Yes, no Matthew Wright because he is out of the country, so it's a big task for the Phoenix to upset a good team like Ginebra. As expected, it's Ginebra who are taking the lead as they are dominating early, and since they are a good 2nd half team, I already expect that they will have a big win here. Yup, uphill climb for Phoenix to upset Ginebra in this game but i just hope this will be a close game to cover the spread for the Phoenix side lol, a 9-point win for Ginebra is okay for me. BTW, whatever the outcome of this game Ginebra will be locked at the number 4 or 5 spot wherein they face Meralco in the quarters and SMB in the semis so yeah this is an exciting playoff run for the Kings this series as they will be facing a highly motivated SMB whose mission is to take the AFC crown from them. |

Not sure if this will add a pressure on Golovkin shoulder as he is being force to defend his WBA belt against Lara regardless of the outcome of the fight.
So after the fight with Canelo, he will be given 5 days which belt he want to keep. And if he wanted to go down to 160 lbs, then him and Lara are being ordered by the WBA to have one unified champion. Lara is the "regular WBA" champion.
Pressure is always there because everyone wants to win, but this fight could give GGG more money than the fight defending his belt, so I think he knows how to handle this. Let's wait for the outcome of GGG and Canelo first, then we would know what would be GGG's next action. True, but that is the problem with this ABC belts now, they have a lot of champions, regular, interim, super champion, champion emeritus so it hardly matter for now. So win or lose, I doubt that GGG will be force somewhat to fight his mandatory or whatever they call it to have one champion. The focus for him right now is Canelo and that's what he is going to concentrate whatever WBA orders him, it doesn't matter for now. WBA ordering GGG to fight his mandatory challenger means that his bout with Canelo this September is not sanctioned by them so before GGG loses to Canelo they are trying to make money out of him (through sanctioning fees) if ever GGG heeded to their call but I doubt Team GGG will do that as his chance for the trilogy is one in a million and besides he is running out of time now. |

Why is it that there is no discussion of the progress of our beloved Gilas in the ongoing FIBA Asia Championship Cup?  Japan vs Gilas in a few hours, odds are not favoring the Philippines and the spread is quite high so if you are still a believer of Gilas then this is the time to push that bet button lol. Personally, I'm having a hard time choosing whom to bet but being a patriot, I choose Gilas +13.5 @1.95 (boosted), I'm just hoping that they will make this game as close as possible because winning against Japan is a slim possibility with the current state of our Gilas team. |

About the issue with Matthew Wright, there are a lot of speculation going out on social media, some said he will be playing in Japan while I also read an article saying that he is open to playing back in the PBA but with a new team, championship team to be exact so I won't be surprised if he will be donning a TNT or SMB jersey when he is back playing in the PBA.
So what would happen to the salary cap? I believe Matthew Wright considers himself as a superstar so he would demand a high salary. Salary cap won't be an issue if the big companies in the PBA will work, they always get what they wanted and besides SMB and TNT are now rebuilding their respective team so they might consider trading for Matthew Wright for some bench players like they always do lol. |

Meralco defeated SMB 89-86.
Great win by Meralco, I thought SMB would just dominate them but they played hard and upset the number 1 team.
SMB now is 9-2 but still number 1 in the standing, with this win, the ranking of Meralco has improved.
No matter what's the outcome of that game, SMB will remain at the top and the twice-to-beat advantage going into the quarters so I stay away from that game mate because i'm a fan of SMB, and in my mind, I have a feeling that they will lose and lose they did hehe.

I say just average performance by Ryan, sure the power is there, but I think Davis has more power than Ryan. He doesn't have that head movement, he just keeps coming straight. And if he fight like that against Davis, who is very cerebral in the ring, for sure he will get knock out by that. It's a win though so no question about it, but it's just a so so performance and everyone expected that he should knock out Fortuna which he did.
I think under Goosen, he learns how to tuck his chin now and becoming more of a body puncher. The first punch was a fake head shot and then Fortuna covered upstair, so Ryan go down and hit him perfectly, so that's good if he can developed that and not head hunting first at least to throw his opponent in the beginning. As for the Tank, Ryan said that he is no longer going back to 135 as well, so if there is a chance that a mega-fight between him and Davis happen, it will be in this weight limit now and it's up to his camp whether to accept it or force Ryan to 135 and drain him. I think that liver shot/punch is common in the wards of Reynoso. I've seen videos of Canelo and Ryan Garcia when he was still in the wings of Reynoso practicing that shot and if i'm not mistaken, that was the same shot that took Campbell down for good. I agree, this was just a normal performance for Garcia and you could see his flaws there and if they won't change that, it could be disaster for them if they face Tank Davis next which i don't think will happen this year because of weight issue. Ryan said that he would not be coming back to 135 and i can say that Davis is just too small for that division and Ryan might exploit that height advantage. It's a blessing in disguise that i'm too busy lately that i have not put my bet for this fight  . |

I have read on my social media newsfeed where coach Topex announced right after their blowout win against Converge that it was Wright's final game in the PBA.
If indeed this was true then it could be that Wright will be playing in Japan B-League where rumors came out last year.

This could be good to see if Fortuna will pursue and man his words, surely a toe-to-toe fight is what the people wanted to see and we will see if Ryan have some improvement this time.
I hope so because that is the only way for this to be an entertaining fight. Ryan Garcia is surely the heavy favorite, but who knows, upset could happen in boxing anytime, so it's not a guaranteed win by Garcia if Fortuna will show that he can match the skills of Garcia. Upset is very slim on this fight because if indeed it would happen then it will be over for Ryan Garcia's career, I mean he would start from scratch as he doesn't have the ace to call out the champions of his division. I do think that he will be careful in the first few rounds and see if Fortuna's power would hurt and if not then he would go all out in the second half but i do hope that Fortuna would survive the onslaught as i'm leaning towards a Garcia win via decision @3.25  . |
