It is financial extinction, but economy is a completely different thing.

It requires some upgrade in the level of thinking yes, but I posit that even if all the western fiat currencies were just removed from the system, their all positive and negative balances and all contracts that solely exist to trade between them, this would directly cause only a few months of confusion.

Every other martial law, misery, regulations of trade, etc. is part of the plan, to make us fear that we should hold on to the system of enslavement and fear its demise.

If you don't fear, they are quite powerless.

Crypto Kingdom is a microcosm of this. Even if all the money was removed from the game (eg. by goons coercing the depository), the game would continue just as well as before. The difference between Crypto Kingdom and real world is that I as the leader of the former, have intention to solve any crises, and the banksters, as the usurpers of the latter, are busy creating crises to keep people in fear.

Hard to believe that a significant amount of wise money would enter into a coin based on if it has 20k or 100k posts in the thread without reading a sample of a few pages here and there to assess the quality and the issues discussed.

Dash is floating on hot money imo. But they seem pretty resilient - if they just renounced the claims of instamine being an accident, and anonymity, it might be worth to check out. As long as scamcoin label persists, it is ruled out for me.

I remember rpietilä calling 0,5BTC/Monero as cheap if it has the success we all hope for  Grin

I gave a lecture about investing Tuesday, mentioned Monero now as the best EV VC investment I have ever seen in my career of 18 years.

Bitcoin is inferior, and time has advanced, yet I would gladly have bought BTC for $0.5 instead of $3, although even the latter was not that bad.

the entire game board must take notice or be crushed against the wall

My portfolio actually has positive beta with all persecution directed towards me. In the year following the seizure of "all" my assets by Finnish goons, I managed to no less than 10x the value of my portfolio, because - you know - in my opinion it just makes sense to play so that when they hit you -5, you get +50...

I suggest that you to sell your moneros coz it ll go down under the 100k soon. and then it may pump again.

Just yesterday I was guest lecturing in an investing course, about how speculation (buying and selling) is the worst possible investment strategy. Only the best make money - and why take risks as I have performed reasonably well with my style.

What s your style? explain it please.

Intent is to minimize the total loss probability by investing to assets with weak intercorrelation in total loss probability and an overall different risk profile. When the constraints concerning capital preservation in all possible scenarios (including refugee, prison, death, ...) are fulfilled, the rest is invested using Venture Capital method to assets that offer lucrative positive Expected Value, at a major (50-90%) risk of losing the investment. Kelly's formula dictates the maximum bet to each of these. Liquidity is taken into account as well. Taxes are minimized with a multinational corporate structure. The corporations also occasionally do some business or work or at minimum accept commissions for my assignments. Just today closed a 5-figure commission from a movie company who wanted to use my castle for filming.

NWO is actually in the process of losing this war. (Excellent article.) Lately, their false flags are exposed immediately and the number of people or even countries that believes them is less and less.

The new thing is also how Putin is destroying the American weapons in the ISIL hands, effectively fighting a victorious defensive proxy war against NWO imperialism, and what's best: NWO cannot even propagate their own version of it without being laughed at!  Cheesy People in countries, supposedly in NWO hands, can openly rejoice of NWO being on the receiving side in the battle.

1532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom - 1991 Retro Virtual World(City) on: October 26, 2015, 02:12:21 PM
This feels very ill after remembering the hundreds of hours of effort with the Buildings DB and the visualizations, but I am ready to listen to a better idea  Huh

Why not a special coin/medal or a free lot or some free wine for every sqm of historical building you own? Simple and no need to add or change the parameters.

We need to work with the dev constraints. The changes to the building module are core, so cannot be externalized. Every script to add complexity delays the other features.

One-time bonuses to historical building owners can certainly be done, albeit those guys already enjoy a lot of privileges so not sure whether the bonus needs to be that big in value.

I am currently thinking of the build-year based increase in CUL yield of the building, perhaps +25% per 50 years, incentivizing the use of very old buildings for culture (residences or cultural institutions). Similarly, buildings in B.3 would get a bonus when allocated to SCIence, and buildings in certain areas would get a commercial boost.

