1601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining on: April 26, 2022, 12:42:23 PM
Hi is nicehash the best option for mining? or are there better options out there?

Definitely not a bad choice if you want to do occasional mining. It's benchmarking feature helps to determine the best profitable coin based on your hardware. So it's pretty handy tool to start your mining journey.

Once you understand the best coin for you to mine, you can plan to step up using an enterprise grade softwares. But for amall miners, nicehash is really great!

Crypto is down ... very few are spending ...from my point of view

So it's time to buy more. It's an accumulation game! It's a great opportunity.

Web Design / Graphic Design / Programming / Marketing / Crypto dev is dead ...very few are buying and want small projects

Except crypto dev, everything else is booming at lightening speed. Web channels are getting more budget because retail sector is stagnant. E-com is the ongoing big thing.

It's not a madness like 2008. The world economy is more mature is handle a crisis like 2008. You just need to spot the opportunity.

1603  Local / India / Re: WazirX Founder & Co-founder have moved out of India? on: April 25, 2022, 07:29:10 PM
I have been following Nischal in Twitter and since the day this 30% taxation was introduced, I don't remember a single day when he didn't post against it. It was quite clear that he wasn't happy about this. So as a business he is not seeing a great potential of Wazirx in India.

I am not sure if he had moved out, but I believe that will be great for the future of Wazirx. Just the way Zebpay has moved to Singapore and now offering their crypto services to 30 countries, I wouldn't be surprised if WazirX finally closes out their offices in India and move abroad permanently. India is not a business friendly country and for crypto business, it is a shithole!
I doubt if it's true, he along with couple of big players were quite happy at the start that Government at least discussing this space and he had favorable opinion at the start but then he took a U-turn and rightly so. Saying this because i have noticed this pattern in his discord channel (talking about Shardeum) and couple of interviews.

------------------
Edit
I tried to find the conversation and his initial reaction when Gov introduced this law but i failed to find atm, so plz don't take my words for granted right now.

That's fine! He was initially happy because finally government started noticing cryptocurrency. Once the taxation was imposed, he thought that his struggle with payment processing companies will end. But that didn't happen! Banks and UPI providers are still not cooperating with Indian crypto exchanges.

Even though I don't use any Indian crypto exchange for rightful reasons, but after this 30% taxation, the volume seems to have dropped significantly. Probably that's when he started to re-think!
1604  Economy / Economics / Re: Ubi usa unversal basic income on: April 25, 2022, 05:44:28 PM
Usa only solution is ubi yes universal basic income.
It will make also life safer not so much crimes.

Free money sounds great unless you see the dark side of it. Look at Venezuela today and try to research why they have ended up in hyper inflation and what has happened in the background. When everything becomes free, people will stop working and that leads to a non functional nation. Not immediately but slowly!

Universal Basic Income is good for short term to increase demand in the market but can't be a long term solution.
1605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Hunt for new NFT project on: April 25, 2022, 04:30:05 PM
I am looking for new NFT project that has very good utility Do you have any project in mind that can be as good as APE NFT in future? What new NFT project you are presently into? Bored Ape Yacht NFT and other are just way too overpriced.

There is garbages all around in NFT market. So you never know which one will go viral and gambling will be played around it. There's one thing can do though.

Try to find out if any prominent and known artist has released NFT or not. Or try to find out if a celebrity has done the same or not. For easy money, you can buy those because these NFTs have an aspirational value and has a higher chance of succeeding.
1606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a good way to privately buy Bitcoin? on: April 25, 2022, 05:53:13 AM
With the rise of tracking of Bitcoin transactions by Coinalysis and stuff, keeping your Bitcoin pseudonymous seems harder these days. I normally buy through Coinbase Pro, but I was wondering if there is an easy way to buy Bitcoin privately, and without getting charged a premium? Only things I know of are Bitcoin ATMs and localbitcoins but pretty sure ATMs have a high fee and I don't want to have to go find an ATM everytime I want to buy anyway, and localbitcoins tend to sell at a large premium as well.

