I think you did one good thing by not investing more than you can afford to lose. There are so many people who put their life savings/taking loan for the purpose of the investment. They are now in financial disaster for their greed now.

1602  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's this word 'wanna' on: August 22, 2018, 02:52:35 PM
Learn to read before posting, and learn to write English, so that you can treat the forum with respect - what is this word "wamma wanna"?

I also used to think that it is the slang but look like this is now acceptable English word to represent the short form of "want to" or "want a".Definition of "wanna" already present in Cambridge and Merriam Webster.
I think it might be informal language of speech but I do not think Forum communication should be strictly bound by formal communication.

@OP. I think you got of suggestion for your want, so start following and working on it because only "want" will not help you to achieve anything.
1603  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie's Guide to Getting Merit (Proven) on: August 22, 2018, 05:01:33 AM
This is a place where a newbie can read posts created by satoshi, gmaxwell, Gavin Andresen, and many more bitcoin guru.

+ This is a place where community is too strong. You can get quality answer, warnings against scam all for free without any annoying notification and subscription.  There is some problem with spam but with time you understand what to read and what to weed out.

At first, 10 posts a week seems like nothing. But it will hinder your further learning development.
Join the campaign that suit the posting habit of yours. There is no force by forum to complete your bounty obligation (Forum is not going to ban or red trust you if you do not write 10 post) so even you join bounty do not get pressurized by it and continue on your learning path.
1604  Other / Meta / Re: Please help me on the issue of posting posts on: August 21, 2018, 06:59:58 PM

I think you need to go through the below threads first.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1684035.msg16904309#msg16904309

You can be temporarily/ permanently banned for the sig spamming.
1605  Other / Meta / Re: The Place of Knowledge in post replies on: August 21, 2018, 06:51:41 PM
Fact remains that in order to be of any relevance and of any use to this forum, some level of intelligence and knowledge is needed especially with the current merit system in place. Topics/posts have to be seen to well thought out and meaningful.

I am happy that you spot this very early as a newbie.

This makes me wonder, have you been ever confronted with a topic where you click the 'reply' tab and without a clue as to how to what to type in response and how to contribute meaningful, and this forced you to research some more about the subject matter before returning to post a reply?

Do not do this until you do not have a talent to explain in a better way, There is high probability that your answer is plagiarized then and you can be banned.  Better to provide the direct source link in these cases.

Reading will help and feel free to ask your question in correct forum boards. Make yourself aware with all the stickied post in the board you are posting and most topic start having duplicate replies after third page (until it is not an active discussion between OP and others) so yo can leave them.
1606  Other / Meta / Re: Community generated suggestions to improve the forum (+ eventual voting on them) on: August 21, 2018, 05:33:17 PM

Bitcoin discussion has become largely unusable. It's just full of farmers churning out their generic one liners. Go in any thread and play spot the farmer.

How many can you find on this page here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4820477.1140

All of them are farmer or sig spammer. Even reading 4 page of topic, there is nothing new in 58th page. It look bad that some of the accounts are Sr. member + that are doing sig spamming.  Now this Mega spam reached to 63rd page.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4868904.80

4 merit for swatting the 4 bots there.

Sorry, I am not able to spot bots. Maybe you can create a guide for spotting them ..

It is interesting to look in this profile, posted 4 to 5 time in this same topic and posted in russian too in this  English thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1858713

I think we really need to trash bounty threads that are asking to paste fb/twt bounty report in there thread.
1. They are increasing the length of the thread.
2. Giving unnecessary bump to thread.
3. It makes headache to manually go through this post History of these bounty hunters.

Just wondering, you are the Moderator of that board handling and reading so much of spam, I think autolock of thread after 5 page might bring relief to you.
1607  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Altcoin market Price on: August 20, 2018, 06:13:57 PM
Quote
Guys is that posible token price become 0 ?

0 in which unit. I think that only reach 1 satoshi/token. Can not reach 0 satoshi.

What do you say about Doge trading pair. Token value 0.00004499 Doge  is very subpar to 1 satoshi. On top of it even there is no trade happening on this value for more than 7 days then you can assume it as 0 value token. (because Coin market cap capture the last traded price).

BTW, I put the current price of SPRTS token "https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/sprouts/"  only exception is that it has still some thousand dollar worth of transactions.
1608  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How does one get into bounty managing? on: August 20, 2018, 05:58:38 PM
How do people get into bounty managing? Would love to hear from bounty managers.

At this moment , this  is a very saturated. No Bounty manager are accepting any one as an intern, forget about getting paid there. Fear of competition is real.

If you want to get into bounty management, thinking that it is a easy money job, than you are quite mistaken. Good Bounty managers put lot of effort. All lazy managers will be thrown out of market or will get red trust eventually for not doing the job.

There are so many people with "wanna to become Bounty Manager", I hardly think it might be now very high paying job.
Better to learn some programming skills/other skills for which you can paid all over the world not only in this forum.

1610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the First Bitcoin ETF Make the Crypto Market Even More Volatile? on: August 20, 2018, 04:14:25 AM

Article is based on  views of  Andreas Antonopoulos but did not cover all points

Edit: Adding below the views of  Andreas Antonopoulos

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSv0J4bfBCc&feature=push-u&attr_tag=GUmiDnU0TxDaahFh%3A6&ab_channel=aantonop

The main points from his video

1.When you own Bitcoin you own keys. You are in control of your Bitcoin. By ETF , you will not have any keys so you are not in control of your Bitcoin.

2.ETF owner/Custodian  will be a single holder of the Bitcoin. ETF holding so large amount of Bitcoin can easily manipulate the market.

3.If any debate going to happen in bitcoin (like Bitcoin cash ) in future then ETF custodian will have the voice but not the actual share holders.

