What do you mean with the 10.000 BTC = 10.000 XMR?
You mean it can reach the current Bitcoin price, or that it will reach parity with BTC whatever the BTC price is?
I don't see this at all. I think XMR is a good coin, im invested, but it will never reach parity with BTC. No coin is going to be more valuable than Bitcoin, when sidechains open the gates towards endless possibilities we are going to see some serious shit.

Im sure there is money to be made by selling during bubbles, but it's too hard to know when the price is bubbled. As a long term holder I would easily hold for 5+ years without selling any sensible amount of my stack. It's all or nothing with this. Even Satoshi said so.

Of course you may think so but the topic of this thread since 2 years ago is a method how to invest in crypto so that you gain from the volatility and stay in black even if the end result is "nothing".

What I mean is that BTC has experienced serious problems with fungibility, regulation etc. and does not have leadership. Price has suffered as a result. A widely disproportionate number of the smartest guys in crypto have moved to Monero, and the opportunity is very much available still - Monero price is about 10-20% of what is was last year. I threw in a 10k to Bitcoin when everyone in our club was buying silver, thinking that diversification can never be bad, and due to that, I am able to write this in the conference room of my castle, looking at the opposite wall 17 meters away. There just isn't anything to lose when you buy Monero (the amount required to scoop the number corresponding to 10,000 BTC is nothing, even less than I paid to enter Bitcoin). If you believe BTC will stay larger that is all fine, silver is also more valuable than Bitcoin marketcapwise, but what counts here is if you make money or not with it.

I really think we should buy some more coins right now, but with too many expenses it really isn't feasible.

Buy Monero. If you ever dreamed of having 10,000 BTC, you can now buy 10,000 XMR for about $4k. Not too much, is it?

Total quantity of XMR is about the same as BTC, actually less, so this is a valid comparison.

Then just do the SSS plan methodically from the beginning  Grin

I have thought about it.  I have mentioned it to BitchicksHusband.  Some of us are more "visionary" than others though.  The educated "risk takers" do get the greatest rewards in life. Smiley

If you dreamed of having 1,000 BTC, buy 1,000 XMR. Surely you can afford $400?  Roll Eyes It is not even risk. Just set the rake thresholds 10x higher and the end result is just the same.

Clarification of design/dev roles

We talked in the Council about how to increase the development output. It was decided to be divided to the following roles:

Backend, DB, commands, API, modules, scripts, hosting, upkeep, bugfixing, permissions mgmt => Wizard

UI for core modules => Contractors

Testing => Testing coordinator

All other features => Freelance and/or profit-seeking 3rd parties (they need to monetize the modules themselves, eg. casino with house edge or GUI for Agora Marketplace with a trading fee)

Specification and project management excl testing management => Me (as Lead Designer)

Arrangement/priority of modules

Automated deposits/withdrawals

For automated deposits that are credited instantly, ETA is a few days. Automated withdrawals come later (no withdrawals are open yet due to ongoing desire to increase security level).

Building

Building will take a step back in detail, allowing an easy screen to be used by anyone to build things, which come pre-graded for their effects. At the same time this "new" building datatype will have to be forward-compatible with the "new2" building procedure when Skills come online, backward-compatible with existing "old" buildings, and compatible with the "new3" future visual voxel-based building editor (and every thing that is in any way related to buildings, almost everything comes to mind).

Help with ideas is appreciated at this very stage, after a week it's too late.

Despite the challenge, expect building to resume in 1611.

"Duty Paid" - Shop for items to be created from IC

We are seeking for a developer who could make this GUI module for IC->items conversion according to my specification. Paid work.

Health Challenge, including Eating

We hope to get this out during 1611 to give the challenge to that year and keep the game balance. It may go to 1612 however.

Character management, Skills module, TIME, labor, and customized entry (aka "Intermediate Version")

This is a large work in design side, and development as well. It will be commenced when the other listed features work fully, and should be completed and playable by the end 2015.