So is there anything like a decentralized exchange for Bitcoin where you can get current market price and exchange stablecoins with Bitcoin with other people? Or any other good buying option that preserves privacy?

If you want to buy large quantity of bitcoins, then I would recommend you to contact a miner instead of going to Decentralized exchange or p2p trading websites. This way, you know that you are getting a freshly mined bitcoin and also it will be anonymous.

There is a board where you can find bitcoin related trades as well,

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0

See if something interests you!

1608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Widespread adoption may result to lesser anonymity, one of my biggest fears. on: April 22, 2022, 03:53:09 PM
The biggest issue limiting most government consider and majorly the reason why bitcoins adoption has been slow is in my opinion the anonymity involved and the inability for government to directly be a party to your transaction.
If there were no such issues, gaining widespread adoption will not even be a topic for discussion as it would have happened already or almost done being adopted I think.

Can the governments of the world let bitcoin become fully in use in their respective countries without pushing for lesser anonymity and a way for them to monitor the system?

That's the main pain point for the governments behind their slow movement in making a decision about cryptocurrencies. Banking system is a fully trackable system and work closely with the government agencies. With cryptocurrency, anyone can maintain anonymity if he/she isn't buying from a centralized KYC enabled exchange.

That's why every government is trying to bring in regulations around it. Tgey are not allowing centralized exchanges to operate without having a robust kyc system. Tax reports burdens are increasing etc. I believe that's the way forward here because governments won't allow anything that lowers their control on money circulation.
1609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are new bitcoin users early or late to the party? on: April 22, 2022, 12:15:33 PM
I feel like I'm too late and the btc price is literally just gonna go sideways forever. Or maybe a slow gradual push up. Maybe in 20 years it will be worth half a mil.

I dont think we're gonna see anymore gains like people of the 2010s and 13s experienced. and even 2017...|

Will btc ever hit a million? Or hundred million?

I kick myself so hard every night going to sleep that I didn't get in earlier. Liek I'll literally have dreams of being in 2013 when I first heard about it and buying some... T_T

It depends on your age. If you are in your 20s, then you are not late at all because you have a huge amount of time ahead of you. So you will be benefitted from the remaining time as bitcoin has a huge upside potential.

But if you are retired and living on your savings, the you are too late and probably best not to enter into the market due to the high risk profile. Hope this helps!
1610  Economy / Economics / Re: Food Processing Centers Across US Burning Down As Food Crisis Worsens on: April 22, 2022, 06:14:22 AM
A quick keyword search reveals there are approximately 36,000 food and beverage processing plants in the united states. I'm not certain if the loss of less than 1% of them as reported by the media will make a significant difference. Loss of food processing plants to fire and boiler explosions would be a relatively routine event which is not commonly reported on.

If 1% loss in the entire food processing chain makes a significant difference, United States need to re-think its food strategy seriously! Food processing businesses are serious in nature and must be a part of their strategic initiatives, just same as the oil reserve. In unforeseen events like War and crisis, people wouldn't need a Tesla car, rather they will need food. Just do a Google search on Japanese Sticky rice and you will understand why Japanese government buys that sticky rice from farmers at high prices. That's their strategic initiative for unforeseen events.

I don't think this loss wouldn't make any significant difference though. Accidents are part of any business where fire and boilers are involved. That's why insurance companies are here to cover you from the losses. If a certain company choose not to reconstruct, some other person will be ready to fulfil the need. That's how it works!
1611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Concern of illegal use of crypto on: April 21, 2022, 06:39:06 PM
That's bullshit. They can't accept the fact that cryptocurrency is revolutionary. Fiat money has been used in money laundering for all these years. They have been using for illegal deals. Now cryptocurrency is the problem? How funny does this sound!

That's kind of not true! There's no denying of the fact that it's easier to launder money using cryptocurrency. Especially with features like coinjoin or mixers, it can easily hide the trail of dirty money. They you have Decentralized exchanges to convert the money into desired cryptocurrency or p2p trading to desired fiat money. Also we have NFT market now which is the biggest playground of money launderers to convert their dirty money to white.

