1621  Other / Meta / Re: Can we please fix the thread subject hijacking? on: January 29, 2020, 11:41:25 AM
I get your point as most people who do this seem to use it as a tool for trolling, though sometimes they are funny, though it is often also annoying when loads of people start to quote the changed header.

This flaw is too often abused.
I ask this seriously: is it really abused that often?  Maybe I haven't noticed it because it's a problem in sections I don't visit that you do (like P&S, which I think you post in), but I haven't seen members changing the thread title all that much.  Or it could be that I'm just not paying attention to it since there's really no need to.

Not often, but it is another angle people use to attack other users when they want get another dig in and it can take things off topic.

Somehow I can't see it catching on

How about also not being able to change the usernames in quotes as well?  Grin

There are two opposite sides of the allowable option to modify post title inside threads:

Advantages:
  • OPs or the other posters are able to modify post titles to mark changes of projects (developmental upgrades, future plans, ie.), campaigns (Open, CFNP, Full, ie.), etc.

Disadvantages:
  • There are many different post titles inside one thread, from OPs, or from the the other posters, that might mislead new guests.
  • It will probably cause uncontrolled trollings, ie. that is what TECSHARE asked for changes.

It seems like a lot of people don't bother reading before posting. Nothing I am suggesting would prevent people from modifying subject headings anyway. All I am requesting is that replies automatically mirror the subject heading in the original post, which may then be edited if so desired.

I dunno. Is this feature even necessary? The thing you seem to be complaining about is a minor thing compared to people using it to just troll. I'm not sure whether full on making it so others can't change the topic title would be better, but when users use it troll maybe those posts can be reported to be edited if they're off topic.

The Carabao cup was even more winnable and a win would have taken them in to the semis to face Leicester. I know it's not as prestigious as the FA but it's a trophy they could have easily won and now City are probably gonna win that.

Well, for the Carabao cup we had to choose between that one and the World champions. I prefer the world champions because that's the one we never won before and Carabao cup is in my opinion the least important trophy of the season. I don't mind at all that we gave a low priority to it.

Not necessarily. There's about 30 players in the squad so he could have sent either a b-team or split them evenly so you've got two decent teams rather than send a bunch of schoolboys. I think even a b-team of their current squad would have won or at least done better than the kids. As for the cup itself, sure, it's not the most coveted but the Super Cup or whatever it's called isn't really either. Just another cash grab for FIFA really. I doubt people will be mentioning the win a few years from now, but couple it with multiple other trophies they would.

Regarding the FA cup, I have mixed feelings. We are playing at home and we could have decided to go with backup players who are in need of games anyway, they would have probably gotten us through. I kinda dislike the situation in which Klopp sits at home and lets Neil Critchley lose heavily as well. I think that giving players a rest is deserved, ok, but Klopp should be in the dugout. Shrewsbury deserved it with the comeback, this is really disrespectful to them.

I hope he just made those comments in the heat of the moment after being annoyed by having to play yet another game because Klopp not turning up to the game if he can is pretty disrespectful. I'd give him a pass if he's got a vacation booked or something. I wonder what the players think or whether some of them actually want to play it. I know there's a big break so some of them might be going on vacations as well but I'm sure there's a lot of players who would be happy to play.

Today we have the postponed match West Ham vs. Liverpool
Make your predictions on time

The last result was 1-1, today I’m confident in Liverpool’s handicap win and will bet on that too
(-0.5 handicap)
There should be over 2.5 scored goals as well

This is a middle week worth of watch match  Cool

I didn't realise the last game was a draw. I was tempted to go for 1-1 on this but I'll probably still go for the narrow Liverpool win. A lot of people seem to think Liverpool will stuff them but I'm not so sure. Guess it depends on the team that gets put out.
1623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 28, 2020, 05:04:40 PM
^  Lol.  You weren't kidding there.  Just made my pick and saw you pick 2 - 2.  Cheesy

Examplens picked 0 - 3...  And judging from how hot he's been running, that could be the right pick.  Grin

Could be a bluff to throw people off  Grin. Maybe they put them in and change them before the game (as many probably change their mind last minute anyway). A few people always seem to leave the picks right until the last minute before they put them in as well. BitcoinSupremo, Avirunes & LTU_btc all haven't done them yet.

