1561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do Owners of betting companies bet? on: November 12, 2023, 05:48:41 AM
Do owners of betting companies place bet on their own platform or is there a policy specific policy that restricts them from betting. Do you think that there would be conflict of interest or that it will be unethical if owners bet on their own platforms. These are the questions that I am seeking an answer to.

Let's first understand one thing. If we win any bet the casino will give us the winning amount from their pocket. On the other hand, if we lose any bet, our bet amount goes to the casino.

Now come to the point. If the casino owner bets on his own site, in case he wins, he will give himself the winning amount and if he loses, the money still stays with him. So logically it is useless to bet as a casino owner, as you are playing with your own money. Yes, if he bet on some other sites other than his own, then he can win or lose the money depending on the result of the bet, Because, on other sites, he will just bet as a gambler only (as he is not the owner at other gambling sites).

India vs Netherlands
The World Cup is almost at an end, today is the last match of the World Cup group stage in India vs Netherlands. India has confirmed the semi-final from number 1 in the points table, India will play in the semi-final against New Zealand. Today's match is not an important match for India, but India is unbeaten so far so they will try to win today's match. Today's match is very important for Netherlands, although the chance of Netherlands win today is not 5%, if Netherlands can win today by luck then they will have chance to play in ICC Champions Trophy. Because Bangladesh is at number 8 with 4 points, if Netherlands can win today, it will be 6 points and will move up to number 8 in the points table. However there is absolutely no chance of Netherlands winning today, I am sure India will win today.

If you check the odds at stake.com, you will realize that for India you will only get 1.01 odds while if you risk your money on the Netherlands, you will get 12 odds. Though betting on the Netherlands looks too much tempting, the reality is that there is no way the Netherlands is going to win against the mighty India.

With this, we will end the 45 matches of the World Cup today and after today's match, there will be just 2 semi finals and the big final left to be played in this World Cup.

Today will be the last match of World Cup group stage India vs Netherlands. India has played 8 matches so far and won 8 matches and is at the number 1 position in the points table. Netherlands has played 8 matches and won 2 matches and is at number 10 in the points table. India will win easily today.

You are right about that as we have the match between the strongest and the weakest team of the tournament. The strongest team is India which did not lose a single match in this tournament while the weakest team is Netherlands which are at the bottom of the points table.

Today predictions are a no-brainer.

India vs Netherlands

Toss win: Netherlands
Team win: India
Best Batsmen: Virat Kohli
Best bowler:   Mohammed Shami
1564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sad reality: some countries gamble more than they can afford on: November 11, 2023, 05:39:30 PM
What do you think about this issue where people gamble too much in countries where the vast majority of the population isn't well off? Should governments step in and restrict casinos more perhaps?
One factor I think why people spend so much on gambling more than they can afford is the lack of education and financial literacy. Countries who are poor has a citizens who don't have enough education given the fact that people prioritize surviving and taking jobs instead of studying. Majority of those people who lack financial literacy want to make money as fast as they want and some of them don't really consider the risk of gambling. Casino is a business and they don't earn money from the gamblers, I don't think that gamblers who doesn't have a proper education understand it, they are more focus in taking risk and don't think a head.

I don't buy this argument that those who do not have enough education and/or are illiterate, prefer gambling as it makes quick money. Do you mean to say that those who have no skill, will try their luck in gambling?

Well, this may be true for certain groups of people who have a lot of money to gamble, but usually, a person who is not educated means that he won't be able to get a good job and hence he won't have much money to gamble. So I do not think that those people will prefer gambling as it needs a good financial status and that only comes if you belong to an educated family.

I think it is more of the educated class, who comes to gambling because of a lack of opportunity elsewhere or because they think that gambling is a quick rich scheme.

Holy hell thats ballsy but atleast you walked away with 124 golden tickets. I really hope that you will walk away with that Lambo as well, promise me that you will pose naked on top of your lambo if you ever get it lol  Roll Eyes. Imagine if you lose all that balance, yeah I know its just probably free balances that you got but it sucks to lose especially on 1.01 odds

The sad reality of this golden ticket in particular and gambling in general, is that the more the number of tickets you have for the lottery, it just increases the probability of winning but does not guarantee that you will win a Lambo. Sometimes a lucky person can win a Lambo with just 1 ticket while an unlucky person may remain empty-handed, even if he has 100s of tickets.

Imagine if you lose all that balance, yeah I know its just probably free balances that you got but it sucks to lose especially on 1.01 odds

Again the cruelty of gambling is that someone may lose on odds of 1.01, that is how unlucky gamblers day would be. I mean when you see an odd of 1.01, it means that 99.9% you should win with that odd, but that 0.1% chance may trigger one day and gamblers may lose all their life savings as they tend to put more money on such odds.