I am not saying that cryptocurrency is being used for such activities but I am just trying to point out that it is quite easy to do compared to banking channel or fiat. What this lady is proposing is to have a global crypto framework to regulate the illegal usage of cryptocurrency. That kind of makes sense! But it's extremely difficult to happen in reality!
1612  Economy / Economics / Re: What should be a good ROI for a startup? on: April 21, 2022, 05:30:12 PM
Entrepreneurs struggle with their ROI on businesses. Starting a business is not a difficult task but sustaining it becomes challenging. I've seen a numerous companies go bankrupt after good years of sales. Knowing the reason behind is lack of future projections.

According to you, what should be the ROI for newly launched startups?

My views are around 15% per annum but it would take around 6.6 years to earn the initial amount back. Would it be a bad decision?

If you were a student of business studies, you wouldn't have asked this question. You should know that there is no fixed ROI for sustainability of a business. Sustainability of a business depends on numerous factors and future projection is just one of those factors.

Do a market research on your competitors. Use websites like Statista to gain insights. See what is the average ROI in your field of business and now see prepare a business forecast to see if you beat the average ROI.
1613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Despite CBN’s clampdown, Nigerians traded N316.9bn bitcoin in 2021 on: April 21, 2022, 11:02:04 AM
Good! This whooping volume tells us, it is "practically" very very difficult to "ban" cryptocurrency. You can make laws and what not, but the reality is something different. 316.9 billion is a huge number, especially for a poor country like Nigeria.
Nigerian is not a poor country, but if their wealth is compared to their high population, then many people in Nigeria are living in poverty, but if comparing the GDP, Nigeria is the highest in Africa, but they should have higher GDP with their high population.

Nigeria is definitely a poor country from the perspective of "per capita income". They are 131st country in the list of per capita income. Probably that's the best for Africa considering Europeans have sucked out the wealth of Africa for over 300 years.

So seeing such a statistics and then looking at a trading volume of 316.9 Billion of local currency, is really amazing. That what shows the power of crypto and its life changing abilities.
1614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ireland to Ban Political Donations in Cryptocurrencies on: April 21, 2022, 05:46:12 AM
When the war started, I was making a prediction that Bitcoin can get a lot of negative exposure if it will become associated with Russia, seems like my prediction is coming true. On the other hand, it's inevitable that the government will want to restrict the unchecked flow of money via Bitcoin, perhaps Russia just catalyzed it.

What about the hacking attacks? What about the ransomware attacks? What about the black market operations? Bitcoin was inevitable involved into all these wrongdoings. Didn't that exposure bring down the reputation of bitcoin? Now don't tell me,  fiat is responsible for such things.a lot of people throw such arguments.

The matter of fact is that majority of the financial and cyber crimes around the world involves bitcoin. Ireland is just trying to save their own reputation and integrity of their own electoral procedures. If a country wants to interfere with other country's election, they can very well do so with fiat as well.
1615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Despite CBN’s clampdown, Nigerians traded N316.9bn bitcoin in 2021 on: April 20, 2022, 07:19:39 PM
Good! This whooping volume tells us, it is "practically" very very difficult to "ban" cryptocurrency. You can make laws and what not, but the reality is something different. 316.9 billion is a huge number, especially for a poor country like Nigeria. Centralized exchanges are indeed a risk for those countries where government has either imposed ban or not positive towards bitcoin. Because centralized exchanges are bound to follow the rules of the land where they are operating in. That's not the case for P2P exchanges or Decentralized exchanges. That's exactly where the game changed for better and Nigerian government is loosing a huge amount of tax revenue for their stupidity.
1616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some Bitcoin Fun Facts. on: April 20, 2022, 05:27:35 PM
Buying two pizzas for 10,000 Bitcoin isn't forgettable to me. Also, the community remembers that day as Bitcoin pizza day. Although that time bought pizza Bitcoin price was low, but for now it's become a huge amount. So this is a memorable history among the Bitcoin community. Another fact of Bitcoin you mentioned on the thread isn't remembering this way we remember Bitcoin pizza day.