@hilarious: yeah I don't want to second guess Klopp, he got us to where we are and he knows better than most the weight of expectations... I do wish we'd have gone through cause the FA cup is definitely winnable, and yeah a possible double or treble will make this season incredible. But okay, maybe he does actually secretly (and so do I) want to get that invincibles record -- which will be talked about forever (even the Gooner's one will of course but for Liverpool to do it the way they will if the do, gods all the ifs haha)...

The Carabao cup was even more winnable and a win would have taken them in to the semis to face Leicester. I know it's not as prestigious as the FA but it's a trophy they could have easily won and now City are probably gonna win that.

I'm not sure which I'd take. The treble (which yeah if you include the Super Cup and CWC makes it even more special)?

Or breaking the points total and being the new invincibles and possibly being the team to talk about for many lifetimes? I mean, it's silly to dream of a 112 points haul that will probably never ever be broken, but if you kept the first 11 fresh as possible, it's "only" 15 wins away ha ha ha.

The treble is far more prestigious and difficult to do than the Super Cup. If my calculations are correct then Liverpool need to win 11 out of their remaining 15 games to equal Man City's 100 point record.
1624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 28, 2020, 10:57:06 AM
I actually believe Trofo's right and judging from Klopp's past decisions, he is pragmatic to a fault. He totally abandoned League Cup when we played our kids against Aston Villa, and IF we win the League early, he'll want to ensure full fitness and freshness for CL so he will play a lot of rotation in the remaining EPL games.

He should have really pushed to have that rescheduled. It's obviously ridiculous to play two games within two days or whatever it was, but I really don't think Liverpool should be giving anything up though. I've said this before, but I think if the PL is the only thing Liverpool win this season then it will be a bit of a disappointment to me (though not taking anything away from that achievement especially when they haven't won the league in ages). People will forget the league win over time but probably not if they go unbeaten all season, break points records and win multiple trophies. People still talk about the invincible Arsenal team and the doubles and trebles won by Man United and Liverpool should be aiming to join them or even surpass their achievements.

@buwaytress - I’m thinking about booking a weeks holiday to Turkey around the time it’s the CL Final because it’s in Istanbul. If we don’t make the final, whatever. If we do it’ll be much cheaper to get an internal flight from the resort area to Istanbul Wink

Just go see whoever does play. A CL final is still going to be a decent spectacle.

My logic is as follows. If they stay unbeaten till May they are already champions. This is the time when champions league gets to semi finals and will be absolute priority.
Absolutely. it's hard to think that a team that could potentially win the treble (CL, FA cup, league) would prioritize an unbeaten run or 100 points over winning silverware.

Btw, does anyone know when was the las time an english team won the treble?

Well they could have even gone for the quadruple had they not blown the Carabao. Maybe even the quintuple if you count the UEFA Super Cup or whatever it's called  Cheesy.

Remember folks,  there’s a match on tomorrow
West Ham v Liverpool
Don’t think there’ll be any argument about the result  Smiley Just who’s gonna pick the correct score.
Good luck all

I don't think this will be a walk-over for Liverpool. West Ham haven't been playing great for sure, but they're fighting to stay out of relegation. This could be one of those games where Liverpool take their foot off the the gas. With that being said, I'll probably still play the narrow away win but a draw is really tempting also.

Haha!
Yeah, I’m not too bothered about the FA Cup these days. Klopp isn’t either hence his team selections, did you see his comments post match? He said none of his 1st team squad will play in the replay & also Neil Critchley will take charge, Klopp won’t even be there Cheesy

We have our eyes on bigger prizes.

It’s the FA’s fault, when they started having the semi finals at Wembley they devalued the competition themselves.