4.Bitcoin ETF is a terrible idea but it might happen in future.

Actually Mr. Antonopoulos view is based on assumption that commodity market can be manipulated. I have no idea how true this statement is.

I guess every country took some measure so that market cannot be manipulated and it is a punishable offence.

---snip  ---

Actually the thread is as below:
♻️Do you need 1 merit become member from Jr. member? I would like to help you.

But you are not qualified because your activity are less than 60.

If you do not get that Merit till you reach your desired activity then feel free to PM me with your good post that do not have received a single Merit.
1612  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Problem with mining a bitcoin fork 'bad-cb-height rejected by the' on: August 20, 2018, 03:01:24 AM
Should should move the topic to the relevant section. I am bit confused whether this should go to the Bitcoin mining section as you are forking the bitcoin.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=14.0

or it should be moved to the Altcoin mining section because the coin created after the fork is Altcoin only

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0

Better you should move at Bitcoin mining first and let Moderator decide there.

1614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ✅ [ANN] Goodomy - From the Creator of the first ICO - v1.0 on August 24th!! on: August 19, 2018, 06:56:34 PM
It would be great if you could share more information about the project because I feel very interested in what you have written about, i consider it very profitable and actual today

Just read first 2 post of Kosmost in this ANN and whitepaper you will understand the concept.
Actually GOOD Dollar  will bring liquidity to the business and can be compared to the reward system but it will work for both consumer and business (Instead of only business awarding for discount to consumers now consumer can award GOOD $ to business so both got power.)

It is not feasible for small shops to run their rewards program and they can be benefited by GOOD dollar.
1615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction fee too low on: August 19, 2018, 06:20:08 PM
I saw you paid 3 satoshi per byte for a transaction that is not a low fees.
I see your transaction is already processed but fees are really so low that transaction having fees .5 staoshi per byte are also getting through. (so 3 is a kind of high  Smiley  )

1616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain without Bitcoin, is it going to happen? on: August 19, 2018, 05:43:40 PM
The volatility in Bitcoin is an avenue for traders to earn money, this arrangement puts Bitcoin ahead of the Blockchain tech. thereby delaying global Blockchain adoption.  Blockchain without Bitcoin, is it going to happen?

Blockchain adoption is already taken place. IBM has it own Blockchain offering.

https://www.ibm.com/blockchain

Oracle also has its own blockchain offering

https://www.oracle.com/cloud/blockchain/index.html

There are numerous project going on blockchain and I am not going to name all. None of these company using Bitcoin or taking bitcoin as a payment for their offering. Bitcoin volatility has no effect on success  these project.

For now it's highly unlikely that blockchain adoption will happen without bitcoin.
Everything depends on bitcoin performance for now.

These company has their own flavour of blockchain. Permissioned and restricted Blockchain. They are not going use the Bitcoin blockchain so they are not at all dependenent on Bitcoin performance.
1617  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] - Posting restriction for users wearing signature below Member rank on: August 19, 2018, 04:36:00 PM
Let me know if this has already been suggested or discussed and I will lock the thread immediately.

To reduce that, I suggest that any user, below Member rank, should be restricted from posting outsite the Bounties (Altcoins) sections if they are wearing a signature. They can still post freely in any section they want if they are not wearing a signature on them.

I do not think you brainstormed your idea properly. If Jr. Member is wearing signature is not able to post outside signature then what happen to Jr. Member post that is posted without signature and afterward user start using signature.  Would you delete those post then ?

Actually I feel correct solution is to increase Merit requirement to 10 merits for Jr. and 50 for the member.

It is really annoying to see such kind of topics
Need Help! Jr. Member
change to JR member
Activity 30 Rank newbie

They are  literally farming activities to become Jr. Member without taking part in any sensible discussion. Only motto to join this forum is to promote spam (bounties) and so impatient to become Jr. Member that they do not wait for couple of hours more for forum software to update their rank from newbie to Jr. Member.

On a contrary , I will like to suggest to disable signature of all users, who farmed 30 activity without getting a single Merit.
I believe , spam should be discouraged from all ranks, though percentage of people in other ranks are less but why should we read anybody's spam post?
1618  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need Help! Jr. Member on: August 19, 2018, 07:25:43 AM
So I am 3 activities away from being a Jr. Member..... Anyone here that can help me??? What would I do once I become a Junior Member

I think you better know yourself that why you joined this forum. Don't be shy , state your purpose then only people will able to help you.
As per forum rules, they do not ask you to do something different when you become Jr. Member.
I see you farmed all activities in Off-topic and it is not the intended use of the forum.
1619  Other / Serious discussion / Re: What would the top coins be if people were sane? on: August 19, 2018, 07:13:15 AM
I am very new to crypto currency  and still learning about BTC. If I have to make choice I will take STEEM as second one.

My take:
1. It has blogging platform where you curate and author and can get paid. Depending upon your investment you can get curation rewards
2. Anybody can use that platform whatever the background you have . You do not need to be crypto currency expert .
3. Steem Power can be leased to earn the interest , or if curation power is used intelligently then it is further increase in your steem power.

I think Steemit can be used with ease, al tough platform is too much monetized as using bots for upvoting is permissible there.
1620  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: August 19, 2018, 04:40:00 AM
30 years back, my father walked 23 miles or 34 kilometers to his office when he was age 47, since that day there was public transport strike.

34 kms! Wow! At the age of 47, that is really something. I don't think I can do that. I might collapse.

My father had blisters on his feet after walking 34 kilometers that day.

I'm sad because in the end your father's condition is like that, so how is't now? Can he still be able to do activities?

I find funny due to "since".  Somebody is concerned about   health of OP father for the incident that happened 30 years ago.
No body is worried about public  transport strike that now lasted for more than 30 years.
