841  Other / Meta / Re: Why isn't trust visible on every board? on: November 26, 2020, 09:27:32 PM
The "official" reasoning never quite made sense to me. If someone is prone to dismissing or respecting opinions based on trust ratings then in the absence of such they would fall back to even flimsier attributes, like "Legendary" or number of posts. We're basically going out of our way to not offend red-trusted users because someone might see their red trust and think less of them. Boo hoo.

I don't think it's about offense, but it just not being relevant to discussion in certain boards.

Agreeing with @suchmoon here

I wouldn't really care how much trusted the person is if they answer my query on the Technical Support or Development sections. Having a red trust doesn't invalidate anyone of their opinions in the relevant sections where their trust ratings don't make sense.

Suppose you posted a query regarding cryptography and someone with a red trust gave you a very detailed accurate answer, would you not consider it because of their trust? If you would, then there's no point in showing trust ratings in the first place.

And that's why it isn't shown as it shouldn't be relevant to that discussion. Someone with red trust could give sage advice but people then choose to disregard it because they see the feedback and it does influence how you perceive a person. Personally I can take it or leave it but we've been over the pros and cons of this numerous times and theymos is unlikely to change it now. I don't think it was that long ago that someone brought this up and everyone chimed in with their reasonings but I can't find the thread.

Can I use a different account?
Or is it evading the ban?
What should I do now?
How do I get my account back?

Technically it's against the rules to create a new account once banned but ban evasion isn't really enforced here and nobody will know if you don't publicly link them together somehow. Maybe a signature ban can be issued instead though, but given your account is only a Junior Member it really wouldn't take long to get back there.

Also, please stop double posting as it won't help your case. You can edit your previous post with new info.
You mean a ban on signing this account - Vovchik90?

Not sure I understand you correctly, but sometimes signature bans are given instead of full and permanent account bans. That means that you can still post as normal but your signature is removed for a period of time instead. Given that you were a Junior Member you don't have much of one anyway but it'll mean you can still collect bounties as long as they don't require your signature.

Big surprise Liverpool lost and not unsurprisingly nobody backed them to do so. Most of the other games had expected results. Thought Real might have been a draw but I guess Arturo Vidal getting sent off quite early will have had an impact. Went for 1-0 on the ATL Madrid game and it was 0-0 so was pretty close there. Thought I did pretty well overall but still finished second from bottom this round. I guess not getting any correct scores is what did the damage. Didn't actually watch any of the games this round but will catch up on the highlights later today.

I've forgot to make my predictions for the first two early legs today,  Angry 2 points lost...
surprised by the bad performance from Liverpool, but there is an obvious roster problem in-house, contgrats to Atalanta

so far, still one of the first 5 on the leaderboard, not bad  Cool

when will we start sending the pool entry fees?

I mentioned a couple of days ago that it'll probably be next month.
845  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible to unblock an account? on: November 26, 2020, 09:51:56 AM
But why ban right away?

Hey New.People X,

here you see the reason for the ban:

Copy:
Major decentralized storage network Filecoin (FIL) said that its global community of miners has dedicated an exbibyte (EiB) of storage capacity (or 1024 Pebibytes) to the network less than 4 weeks since its launch. Exhibiting the vast capacity of the network, one exbibyte is the equivalent of over one billion gigabytes - enough to store 290 Million 1080p Movies, 4,500 wikipedias and 19 copies of the entire Internet Archive, they said in an emailed press release.

In case of plagiarism there is also no possibility to get your account or access to the forum back.

Sorry.

A lot of people have been given pardons or signature bans for plagiarism so it's not a death sentence like it used to be. Signature bans are probably far more appropriate in most of the minor cases rather than a lifetime ban. I really wish theymos would sort the welcome message out urging users to read the rules as this would stop a lot of plagiarism. I think it would be a good idea maybe adding warnings when Newbies/Junior Members go to post highlighting a few of the main rules like do not plagiarise content, do not post referral links etc. There wouldn't be any excuses then as they are literally warned before posting.