It's silly not playing for this IMO. It looks like there's ample time before the replay on the 4th of Feb and their next game which is on the 15th in the PL. Where the semis are played shouldn't really matter either. They've got such an easy run in their next lot of games as well (except for Athletico in the CL) that they can easily field their best team for this (or their second best but not a bunch of kids).
1625  Other / Meta / Re: Reporter Statistics on: January 27, 2020, 12:00:30 PM
I must admit the lack of progress in the reporter badges has lessened my desire to report more frequently.
I know I shouldn’t be like that but hey, at least I’m honest.

Yeah, I hope they're just on the back-burner and haven't been abandoned completely. I think it would be a good encouragement for people to keep reporting.

I have also noticed a drop off in reports recently. and I wonder if people got tired of reporting? Regardless, I'd still like to see the updated report stats.
The number of posts per week dropped more than 80% in the last 16 months, from 350k per week to 60k per week. I'd say there's simply less spam to report Cheesy

Well there seemed to be a drastic drop merely in the last few months. I'm talking like going from 1k+ reports in the queue to around a mere 100 or so.  It wasn't that long ago when we were seeing 2k+ as well.

Some of the people who have insane reporting numbers are also the most divisive forum members, and troll or try to troll certain forum members into either leaving or rage quitting. It would probably not be a good look for these people to be wearing a moderator hat.

I don't think reporting a lot should automatically qualify you as that would obviously lead to abuse, but I did also say:
(assuming there's no other shenanigans that they're involved in)

1626  Other / Meta / Re: Another merit metric that could be considered in ranking. on: January 26, 2020, 11:17:46 AM
At first I thought this was going to be a thread about having another rank for high merit receivers. I do like the idea of a new rank for the top-earners, especially when becoming legendary is far too common these days.

I think you guys are reading more into my suggestion than I intended. I wasn't suggesting that you had to receive merits on all boards to rank up, but more that rank improvement should be harder if all of your merits were earned on a single board. The requirement to receive merits from a variety of awarders was intended to try to avoid upranking members of spamming groups, and not to create a "classist" forum

I think ranking up is already difficult enough and there's no need to over-complicate it further, but you could do something with this on the proposed reward badges ie once a person has got x amount of merit from a certain board they get a little badge related to that section. You could also do something with the reports once a user has reported x amount in that sub. Not sure how difficult it would be to implement but it would be nice to see rewards and badges for certain things, especially reporting which doesn't really come with any benefits currently and is a thankless task.

I don't understand the obsession of making it harder to rank up on the forum. There's been so many suggestions of ideas that unnecessarily complicate the merit system and make it more difficult to rank up as if it isn't already difficult. If you are a newbie starting off and actually contribute to the forum, your chance of making it to legendary are pretty slim despite contributions of constructive posts because people don't tend to merit newer members, including myself. I've mentioned this in a previous post, but sending merit to someone is an endorsement of their content so sending merit to a newbie is banking on the fact that the person isn't a scammer or shitposter. Not many notable members are going to take that risk nor should they.

Agreed. It is difficult, especially for average or even good posters. You probably basically have to be an exceptional poster to rank up to a higher rank within a reasonable time-frame. I still think we should implement more donor ranks like Silver/Gold Member with the added benefits of becoming a higher rank all but in name (you wouldn't literally become a Senior or Hero but get the benefits of becoming one ie a bigger signature and avatar etc). I think this would stop a lot of people needlessly fishing for merits and I'm sure a lot of people would prefer to cough up a bit of money to 'skip the queue' as it were. Give the money to charity if the forum doesn't need it and then it's win win.
1627  Other / Meta / Re: Yet incomplete Merit system. Implementation Proposal on: January 26, 2020, 11:01:44 AM
It would be best to just add more merit sources if a lack of merit going around is an issue, or also bump up the current merit allocation of current users if frequent and trusted merit sources are running out quickly. Maybe even giving the ability to make additional merit sources to some staff or even trusted users would also be beneficial as I don't know how much time theymos has to keep on top of merit sources-demand etc. I definitely think there should be more sources either way.

my humble suggestion : board moderators can award Merit to ... quality 'Report to moderator' button clicks
Elias Ch.