Economic subgames

These will be implemented one at a time to fit the structure provided in the Intermediate Version.

Year Change 1610

This is the "incomplete year change" due to being the first one in Ultima platform, and we must not only learn how to do it, but also many of the methods currently available are so clumsy that they will be created, and if this does not happen in time, the item is either cancelled and does not happen, or postponed, so that its effect is double-calculated later. (This already has double-calculated effects since this is a "double-year".)

CON

1,000 more consols are issued, and also existing Town debt will be CONsolidated and converted prior to payment. Total CON will be 2,240 after these entries, adding to the already nice liquidity there is (in monetary terms, CON bids near market are larger than any other bids incl CKG).

All these CON will receive the double-year dividend of 200,000 m.

The existing debt is converted as follows: the difference between emission yield of CON and TB1655 is calculated and the difference added to the current CON yield. TB1650 and TB1655 are both discounted to maturity using this yield. The result is divided by CON midprice. The integer part is given as CON items, and the remainder is given as money. Results:
TB1650 -> 6*CON + 5,675,913 m
TB1655 -> 6*CON + 2,637,175 m.

Promotions

No new promotions.

Food freebies

We seek to be able to add food items and give 100*VEG to commoners and 100*MEAT to nobles, with FOIE gras going to the holders of FOIS.

Drinks market

Due to extensive campaign in the countryside villages in the vicinity pro distilling your own vodka (to combat the next plague that will surely come), not only we have unlimited stocks of MEAD (@1,000), but the same applies to VOD (@140,000) as well.

Generation of new wine and silver from IC

This will happen as planned, with new items credited and IC deducted from your balance automatically.

Generation of stone

This is the last time to report changes into quarry companies. 1609 will have 2 teams by NewReconstructionCorp, but for 1610 it is possible to announce additions (in which case only 4 tranches are quarried at full cost) or layoffs, in which case the last year functions normally but additional 120 mil per team is paid and the team is not in the payroll in the next year anymore.

Carriages

Phaeton has laid off 50% of workforce, which has cut the production capacity in half (facility is still fully needed for the purpose though). New carriages can be self-converted by their CEO after a short introduction from me concerning how it is done.

Suits

As far as I know, NF is not employing any tailors now, instead waiting that the business becomes better. Lucky them for having this opportunity.

Royal Mint

Royal Mint specialists + facility are fixed costs. The Mint has noticed that 16xxA coins are in great demand, others not so much. Anticipating that the EXP->CKG generation script is not fully reliable starting Monday, we take the liberty to mint both CR1609A and CR1610A coins. Unlike the previous announcement that we mint 20*CR16xxE even if nobody wants them, we do not mint such coins in 1609 and 1610. CR-E series has had gaps before as well, and the most recent mintages are from 1606, 1605, 1604, 1603, 1602, 1601, 1599, 1598, 1597, 1595, 1593, 1590.

Despite rather low demand of silver coins, we utilize the capacity to mint 20*CSxxxxE silver coins for each year and list them for sale cheaply. Perhaps some day somebody will want to collect'em all (in which case securing a CS1607E is key, because only 9 exist). King's longer term plan is that we could move from foreign TS-silver coins (weighing 12 g) to Royal Mint CS-coins (of 5 g) but so far no progress has been achieved.

If you are an API coder and can make a web UI for ordering mint products, which would have admin UI for editing the proposal and one click creates the items for the orderer and funds come to the Mint, contact me. A token (100 mil + free copies of items?) reward.

CKG and building pool dividends

These will not be dealt. The money accrues to the earmarked accounts so this does not constitute any harm except delayed cashflow.

Salary

We seek to be able to distribute free money to L3-L7 characters in double (1.4-5.6 mil). This is the last in priority however so may be delayed.

I am not into top-down control over people. I don't know if that is what angered you.