I apologize for my jamb at bitcointalk and its community

Please unblock your account, I promise not to repeat mistakes in the future

Too much of my time spent with the account

It's only a Junior Member. It would take 3 activity periods to get the required activity to become one again.
846  Other / Meta / Re: The Avatar would have to be optional in signature campaigns? on: November 26, 2020, 09:42:18 AM
There is a simple solution but it's in the hands of the campaign managers and not the admins. Just add extra payment for those wearing  campaign avatars.
All the admins can do is make a general guidelines how to maintain a signature campaign but enforcing rules and regulations won't have a positive impact.
There's another option.
What I did was to propose a custom avatar with company's logo on it and the idea was quite accepted. Many from the same campaign followed this example and now I don't feel bad for creating a wall of the same avatars while replaying to someone from the same campaign.

Some do add extra payment for avatars, but most won't as they won't want to pay more and will probably feel like they're owed the avatar as well. Signature campaigns are in short supply so they can pay what they want and request as much ad space as possible including the avatar and people will still jump at the chance. Even if there was a choice and they do even pay a little extra most will probably still take it and give up their avatar space.

I don't think that these things should be regulated. IMO, it should be left for each campaign to decide themselves. If you don't want to lose your unique avatar, you simply don't join signature campaigns. It's normal thing that advertiser set such rules to get biggest visibility.
I remember that 4 or 5 years ago many campaigns didn't required to wear avatar. But for these who wear avatar, they paid extra bonus.

Could we even have avatars 5 years ago? All users were unable to change them and new users couldn't have them at all back in the day.

Quote
If several users reply in the same thread with the same campaign on their avatar, then it becomes annoying to be constantly checking who the responding user is
How? The avatar placement isn't that far from the username.

It can be confusing. Your brain probably sees the image before the name and will automatically associate the image with certain users. I know I've been caught off guard with it both with other users and myself as there's a few people at least with the same avatar and sig combo as mine.

Guys, it seems that "some" do not interpret or do not want to interpret my post correctly, first of all I am not trying to ban anything, it is a totally legitimate suggestion, it is not a trick question, we can talk about this kind of topic calmly and as adults , without tearing our clothes Wink
The suggestion is directed to the forum, for this reason the thread was opened in Meta

Well this is probably semantics. You obviously didn't literally call for a ban but you seemed to ask the forum to step in and regulate whether campaigns can command you to change it, which sounds like a ban on campaigns requesting you change it, which would be a ban on that practice in my opinion. It's a valid request, I just don't think theymos would intervene on the matter and the best practice here is like I and many others have suggested is to only join campaigns that don't demand the change. Chipmixer doesn't require an avatar so keep an eye on their thread for new sign-ups.
847  Other / Meta / Re: The Avatar would have to be optional in signature campaigns? on: November 25, 2020, 06:49:38 PM
What benefit would it bring to the forum?  If the answer is "None.  It would only benefit me" then it's probably safe to assume it's not going to be a priority for the staff here.

We, all together, make a bitcointalk forum. The voice of the community should have an impact. Staff and admins cannot exist without us just as we cannot exist without them.

Maybe it would be a good idea to organize some kind of petition? If enough people agree with this idea, maybe the forum administrators will react and introduce some kind of rule or restriction for bounty campaign organizers.

Anyone is free to create a petition or poll, but even if the majority of users wanted it it wouldn't necessarily mean the admins will react to it or enforce it, though I'm sure they'd take it into consideration. This seems like something the staff aren't going to get involved with though and probably should be a free market decision really. If someone is dead set against wearing the avatar then they just shouldn't join that campaign. Some people are dead set against signature campaigns and therefor don't join them but you can't really have it both ways.

What benefit would it bring to the forum?  If the answer is "None.  It would only benefit me" then it's probably safe to assume it's not going to be a priority for the staff here.