1533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom - 1991 Retro Virtual World(City) on: October 26, 2015, 11:13:30 AM
The game is now paused to rewrite the DB logic. Once it is done (we had some delays), all items are created, transferred and consumed via a master changelog, and there is no place to record the item balances as a variable. This makes the system an order of magnitude more robust to withstand both hacks, and buggy commands and API methods, which we intend to produce in great quantities in the days ahead. (Not that we seek for them to be buggy, but they are, when produced in this method Wink )

What to do with Buildings has been a dilemma of the design side for a long time now, and the latest idea is in the design thread. It seems probable that the utilized datatype of the buildings will be merged back to the Lots. This feels very ill after remembering the hundreds of hours of effort with the Buildings DB and the visualizations, but I am ready to listen to a better idea  Huh
1534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom Game Design on: October 26, 2015, 11:04:20 AM
Buildings getting closer...

Current thinking is to move buildings to become a very abstracted datatype. Why?

Because we will have the skills, and the items, and the factories, and maybe NPC, and all these things that in real life also are the real grantors of bonuses and factors of production. Building is after all just walls.

So the most ruthless idea is to get rid of buildings as a datatype altogetherShocked

Before condemning the idea, let's start with explaining that in the history, they were rather late to be implemented in the first place. Actually just 10 years ago, when the game was already paused. Before that, the bonuses were assigned by Lot, of course containing the buildings.

We already decided to move to this direction with the Wood buildings (which only have 1 individual parameter, repair%), and this move was applauded by all who opened their mouth.

So why not make the Lot contain a certain pile of stone and other materials, with the Building payouts just calculated from this?

Later on, when visualization comes, the approximation that has so far served as a building, will become a comprehensible one, and excess and deficient stone etc. will be handled at that point.

The Lot would have a "focus of production" tentatively as:

- Cultural institution (mostly CUL)
- Scientific institution (mostly SCI)
- Rental property (mostly money)
- Residence (gets payout as a cultural institution + same bonuses as the wood buildings (without need to build them).
- Production (needed to make certain items, no/low other bonus)

This would greatly simplify things and cause a building boom, while retaining the "dormant data" such as knowledge of the looks of the historical buildings.

I am playing with the idea of reducing the building data (in the Lot datatype) to the following fields (please add for ones you believe should be added):

- stonecount
- windowcount

- Location desirability (is already a Lot-specific field)
- Luxury (would now directly affect more since some soft correlating data is scrapped)
- Sqm (room height comes automatically as the stone/sqm is constant, and larger buildings have larger rooms)
- Unbuilt sqm (lot size would add to the benefit as it does now)
- Focus of production (CUL and SCI would have fixed payouts, rental is a pool)

With potentially some modifiers to add to the historical value of some lots, which cannot be compensated just by their location (or just bump their location really high).

Try telling some 2nd/3rd world kid (whether an orphan or just Not Rich) that he should avoid a first world education even if offered one, because it "sucks."

They have been instrumental of giving me this knowledge. Otherwise I would be blind just as you. Ever visited India and made friends with the people there? Or any other country in another continent?
1536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 26, 2015, 08:11:33 AM
What is needed at this moment in human development is targetted charity.  This is where I came up with my idea of a gifted and talented orphanage.  Being an orphan that grew up in one of the worst educational systems and worst poverty America has to offer, I understand all too well the frustration behind being a sharp and curious mind stuck in an unfortunate situation.

I want to globally seek out children who display exceptional intelligence and abilities and give them chance to move to a first world country and be schooled in one of the finest educational systems possible.

First world education system sucks beyond repair Sad

Very few whom I know who really desire and can change the world have graduated from famous universities.

Nevertheless, me and Wife had an orphan child in India whom we fully supported from 2004 to almost present. She is a general practitioner candidate now, I think.