I am angered that you don't let yourself to be helped. That your perception of the quality of information sources is off so bad it hurts you. That you can't seem to appreciate that I know what I talk about when I say I do (this is a compliment, for towards 99% of people I give 0 fucks because it is evident they don't have a chance of understanding and that's all right I also don't do high jump). That (almost) nothing you have said here in the last months has added to my understanding, whereas in 2008 I owe you so much in building my basic knowledge of things. That you are wasting your precious time here. That you cannot design financial constructions to develop and monetize your ideas, and don't let anyone who can, do it, even for free and no strings attached. That I am constantly getting PM from people whom I know and appreciate (though not as well as I do you), and these people say that MS has made Anonymint "lose it" and they either propose me to "take action" (pushing a rope) or "forget about it" (I cannot forsake my friends).

Just to clear the strawman attempt concerning paramilitaries.

Of course "Russia" has paramilitaries in an area that is inhabited by Russians and has been part of Russia as long as New Mexico has been a part of (Spanish) Mexico*.

Now consider the war of occupying New Mexico: do you really believe there is no right for Mexicans who don't personally live in the attacked area to not help their relatives against aggression?

We are not talking about a minor conflict - Novorossiya is about 20% of all Russians. If 50 million of US population were under threat of slaughter, it would cause feelings in the relatives as well - hardly anyone can say that nobody he knows is affected.

Why is people fighting for their lives against a foreign unwarranted and unwanted aggression by an inferior culture, wrong? You could as well say you supported the Union!  Roll Eyes

And even if Russia comes to aid with regular forces, that is just as bad as the United States using federal army to fend off intruders in the soil of some of its states. (Which btw was hotly debated in the Confederacy, contributing to their defeat).

If Armstrong is not even touching these basics in his blog posts, it just means that he thinks they are not suitable for the audience. Believing that he is ignorant of them is implausible, we were taught them in high school (special weekend camp in global strategy, with lecturers from global think tanks, military academy etc. - oh shit how the free & socialized education is baad...)

*And 80 years longer than it has been part of the U.S. subsequently.

**Wikipedia has a decent explanation of Novorossiya's older history.

***Nothing in this is aimed to discredit the Ukrainians' right to self-rule (Ukrainians live in the "western" part of Ukraine), but fact is that such has never existed in history, and does not exist now as the Kiev government is foreign puppet. Same as Estonia has had factual self-rule about 20 years in its history 1920-1939, never before nor after. Finland's self-rule has been about 1865-1985 using the same criteria and US about 1700-1913(1990s). All these peoples should have the right to self-rule, with human rights (of the non-collectivists) uninfringed.

I funded the main Finnish independent news outlet for a whole year since the start of the conflict, during which time the reporters visited both Kiev/Maidan and Donbass many times and I was offered firsthand info (which I turned down because I could not utilize it anyway, just wanted the info to be available for all as a counterweight to the jewmedia that controls every single national outlet in Finland).

I base my findings off of photos of Russian paramilitaries in Eastern Ukraine that Armstrong's on-the-ground sources provided.

I read that East Ukraine was being funded, trained, supported, and infiltrated by Russian paramilitaries.

I heard that they say so in jewmedia  Roll Eyes

Sorry, we can have intelligent conversations in subjects where both have experience level somewhat in the ballpark.

As for mine, regarding the Ukrainian conflict:
- I funded the main Finnish independent news outlet for a whole year since the start of the conflict, during which time the reporters visited both Kiev/Maidan and Donbass many times and I was offered firsthand info (which I turned down because I could not utilize it anyway, just wanted the info to be available for all as a counterweight to the jewmedia that controls every single national outlet in Finland).
- I have also had personal dinner with cigars with the owner of a manor in Estonia in his place, which was even decorated with NATO symbols, this person was instrumental in the independence of Estonia from Soviet Union and the NATO influence here 25 years ago (Estonia was couped to NATO in the same way that was attempted in Ukraine, with the difference that Russia could not fight back in 1991). Since then he has served as NATO intelligence chief in known conflict areas, Estonian parliament and many other places I am not inclined to find out.
- I know current and former MP's and cabinet members and Euro-MP's, in many countries, some personally. (Not to mention CEOs of public companies etc. etc.)
- These provide interesting insight which can be amended to the knowledge received from google search (which completely feeds you what they think is best).

