So after 36h the cache is over 90% (90-94% depending on unit). On the August and July FW. Its the same.

...
Do your units all hash well?
Yes, no problems at all.

Interestingly now some miners are at 99% memory usage. After 34h. But still hashing fine!
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon releases A9 Zmaster 50ksol/s Equihash miner at 620W on: September 04, 2018, 12:22:39 AM
After nearly 24h, I can tell that on the August FW I am getting 1% rejects, on the July FW I am getting 2% rejects. One could say its 1% less. Marketing guys would say its a 50% decrease of rejects. Wink
Concerning power: I am running 2 units on one PSU (same models). I am getting 1322W - 1325W for 2x A9 with August fw. As I observed it, it dipped some times for a moment under 1000W. 2 units with the July FW gives me 1320-1324W. As I observed, the dips occured here also, but not that frequent and not that severe. I am using TP-Link Smart plugs.

For me they use the same power. I can not tell the difference. Maybe the lower temps are because of the fans.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon releases A9 Zmaster 50ksol/s Equihash miner at 620W on: September 03, 2018, 07:34:37 PM
Due to maintenence, it came that I powered on all the miners at th esame time. So after 12 hours nearly everything is identical. No reboots or freezes, 12h uptime on all miners of the 6th July and 28th August firmware.
Cache is exactly the same on all. Power consumption on performance+ vs performance (July fw) are about the same.

Only fans spin a bit faster on the August fw (5-10%) and the temps are about 5° lower. Ramping up, as reported, takes very long on August fw.

The hashrate graphs look smoother on the August fw because it shows past 12h, the July fw shows only past 4h. So dont get distracted by the smoother graphs.

Thats it for the last 12h. I will see now which unit freezes or restarts first.

which pool you use?
Nicehash at the moment.

Hey guys,
I ordered one E3 the day it came out. Regarding Bitmain, payment was received 9th of April. And my unit is still not shipped? Really? Even batch 4 guys are going to get their units shipped soon.

Anyone from first batch, who did not get the E3 yet?

Rgeards

So not only I got my unit ridiclously late although batch 1.
Now 3 of the 9 chains are gone, seems like defective hashboard. And the rest schows status "CC". Any ideas?

I managed to update half of my miners with the new firmware. The other half has still the 6th of July version.
With the new firmware I get only 45kSols in Factory mode. Performace+ mode gives me 53kSols. With the 6th of July firmware I am getting 53kSols on any Perfomance settings. I set them to performance, just for the better feeling. Benefit of the old firmware is the faster ramping up to full speed.

So 6th of July compared to the recent firmware seems to be superior in my opinion, except if the new firmware shows less rejects on long term. I will see. Also we will see if they fixed the memory bug.

I'd be very curious to see if this fixes the memory leak issue. Interested to hear your results.
It seems not. But I dont know a sufficient way to tell, rather than looking at the uptime and the memory used.
In general I dont unterstand why it is such a big problem. It restarts the mining process automatically. I never had big problems, except the dip in hashrate. To keep the dip short, you should use the faster ramping up firmware. The new one seems not to be better.

Hashrates are the same. The performace settings are a joke. In every version I tested so far.

Yes, nothing is special in this firmware except the low temperature. I turned back to the old firmware.

You are right.
Fan speed is 5-10% higher, Temperature is about 5°C lower.
Power consumption seems 100W higher while ramping up. When max hash reached, it is 10-20W higher with the new firmware. As far as I can tell.

Tried on one miner. Installation hangs at 92%. After power off and on everything normal on old firmware. I dont know if it was a one time problem.
Also filesize is the same as old firmware. Maybe its just a reupload again.
170  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Bitmain coupons 12x 55$ on: August 28, 2018, 02:50:53 PM
Still have 200$ coupon?
No, at the moment only 55$. I did not hear about Bitmain releasing bigger coupons these days. But I am not sure.
171  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Bitmain coupons 12x 55$ on: August 28, 2018, 02:06:27 PM

What are you asking for your coupons?
Hit me up with an offer.

So is upgrading the firmware only possible via SD card?
I get the same error. It does not work with either of the both files.

edit:
So basically, I draw the controlboard back, insert the prepared SD card and boot up the miner. Right? Anything else?

Here is what I did exactly:
-I formatted an 8 GB micro SD card with FAT32 and extracted the files from the SD firmware file onto it.
-I ended up with a xilinx folder, a runme.sh and a ubi_info file on the card.
-I turned off the miner disconnected the ethernet and put in the SD card in the slot. Then I set the R4 Jumper to the other position and powered the miner on.
-I waited some minutes but the lights did not flash as described.
-I also tried this procedure with disconnected hashboards.

So i set the jumper back and rebooted the unit normally with the old firmware.

2 went online on 2nd of July
1 on 18th of July
an another 1 on 20th of August

What was the first price and MOQ back then in June?

The first price was $10,000 USD for 1 and MOQ was 1 unit. Quickly after, coupon came to get another for $2,500. I had to pay massive 30% customs fees for those first as well.

I have had all 5 online before August. Started June 22.

How are you almost break even already?

Nearly break even. I also did not have to pay that much fees. But better than with my one Antminer B3 I bougt or the X3.

I bought the first 2 units in June and the other 3 in July.

Is that Batch #1?

 Cool

I am nearly break even. So either BTC (because I exchanged) has to go up or September mining should be over 30-40$, then I think I am fine. But still: You are right, it is not the crazy profit you would expect. But we had a bear market. Imagine we mined like this 1 year ago.

...
Any optimism or hope or reason you can send my way?  Undecided

Depends on what batch you bought  Wink

random question!

how many units are coming on September in total?

by how much the difficulty will increase?

Thank you

Who knows. There will be a lot! I think profit will drastically crash since there are several companies releasing Equihash miners.

So is updating to recent firmware worth it? Any noticable differences?
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon releases A9 Zmaster 50ksol/s Equihash miner at 620W on: August 11, 2018, 03:52:15 PM
Since everyone is waiting for someone else to try the new firmware  Wink

With the new firmware it took about 35 mins for the A9 to ramp up to 50 ksol, but hash rate graph was much smoother than before after that. Fan speed is still between 15-25% and share accepted rate is 94-95%.

I have updated one for testing. Ramping up to 50k Sols took much longer. So far I could not see a difference. Maybe they fixed the memory bug?
180  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to Overclock Your Autotune Antminer S9 on: August 11, 2018, 02:15:10 PM
From my findings, and i work full time with these machines.. i found that the FF firmware, the fans seem to run a little slower, roughly say on autoFreq at 78+ the fans run at 5800/6000 where on the FF650 the fans seem to run at approx 4600rpm.. hence quieter, but that bit hotter..so the autoFreq i feel is for a cooler ambient temperature, i am in a location where my ambiant is the same as yours, i am on autofreq now, but when the season changes il load up FF650 and bring the freq up to sat 725/750.. get that bit more hash power but keeping the units cool at the same time, but in this heat that we have currently in the uk i am staying on autofreq.
hope that helps. J Smiley

Ok, that was helpful, thanks!

So you think its not some kind of incompatibility that causes the hashboards to just overheat.
