Just a suggestion to ATCSECURE That could be great to have in wallet a visual status of xnode feature. In fact I run it but even not sure if it's work, I have no info on it ..  Thanks that would be awesome, I have been running xnode about a day now and still see nothing happen. i wondered if it's even work. I also hope atcsecure can get everything working fast as the price drop people will be moving on. There are so many good coins out there to just stay with one when everything is broken. there's not that many good coins out there actually i can think of like 3 max including XC, and whats broken....please enlighten me. |

XC coin is the future...  yep ..it has 10 times lower price than is should be. Soon as we finish android wallet and REV.2 price will be at Litecoin range in no time I couldn't agree with you more. Been doing my research and the Dev is talented beyond belief. There used to be a saying in my old workplace that one brilliant coder is better than ten average ones. Plus, the idea of a decentralised anonymous currency is excellent. There is no point having an anonymous currency if its centralised. Just gives it one huge point of failure. Can't see darkcoin holding its market share against XC for long. PS: has the Dev given a rough indicator of the expected timeframe for Rev 2? He seems to be working really hard and I'm just wondering whether he's started developing it yet, and if he hasn't, how long he expect it to take? As of the last bubble, there was no xnodes and no peer review, and thats just the most notable things, yet the price still hit 0.0005. Now the price has bottomed out from the last bubble, you can see this because of the higher lows we hit everytime. Was 0.00008, then 0.0001011, then 0.0001016 and now 0.000107, plus the 12H MACD is about to go green for the first time since the end of the last bubble. If I'm right were gonna see a slow and gradual rise up to 0.0002 over the next week and then a new bubble form that's going to take us up well past 0.001 in anticipation of Rev 2. Exciting. I can nearly +1 with you on this. Only issues are, that the MACD is only crossing because bitcoinwisdom only has data upto the end of the last bubble. MACD is a lagging indicator, but it won't work properly until a full data set is achieved. Secondly, the 0.000107 bottom could be broken. 0.000103-0.000105 is still possible. You using slightly too small time frames, but you are correct, the lows are getting higher and higher, this is a perfect sign after a crash. Thirdly, while I agree on your philosophy that people will buy in anticipation and sell on delivery, I still think to break 0.001 Rev 2 will need to be released. We need a fully functioning advantage over the other anonymous currencies before we can overtake them. It's coming though, I have no doubt about it. Anyways, yes, we have bottomed. Yes, we are slowly rising. Yes, bubbles form after slow rises. Got a good feeling about the next month. Think 0.001 is more likely than not. Was going to sell in a couple of weeks and then rebuy at a later date but didnt realise Rev 2 was only a few weeks away. Got my phone alerts set up when the price hits 0.0002. Expecting it soon. Will post another update then. You don't lose 80% of your value on a solid investment without the price at least doubling after that 80% loss. Shortly after. But its marketing and followers are just topnotch/dedicated. It will either faulter or thrive in time, but if XC rises it will be its only true adversary. And to be honest, I have nothing wrong with the coin itself, I would love to have gathered some back in feb(crypto still unkown to me back then), but things like FUD/lies, that I hate. The other currency which looks like it can deliver should be monero, with fair stats and a true anonimity method, but it plays in a league of its own, no gui wallets, diffrent anon method, no promotion for now, gpu mining just arrived which will shake things up a bit... It lacks things as well. All in all, im excited to be part of this. PS: GZ to the logo contest winner! monero is great so is QCN by the way actually better in some ways but they have a problem with block chain bloat that will make them unsuitable for widespread use, that's what i love about our DEV he has recognized this and already has a plan to implement something alike to rings, that will take care of the bloat. |

Stingray is basically a mini-cell phone tower/network/access point in a box... or it can be more advanced with a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) (for example, at a stadium, sporting event, etc) It does a man in the middle attack, picking up your text (as clear as day btw)... your data and your calls (metadata on this is captured real-time, who you called, how long you talked, etc) XC will play a key part in protecting against this intrusion with its 2 way encrypted protocol nice..people are just waiting for this kinda stuff, i know i am. |