So please, I don't find it funny that you are trolling with this any longer: I am not even asking if you have any of the credentials above because your writing so glaringly reveals the answer.

All I want, as a result of finding out all this, is to have the wisdom that enables me to design a better system: see Crypto Kingdom for my latest attempt.
1631  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Devastation on: October 17, 2015, 11:25:26 AM
both are "enough" against an invader who is not welcome

Contrary to Wikipedia's claim of 30 guns per 100 people in Germany, the national registry only counts 5.5 million guns in a population of 81 million. Also only 1.4 million people have guns contrasted against apparently nearly 50% of the population in the USA. Also Germany's gun laws are very restrictive, so these are not predominately AR-15s that are necessary to fight in war environment, but rather useless handguns and almost useless sporting rifles.

I think you will find similarly is true of France, but better than Germany.

The number of guns in USA by some estimates exceeds 400 million. And USA Patriots have been stocking up on AR-15s and hollow point ammunition. They are even 3D printing/milling their own fully automatic lower part of the gun in some cases since you can construct such a gun legally I think.

My quoted part shows the essential. In the Warsaw ghetto there was a real shortage of weapons and ammunition, yet it was spent wisely. It is irrelevant if the number of rifles (and yes, hunting rifles work as sniper rifles) is 1, 10 or 100 million. It is anyway asymmetric warfare when civilian guns play any role.

If the number is only a few thousand, the armed resistance is more difficult. But you can manufacture more if needed. And unarmed resistance is also very potent.

Quote
I don't think core Europeans are into community militias (perhaps in eastern Ukraine) and preparing for a war against the government or an outsider Communist/Muslim invader. Americans actually prepare for that. There were some who were prepared if the "Japs" wanted to invade.

Eastern Ukraine was completely ordinary guys until their "own" Kiev government (the puppets installed nominally by US, actually by banksters in a coup) started persecuting and killing them. Now they are holding very well against the aggression. I have no belief they are intrinsically more heroic than the rest of Europeans. Also Serbians were just ordinary guys before the NATO felt it was needed to destroy their cities in the heart of Europe!

You are writing sweeping generalizations which have no basis in anything except your ignorance! In Europe, my friends easily know more about military strategy and history than I, let alone you, do - despite being not the least militarist themselves. Any European country if isolated, can hold equally well as Serbia or Republic of Donbass. My prior claim that Europe as a whole can fend off NATO invasion is not that difficult to believe when you realize that each attempt against the smallest of the countries isolated, has failed.

I am not quitting the forum but this thread is done for a while.
1632  Economy / Economics / Re: Martin Armstrong Discussion on: October 17, 2015, 08:49:03 AM
AltcoinUK, I am not going to set a threshold as high as $112,000 for the donation bounty on that one anonymity invention, even though I think it is a very significant feature. I am just stating what my earning opportunity cost had been inflation-adjusted from 2001. So hopefully the market will understand I am not going to give that feature away for $10,000.

The way it works is that you first decide what level of control you want to retain, and whether it is
- by charter
- by preferred shares, or
- by majority/required supermajority of shares.

Then you write the charter. Then you sell the shares up to the number you want. Then we have a 24/7 market where they are traded. If your project is perceived good, people will buy up the shares, and you can sell more if you have more monetary needs.

CK's own financing like this has allowed me to keep about 45% of the shares and accumulate 25% of the other assets in the game. It has been about a wash cash-flow wise and prevented me from working in another project for a year.