Well, much like removing signatures it would make the forum look a bit cleaner and users would be more easily identifiable but there's nothing to stop one or more users having the same avatar anyway.
848  Other / Meta / Re: Need Information About Local Board on: November 25, 2020, 06:38:56 PM
You should be able to create a new thread in the other languages section but you can't create a thread within a thread and it looks like Pakistan only has a local thread and not a sub so that wouldn't be possible there. Creating new threads in the other languages sub I believe is restricted to certain higher ranks but as a Full Member you should be OK, but maybe not if you can't see the new thread button. If the main Pakistan thread is in English maybe one could be created specifically for Urdu but you'd probably have to ask theymos.
849  Other / Meta / Re: The Avatar would have to be optional in signature campaigns? on: November 25, 2020, 06:31:41 PM
This isn't something the forum is going to require or enforce. Campaigns are just trying to get exposure for whatever they're promoting so most will require the avatar to get more bang for their buck but if it's part of their terms the only thing you can do is either not join that campaign or ask if you can be an exception. Most probably won't grant you the exception though as they're paying you to promote their product and if that includes the avatar then it's probably unfair to everyone else and if one person gets special treatment everyone else likely will want it too. There are campaigns that don't require them though like chipmixer but they're probably the exception.

I believe that the decision to use the avatar field in a campaign should be optional, not mandatory
Joining a signature campaign is indeed optional Wink
This has nothing to do with Meta, you should probably move (bottom-left) it to Service Discussion. Tongue

It belongs in meta in my opinion as it looks like he's asking the forum admins to prohibit it or make a rule against it.
850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: November 25, 2020, 02:24:55 PM
Thought I did pretty well yesterday as I got all the results right bar two, but looked at the weekly round table and came 10th out of 13. I guess the results were pretty predictable and those with a correct score or two got the boost up the table. I had 1-1 on the FC Krasnodar - Sevilla match and Sevilla went and scored in the last minute of injury time to scupper that which was pretty annoying.
851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: November 24, 2020, 12:33:18 PM
We are all talking about Messi. But apart from Messi, 4 more star players of Barcelona will not play against Dynamo Kyve today. They are -  Ansu Fati, Gerard Pique, Sergio Roberto and Sergio Busquets. Without so many star players, will Barcelona be able to win today's match?
All these players mentioned are injured or the manager just decided to let them rest?
I understand that they are leading in their group but this is kind of a disrespect don't you think?
I'm rooting for Dynamo Kyiv to embarrass Barcelona. They should get a draw in their home ground at the very least.

They're all injured:

First I'd heard of Messi being injured though, but it doesn't say what for so could just be something minor.  Might have to think that result now.

Is there a page where you easily track all unavailable players due to COVID?

I usually track it on transfermarkt but with COVID, info there is not always up to date and it also takes too much time to check team by team.

It makes me lose interest in betting, I lose over an hour to place a bet on 3 pairs.

https://www.sportsgambler.com/football/injuries-suspensions/uefa-champions-league/

That's the site I use. Not just covid but all injuries and suspensions so it's even more helpful.
852  Other / Meta / Re: Stop deleting something you don't like on: November 24, 2020, 10:26:00 AM
Well, consider people doing it by free will, I don't consider those documents as hacked/stolen or illegal obtained.
No one force them selling it, but consider they are for sale and I can use them for something that's not illegal (creating accounts) I don't see anything bad.
Actually, maybe I am one of the small people who actually do not require people documents but let them verify the accounts.
Yes, I do offer them extra cash if they are willing to provide the scans for future verifications, but once again if they want.
Yeah, this is not court and still even in 4th world country you are still innocent till proven otherwise.
You can't point fingers for no reason or calling something you know nothing about illegal.
Account sales are not illegal, especially created by that way, and allowing their sales if they are not created by illegal ways can only bring more traffic thru the forum.
And please, do not play saints here... Everyone is lying about their stock... Like having 20xs9's but selling 100...
This is really the same

Well that's something you're going to have to prove if you want an exception here but exceptional claims are going to require some evidence. How do you really know the people you get the documents from aren't just telling you this lie, assuming you're not the one lying here?