Nobody is concerned that basically all Gmaxwell's criticisms apply equally, if not more, to XC?
XC doesn't even purport to be trustless, and the overall implementation hasn't even been comprehensively described.
As he has said cryptonote and zerocash technology are the only novel and workable decentralised and trustless solutions thus far. A 'dynamic trust network' is neither trustless (the whole point of bitcoin and derivative technologies) nor decentralised since it relies on certain nominated nodes to provide specific tasks.
Everybody seems to be drinking a nice big cup of smug over the weaknesses of darkcoin (of which there are legion) while avoiding taking a look in their own back yard.
Yes, I think it would be valuable for the XC team to engage seriously (and respectfully) with Gmaxwell's post. In fact, we should invite him to review XC's tech when it's more fully developed. It would be a real opportunity to benefit from his expertise. I also think we should take his criticisms seriously when developing the coin. Is there a better model than the dynamic trust system? Can we come up with one? Perhaps, and we'd do well to consider it long and hard. that's a good idea. Gmaxwell is an expert on Anonymous technology. ATCsecure shall we discuss how Gmaxwell's post might apply to XC? I imagine it'd be a matter of whether the multi-path paradigm can be implemented without a dynamic trust system, while still preserving XC's ability to avoid blockchain bloat. Multi-path has incredible possibilities; how about removing/reducing the need for trust with the following (which in all likelihood you've thought of already): - your specification includes that each xnode only passes on fragments of transactions; this means each fragment will be a small (non-risky) amount. - what if xnodes have to compete to relay a given fragment? This builds in redundancy, so that if one node attempts to steal the fragment, the others will pass it on. The fastest node gets the transaction fee. - what if xnodes also can only pass on a single fragment at a time? This way a node would only ever have one fragment, and therefore could never amass enough money for it to be worth stealing. - Xnodes would then compete for transaction fees by processing transactions faster than other nodes. This way the network would organically improve its capacity. - At some cost to network speed, the protocol could also set a maximum fragment size to ensure the incentive to become a bad actor is always low regardless of the size of a given payment. The effect of the above is that xnodes have two options: - steal a fragment and (a) derive minimal reward, and (b) get booted off the network via the trust system - or pass on (a) as many fragments as possible in the shortest time and (b) get multiple tiny rewards. The second of these is prima facie preferable. However this idea would still be vulnerable to the following attack: - set up thousands of xnodes - find a way to steal fragments (I understand this is only a speculative possibility and that there'll be a way of making this exceedingly difficult... however I can't think further about this without more information) - steal thousands of fragments, delete nodes, create new ones, build up trust, steal more fragments. I'm unsure whether this attack will be more profitable than just being an honest node; its feasibility will come down to the details. And, fortunately, you decide what the details are. The security of the network could well depend on this balance of incentives, which is ok I suppose, but its precariousness is analogous to that of mining competition in bitcoin. A systemic solution to the problem would be preferable. Any suggestions? the debit cards are a game changer imo, along side the iphone app, this has the potential to go mainstream like few other cryptos have and will, im predicting 50-100mil market cap( by the way evan btc's m cap is tiny for something with a global market so 50-100m is seriously chicken feed) in another 6-12 months if Devs deliver and market this properly, but just my opinion...

1. 24 Hour volume on MINTPAL is around 1500 BTC 2. Lets say 2/3 (1000 BTC ) of that volume is constantly sitting on MINTPAL (or Cryptsy ) WALLETS 3. Based on some calculations ( logarithmic scale stalking 0-30 days 3.33%) you can take about 1/10 of that volume is constantly producing COINS IN MINTPALs and Cryptsy-is WALLETS 4. Lets say (based on calculations) 100 BTC of XC producing 3.33% coins EVERY FUCKING DAY (and I'm sure that I'm being gentle with that calculation). 5 3.33% of approx. 100 BTC is roughly 3.33 BTC of XC ....every fucking day you donate 3.33 BTC to MINTPAL and the don't even say THANK YOU MORONS.... in ten days that is 33.3 BTC of XC - not bad - what do you think ?... Just withdraw your XC from exchanges and you will see how price of XC goes UP - significantly They selling you your own coins guys and you dont see that ?  Mintpal disabled stake you xyz they said they did...but did they? you going to trust them? |

Let's attribute the quietness to the blessed absence of FUD. yeah i bet there saying to themselves "my work here is done" can't believe ppl scoop so low to make money, i have never once spread FUD for gains or to protect my investment. Heh. Yeah, they probably think their work is done. It's fine really. This coin has little to lose from a dip in price, and I have lots to gain at the bottom. i'm not worried about the price personally i could sell now and still be way up, just sad to see how a thriving community, just goes silent, just because the price doesn't indefiently rise, it was 500 when i bought in less then 3 weeks ago now it's 100k down from 4 and people are like" ohh XC is dead'  WTF. |