But I still have the 45% superminority of the shares, and they are worth $200k or something. A year ago I was where you are now, holding an infinitely powerful idea in my head worth billions, valued at $0 and owning 100% of it.

In 2013, I made $millions in BTC. It's at least possible that 2016 will become the first payout year from all I have done since the last BTC bubble.

Please consider what are the:
- contributions you need
- limits of influence you must retain
- money you require
- plan for acquiring more stakeholders to increase public skin in the game and rake money out yourself
- what the owners ultimately get.
1633  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Devastation on: October 17, 2015, 08:31:29 AM
Your comment is the first I have ever seen discussing a US invasion of Europe.  There is no way that would/will ever happen.  As you point out, the continent is far away from US shores.  And, we trade with Europe, our tourists visit Europe and we buy German cars.  Why would we want to invade?  Europe doesn't even have any natural resources we would like to seize...

The thought of Russians coming to the aid of Europe during a US invasion, now THAT makes me smile.  Smiley

Nor does Europe have any guns we would like to seize, we have our own.

Have no fear Europe!  Have no fear Britain!  The Yankees are NOT coming!  Rest easy!

By sentence:

Quote
As you point out, the continent is far away from US shores.

As such, this has not repelled successful US invasions to Japan and Europe, against committed defence. US High Seas fleet is sovereign.

Quote
And, we trade with Europe, our tourists visit Europe and we buy German cars.

And you did in WWI as well, nevertheless declared war.

Quote
Why would we want to invade?

War, in general, is rarely in the interest of the people. All major wars starting from Napoleon have been fomented, instigated and financed by zionists whose agenda does not equal happiness of people.

Quote
Europe doesn't even have any natural resources we would like to seize...

Europe is producing quite a lot of natural resources but since its population is almost double that of North America, and land area is smaller, the consumption situation is net negative.

Quote
The thought of Russians coming to the aid of Europe during a US invasion, now THAT makes me smile. Smiley

Yes people smile at things they don't understand.

If you would read history, the general sentiment among US population as late as 1916 was to stay away from the war despite large sympathy to the German cause. Going to war allied with the British, the Archenemy since the war of independence, was a ridiculous idea. The Europeans have no reason to think of Russia as their Archenemy and even if they did, remember: one year. Hmm... ominous, what is the year we are living...  Undecided

Quote
Nor does Europe have any guns we would like to seize, we have our own.

Yes, that is correct. Modern NATO weapons systems are dependent on software upgrades from the US. The generals in Europe try to buy some such weapons to pay homage to the bankers whose front NATO is, while maintaining independent defence. The problem is that the weapons are only effective in shooting civilians from the air (main NATO activity since the fall of Soviet Union). They are disabled against the US. They are inferior to the Russians. Subduing a country if the attacker has high tech and inferior culture, does not work (see list of all NATO ground invasions and their results).

Also, no, you are incorrect. Civilian gun ownership in the US is about 250 million units, in France and Germany combined about 50 million. Per capita US is 2x higher but in absolute values, both are "enough" against an invader who is not welcome. Unlike in 1944, there is no popular support for increasing US/NATO presence anywhere in Europe, even jewmedia cannot hide it.
1634  Economy / Economics / Re: (SSS) - A Sane and Simple bitcoin Savings plan on: October 17, 2015, 07:54:18 AM
Yes but hubby wants to sell at a lower price than I do.  He reminded me that he wanted to sell earlier but we didn't.  It seems to always be my fault in hindsight. Wink  I will try my best this time not to stop him from selling.  I admittedly have talked him out of selling before.  But I think if we get a good bubble going the price will go well over our previous ATH.  I guess having a plan in place is wise.  We really don't know for sure what is going to happen.

Just that you have a plan. If your analysis of the expected value turns negative, my advice is to sell at regular intervals instead of SSS, because then the investment gets sold in your base case (price going down) yet gains are somewhat dollar-averaged in the happy case (price going up).