Identity theft using fake illegally obtained documents? Cheesy
That's not 1996 and you are not in Poland mate.
Now it is 2020 and people selling their documents for 5-10 eur.
Even Nigerian "prince" are smart enough to realize you can earn 1000eur for paying 5-10 euro.
Why would anyone steal identity when you can buy it from someone who is willing for 5-10 euro ?
There is no broken rules, there is only idiot who is running his mouth for nothing.
I don't use fake or illegal documents, actually, they are more real than yours, obtained from people who are willing to sell them.
I don't use them, I sell accounts created with their documents. I do not sell documents at all, as I said above if you even read that I don't even need their documents but they can provide verified accounts with their id's instead of providing documents.
Like it or not, people don't need to steal documents since ages, at least the account sellers don't have/need to. People are selling them since ages.
Well, in other hands, documents sellers are different thing.
I will never EVER deal with stolen documents and I will never ever sell any documents Smiley

Most rational people are not going to sell their own ID documents, especially when they're likely to be used for fraud or illegal activities, and that's why most of them are either faked at best or at worse are stolen or are from leaked KYC databases etc. Selling documents for 5-10 Euros is silly and is only going to get that person into trouble when the authorities come looking for them for crimes they probably didn't even commit, but that's why most of these documents are probably not given away voluntarily. I don't know why you're still running with this argument because it's not going to change anything so I'd suggest you take this sort of business onto the darknet as it really doesn't belong here and you're probably just wasting your time.
853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: November 24, 2020, 10:16:37 AM
Don't forget about the matches tonight and tomorrow. Can't say I'm that interested in many of the games today. PSG vs RB Leizpig will likely be the most competitive but Juve playing Ferencvaros could be a slaughtering as they beat them 4-1 away in the first leg so I expect possibly more goals tonight at home for Juve. Ronaldo might not have been playing the first leg either due to covid. I'll Probably go for Inter/Real tomorrow.

^big games next week
All I can predict from a quick look at those pairs above is that a both to score and over 2.5 is a good option for all of them in a nice multi bet slip  Cool

Yeah, I can see lots of goals and both teams scoring at least. Might have to do my both teams to score in both halves multi, with the two cards each and two corners. Always lots of value there. I think both games could be draws, but I might back PSG at home. I'll have to check both teams' form domestically though as I don't really keep up with any of the non-English European leagues and they could be either in ruts or on fire right now. Of course the starting line-us will be a factor as well as I'm sure all teams are missing players due to covid and the injuries from the international break.
854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: November 24, 2020, 10:06:19 AM
Leeds played really well against Arsenal and the 0-0 scoreline really wasn't indicative of the game. Leeds hit the post 4 or 5 times and Arsenal did once but they barely did anything in that match. Shame they couldn't have got the 3 points as they don't deserve to be sitting all the way down in 14th place. Really didn't expect Liverpool to turn over Leicester like they did, but I did back the home win.

As you can see the prizes now look a lot better than they were when we started the season. They’ll be at least double that again by May.

Good luck everybody.

What makes you think that by May? Could just as easily plummet. We've seen both happen during the pools. Think one year the price went up significantly and another it was during the massive crash.

I highly doubt they will all the sudden change it out of the blue even if it does reach $50k (according to your prediction on the bitcoin coin to be) by May. So that being the end of the season and this competition.
This would not bode to well for those who play on both bitcasino.io/sportsbet.io and I highly agree they would not jeopardize their kinsmanship due to a little thing such as price.
They have much more than just this small prize giveaway rolling in day in and day out on both sites to just toss this trust down the tubes.

The prizes above don't have anything to do with Sportsbet as I will be issuing them, but the prizes are fixed in bitcoin so first place at 0.1BTC is probably a decent chunk of change for the winner. Hard to do this season given we've got about 50 users but will be interesting towards the end of the season when the race becomes tighter, and hopefully bitcoin will be worth more than it is today which will make it even more so.

Don't forget there's a game on Friday as people seem to miss them ones.
855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ]: Boxing - Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev on: November 24, 2020, 09:56:45 AM
Joshua v.s Pulev: Crowd of 1,000 in Play For Heavyweight Clash.

Quote
A crowd of 1,000 is set attend Anthony Joshua’s world heavyweight title defence against Kubrat Pulev on December 12.

The UK Government announced plans to allow spectators to return to sporting events on Monday when the present England lockdown ends on December 2.

While outdoor events will be allowed up to 4,000 spectators, indoor events will be allowed to admit 1,000 paying spectators.