This has been suggested a couple of times before but it would just lead to abuse as people would try to game the system. I guess staff can already give merit to certain users if they think they're doing a good job anyway but it shouldn't be automated or anything just based on good reports as it would be quickly abused.
1628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 26, 2020, 10:52:57 AM
Are there any sports books that let you bet on the results of the rest of the PL games? If so, it would likely be better putting Liverpool to win everyone with draw no bet, but I'm not sure I've seen any sites that let you bet on all the future games.

None that I know, The most you'll get from any sports book would be for 3 games consecutive in a single competition (and I can assure you that 3rd game would have the only 1, X, and 2 options, nothing more)

Yeah, I've never seen being able to bet more than one or two rounds or so in the future. I bet the odds would be pretty good on the draw no bet on all their remaining games, or at least certainly better than the paltry 4/1 to go unbeaten.

Liverpool to go unbeaten at 4/1...?  That's 4 in decimal, so 10 bucks wins 30 (and your stake back)?  Which bookie did you get that line from?

I actually think they will go unbeaten. Few things to consider though -

  • They still have City away
  • If they win the title really early they may prioritise the CL over being Invincibles & begin fielding weakened teams as they already are Champions

True, but I think they shouldn't throw things away like going unbeaten or even setting a record for highest points in the PL as that's something that will be talked about for years and adds a little extra to their title win. Imagine if they can win the CL as well and maybe even the FA cup. They could go down as one of the best teams of all time. Shame they didn't throw away the Carabao Cup (and my bet for them to win everything  Grin).

On the subject on Liverpool, don't forget to put your scores in for the midweek game as seven people have yet to do so.
1629  Other / Meta / Re: Reporter Statistics on: January 26, 2020, 10:44:34 AM
I don't know if it's real or manipulated  but i got this on a PM from one user :
I believe there's users with even higher statistics than this. It would be interesting to see the latest reporting statistics from theymos, but considering the demand for additional moderators right now isn't needed I don't think we will see this any time soon.

They might not necessarily be needed per se right now but I think the people with those sorts of insane report stats would be beneficial to have on staff and have earned a shot at being a mod (assuming there's no other shenanigans that they're involved in). I really hope theymos implements some sort of rewards for reporters at some point as a small token of thanks for reporting as it as a thankless task and back in the day at least there was a decent chance of you becoming a mod with a lot of reporting. Heck, I think I was made a mod on less than 3k reports and that was considered a lot back then, but it's peanuts now. I have also noticed a drop off in reports recently. and I wonder if people got tired of reporting? Regardless, I'd still like to see the updated report stats.
1630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 25, 2020, 01:00:11 PM
Ugh. I've just noticed there's no games on this weekend because of the FA Cup. Liverpool have the rescheduled games against West Ham on Wednesday though. Does anyone think this could be as troublesome for Liverpool as the Wolves game was? Probably not as West Ham haven't been playing great recently but they're fighting to stay out of relegation and they're only out of it on goal difference. A win or a mere point would take them out of the zone so with this game being in hand any result is vital for them.

@hilarious The Watford jersey is truly a collector's item IMO, for precisely the reason you mentioned. I was really lucky to get two of them, and they actually are quite well made. Anyone wanting it should watch out for the Sportsbet random bitcointalk only giveaways I've seen them throw in a jersey or two for those who even don't win but try.

Yeah, I quite like the shirt regardless of the BTC logo. Where did you get two of them from? Win them?

The round before the last I made only 4 exact scores and no other points.I don't know if anyone here has done more than 4 exact scores in a single round.
If I am right then we have highest number of exact scores is 5 and its by @tomahawk9 because once he was on top in round with nearly 18 or 19 points.

Yeah, I think someone got 5. Think I might have even had 4 before. Definitely three at least.

4/1 is definitely too small, there is a lot for Liverpool to play for and you'd expect Klopp to start resting his big guns for EPL as the cup and champions league fixture, finishing unbeaten will be a great feat to achieve for them, However, it's not going to be Klopp's priority, would it ?

Are there any sports books that let you bet on the results of the rest of the PL games? If so, it would likely be better putting Liverpool to win everyone with draw no bet, but I'm not sure I've seen any sites that let you bet on all the future games.