In other words: SSS should be used so that the rake price points are multiples of original entry point. Otherwise you take the risk yet cap the gains. It is bad luck that if you(s) almost did not hit your rake last time. I did. My first cashout ever in 15 years of investing... Luck plays a role.
1635  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Devastation on: October 16, 2015, 09:12:00 PM
The biggest asset that banks hold now is government debt  ... Its another failure in the making

I believe this is totally by design in order to force a crisis that leads to European federalization and consolidation of the debts across national boundaries in order to remove State sovereignty from Europe. And Europeans are in no position whatsoever to resist this because they don't even have the mindset that governance is bad and the guns to retain individual sovereignty.

Russia can slice through Europe like a hot knife through warm butter, which can be the pretext for Brussels/NATO to take greater control in a military emergency.

You know the elite never waste a good crisis. And they are good at manufacturing crises.

Excellent post.

The situation is not as grim as you present it, however. Not all politicians are evil, most are incompetent, but there are quite many who try to resist the federalization within the system.

For instance, unlike US, the European militaries are by and large in nationalist control. TPTB has tried to convert them to NATO armies whose equipment can be switched off from Pentagon if they turn against the puppetmasters, but this has not been completely achieved.

Finland has 0.9 million trained reserve (US trained reserve is 2.8 million). Finnish reservists are ordinary guys, I have undergone 9 months special forces reservist training myself. If even the US has problem making their troops mindless killing machines, with Finnish army it is a given that it will not be used to further TPTB goals. European generals have non-NATO coordination meetings, working behind the scenes to keep the situation as it is.

United States cannot invade Europe, despite all that you have conditioned yourself to believe. Heck, they have not been able to conquer and keep any place they have invaded since Hawaii.

Russia could invade Europe, but of course they have no reason to do it. In case of US invasion, Russia is called for help instead.

When I received this information from a knowledgeable source, I was first afraid that I have been given a secret to keep concerning the military shadow governance in Europe (I don't keep secrets). I was assured that the information is public, and all the parties mentioned in the text know it very well. The Deep State matters are deep. Focusing on one actor (TPTB) alone is prudent only when no other actors exist, otherwise it is folly.

Can we assume this initiative is dormant? Or is it dead?

As the first project, we created a virtual world, and then morphed ourselves in.

The MEW executives, me, David and NewLiberty, are the 3 founding characters in Crypto Kingdom, nuff said ?  Cheesy

Then that project got surprise delays, but now they are behind.

Are you saying that MEW funds have been invested in Crypto Kingdom?  Was any discussion / vote ever held on that?

Well no. Crypto Kingdom was a MEW initiative and got so immersive that we forgot about the bureaucracy. My understanding is that David as the Members Executive still controls the funds since he collected and treasured them, and despite time passing, I would believe he has not done anything to them since the legit use would have required contacting me, which has not happened.

1637  Economy / Economics / Re: Martin Armstrong Discussion on: October 16, 2015, 07:09:33 PM
I am not too optimistic that a donation model can sufficiently fund, but I am willing to test it and find out.

Crypto Kingdom has been able to raise about $100k in its history for itself. But few know how much it has been able to raise for others. More than 10,000 XMR has been donated to Monero development through it directly. More than a dozen companies have been started and they are now valued between 1,000 and 30,000 XMR each.

What if you establish your project in Crypto Kingdom and start fundraising there?

What is best, you can self decide the governance model that suits you. Consider the following. A random company I founded in CK with no prior announcement and no guarantee about any returns (in fact explicit mention that there are no voting rights, nothing should be expected in weeks, which is a long time in the game, and that I solely decide what will be received as dividends) has raised 1,100 XMR in 10 hours.

No red tape. Otherwise such small deals would not be possible.
1638  Economy / Economics / Re: Martin Armstrong Discussion on: October 16, 2015, 06:28:12 PM
Well of course the thread is about trading advice, so I am in the wrong place.