Pakistan target 6.4 over 338 runs
Accomplishing the target in front of Pakistan is a rare event in cricket as 338 runs in six overs is unreal. Therefore, Pakistan's dream of qualifying for the semi-finals is never realized. But I hope that Pakistan will play well and win today's match for now.

England were too good today and they won this match quite easily by 93 runs. Though the England team performed well in their last two matches but it was too late for them to come back in the form as they already had lost the road to the semi finals, by losing their initial matches.

From Pakistan, we saw only one half century by Agha Salman. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan got into their 30s but could not convert it into big score. The openers already failed today. There was nothing extraordinary in the bowling department too , however, Haris Rauf took 3 wickets but all the bowlers gave away too many runs.

Earlier, Ben Stokes made 80 runs while David Willey took three wickets and was the man of the match. This was the last ODI match for David Willey and he ended his career with a win for his team but sadly England is also out of this World Cup.

I was looking at gambling statistics for my country the other day. People in Greece lost 22.5 billion EUR only in 2021, and 29 billion in 2022 and that was only on licensed establishments.

29 billion Euros for 2022 only?that is a huge money just to be Lose in gambling does this mean Gambling
operators are really earning billions of Euros each year.that can covers our country's expenses for the whole year.

and the saddest part is that looks like people are losing money that can feed their family instead it goes to the operators.

Hoping that the government will act accordingly and seems like Greece are losing to gambling owner .

What can the government do in such a situation when the people are more inclined to gamble and lose money? Remember, people are using their own money to gambling and they are not taking money from the government to gamble. It's the people's own choice and i don't think the government can control them. If they put a ban on gambling sites, people will still use VPNs and access the sites to play online.

The best advice here in my point of view is that the government should start the casinos operating within the country under their supervision. Though it won't be moral, but that is the best option to boost the economy and stop the drainage of money to offshore gambling companies. In this way, if people gamble on the local national casinos and lose, the beneficiary will be the government as all the money will go to them. This is the only way to get money from a society that is addicted to gambling.

If the Pakistan team can beat England by a huge margin today, then there is a possibility of reaching the ICC 2023 semi-finals. Blackut unfortunately, may not be able to beat England by a large margin in this match and will not be able to go to the bye semi-finals.

The equations which were shown in the social media seemed an impossible task for the Pakistan team to win by that margin. It was like they needed to win for 278 runs or more which is practically not possible.

Right now the situation is such that Pakistan are struggling to chase this big score put by the England team that is 337 runs. They (Pakistan) have lost 2 wickets for only 30 runs. Both the openers Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman were not able to make any runs. Babar Azam is playing at 20 along with Muhammad Rizwan, however, i don't see them winning this match too.

Those who bet on the Pakistan team and the people from Pakistan may be disappointed to see the end result of their team not qualifying for the semi finals. They need to rethink and come up strongly in future series.

^ we have seen some huge cricket surprises this year. First the world cup champs West Indies couldn't qualify for world cup and then this news regarding Sri Lanka. Also, England performance in this world cup counts too, they have big names in their squad but yet team performed so poorly.

These surprises are in terms of teams lowering their performances when something good was expected of them. Srilanka, England and West Indies (could not qualify) were just disappointed but we can say that the Netherlands and Afghanistan showed some good performances like Afghanistan beating Pakistan and England while the Netherlands team beat South Africa and Bangladesh.

Coming to today's first match at Pune, Australia won the toss and rightly decided to bowl first. Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan started the innings slowly but carefully and they have made 20 runs in 5 overs but did not lose any wickets. Being the last match of Bangladesh they would really like to go home with a win against a big team Australia. Let's see how they play these 50 overs and if they can manage to score 300+ runs giving their bowlers something to defend at this ground.

Did someone from bitcointalk ever redemeed these type of prizes though, kinda interesting to know if some of us would make it till this point.

I don't think so. Only whales who wager a huge amount of BTC are likely to be able to redeem these kinds of prizes for RP, although I think it would be a strange decision for even the most wasteful whale. For comparison, iPhone 15 pro max 1tb costs $1599 on Apple's official site, while freebitcoin asks 5,135,617 RP for it, which is equivalent to $1920 at the moment.
You are right and I completely agree with you, so for a whale, it's better for them to simply order for the product from the official store rather than spend thousand of dollars on wager simply to be able to gain enough reward point to claim such a price.

Anyways, I think even a pleb can surely be able to reach such a level and claim the prize, but the thing is that, it will take a very very long time and a lot of commitment from the party as well, for it is not easy to hold reward points up until it reaches 500,000, not to talk of millions.

I personally have been saving up on reward points for several years now, and up on until now, total I have is just a little about 1000, and this is because most times, I end up spending some of it to buy wheel of fortune spins.