Great news - Yobit is leaving AND taking spammers with it:

Dear Bitcointalk Users!

Current campaign will be finished on 27 Jan.

Next Sig Campaign will be on CryptoTalk.Org Forum, if you want to participate - please register there.

Thank you for all your work and posts!

Interesting. I wonder if they're paying the same as they were here. If so, I'm sure there will be a mass exodus from here which is obviously a good thing.
1632  Economy / Reputation / Re: PrimeNumber7 is an alt of Quickseller, Take 2 on: January 24, 2020, 04:40:20 PM
See what I mean? A bunch of pals just sit around and reaffirm each others suspicions then just pretend it is fact without ever substantiating anything. Have enough people repeat it, then you can just pretend it is accepted truth. This is a tactic called "manufacturing consensus", and it is a well known methodology for managing narratives such as done in propaganda, marketing, and public relations.

I don't think anyone has claimed it as a fact, but numerous people independently came to the conclusion that they were very likely the same which says a lot and is a pretty big coincidence. I guess we could all be suffering from mass delusion and seeing something that isn't there or just some huge coincidences but I doubt it. It's not a fact that he's QS, but it is very likely. People probably shouldn't be leaving negative over it, but at the same time the circumstantial evidence is overwhelming and I would say they are almost certainly the same person so maybe that's a good enough reason for others if they've already left QS negative. A neutral warning however is more appropriate in my opinion.

Why is it so important to tie these two accounts together? What crimes exactly is this preventing? This is about nothing but petty interpersonal disputes, and the fact that Suchmoon can't document any earlier claims after trying to pretend it wasn't them just solidifies this fact. I like the touch of "NO U" you added as well. Very slick.

This is a petty dispute, but it's one that has been propagated by both sides and will likely continue unless they call a truce, but these tit-for-tat exposes aren't uncommon here and there have been plenty of times where grudges have caused users to try take each other down in anyway they can. I guess if you're of the opinion that QS is shady/dishonest or a scammer then I guess it is important to those people to call it out just like alts of other scammers are tagged as such.

Lately Quickseller has been acting more reasonably than you. Think on that for a few minutes. I still haven't got anyone to answer me on why exactly this needs to be made into a federal case. What exactly is Quickseller up to that needs to be exposed so imminently?

Again, I guess it all depends on what your opinion of QS is. If you think he's a scammer or shady then that's probably why they feel the need to warn others. If PN7 is trying to build that account up to get it into a position of trust or start things like escrowing again then to some people that is probably a cause for alarm, but of course a lot of this will be fuelled by their dislike of him and which I don't blame them for either and I believe it was QS rubbing people the wrong way that started all this in the first place, and then of course there was all the attacking he did on that account and with alts that certainly pissed a lot of people off. I don't particularly trust Quickseller, especially after his behaviour in attacking anyone associated in some minuscule way to the users he doesn't like, and I'm not entirely sure what his motivations are here; honest or potentially nefarious, but I wouldn't out and out call him a scammer or a bad person either. His intentions could have always been just to build accounts up to honestly earn a living, which I wouldn't blame him for, or to get an account into a position of trust to do something bad with it. I guess we'll probably never know, but unless people are willing to forget about things that happened in the past and call a truce then I think this sort of tit for tat behaviour is going to continue forever.
1633  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Add more links to the MORE menu. on: January 24, 2020, 12:26:02 PM
Yeah, I think it should include much more stuff. Rules, FAQ, welcome guide, links to other valuable information and guides. Renaming it to FAQ or README or something else more important/eye-catching would help. Maybe even put it in redfont so it stands out. Might even be better putting it near the current Help tab or even renaming it to that itself and completely replacing it as the current Help section is more about how to use the forum software which is pretty unnecessary really and the most important info can be included in the More tab anyway. New users should be urged/guided to read it as well upon sign-up as most people who come here will likely have no idea about the rules or what to do or how to purchase a Copper Membership if they're even aware of it at all. Some sort of welcome message has also been long overdue. I think I wrote a brief one somewhere ages ago but can't be arsed looking for that. theymos also wrote a proposed one somewhere as well I think but either way one should definitely be adopted.
1634  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Notification for new Post on the interested topics on: January 24, 2020, 11:49:30 AM
Something like this will probably be on the new forum, but you can kind of do this already. You can use the 'Watch' feature at the top right or at the top left you can click on Show new replies to your posts which will work perfectly fo you as long as you've made a post in that thread. I basically have that link bookmarked as my homepage so I can see all the new replies to the threads I'm involved with straight away when I log in.