The account will be terminated as a punitive measure if:
- The character is convicted of Treason, and in major or repeated cases of Felony. Treason is defined as a wilful act, attempt or plot to undermine, corrupt, damage, compromise etc. of the CK's, (State of the) World's, Town's, King's, etc rule-bound authority, integrity or function. In addition to terminating the account, the character may be sentenced to death, and before that lose all assets and decorations.
- Illegal immigrants may be expelled without warning. Illegal immigration means mass character farming, especially if characters are bot-controlled, but only with proof that it is done for the purpose of monetary gain rather than to enjoy the game.

I think the majority of the rules seem clear. However, I would like to see the above quote clarified (Felony especially), due to the severity of the punishment; after all, the character/account is put to death!

The characters may "go to a long trip", "be exiled", "die naturally", or "be convicted and executed".

The account may be terminated with or without right of inheritance.

Felony is any ingame act that would result in prison time if done IRL, such as murder, theft, fraud; and also the stuff that other services prohibit in TOS.

For example, when I first joined the IRC-channel, I kept referring to the King as "Your Highness" (I thought from some references that this might be proper). I was soon corrected, that I should be using "Your Majesty", as only this would be proper for the King.

In the same time, the English have just learned to write, and address their king with 3 different honorifics in the same text. Merely behaving like the English do, is not a reason to be put to death.

Quote
If the King was having a bad day, would this count as "Strike #1 in Felony" for Syksy as an attempt to undermine/corrupt King's authority?

LOL. Highness is still a respectful address, eg. I haven't addressed anyone IRL as "highness". I know "excellences" such as ambassadors and cabinet ministers (who in Finland cough their coffee if addressed such) but no highnesses that I am aware.

Also, commoners of course need to abide by the laws of the land, but their status is not that they are sworn servants of the King as nobles are. The higher you go, the more loyal to the King you must be in word and deed.

Quote
attempts to e.g. hack King's account, impersonate the King etc?

Hacking any account counts. Because it is resorting to out-of-our-world powers to wilfully cause damage to SotW, so it is witchcraft as well, and burning at stake might be a good punishment.

The bug abuser was banned due to multiple accounts of bug abusing, but still this serves as an interesting example of how authority could be undermined using game's own mechanics, though in this case it was through an unintended feature.

If such happened in our case let's say in a battle, rules say that an archer may have 3 arrows only. After he finishes them, I charge towards in an attempt to finish him, but he shoots me dead with a 4th arrow. In this care it is simply checked if there was an unintended exploit that led to the violation of rules (in which case the move is declared illegal and he dies instead), or if the rules allowed for an unthought-of exploit, in which case I remain dead for taking stupid risks.

Because I am in it for the long term, I hope that when/if I one day spend my "eta" that I will do it directly.  I fully expect that I will never 'sell' up to 50% of the Monero I acquire in these early stages.  I actually like a modified form of Risto's plan, where every time the price goes up 10x you sell/trade 10% to increase the available supply and upgrade the quality of your life a little bit.

I think it's optimal to sell a bit more, such as 1/3 of the remaining after every 10x (although you can skip the first one, like I did with Bitcoin).

Price hits $40: I sell 10% of what I acquired at under $1.  Perhaps I buy a new car, and a tv finally.  Wink
Price hits $400: I sell 10% and buy a house.
$4000 Retire from my job and go full time Monero promotion, consulting, activist.  Sell 10% for travel and living expenses over the next several years.
$40,000: Sell 10%.  Start a video game company (dream of my youth).

With the exception of buying a TV (I don't need), I have done all this  Grin

What's next on your list? Charity?

Charity is not a potent way for changing the world. Perhaps going to prison and in the process becoming a global human rights leader could be the next step.

The main reason he doesn't think crypto can survive, because he is convinced that once the crypto currency movement is getting bigger then the government will simply use all available technologies and tools to destroy it or to reduce it to a niche and insignificant domain what it is today. I think Armstrong (unfortunately) is completely correct about that.

Haha I first read that the cryptocurrency movement is getting bigger and will simply use all available technologies and tools to destroy [the government] or to reduce it to a niche and insignificant domain.

Perhaps it is a matter of perception how you feel the world is heading. I have never been more convinced of the victory of the liberty than today.

The use of the word simply was especially nice.
