what do you prefer? i run the malwarebytes pro version all i know is i had avg installed at one point and it would come up clean system, and then i download free version of malwarebytes and it came up with like 100+ viruses! what a joke that was a paid for version of AVG also, that was also a computer i had no crypto on at the time so i was lucky i found how useless the mainstream anti virus programs are.
Gibs187x do you live in the states? did you have your computer delivered? if you had it delivered it would of had to go thru the postal service and that's a government agency would not surprise me if they are hijacking packages with computers of interest, like yours would be being heavily involved in crypto for 4 years, and put shit on it.
yeah sounds like a conspiracy.
but the truth  stranger then fiction i have come to find.
trust nothing and nobody anymore those days are long gone.

Are you sure you didn't get really high last night before bed, wake up in the middle of the night super paranoid of your new computer having NSA backdoors, create a new wallet on your old pc and send the SDC to it, enable it for staking, take another super fat dab and fall back asleep, waking up with no memory of the middle night paranoia fit?

i love people that try to down others that smoke weed. I can be blunted off an eighth to the dome and function perfectly fine. your lame joke would be somewhat humerous if i didnt just lose 55k sdc. its good though atleast dasource has verified the SDC didnt get sent from my wallets. Why would i make this all up?? For what??? a couple free extra SDC and a pitty party? fuck off yo i dont even want anyones sdc its good

Sorry you're having this horrible experience. I don't understand how such a thing is possible, it seems very weird! I'm not very tech savvy so I don't get much of the discussion but if you don't find your coins,  even if you don't wanna anyone's SDC I'll happily donate a little something for solidarity.

Should we all fear for our coins? It would be great if someone could identify how these coins got hacked and explain the other how to protect their coins from this to happen.
I think it's time large holders and holders in general start thinking about storing offline on paper wallets etc and deleting everything from there computers until we can come up with something to fix this problem i am in the process, only have a small amount not in cold storage now, how can this be prevented? could shadow build some kind of cryptovault program that held the wallet or wallet.dat etc so this was not possible? i have something like this on my phone to keep apps and photos safe also optional 2FA in the wallet is an idea i have thrown out before, this is a huge problem in crypto that needs to be addressed.

it's not the responsibility of the devs to make sure everyone's coins are safe from malware. pulling coins off of the network would negatively impact the security of the network.
No it's not, and i never said it was, but it would be nice if in the future there were some shadowapps that made things a bit safer for everyone, IMO the fact so many BTC have been flogged in this fashion, has hurt it more then any amount of blackmarket activity, i don't like putting my credit card info on the net, good luck getting the majority of the world to accept crypto when they can be lifted form your computer so easy. will never happen.
683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | ShadowMarket* | update v1.3.2.4 on: May 19, 2015, 11:23:56 PM
Here are some apps i would like to see on sold in the shadowapp store one day
1. shadowvault a program that stores your wallet securely like the many vault programs, but using shadowtech because the ones out there now suck.
2. A shadow version of Authy for optional 2FA in the SDC wallet
If we had these i would store my wallet wallet.dat all in vault with PW and 2FA , then i would have my wallet with another PW and 2FA try breaking into that bitch.

Somebody lost nerves already on Bittrex. Smiley I was just waiting when it starts. Smiley

Hardly, it was me. I dumped 1000 coins. Had to take some profit across my portfolio, no biggie.

So you dumped SMAC down to 10k in order to make a fraction of 1 BTC and you call it taking profit?

Hope you don't hold too many more SMAC man because that's about as weak a hand as I have ever seen!

You realize what the spread of that was, don't you? I've been in since the ICO, bought even more at 8k.  weak, hardly. I dipped across all my coins, which I never do. Not even for that much, but family comes first, get it?
at least your honest  Grin

Are there any known issues when using an "old" wallet? I have a wallet from late last year and am trying to get the new client to get sync'd. It runs for a little bit and then throws an error saying something about not being able to open the wallet. It opened it fine at the start obviously as it's showing a balance but while it's syncing I end up with this and have to restart. I noticed that my old wallet is 88k in size and the default one it generated when I first started it, is 96k.

Also, is there a way to export my private keys and then reimport them? Can't seem to find that anywhere.
YES! we forked remember old wallets are no longer on the correct chain, i had a few problems with the new wallet but i it must ofbeen my new computer because i downloaded it on the old one and it works well, not many people are having issues so I|am thinking it's most likely on your end because it was on mine also.

