161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rest In Peace, ICO Bounty Programs on: December 14, 2017, 01:36:28 PM
Yeah it doesn't make sense to me either. Maybe it's more of a click bait article then anything but it got me thinking, then annoyed, so i thought I would get the thoughts of the bitcointalk forum about it
SEC thought if The world is owned by US.  Roll Eyes They have good enough to make another joke. Rather than complaining about the bounty and that depends on the personal opinion about that. So many times SEC try to banned bitcoin. But that's just another bullshit. US is only a country and not the world. Just like jamie dimon. how majority of the high profiles in US like to make a joke.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What are your thoughts on IOTA on: December 13, 2017, 11:37:08 PM
Hello

I recently started reading about IOTA and it's benefits vs blockchain technology, mainly no TX fees and a even more decentralized by removing the miners from the equation, and it has several high-profile companies behind it.

So, what are your thoughts on this new altcoin? Is it worth investing on?
So if there will be miners to give the decentralization of the iota network and that what already used by IOTA to verification the transaction to avoid the vulnerability? It looks to use the server to act just like miners.
A lot of discussion about that but it looks another centralized coin.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Mercatox - possible megascam on: December 13, 2017, 11:35:21 PM
I always thought that the mercatox website was extremely unprofessional looking, and as a result, only traded there once.  It reminds me of liqui and just gives me bad feelings.  I'm sure the exchange will be back, but perhaps you should question whether or not you trust your money there longer term.
In my opinion that just like a website that creates a kid and why as you can see how the website is not userfriendly. A lot of my friends are saying about too difficult to deposit in there and the webpage is not good.
Just pick your amount and move to another major exchange.
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Envion on: December 13, 2017, 11:33:36 PM
Hello guys,
What do you think about envion ico ?
I think that looks difficult to envion reach the hardcap since the developer was putting very high hardcap. It looks difficult to compete with another ico. I suggest you join in another ico that was not putting high hardcap to the ico. there will be a lot of rooms to grow. You can take a lot of advantage from it.
165  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Futures - the beginning of the end...? on: December 10, 2017, 10:29:48 PM
Will the 'big money' of investors be spent 'betting' on Bitcoin prices, and not actually invested in Bitcoin in the future?  Could this be the begining of the end for this 'speculative bubble' that we seem to be in at the moment?

Maybe we won't see the price of Bitcoin continually rising in 2018 as it did in 2017...?

 Sad
It will be applied to the companies that were feeling doubt with the legalism of the bitcoin. The bitcoin futures become the alternative contract for them all to play with the crypto. but remember the futures contract is not giving anything to the bitcoin. the more speculators will come from there.
166  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Volatility A Bad Thing? on: December 10, 2017, 01:46:04 PM
The price of bitcoin is determined by the flow of demand and supply. Every currency has some volatility. Whenever the demand and supply flow disturbs and volatility increases then government or central authority interments and regulates the same. Bitcoin is a decentralise currency it has no central authority to regulate it, as a result it moves sharply on up and down side resulting huge loss and profit for its investors. Limited volatility is good for the health of any currency but uncontrolled volatility is a bad thing for the development of any currency.
How do you imagine the controlled volatility of bitcoin? It seems to me that volatility is a thermometer that allows us to monitor the condition of the heating market. For many it becomes a source of income. Volatility is neither good nor bad. It's just a state with which we have to accept and learn to live with it.

Controlling bitcoin volatility is not possible technically, we're talking about a billion dollar market in bitcoin and it's not that easy to control its volatility. Whales make money from volatility.
The market manipulation is really possible since the bitcoin is about the speculation. I mean you can see the latest chart. How there are some people will a lot of bitcoin and then just dump it instantly to the market.
That will be possible to turn the market into the bearish or make others fear about the bitcoin chart.
167  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Currency related to insurance & medical on: December 10, 2017, 01:43:00 PM
For those already been here for a long time, have there been a project crypto where insurance and health and medical have been involved? I would like to know whether it was a fail or success. For research purposes.

Thanks!

I do not recall any specific crypto that has been developed for these fields, but I know it's been talked about.

https://www2.deloitte.com/us/en/pages/public-sector/articles/blockchain-opportunities-for-health-care.html

https://www2.deloitte.com/us/en/pages/life-sciences-and-health-care/articles/blockchain-in-insurance.html

Hope this helps.
It looks just another theory about the blockchain implementation into the health care and insurance. The distributed ledger can give the more alternavite to cut the middle part in those fields.
There are some icos that runs to develop the spesific development that related to the insurance and healthcare.