Well, can't we think that let's suppose a whale is constantly wagering at freebitco without any intention of collecting RP and redeeming them for an iPhone? After some months, they have enough RP to redeem it for an iPhone. So this would be free money (free iPhone) for them as they would have wagered even if freebitco did not have this Reward Points system.

Yes, if your initial intention is to get an iPhone through RP, then you are risking way too much money but if your intention is only gambling and you are able to collect enough RP, there is nothing harm in redeeming them for a prize.

Just in : ICC has suspended Sri Lankan cricket board membership, which directly means that they won't be able to play any ICC tournament for now.

The main reason is SL sports ministry recently sacked the complete SLC board and the ICC never entertains direct government interference.

This is a major set back for the Sri Lankan cricket. They are already on the losing side in the majority of the tournaments including the World Cup and this ICC suspension may take their country's cricket even down.

Never expected this fate and downfall of the Sri Lankan team who were once the champions of the World Cup under the leadership of Arjuna Ranatunga in the 1996 World Cup.

This is the last match of this World Cup tournament between Bangladesh and New Zealand before the semi-finals. Australia have already secured the semi-finals but Bangladesh will take on Australia today to ensure their dream of qualifying for the Champions Trophy.

Australia's recent performance is so good that they do not seem to be losing against the Bangladesh team. Yes, Bangladesh will try to win this match to qualify for the Champion trophy. Still, as I told you in my earlier posts, the semi finalist team would never like to lose their final matches before the semi finals, so the Aussies will be looking to win this with a good margin.

Australia vs Bangladesh

Toss win: Bangladesh

1573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $50,000 betting goal by 2024. Share Your Thoughts With Me. on: November 10, 2023, 05:44:52 PM
I consider this year in terms of betting to be over. I have had some pretty decent wins. However, one mistake I made was not starting this year with a betting goal, which would have been the specific amount of money I intended to win. Instead, I began the year with the goal of gambling responsibly, and I'd rate myself around 80% in achieving that.

I am sharing my sports betting goal for next year with the gambling community because I highly value your insights and seek advice for any adjustments. I hope to gain expert advice. My goal for next year is to generate $50,000 through betting. Here are the strategies I plan to employ:

First, I will make every available promotion, bonus, arbitrage opportunity, injury information, and stale lines..

Second, I will take advantage of various accessible sportsbooks, which may include legal, offshore, or local options based on jurisdictional regulations.

Third, I will carefully build a bankroll that involves a selective approach to low-cost, high-potential profit angles to mitigate the risks associated with betting swings

Fourth, I will evaluate the expected value (EV) of each betting angle because achieving my $50,000 goal requires realistic assessments and potentially exploring new, uncharted angles.

Fifth, I will leverage my networks to maximize potential profits.

What are your thoughts on these strategies to assist me in achieving my $50,000 betting goal by 2024?

I will tell you the same thing that I tell everyone who thinks they can generate a stable income with betting: It never works. So do not excite yourself about something which only works in dreams.

If you are serious about making money then leave betting out of your plans, otherwise 1 bad bet is all it takes to set into motion an event of pure disaster.

How exactly are you going to leverage your networks to maximize potential profits aside from hoping to make a lot of money from bonuses? Because I am pretty sure that casinos are not that excited about inactive gamblers. Especially those who try to use the bonuses as a passive income...

It has been discuss many time on the forum that we cannot get a regular or a stable income from betting or from gambling but if people do not want to listen, then let them try their luck and they will see for themselves if they are able to maintain a regular income or achieve their goals through betting.

I will not discourage OP to go for the 50000 betting goal but still I will advice to be realistic with his target which can be achievable otherwise it will just put an extra pressure on the mind and the body and it will have an own bad effect on the health.

So, the fourth Semi finalist is confirmed. The remaining four matches will not impact the points table standing much. Today, South Africa will win the match against Afghanistan. Afghanistan spinner might tighten the game a bit.
South Africa beat Afghanistan by five wickets in Ahmedabad. Afghanistan is also out of world cup after Srilanka. Brilliant performance by South Africa batters. Rassie van der Dussen was the player of the match for his match winning innings 76 for 95 balls against Afghanistan that helped Successfully chase down the target 247/5.
Player of the match or best bastmen is: Rassie van der Dussen

Rassie van der Dussen was truly the man of the match as he although took 95 runs for his 76 runs, but he stayed on the wicket and made sure that South Africa won this match.
Previously his highest One day international score was 134 runs. He comes at the third place to bat for the South Africa team and is one of the backbone of their batting. South Africa will be hoping that he may continue with this form in the semi finals too.

1575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have your own casino. on: November 10, 2023, 04:54:16 PM
For me, it is a hell of no to build my own casino because I lack the underlying ability to effectively manage the business since I have no technical, so running a casino is not an easy thing to do but then we have people who specialise in operating a casino, so it becomes a norm that only professionals can effectively run a casino without running into any form of problem.