This already exists. There is a « notify » button at the top-right corner of the thread. I believe you get an email every time someone posts on the thread you enabled that option.

I am not telling about the notification for the threads on which we have already posted. I am telling about the notification for the new threads that are created on the forum.

Oh, I see. So you didn't literally mean a notification of a new forum topic, but rather a notification for any topics of discussion you were interested in. Well, without probably relying on users to tag their posts/topics correctly with specific keywords this would likely be complicated to implement and take a bit of work to be effective. If you're truly interested in certain things I would just suggest browsing those specific subs as often as you can.

I am not telling about the notification for the threads on which we have already posted. I am telling about the notification for the new threads that are created on the forum.
Then use the Watchlist. You can add boards to it, so any time someone creates a thread in that board, it will show up on the page. No notifications though (there would be many unnecessary ones anyways). Just visit the Watchlist and see which new threads were made.

And would you really want to get notified everytime someone makes a thread? The flow of news threads per day is pretty big. I’m not sure how would you benefit from this.

Yeah, I think this would just be spammed or at the very least get annoying very quickly. The best solution as I've already said it just to frequent the subs as much as possible.
1635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 24, 2020, 11:35:06 AM
This is from my dashboard:

Code:
What's more, you'll be in with a shot of winning with anything from 5 exact scores upwards:

5 Exact Scores - A Superbru Yellow Cap
6 Exact Scores - A Premier League jersey
7 Exact Scores - €550
8 Exact Scores - €1,100
9 Exact Scores - €11,000
10 Exact Scores - €55,000

I forgot about the hallowed Yellow Cap  Cheesy. I'd actually like to win one of those but I know the odds of getting one are ridiculous. It's hard enough getting the yellow cap from our pool never mind the entire site. You can actually buy one from their shop if you want but I don't want one enough to actually spend money on it: https://store.superbru.com/collections/uk-europe/products/yellow-cap

If there's enough interest from people we could purchase one out of the pool money and the winner gets one as well next season.

You can even buy a wooden spoon as well:

Not sure how much interest there would be in a wooden spoon haha.

Winning a jersey would be sweet as well. I've been wanting one of the Watford ones seeing as they have the bitcoin logo on there:

Seems it's on sale at the moment at £35 from £55: https://www.thehornetsshop.co.uk/kit/home-kit/adult/2745_2019-adult-home-shirt.html

But I might just wait till the end of the season when they get a new kit and try pick up one even cheaper.

Edit: Firmino literally just scored:

They can't stop winning  Cheesy. Five mins to go now and I wonder if there'll be any cards for Liverpool time wasting  Cheesy. Bus is going to be well and truly parked now.

From 0 points to 3 to you too for picking 2-1! And I went from 1.5 to 1 when I changed 2-0 to 3-0 haha but I'm happy either way.

Yeah, that result saved me from a truly abysmal week and kept me treading water in eight place.

This team is out of this world, they could lose 5 games in a row and they'll still be league leaders!

They could lose 6 games in a row actually, including the one in hand now against West Ham, and still lead by 1 point... assuming City win all the next 5, which they won't =p

4/1 Liverpool unbeaten all season in EPL at Paddy Power... @toke want to take me against that? I'll be happy to take 35/10?Wink $10 right?

Only 4/1. I know Liverpool are storming it this season but I'd want higher odds than that. With that being said, I think the only team they might lose against is City at home in april, but the season could already be over then. Or maybe Liverpool lose some before then and City make a miraculously come back and it's all to play for  Grin.

