161  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: October 23, 2013, 10:02:36 AM
What would happen if I connected the second board to a second/different PSU (while the power stacking stays in place)? Would that  work or cause a short circuit or even damage the boards?

I have tried lots of ghetto-style connection setups including powering from different PSUs, different channels of a single PSU, different power connectors of the BTB (jack, ATX, power stacking connectors) at the same time. Nothing bad happened so far.

Once I even have accidentally missed the polarity when connecting power wires to stacking connector and burnt USB connector on my PC (with smell and smoke! Wrong polarity connection caused short circuit from PSU +12V to ground via the board, USB cable and PC). The BitBurner still working though!

burnin, is there any chance to see the firmware source code?

К примеру, заказываю 16 чипов + сборка. Какой срок исполнения? Что входит в компект?
P.S. Ожидается ли возвращение комплектов "собери сам"? Какой там уровень сборки? Паять надо?

вы имеете ввиду раздел DIY-KITS, пока что Out of stock - т.е. нет в наличии, т.к.

THE FIRST - 192шт ASIC Bitfury

Code:
Avalon: Fan1: 0/m, Fan2: 0/m, Fan3: 0/m  Temp1: 55C, Temp2: 55C, Temp3: 55C, TempMAX: 59C

What's the option in cgminer to see detailed stats like that?

roy

In the window, I press D for display options, and then V for verbose output (and then Enter to return to the main screen).
165  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: October 18, 2013, 03:56:43 PM
Is the fan speed actually controlled by cgminer or the firmware?
I see this in cgminer window:
Code:
Avalon: Fan1: 0/m, Fan2: 0/m, Fan3: 0/m  Temp1: 55C, Temp2: 55C, Temp3: 55C, TempMAX: 59C
However, I can hear that the fan speed actually changes but never gets to maximum (what I hear when the board is powered but not connected). Also, --avalon-fan and --avalon-temp options seem to have no effect at all. Using the latest cgminer on Raspbian. If the speed is controlled by the board itself, it would be great to see the firmware source code or at least the full communication protocol specs.

167  Local / Майнеры / Re: "ПРЕДЗАКАЗЫ" on: October 17, 2013, 03:49:54 PM

The only factor you haven't accounted for is BTC/USD ratio. If BTC goes to 1k$, it will subtract another order of magnitude from electricity and hardware prices (in BTC).

It would be nice to have an update since other people who have placed orders at Knc are already mining

Unfortunately, not with these order numbers yet: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=249065.0

Site Code 4 Sale!

Is that a kind of "closed" auction with private bids?

Site Code 4 Sale!
The code that ran btct.co and litecoinglobal.com is up for sale.  The sale will not include the servers, the domains, or any database data, but will include:

- The actual code that ran the site.
- Patch files for the custom patches made to bitcoind / litecoind.
- Example Apache config files.
- MySQL table schema as a *.sql.
- Cron scripts and example crontab files.
- Data import scripts.
- Data export scripts.  (including backup scripts)

Most of you probably already know this, but the API functionality is well utilized and has been integrated with many 3rd party projects and sites such as btcjam, various charting sites, several mobile apps, various trade bots, etc.  So you will get out of the box compatibility with many of the community's best works.

It can all be run on a single server but for performance and security reasons I recommend the following configuration:

- An apache / php / memcache / cronjob server.
- A hot wallet server. (behind a firewall that only allows incoming access from the webserver)
- A MySQL server. (also behind a firewall that only allows access from the webserver)
- A remote linux box to run the cold wallet / manual withdrawals.  (has to run the apache/php stack, plus local cold wallet, should be able to be taken offline between withdrawal processing runs.)

We highly recommend an complete understanding of crypto coin daemons, linux, apache, php, cron, memcache, mysql, encrypted filesystems, network firewalls, etc before trying to operate a site of this complexity and magnitude.

Unless the code is modified to conform with legal requirements of the United States Government, (probably not currently possible, but for instance, if you made up your own currency instead of using an established cryptocurrency it might be legal) any purchaser of the code will have to agree to block US citizens from any site utilizing the code.

If you are interested in the site code, please fill out the following and submit a bid via email to ceo@btct.co:

Name: (actual person's name)
Company:
Address: (street, city, province, postal code, country, etc)
Phone: (w/ country prefix please)
Email:

I agree to block US citizens: YES / no

Proposed use of the code:

Best possible offer:  XX BTC or XX LTC

LTC-GLOBAL revenue shares currently held:

Let us know via email to ceo@btct.co if you have any questions.

If we get a really great offer we may close bidding early.  Otherwise I expect bidding to run through Oct 21st, at which time we will evaluate the highest bids and a determination will be made as to whether the purchase price makes sense when weighed against the legal costs associated with assembling a purchase agreement.

Cheers.

I am curious.
70 shares per machine / 400GH (estimated hash rate at time of order) = 5.7 GH a share
Jupiters have been upgraded to 550GH so now it would be 7.85 GH / share
Am I correct on this?, or are you going to pocket that extra hash power?

This will be the only amount that you will ever be required for a 1/70th stake on 1 KnC Jupiter Mining Rig.
(bold emphasis by Adeel06)

However, I wouldn't rely on 550GH. I've mostly seen customer reports of 500GH so far.

Deprived, will you keep posting the daily reports?
174  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: October 10, 2013, 01:10:17 PM
[kind of offtopic]

Huge disappointment from Deutsche Post DHL regarding shipment to Ukraine! After crossing the border, instead of the national post carrier (Ukrposhta) parcels are delivered by DP-DHL's partner company Meest, which is full of shit. Sad

I will bet most likely no, according to current status. BitFunder is out, Havelock will be the same soon. I don't think Deprived will consider 796, picostacks, etc ..., and he said he does not want to take the trouble to manage by himself. What's other choices?

Maybe some simple trade engine managed by an anonymous trusted entity. Something similar to CoinLenders.

Hi all,

Could anyone that has a working SRC node or knows of one please add it to this thread so we can update the current list.

Thanks,

That begs the question - if btct is closing down and Bitfunder won't take US customers for much the same reason, where do you turn to if you need to look after US investors?

Maybe SEC? Grin

Dear SilentSonicBoom, Baloo_Kiev is interested to take over my 2 shares.
When I confirm his payment (I will do so by posting a signed message), could you please change the payout address on my name to the one he will provide?
Thanks and good luck to all with mining!