You go to a shop to buy things, this does not mean that you try to build your own shop. The same goes for the casino, You may visit a casino site to gamble but that does not mean that you may try to built your own casino. There is a big lot of difference between playing at a casino and building your own casino.

Most of the casinos that have folded up are all due to a lack, of proper management and experience in operating the business.

We cannot run a business without having proper knowledge and prior experience of it. So why do we think that we may run a casino without having any knowledge of how to manage it? Even running a casino is even more difficult as you constantly need the revenue in order to pay out the casino winners.
1576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 10, 2023, 03:14:31 PM
The match is getting a bit tight now. South Africa need another 111 runs, with 7 wickets in hand. It should be relatively easy for South Africa from here. But we never know, as the Proteas have a reputation as chokers. Anyway, the outcome of this match is irrelevant. Australia is going to face South Africa in the semi-final and the result of this match is not going to change anything. So it is going to be quite tough for South Africa to qualify for the final. But even then, I think they would prefer Australia as the opponent instead of India.

It's now 100 runs more required with 20 more overs to go with 6 wickets in hand. Still pretty easy for them but they would not want to make it more dramatic from here on in.
Remember that they would be playing with Australia in the semi finals, and they should not lose the match grip at any time as the strong teams will just not let these moments go and may exploit them to come back in the match.

Rashid Khan again is the most successful bowler among Afghanistan and took 2 wickets. However, he has bowled out his 8 overs and only two more overs left for him in this world cup.
1577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What according to you should be the age to retire from gambling ? on: November 10, 2023, 02:59:11 PM
But I think that even old people can enjoy gambling.

Stupid question.

Does this even need a discussion?

Considering gambling as an entertainment factor so you are allowed to gamble as long as you are enjoying it. If you feel forced to stop doing it simply because people consider you are too old to enjoy then just F**K their ideology.

Gambling is not a job or anything, which one needs to retire from it. As long as you have the money and the passion to gamble, you can gamble at any age.

Even the old people can enjoy gambling as long as they are healthy. So enjoyment has no linked with age. You could be in your teenage and have tension about your exams, or you may be in your youth having tension about your job and there can be an old man with no tension and hence you can't compare his enjoyment level (in gambling) as compared to the other two.  Smiley

South Africa have already qualified for the semi-finals. So the match is not important for them.

Well, it is not a good idea for a team who has qualified for the semi final of the world cup, to play irresponsibly and lose the last match before the big semi final match. This is never a good idea and South African teams know this and they have bowled well and now are 57 without wicket loss.
Quinton de Kock who has been in superb form for the South Africa is again looking good at 33 while being helped by this co-opener and captain Temba Bavuma at 18.

Earlier Azmatullah Omarzai remained not out at 97. I seriously wished he should have made his century, He was too good today and fought well against the South African bowlers. The World Cup journey will end for Afghanistan today.
1579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: For Newbies Interested in Gambling on: November 10, 2023, 01:39:16 PM
Some newbies in their bid to earn quick money flaunt some gambling rules by engaging in some unhealthy gambling habits such as betting with more than 50% of their funded account, insisted on continue to gamble despite incurring some heavy losses, of course there are many discussions and topics on this issues, most importantly gambling with the amount of money a gambler can afford to lose, also gambling should be played for fun thus serves as alternative source of income, Money management should be adopted when gambling to avoid getting addicted, Moreso for soccer betting aiming for small odds or accumulation would guarantee consistent winning if a proper match analysis is done.

What ever you have mentioned are the don'ts of gambling but newbies because of their ignorance try these wrong habits in gambling and thus lose their money in gambling. Some may leave gambling after making loss that gambling is a scam while other may continue and keep on losing more money with the hope to win big money someday.

If somehow the new gamblers first try to learn more about gambling and its best practices, so that they do not face such awkward situations.

Sometimes i think that the gambling site can also provide some do and don't in gambling on their site to remind the gambler to be responsible but then i think that why would the gambling site do that, they won't care if the gamblers lose more money.

First of all, I was not expecting anyone outside the pig-4 to qualify for the semi-finals. Even then, South Africa managed to qualify, thanks to some splendid batting from their star players such as Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen.

One of the Pig 4 team, England disappointed a lot and are almost down at the table. I think no one from the Pig 4 plus the England teams themselves would have thought of such a pathetic performance by them.

Anyways today Afghanistan are batting first after winning the toss and they are struggling full time against South Africa and currently, the score is 146 for 6 wickets down. Although the top order batsmen didn't play well but Azmatullah Omarzai is looking good at 46. Afghanistan may not be able to make a big total but he should make his fifty and rightly deserve so.

Lungi Ngidi, Gerald Coetzee and Keshav Maharaj, all of them took 2 wickets each and South African bowlers really bowled well in this final match of the World Cup before the semi finals.