Woah there, be careful when using the word 'Turkey' or 'Turkish' here as you might get accused of racism. Any use of that word that is included or associated with anything bad or negative will be taken by a lot of the Turks here as a smear against the entire country/peoples of Turkey regardless of facts. *braces for attack*.

Your email address was leaked, you might want to use different email address.

As for your question, i'd have to disagree since CloudFlare do the job better than manual IP ban.

I would also disagree with you as it is enough to just enter 'username' and ask for password reset.
And this should be changed/removed to improve forum security.

Yeah, all you need is the username, or I believe the secret question if you have that set up. I wouldn't worry about mere emails as there's nothing they can do unless they have access to that so make sure it's as secure as possible.

guys , there is a problem !!!!

These shared locations common areas, can be a zombie line. More than 10000 people per hour pass through the street in this place. Maybe more...

Well they'd be pretty stupid to use their own IP to try hack, but there's nothing you can do about people using public wifi without blocking them but that would be unfair to all the others who use that connection innocently.

How lucky LFC was in the match against Wolves, in conditions that were not too special, the decisive goal from Firminho proved that LFC's victory was a luck, apart from that the point difference with other clubs farther and LFC continued to extend its unbeaten record.

You can create your own luck by making and taking opportunities and that's what Liverpool do time and time again, so why is it down to luck and not just them being an incredibly strong and proficient team that refuse to give up or rest on their laurels? Liverpool are so far ahead on points they could afford a few lazy performances or to throw a couple of points or even games away but they haven't yet. Sure, the last few Liverpool games have been pretty close and they've only narrowly won them but I think this is mostly down to their resilience and determination as a team and not just merely luck. Wolves aren't an easy team to beat at home and I didn't think this would be an easy game for them and it certainly wasn't but to go unbeaten for as long as they have is no easy feat. I predicted either a 1-1 or 2-1 result so the game played out as expected for me.
1639  Other / Meta / Re: idea: Merit source could have a negative smerit balance on: January 24, 2020, 09:26:58 AM
I think there is too much of an obsession with merit here. It has distorted the posting, as people try to make posts to earn merits. Maybe it is time to create bMerits which can only be awarded to posts about Bitcoin and the serious alts - no bounty promotions, scam coins, or general forum chat.

Well it's just the nature of the board really. Merit is desperately needed by many, especially those who are trying to maximise their earning potential here, and it is quite hard to get for the average person, or at least a sufficient amount to rank up to the desired rank. It used to be people merely obsessed with rank but now to do that you need merit as well as time so it's extra difficult and that's why people are always on the hunt for it and there definitely seems to be a lack of it going around. To solve or at the very least curb this sort of merit begging/hunting, I still think we should allow people to purchase the benefits of higher ranks through more donator ranks ie Silver & Gold Member and so on. Silver Membership can come with the benefits of being a Full or Senior Member and Gold a Hero or something. You could even have premium ranks like Platinum or Lamborgini Member Grin with additional benefits. That way rather than people just hunting for merits users can just pay the fee to bypass all that business. Give the money to charity if the forum doesn't need it and then and it's win-win in my opinion.
1640  Other / Meta / Re: Board-specific signatures on: January 24, 2020, 09:10:05 AM
Well, I mean obviously this would be great for those that monetise their signature as they could probably squeeze out some extra revenue from it by joining another campaign that pays in those other subs, and I kinda like the idea, but I really doubt it's something that theymos would do. I doubt you'd be able to find many campaigns that pay for those excluded boards either as they're usually the ones like Off Topic and P&S that most don't pay for them other than the shit spam campaigns. I like the idea of my signature being  free in the boards that campaigns didn't pay for though so I would be able to advertise my own services/sales threads at every available opportunity as that's something I miss or you have to sacrifice with a signature. As Thekool1s just said though, it is also free advertisement for the campaigns and I think it's fair to them to not have to pay for every single post. IF this change happened many would likely also just change their terms and state you couldn't advertise for anyone else, and in fact many campaigns already state you can only have one signature so this would probably already apply.