Fundamentally, Bitcoin has its place in my portfolio, so extreme movements (going to $100 could be such) cause rebalancing.

Anything between that and $3,000 does not make my allocation of assets unsound, and thus does not cause any action.

Have you(p) noticed that constantly speculating about where some price is going and what to do, saps your energy away from productive uses? My worth is 7-figure yet I do not have time to speculate or earn money, I have more valuable projects going on now.

bitcoin going up, anyone know why? i thought 2015.75 was supposed to be the armageddon, instead we have a rally! wtf?

I don't know nothing about Armstrong, but even I know that 2015.75 WAS the armageddon, the low point of private assets.

Bitcoin IS now going up until the next trend turn.

This post will soon be enlarged to be a schedule concerning how the many different features and modules that already were in the latest Google version (the one in use from autumn 1600 to Ultima) now work, and when this working state is reached.

It is expected that everything works in 2 weeks and that this post will be finalized tomorrow.

(It is buried already so I quoted instead - this post is continuation to the Fundamentals a day ago)

Important information for all players old and new - How to Play the Game

Start

Go to cryptokingdom.me and type your shortname (important - cannot be changed) and password. The game starts there and now. A visitor mode also exists. Password recovery info (email) is possible to add later in your settings. Playing is free.

Money and Deposit

The monetary unit is "m" (1 millionth of 1 XMR, and 1 XMR ~ 0.0015 BTC ~ 0.40 USD). Ingame, the unit 1,000,000 m is abbreviated "mil". It has the same value as the out-of-game 1 XMR but it is advisable to use "mil" since they are two different things, only pegged in value.

Contact HE The Prince of Ramsey (in BCT: "saddambitcoin"), who operates a depository, whose depository shares (item_id: "M") are used as money in the game. You receive 1,000,000 shares for each 1 XMR you deposit. You can also buy "M" (or any other ingame things) from anyone who is willing, using anything mutually agreed as payment in the exchange. The game is all about freedom, and does not accept deposits directly. More depositories are coming in the future to hedge the risks; only players in excellent standing are considered worthy of receiving a license.

Depositing is strictly voluntary - the game parameters in this early stage are customized so that older players (on average) subsidize new players, so it might be an interesting challenge to play without deposit. Most of the investment opportunities are naturally forgone this way.

Time

The game has a slow tempo: the main hosting script is run weekly, and it is called year_change, because it changes the game year (among other things). This weekend we change from 1609 to 1610. The game can be played by logging in once per week, but has incremental benefits for more frequent play. Unless you are an active trader in the Agora Marketplace, once per day and 10-30 minutes per session is very sufficient for a full experience, though some bonuses are directly dependent on how much real time you spend playing and thus there is no maximum.

Character basics

Characters don't yet have much meat in them, the main parameters are Age and Level. Age increases the health challenge requirements (more costly to keep your health from going down), and Level increases status. A trait bonus system and skills system are in development and should be live by the end of 2015.

Health, Food and Drinks

By the end of this month (and year 1611) the Health Challenge module should be in operation, so what is told here is not applicable yet.

Health Challenge is an amount of health points that will be deducted from your health in the next year_change unless remedied. The way to remedy it is by eating and drinking (all the other things affecting health are taken into account in the challenge amount). This means that by using CONSUME command (syntax: CONSUME item_id amount) you can eat 200 instances/units of food items and 200 of drink items per year.

It is very advisable to eat the full amount, because if this is not done, the character starves and dies in 5-10 years. To help with this, the bulk of the foods needed come to characters "for free" because commoners do gardening, Knights hunting, and Earls receive foie gras as tribute from their fief holdings. The rest can be bought from the market (or sold - if you have too much of wrong kind).

With drinks, they come in various kinds and some are very expensive. Experiment with how well they work for you and find the combination that suits your needs and budget.