Indeed! More than us, it is the person who had purchased those two pizzas. He could become a multi millionaire by now, but his fortune did not favor him. I would say it's more like a lifelong regret for him and he couldn't make it at the end of the day. That's truly unforgettable for the entire community.

I sometimes wonder where are thise 10000 bitcoins now! I mean one employee had received it but nobody knows what happened after that!
1617  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Element of blochchain making poeple to trust cryptp? on: April 20, 2022, 01:56:02 PM
The blockchain's "distributed" element, which is a record of each transaction, is kept in multiple locations, sometimes thousands, making it trustworthy.

what is your opinion?

Nope! This is just one of many parameters that are making cryptocurrencies trustworthy. The main factor here is anonymity. Even though all transactions are recorded in a blockchain, it is extremely difficult to find out the person who has initiated or received the transaction. I believe it is the best thing about cryptocurrency.

Banks also keep records of every transaction. But that's not anonymous. that's what is the biggest USP of cryptos.
1618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I think Defi and NFTs will be the most important elements in the cryptospace on: April 20, 2022, 03:59:45 AM
Defi and NFTs will not only be important elements in the cryptospace, I reckon Defi will be the main element that will serve as basic infrastructure for all digital items created in the cryptospace. This will include NFTs as mentioned and will also serve cryptocoins like Bitcoin, Ethereum, other altcoins and stablecoins. Defi can also serve casinos, DAOs and many other usecases.

Before I had a wider understanding about Defi, I thought it was only another new scam in the cryptospace that will be forgotten. This is because I thought Defi would try to serve real world assets of value that will be tokenized. I was clearly very wrong in this type of thinking. It was when I was beginning to witness the longterm cultural value of NFTs when I realized of Defi's importance as an infrastructure for anything with value in the cryptospace.

In any case, there are Defi projects in the cryptospace already serving NFTs to provide liquidity for them. I speculate they will be the next 10x - 100x projects.

I agree from Defi perspective! Defi is definitely great and with the increase surveillance from the government agains crypto users, Defi is going to be benefited because people will want to move to a non-centralized ecosystem made for crypto.

But I don't have the same thought for NFTs. This is a marketing buzzword and pure hype without any utility. People are making money in NFT that's why everyday more and more people are flocking to NFT market. But it will dry out sooner than later. When the hype is gone, people will sit on monkey pictures that they have purchsed by soensing millions of dollars.
1619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know the Launchpad business is expanding at a rapid rate? on: April 19, 2022, 05:40:48 PM
Despite the rapid growth, investors and project owners are not getting the services they need. As a result, a Launchpad that is easy, secure, lucrative, and capable of managing this $2 billion business is urgently needed.

I have come across AdLunam, that I believe is a one-stop shop for all of an investor's and project's needs.

Learn more about them here: https://adlunam.cc

Lol! When you talk about billions, you probably want to talk to Binance as they are the best launchpad provider in the crypto industry. If they think your project has potential and if you are able to complete their due diligences, you can get a billion dollar launchpad.

Also I didn't know that a platform called Adlunam exists. I am sure a lot of other community members will agree here. Did you use their service or you are the peomoter of this platform?
1620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Auto Staking & Auto Compounding Project's Future !!! on: April 19, 2022, 03:27:53 PM
There is currently a time when most crypto projects run on auto staking and auto compounding systems. Where the temptation to invest in a very attractive profit in a year is being shown.
What is the future of these projects?
And how reasonable is the investment?

If such programs are using popular cryptos like Bitcoins or ETH or Solana etc. For auto staking and compounding, I would call them a ponzi.

If such programs are using their own token, I would still call them a ponzi because their tokens need to have some utility in order to generate value. Without a proper utility, the program is just bound to fail and probably some investors will loose their savings with them.
