My guess is that we will actually(for once) see a real cryptocurrency bubble as people flock to buy Litecoins for "cheap," as they missed out on buying cheap bitcoins. Then once the price has risen substantially, it will crash, and people will again turn to bitcoin and wonder why they bought litecoin in the first place. Maybe...

earlyer today i dumped half my coins. then put buy orders in at 101, 90, 80, and hail marry 60, now with it going up a bit....or at least steady at 115-120 did i just loos in the game of catch the dead cat?
i want bitcoins to shoot to the moon but i cant deny the pattern of a ball that has been thrown in the air and now bouncing but with each bounce loosing the kinetic energy it once had.

You have a coin which is driven purely by speculation and has no actual services built for it. It exists in a vacuum of other speculators and miners who all want to get rich and don't want to be the ones left holding the bag  It is a currency. Currencies have speculation. The fact is that Litecoin and Feathercoin both are the most female-friendly coins in terms of their names, and conservative nature. female friendly names?? conservative nature?? lol anyway cant wait when this retargets in 16 hours... I hate how it's LTC/BTC, which essentially means (where I'm from) LTC per BTC, which would be the inverse of what it is said on BTC-E.. It confuses me every time..
In other words, the current rate of 0.03179 is the amount of BTC you need to pay per LTC, right? therefore it's BTC/LTC and not LTC/BTC which would be 1/0.03179 or 31.46..

Litecoin is a scheme to water down the value of Bitcoin by producing a 400million coins and then taking away the miners. Litecoin is an inferior coin because theres over 400 million.

Why are you investing in a copypaste coin based on btc?
the only diference is that ltc cant be mined in asics (maybe in the future)
and that and confirm times are 2.5mins (less secure, and needs more confirmations), do you think that the 10mins confirmation time was choosen randomly by satoshi?
and the silver to gold, as litcoin to bitcoin doesn't make any sence, bitcoin is divisible by 8 decimals, and gold is not.

I'm not looking to start an argument about Litecoins or Bitcoins. Luke is right. The only reason people buy it is to make a profit off how volatile it is. Don't kid yourself in thinking it is as good as bitcoin. Think in terms of all of the COD clones, did they ever actually succeed in being the new popular game? No, because they brought nothing substantially new to the table. COD always won over the market, just like bitcoin does and will.
Agreed. I encourage people to mine LTC if it's profitable for them to do so, but it's sad that some people are actually investing in Litecoin. Litecoin and other near-exact Bitcoin clones have no chance of going anywhere, and it's a tragedy that people are spending time on them rather than Bitcoin or an altcoin that actually improves significantly on Bitcoin. There are so many interesting things that an altcoin could do, but people waste time on these tiny Bitcoin modifications... All I know is I see a lot of butthurt from very big names in the Bitcoin community. Saving your words for after LTC hits Gox. You do know it is going to Gox right? I believe this is where we are: "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win." We are about to move to win folks. Cheers. |