I can say that is still a theory without any implementation at least the development still in the progress.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why so many altcoins? on: December 09, 2017, 04:01:05 PM
hello!

why are there so many coins to choose from, do they really each have something unique about them?

They try to replicate Bitcoin and make a new coin better.

But all of us now who is the boss here. Grin
There will be more project to do a research how to resolve the scalability. i called that as another useless improvement. They are competing to reach the more demand by the crypto users. The fast transaction and cheap fees become the key in this moment.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Recent Ethereum network congestion: A retreatment proposal for the current state on: December 09, 2017, 03:59:49 PM
Scaling is not a new challenge neither for Ethereum nor for other cryptos and it is obvious that it won't be resolved in a matter of days or even months. But nowadays a network congestion is the last thing you want to experience wit Ethereum. Number of stakeholders have grown exponentially, regular traders, ERC20 token holders and issuers, Ico's , and now Cryptokitties. It is no longer about a technical controversy or an off-chain/on-chain scaling debate, at this very moment we are talking about people's funds worth billions and we have to act NOW!

Vitalik Buterin is in love with on-chain scaling and techniques like sharding, so it will be the future of ETH, I understand and I have no objections. Actually I like both approaches at once and I think they are not mutually exclusive but I think we have no time, ETh is the only working digital cash right now (the ETH network alone switches more transactions than other crypto blockchains summed up) and it is why unlike bitcoin and others scalability is not a mid-term  issue (bitcoin community has adopted by removing the whole 'cash problem' from its priority list and has focused on a 'store of value' mission).

I'm considering a robust short-term solution for the crisis which I'll publish in the next couple of days, meanwhile it seems an interesting subject to discuss, imo. So please join if you got one or two ideas to share. What urgent actions you might  recommend?

What's wrong? Ethereum has gotten mass adoption in this time. It seems the ethereum was holding almost 50% from the total crypto transaction. ERC20 token becomes a world wide trend in this time.
Dapps just like crypto kitties give a real value about the ethereum blockchain. Ethereum is only digital cash to invest in the ico or play with dapps like crypto kitties. but remember the bitcoin was aiming to be the crypto that has the actual use by the way.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin fork in december on: December 09, 2017, 03:56:13 PM
I heard some people are talking about all new three forks.
Any news for new forks?
It will come few weeks later, There is a lot of forks in this month. some people are predicting about there will be around 5 forks coin in this month. but the date still to be announced. Super bitcoin and there are some kinds of another new bitcoin forks.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in a new ICO or just buy BTC on: December 08, 2017, 03:56:17 PM
The answer to your question really depends on your risk tolerance, and how you balance it with the potential to make money.

Let me give you an analogy that you might find interesting, between the crypto world and the financial world:
  • Bitcoin would be gold.
  • Previous successful ICOs are like the stocks on the stock market (except you cannot buy shares), existing businesses with an ongoing project.
  • New ICOs are like businesses raising VC money.

Investing in the ICO stage of a new [Suspicious link removed]pany can be risky, like angel/VC investing can be. However, returns can be huge.
Buying tokens of existing blockchain projects, like buying shares of a specific company, is less risky, but still contains your investment inside a single entity. Possibility of huge returns is decreased by a lot.
At last, buying bitcoins, much like buying gold, is even less risky. Forget about any huge returns, but keeping for a long time might be an interesting investment strategy.

Of course, this analogy presents its own limits and should be taken with a grain of salt.
But to get huge return through ico you must have done a proper research about that. My friends gain $500k just in a month through invest in the ico. Because the key was the early pump after listed on the exchange site. For the major value and bitcoin seems a better choice.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: where to buy ETH on: December 08, 2017, 03:38:41 PM
I have been researching and feel I still need to post the question.  What are best resources to buy ETH these days?  It seems there really isn't any localbitcoin equivalent, which probably means an exchange. Any specific exchange recommendations. I was thinking Gemini but I see mixed reviews.  Thought I'd ask to see if there are any current reviews.
Binance as the recomended site. but why don't you just try to visit the coinmarketcap and you will be see a lot of the exchange site list that already accepted ethereum. Just like bitfinex and bittrex. Or you can try another such as kraken exchange site. Hitbtc and binance was better choice.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Ethereum Wallet doesn't work? on: December 08, 2017, 03:35:29 PM
I'm trying to sync for weeks now, Ropsten and Main network, light, fast or normal. Nothing works. I have latest version of everything and Mac. Why is Ethereum so bad but so widely used? How to fix that problem?
You must try to check about is your wallet supported the ethereum hardfork? You can try to use the simphony. and that was easy for use. vitalik siad about it's just light wallet and that will not take large size for your hard drive. You can try to visit the ethereum github page.