I'm referring to the wallet.dat file (the actual "wallet"), and not the client which most people refer to as the wallet. I'm using the latest and greatest client so it should be on the correct fork.

ahhhh ok misread that.

we got strong hands here let them dump you wont see much dumping trust me, and slowly but surely the buybacks are taking the coins off the market.
If all goes to plan with sealing these partnerships with the social media advertising company's, when people rush into SMAC and they will if all goes to plan.
The price will go parabolic, because by that time there will be almost no SMAC to buy left on the markets.
but this isn't just a coin for trading, if all goes to plan this coin will  be part of it's own economy that uses SMAC to run therefore SMAC has an actual use and purpose and an actual legitimate demand.
I love this project because it really is doing something never done before in crypto, if it pulls it off, who knows what can happen, all i know is the social media world is massive, and the advertising industry is worth billions if not trillions if SMAC can cut off even 1% of that pie..
SMAC is doing everything correct they are not running there mouths just developing and keeping true to there word, please continue.
we are still very young but every month the revenue from the accounts grows and the ammount of accounts grows who knows how much they will be making by the end of the year, seriously! great stuff team, if this time next year your not making 10k a month i will be surprised because your building nice momentum.

soon we will see 43k sdc price, if it breaks 43k then we will be looking for new base

no volume, no newcomers/new bloods...

better core team updates the community and confirms that Q2 is still valid for marketplace, or they revise the date before it is end of Q2

if they need to revise the date, better they dont wait till end of Q2 to revise it

obvious troll is obvious

i will remind it to you when 43k comes

45k came, 43k price is not far, even lower we will see this weekend

Lol, only 2.5 BTC worth of Shadow for sale under 50K on trex.  I will pump it for you skippy.

24 hr Min 42.5k, i am done

Do u want to learn what is next lawgicc
You are such a troll..good thing only like 2 people including yourself give a fuck about the price. push it down please more MORE go to 30k i dare you..

You could print key information in the white space on dollar bills, to make them represent SDC.

hmmm printing keys on dollar bills...  Could we use this for some kind of marketing campaign?  Kind of like the 'where's george' tracker for dollars.  250+ million bills have been entered and tracked for a total of 1.35 billion dollars.

For those that are not familiar with this:
https://www.google.com/search?q=wheres+george&es_sm=93&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=8EpWVfjyOMG6sQXvyIGgBg&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAg&biw=1920&bih=965

Some rough ideas on how can we make this work.

Need a stamp to mark dollar bills and a website to track those dollars.  The site will provide information about SDC and could act like a faucet.  Make the bill redeemable for $1 worth of SDC or maybe just 1 SDC.  To earn the SDC the person would need to enter the information on the bill, download the wallet, and provide a new address for receiving the free SDC.  There needs to be a simple how-to from start to finish.

This could work really good if the market was functional.  We can create an official SDC store that could sell some cheap items like SDC branded stickers, key chains, etc... Just some things cheap enough to get them to spend that free SDC and see it in action.

If done right, this tracking site could generate some ad revenue too.  This revenue should be used to buy more SDC for the faucet and inventory for the official store.

That's a good idea. You can set up a template in a laser printer to print on the bills instead of using a stamp.

Another fun thing I thought of was a really hard trivia contest. 52 questions, the answer to each one resolves to a character in the private key. Get them all right, and you have the key and there are coins waiting for you in the address. People would really get into that.
That's a cool idea

Can anyone even fathom the value of a 1 oz silver coin with 1k SDC on them after the collapse if everything runs smoothly with SDC and it really gets as big as some of us believe  hahaha my god just think about it please real physical money with real untraceable digital money stored on it  Shocked
697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | Market* | Thunderclap 1,3M+ on: May 15, 2015, 05:34:35 PM
I have a question, when i was first looking into crypto in the early days there were heaps of the physical bitcoins going around, wish i had of bought em up they were so cheap haha anyways i never really understood how they worked, are they like a paper wallet but just engraved in a valuable object? is this how the HD master key work? i want my coins off the grid, until needed, i do not need the stake i want to remove them completely from my computers and take no risks, basically what i want is physical SDC coins or bullion each holding around 10k, how do i even start to do this? because in the near future i think it may be dangerous to hold large amounts on our computers, we will be a definite target too government agency's, i want to get active now and prevent tears latter.

You can just create a bunch of wallets, put the 10K coins in each wallet, then use the dumpprivkey function in the console to get the private keys of each and record it. Then format and/or destroy your hard drive.
well i hope someone in the future produces physical shadow coins because i am very interested in buying but  thanks for the tips.

I think physical coins sort of defeats the purpose of using an anonymous Shadow.  What the team is working on is the best of all worlds, because all your wallet addresses can be held solely in your head, you just need to remember a string of words that you can make up yourself.
I Don't all im doing is storing my shadow off grid on something i find valuable until i want to use them, does not effect the rest of the network in anyway.

Why not just use a paper wallet?
because i want it stored on something physical like silver that could also raise in price the fact if SDC is huge in the future and silver will  go up no doubt because it has been manipulated for so long i remember when BTC hit 1k each physical holding 1 BTC were going for ridicules amounts 6-12k on ebay depending on the material used to people investing in them as collectors items for the future i want to have coins and bullion in all different nominations for this reason and for security reasons a silver coin for instance may survive a house fire where a paper wallet probably wont.
