161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A lot of newbies buying the wrong coin. Be carefull! on: February 10, 2018, 09:54:50 PM
Getting advice or information from those that have experience in crypto investment will reduce this to the nearest minimum. Also, buying coins that have already been established in the market will go a long way in helping us.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good Altcoin for longterm investment on: February 08, 2018, 09:51:25 PM

Bitcoin
Ethereum
Ripple
Golem
Factom

Out of these, I have only invested on bitcoin. But with my market studies on the rest of the coin and some other ones, they are reliable coins for long term investment.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ICO or buy later on exchange ? on: February 08, 2018, 09:37:20 PM
If there a strong assurance that the coin will have a promising future, then ICO is better. However, in a situation where many project developers are not serious, their intention is just to get money from people and run away.

For the beginners like me, I prefer to buy later when I can point those coins that are stable with high market value.
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you ❤️ crypto??? on: February 07, 2018, 04:44:57 PM
I love crypto because it's a sure way of bettering the huge number of lives that corrupt and greedy politicians have wrecked. Crypto is an investment that gives even the less privileged the opportunity of becoming great in the society. I know a lot my friends that have completed and furthered their education through crypto.  Crypto has limitless benefits especially to those of us who are less privileged.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do u follow what politicians say about cryptocurrency? on: February 07, 2018, 04:22:59 PM
I follow what they say at times just to feel their pain of jealousy. A lot politician talk about cryptocurrency in my country almost everyday. These are just greedy and corrupt people who doesn't want the good of others. They know crypto is bettering the lives of many across the globe. All they know how to do is criticise crypto at their respective house of assemblies, they cannot succeed.  News of policians on crypto should not bother us or prevent us from investing in crypto.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will this outrageous downfall of crypto continue? on: February 07, 2018, 04:07:48 PM
It will not continue, all these challenges are just mere threats from government agencies of different countries. This will soon be over and crypto will bounce back.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to Buy? on: February 07, 2018, 03:34:05 PM
To me, there is no really best time to buy. It depends on purpose whether short term or long term investment.  However, every week at least once a week the market will go down a bit in price due to holders selling or trading their coins. That's normal. But to have a crash happen just last month and have the prices go down even further from the weekly sellers makes it a great time to buy crypto of all kinds.

Another large factor that has to do with prices is Bitcoin. If Bitcoin has a bad week, more than likely the rest of the coins will have a bad week as well. It's only to our advantage to buy while they are cheap.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO is new way to get Free money? on: February 05, 2018, 07:49:23 PM
Well, that's not totally correct actually because there are a lot of ICO projects that are not really real. The aim of many founders is just to make huge initial sales and run away. However, even with the ICO projects that are real, it's not totally free money because I would have used my time, IQ, energy, data and some other things to promote them. So, it's not totally free.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is usdt?? on: February 03, 2018, 03:23:57 PM
Even the information I found about this usdt I don't understand at all, so I can't just come here and be posting something I don't understand, I guess full member, hero member or legendary can have some easy to understand information for us. Will be glad to know. Thanks.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What I do before buying an altcoin! on: February 03, 2018, 03:09:56 PM
Main rule in altcoin trading is don't buy at peak price and never sell on dip being panic as well as don't go with hype over chat rooms in exchangers.
You should have to do a deep research for the coin in which you want to invest and have to wait for it for a few weeks to monitor its volume of trade on exchanges and its potential after that try to invest there.
Seek advice from experienced cryptocurrency investors.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Long term vs. Short term on: February 03, 2018, 02:52:35 PM
Long term and short term investment has to do with the need of individual. Both are good in my opinion. Some people cannot invest in long term probably because of their overwhelming responsibilities. For me, I want to have investment in both. Long term investment pays a lot if we can hold on. A friend of mine sold all the tokens he got from a particular bounty for #400,000 naira. 2 months later, the equivalent of what he sold became 14million naira. At times we need to hold on for some time.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to participate in ICO's? on: February 03, 2018, 02:42:39 PM
It is very save to participate in ICOs but the issue is that there is nothing on earth that is 100% save. The fact is that we just have to look out for some coins with bright future using some strategies because a lot of coins don't stay long in market and some do not even enter market at all. However, it will do us a lot of good if we invest in more than one coin. At least if one fails, we will still have rest of mind on others.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is ICO ? on: February 02, 2018, 10:00:27 PM
An Initial Coin Offering, also commonly referred to as an ICO, is a fundraising mechanism in which new projects sell their underlying crypto tokens in exchange for bitcoin and ether. It’s somewhat similar to an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in which investors purchase shares of a company.
ICO is a form of token that the coin developers give to every that campaigned for the launching of the coin. After the campaign, a percentage of the coin is distributed to all  who campaigned. Someone can sell it off or keep it.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Strategy to invest in crypto ? on: February 02, 2018, 05:18:18 PM
There will be a few cryptocurrencies that will be great investments. Bitcoin has already shown us the potential.

But the majority of coins will fade away. Since nobody knows which ones will be huge winners and which ones will be epic fails, I believe that the best investment strategy is to have a portfolio of currencies.

Putting all of your eggs into one basket might be a disaster. You don't have to understand every single technical detail of each currency. However, you should read a lot about a currency that you want to invest in and make a very informed decision.
175  Economy / Speculation / Re: WHAT IS CAUSING BITCOIN TO DROP?????????? on: February 01, 2018, 09:17:03 PM
I think one of the reasons why BTC is dropping is as a result of a lot of threats from government of different countries. For example in my country, the legislatives have been shouting they wanted to have a sitting on regulating the activities of cryptocurrecy. Honestly I don't know their problems, and I will not be surprise to find many of these people investing in BTC.  If people succumb to this threat, it might lead to decrease investing in BTC hence, there will be a drop.

176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to promote Bitcoin on: February 01, 2018, 08:29:36 PM
One of the ways to promote bitcoin is to take pain of educating people on bitcoin investment because some people are laggards, you need to educate them over and over again before they respond especially when it comes to online investment.
A lot of people associate bitcoin with either a lot of buzzwords that nobody seems to understand or an overly simplified way of saying it, "it's internet money,"and it really draws them away from the space. What we need to do is draw people by telling them how interesting Bitcoin really is, and there's not just Bitcoin there's an entire market where you can make thousands in a day by just making smart investments.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The advantages of bitcoin on: February 01, 2018, 08:09:28 PM
There are a lot of advantages in bitcoin, I just want to talk briefly about the freedom in payment.  With Bitcoin it is very possible to be able to send and get money anywhere in the world at any given time.
You don’t have to worry about crossing borders, rescheduling for bank holidays, or any other limitations one might think will occur when transferring money.
You are in control of your money with Bitcoin. There is no central authority figure in the Bitcoin network.
178  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Online Dating on: January 30, 2018, 08:35:14 PM
I know a lot of online dating sites exist but I have never tried one. I used to be afraid that even someone that you see almost everyday still betray someone let alone someone you are just seeing his/pics. Anyway that is just my opinion, I'm not saying online dating is not good.
179  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: January 30, 2018, 05:59:00 PM
The best way to use money is to invest it. From the law of currency, currency is something that is current, that is, is not stagnant, it is moving and this is possible through investment. I used to crack a joke with my friends that if you save money then you are breaking the law of currency.
180  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you going to pay taxes? on: January 29, 2018, 06:59:24 AM
Yes I'm going to pay tax. One of the problems still facing my country is that majority run away from contributing their quota to the government by paying taxes. Many believe that everything is government's responsibility. If we expect good infrastructure, better standard of living, institutions, then we must be diligent in paying our taxes. I'm ready to pay tax as at when due.