Ethereum is a plattform (https://ethereum.org/).
There are quite a few wallets to store ether and tokens inside. You have to be more specific.
So you either 1) mistakenly posted in this subforum or 2) you are takling about electrum (https://electrum.org/#home).
Ethereum wallets which are reputable do work as intended. I am not aware of any errors/bugs/disruptions.
In case of electrum, i can't really help you without more information. Do you have the official electrum wallet installed? Did you verify it?
A few more informations and the corrections of your ambiguous statements would be helpful.

I'm talking about creating smart contract inside Ethereum's wallet Mist
But looks the new dapps was disturbing anything in ethereum network. I think that it caused by the cryptokitties.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins bleeding... What is happening? on: December 07, 2017, 04:04:43 PM
People are dumping their coins in order to buy btc. Dont worry, it will recover in few days especially the top 10 alts.
They are worrying to miss the bitcoin moment. Majority of them don't care about the lost that they can get through sold all of their coin in the random price, How people are going crazy in these days.
Bitcoin gains more and more value just in short time. $20k at the end of this month looks possible.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will altcoin go up or down on bitcoin crash? on: December 07, 2017, 04:03:16 PM
I think wait until the btc price is stable and altcoin prices will be stable again, but ad some hrga alcoin stable enough when the higher the btc price, it needs a little strategy just to not lose
It looks altcoin back again. The price of bitcoin increase just like a rollercoaster and that was really fast. Majority of the altcoins gets plunged a lot caused by the bitcoin. or this caused by the next hardfork of bitcoin to give the more shitcoin to the all of bitcoin holders.
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WILL ETHEREUM HIT $1000 SOON? on: December 07, 2017, 04:01:50 PM
Ethereum is stuck around 400-450 USD since months and i dont know why people nowdays are very excited that ethereum can go to 1000USD in just next couple of months...i dont think ethereum can go up that much very soon...i think it will grow slowly
If you have done to read all of the roadmap 2.0 of ethereum and you will be understand about that, First dapps already built in ethereum which mean the ethereum blockchain is having real usage in the future, But the only problem caused by the scalability was not enough to process the more transaction at the same time.
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So the first blockchain game is now live on Ethereum. Wow. on: December 06, 2017, 03:03:20 PM
ether cats are much more expensive than real cats
LOL buy you are very right mate. This doesn't make sense at all. how people are paying a lot of the money just for vistual cats with no purpose rather than buy the real cat. This just like they are betting on the next cat that they will earn from hatch the egg.
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Price drop hard, Why ? on: December 06, 2017, 02:55:04 PM
in Few days ethereum price is drop hardly in Bitcoin value, why ?
anyone know the causes ?

Thank you
Many people gets stressed caused by the cat whore on the cryptokitties site. This game just like another plague in the ethereum network. So many people in competition to make the more fast trasaction through put the more fees in their new transaction.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to ETHERDELTA? on: December 06, 2017, 02:53:58 PM
A transaction will take up to 24 hours in these days. ETH network is currently near death because the first D-APP has been released. It is really a pain in the ass but I hope ardr is going to fix this kind of issue with itīs technology.
I was happening with me, my transaction gets stucked on etherdelta and i can't do anything. I've increased the gas and i think that my gas amount can't touch the minimumgas price right now.
This caused by the cryptokitties. The current ethereum blockchain is not ready for that shittiest game.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitconnect Alternatives on: December 03, 2017, 02:56:45 PM
I was reading news about Bitconnect past few weeks and I was wondering if there are any services like that other than Birconnect?
And if any one knows which one is better?
There is a lot of the similar coin just like bitconnect but all of them are ponzi coin and that same as with the bitconnect itself. There is no a better ponzi coin and all of them are the worst project in this era especially for the big ponzi just like bitconnect.