So this is good news for boxing fans in UK as they are allowed to watch the match live because the government has allowed spectators, capped at 1000 paying boxing fans.

However, @1.09 odds for Joshua, not worth on ML.

Good news for anyone who's rich enough to be able to afford one of the one thousand tickets. They'll already be ridiculously expensive given the nature of the limited capacity of the fight, but the resale value will be insane which is probably where they'll make most of their money. Tickets that cost £1000 will probably go for ten times the amount. Well, that's if they even do allow spectators. The UK government just announced that even though lockdown will end on Dec 2nd very harsh restrictions are still going to be in place with three different tiers based on severity of cases so it's probably still going to be a lockdown in all but name. I bet they'll impose harsh restrictions on the North whilst letting the South go relatively free as well much like they did last time. Funny how thew virus effects people in the North far more severely whilst the politicians in London don't seem to get it as bad so they're free to live their lives and go about their business as they please.
856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: November 22, 2020, 04:27:34 PM
Did you guys see that?  It's getting ridiculous.  VAR should just be removed from the sport competely.  The players celebrated the goal, the fans celebrated the goal then the ref decides to remove the goal?  It's destroying the game.  IMHO.

Wait til the fans come back...

What goal and what fans?

The City game.  Laporte made a goal but the pass before it was declared hand ball.  The players celebrated the goal on the pitch, the fans for sure celebrated it at home as I did, then VAR says it's not a goal.. a couple of minutes later, mind you.

If everything comes back to normal with stadiums full and this shit keeps on happening, expect a riot esp in really important matches.

Edit:  They're trying to do it again rn..  Looking if somebody is a millimeter offside.  Lawl.  So ridiculous.  I think VAR should only be used for cards in the box, to decide if it's a penalty.  IMHO.

There's that many disallowed goals it's hard to keep up. Spurs had one as well in that game. The handball was another one of those close ones. By the new - silly - rules it might have not even been a handball either as to me it looked like it hit the sleeve of his shirt which would have made it ok. It is annoying when they go back to look for something in the build up to disallow it. How far are they allowed to go back? It should be called out immediately not play on, wait to see if they score, then rule out the goal. It's stupid. I mean, how long does it have to be before the time has elapsed to cancel something? I'm always reminded of the Portugal game where a penalty was give, then taken back and a penalty given at the opposite end which was the incorrect decision anyway. Insanity.

^  We could say the same with Everton's defense.  They're making Fulham look like LFC.  Lol.  This match should be 3 - 3 and it wouldn't be surprising if it comes to that and Fulham sneaks in another goal and win it imo.

Edit:  They're giving Fulham so much space.

Edit:  Pressing a little bit better now.  But still giving away the ball.

Shame they didn't get the equaliser as I had a draw on that game.
857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: November 20, 2020, 10:59:16 AM
with all the news regarding Covid, I would say that draw is the best option for Liverpool and Leicester match, although goals can be expected, it is not that if someone is missing from Liverpool that they will play with some youngsters, they have good and deep team subs, to cover situations like this
would not call the same for Leicester, and if Kasper is out (did not saw confirmation for this), that could have much more influence on their game, than Salah on LFC

from the others, Tottenham seems to be a team to watch, even for the title, Murinho knows how to play long seasons with 1:0 wins, and they are pretty tough contender for the title, especially if others lose some points in this early stage, as City already did
that is a match of the week for me, and I think that City is far from win tomorrow

There doesn't seem to be any update on whether Kasper's playing or not yet but he's said it looked worse than it was. Coaches/the FA can be worried about players playign with potential head injuries though and he might be forced to sit it out even though he's ok. If he's not playing I will probably go for the Liverpool win but will depend on the line-ups. I'm liking the draw on this though along with the City/Spurs fixture. I think Spurs can easily win their match too even though City are the bookies strong favourite, but it's one of those where I can't split so the draw is looking the best option. I could see a lot of goals in both games so 2-2 could be an option. I'll be watching them both either way along with the Leeds/Arsenal game.

858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: November 20, 2020, 10:52:16 AM
Base on the previous two team's head-to-head history, the result is quite equal for both.

