If I move all my S1's to Eligius, do I just use one public address for all of them?

Seems to be the way to go.

Please let me know, kind of tired of Ghash always going down.

Thanks

Rob Cool

Yep.  I moved everything to Eligius for now.  Payout seems the same to me as Ghash.  Funny thing, but I have 10 Antminer U1's connected to Minepeon, and when I changed the pool from Ghash to Eligius, the hash speed went up.  Don't know why, but I get about another 5 or 6 GHS now.  Or at least that's what Minepeon is saying.

Anyway, to answer your question, you just need a single Bitcoin address for all of the S1's.  With Eligius, you can use the same Bitcoin address for all of your devices.  You can create a new address to keep things separate, or just use your default Bitcoin address.  Load the address as the username in the S1's (no password).   For the pool, use: stratum+tcp://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334

The S1 does give you an option for up to 3 pools, but I don't use that.  I only use one at a time.  It takes all of 20 seconds to log in and change the pool to something else if there's a problem.  But to each his own.

the problem of not having a fall back pool is if you can not access your miners or don't know the pool went down you must connect manually when the miner would just do it itself with little to no loss of hashing. But as you say to each his own.

I don't understand why you think you need to move anything? The S1 lets you input 3 pools and it's all automatic. If your first pool goes down then it switches to the next pool on your list and when your first choice comes back up it will switch back. I use the GHash US pool as #1 and have the UK pool as my #2 pool then have BTC guild as my third. Mine switched over to BTC Guild on its own and came back to GHash once they were back up. I don't care for Eligius pool when I mined there. The pool had a lot of issues with payouts and it says it a 0% fee pool but good luck ever seeing 100% payout of your shares. I was at 97% and see a lot others now at low 90's and will never see 100%. Slush's pool is another bad choice as a back up pool as your shares will be loss if your miner switches back over to GHash and a block is not found by Slush soon afterwards which most likely will not happen as they only find a couple blocks per day, so your mining shares will be worthless.
1563  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Do your S1's stop hashing? Reboot it Automatically. on: April 28, 2014, 10:59:29 PM
I wonder why your S1s stop hashing.  I have 8 S1s myself and I never have that problem with them.  They're currently showing 44 days uptime.

I have mine overclocked to 400MHz, running the 20131226 firmware, and receiving their IP address assignments using DHCP.

If you only have one pool configured, I would suggest adding a second pool in case of downtime on the primary.
Same here with my 6 S1's.No down time and  I have them mining on GHash pool and use their UK address and then BTC guild for back up.

Received miner and have it hashing away. Thanks for the quick transaction!

Shipping was $38 for priority mail with signature (usually 2 days but not guaranteed)
I was the high bidder on the last S1 and received it today and have it hashing. No problems. In fact it's hashing faster than my other two. Thanks smooth for a quick transaction and will be glad to leave you positive trust and would hope you do the same. Thanks again!

Agreed with LDR.

Sorry but this smells of SCAM unless more MUCH more information is stated.  Proof or gtfo.
I agree as well. A newbie with a short story about his plans with very little detail and asking for funds.

Doesn't BFL give a lifetime warranty? Maby worth trying to get a replacement?
your right but I think it's only lifetime or a year after they quit making that miner. But anyways I had a problem with one of my Singles and BFL was easy to deal with and had a miner replacing my bad one within a week of sending mine in. Then I had another one act up and once again BFL sent me a RMA but I checked and it was my BFL PSU went bad. I emailed them and said I would not need to send in the miner and they sent me a new PSU  right away. All my units were bought second hand and I never have bought direct from the company and they have been great on the warranty.
1575  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Join Slush's Pool! on: March 23, 2014, 10:18:03 AM
I have nothing against the pool. Their score based system just hasn't work well for me.

Another vague comment.  Are you saying that their system does not pay you your fair share?  If other pools are not score based, what are they based on?

Most pools are based off proven unhoppable methods (DGM, PPLNS, PPS, CPPSRB).  Slush's payment method is hoppable, though not as reliably as the old proportional methods.  I don't think that's what most the responses refer to though.  I think the biggest thing people have against slush's pool these days is the complete absence of Slush, especially since the little quirk in his round calculations still screws up once in a while.  It supposedly always gets fixed, but that bug has been lingering around for about a year if his thread comments are any indication.
Eleuthria is correct as he answered more questions about Slush's pool than Slush did. I also felt that as the pool kept getting less and less of the overall network hash rate that it was time to give in and  move to one of the larger pools as it seems someday the smaller ones will be unprofitable for the pool operators and either have to shut down or be combined with another pool anyways.

I am up for seeing if when you get more miners if they preform as stated. Would like to see more than a few at the same time hashing at the proper rate. Here is my wallet for this test  1FvErpyTerLzVvxHRTdakoo14x1tJdDvHj

Please PM me when you start this test so I can follow it as it sounds like it might be a few days. Thanks