Previous H2H records are nothing when it comes to comparing. Right now both team performances are different. Tottenham attack seems to be performing very good with Son and Kane linking up very nicely for couple of matches now since the season start. City's defense has always been a concern (it has been that way every season) but right now things seems to be kinda worst as City seems to be struggling really right now.

Spurs have good chance to win this if Man City are gonna be like the same they have been in previous matches.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to previous head to heads to be honest. Teams/squads vastly differ from year to year so previous results doesn't guarantee future results, not to mention we're in a weird and unique year with covid and no fans etc so anything can happen. City are the strong favourites but I'll probably go for a draw on this game with both teams to score. For anyone who have a Skybet account they have a really good offer on right now: Put any bet on the Spurs/City game and get a free £5 bet to use on anything:

I have also included the prediction for the scores in the superbru 1-3 Chelsea, 0-2 Everton, and 2-1 Tottenham (BTtS). Indeed, for the Tottenham - City match is very unpredictable but I believe, maybe this season is Mou's revival season or just a lucky start. Interesting to watch!

i think newcastle will not be able to score at least 1 goal in that game against chelsea, and i think chelsea can score 2 goals at most.

for the everton game I think Fulham can score at least 1 goal

for the City game, I think it will be very difficult to predict, the clty Is inconsistent like Tottenham

Apart from their last game Newcastle have scored at least one goal in their last six games. I think Chelsea will win but I think they can concede as well, but I think it will be a bit closer and will probably go for 2-1 to Chelski.

@hilarious
Agreed, I’m not a fan of international football at the best of times but this year especially it should have all been scrapped except possibly the qualifiers for the Euro’s.
Under no circumstance should the Nations League & friendlies be taking place when we are in a global pandemic.
Yes I would need to agree with you on this one.
My country fails to understand this. There was a France vs Ukraine match a while ago which I described in this thread, with Ukraine not standing a chance because of multiple positive COVID tests of the players. And yet just this week Switzerland cancelled a match with Ukraine because a few days before the match 8 players had positive COVID-19 tests. I'm glad that Switzerland took it seriously because the Ukrainian COVID-19 situation is horrible, and yet the head coach of our national team was basically outraged by this decision since "enough players had negative tests".

Every country seems to be doing their own thing. I saw some of the international games had fans there in the stadiums whilst there's zero in the UK and many other places.

Finally another prediction week on pool from tomorrow
The covid situation is a pain in the ass... having that variable on top of all mertics and stats can easily change my prediction for the pair
For example, Liverpool is playing against Leicester without 9 players, at the moment
And their performance is not as I expected will be on the start of the season... Idk, a possible underdog to catch on Saturday here

I'll probably go for the draw. Might put my both teams to score in both halves with 2 corners each half and 2 cards each bet on.

Skybet have another good offer on. Put any bet on the Spurs/City game and get a free £5 bet to use on anything:

Minimum bet is o 0.05p. Think I've had at least 5 of these free £5 bets this season.

Seems like it is hard for me to understand one thing.
Why should I pm a Mod to show him a proof that those accounts are obtained legal ?
Isn't everywhere: innocent until proven guilty ?
I believe if someone think they are illegal/stolen/hacked, they should provide valid proof based statement, and if I see one, I will show a MOD and MOD only how the were obtained because I am not interested to post my source public.
Also, I already share one of the method how they are obtained which is 1000% legal, not stolen and any kind of shady activity.

Well, this isn't a court of law but people have posted reasons why they're likely not legit. If someone comes here and offers guaranteed 1000% interest on a loan or investment we're going to call them out on it and assume they're a scammer even though we can't prove that they're not going to pay you 1000% interest, but they probably wont. But Ok, so let's say you're accused of a crime and are taken to court for selling illegally obtained accounts. The court asks you how did you acquire them. And you say....Huh You would have to prove to the court that you obtained them legitimately and that's what were asking you to do. You should be able to do this if they are in fact legit but if you can't then the burden of proof is on you but we will have to assume that they are almost certainly not obtained through legitimate means, which, let's be honest, they probably aren't, and that's what were going to assume until proven otherwise.