Death

If your character dies - which does not happen by accident since your health progress is shown, and even complete neglect does not kill it in less than a month - you can still log in to your account, but the only thing you can do is to manage your assets and gift them to a new character that you have started. Upon death, the Town will reserve the right to collect the burial costs (2 mil) and an estate tax of 10% of your assets at market value (though there is no decision to do it yet as we don't expect deaths for a few years). These can be avoided by gifting the assets to the heir in time.

Levels

The important things you need to know is that:
- Nobles outrank commoners
- Earl, Marquess, Prince and Duke (latter is higher) have earned their promotions by their own effort and many of them have experienced all the trials of our first year of the game existence. They are therefore very wise and also their character is worth 10,000s of XMR in liquid assets only. It is the custom, just and right, to treat them with utmost reverence, and address Princes by Your Excellency (YE) and Dukes by Your Highness (YH) when engaging in conversation with them. (If the King addresses you, the proper reply is "Your Majesty, - -")
- Commoner target level is Master (L6), which brings the best labor bonuses etc. It can be reached by 30-40 years of age with normal gameplay, and sooner with a deposit, because it speeds up achieving the targets a lot.
- There is no limit how long it is possible to live, health challenges just gets harder when you age. The antemycetians (people who lived a long time in the Ancient Era and are up to 250 years old now) will need to spend several times more in just staying alive than you make from the Labor pool). Well-tended commoners can live to about 60 years, and my expectation is that during this time everyone who starts now has amassed so much wealth that they can join the ranks of the "immortals" if they so prefer.

Land

There is land, and that can be purchased. More land will always come to the game so the total quantity is not limited, but it will be further away from where things are happening. Land in the 1-C/1-N (center of the Old Town) is even now selling for 50x the price than the land in Borough 8, even though the latter is only a mile away.

Buy a house, but wait some time before engaging in land speculation, because that is a big boys' game. Land is easy to buy but difficult to sell at a good price except during land booms, which will happen frequently but you cannot forecast them with certainty (mass psychology).

Building

It is possible to build new buildings. All the hundreds of current ones have been built and paid for (in stone, labor, windows, luxuries) during the years of the existence of the game from 1432 to 1606.

But, we are evaluating the need to change the building datatype, for which reason at the very present new building is disabled and all the companies making building materials are producing to stock. The estimate when this is enabled again is 1-2 weeks.

Items

Items database is completely shown in Agora Marketplace. This is to add transparency to the game in this period of quick changes. The downside is that every trinket that is never intended to come to market is there cluttering the listings. The listing below has stars to indicate the interest in trading the item_type (saving your effort trying to figure it out):

How are foods and drinks generated to the game?

CAV is a special - when the beluga sturgeon is harvested, a great-ish quantity of caviar is obtained and must be kept and eaten quickly. We don't have a steady supply of caviar yet.

FOIE comes as a dividend of FOIS, the ancient pecking order of dividing the tribute from the countryside (mostly to the highest people).

MEAT is given to every noble, 100 units per year.

VEG is given to every commoner, 100 units per year.

In the summertime (about Thursday-Friday), much VEG comes to the market so have bids ready or go pick yours. Market is open 24/7.

MEAT is coming to market all year.

FOIE only comes to market if the characters who receive it decide to sell.

* *

MEAD will be producible by anyone, at present the Town sells from unlimited supply at 1,000 / bottle.

Church still has BEER monopoly, selling from the produce of their brewery.

WINEs have a few years time that they are converted from IC (which you get from owning a house mainly, or can buy the IC or the wine). After that they are trading in the market. Some wines take decades to mature but they can always be consumed.

SPIrits are rewards of quests and storytelling.

Salary

All costs and no pay? Don't worry. At present commoners get salary as follows:

L3  700,000 m
L4  1,050,000 m
L5  1,400,000 m
L6  2,100,000 m.

It can supply you with what is lacking from the homegrown food, buy some drinks, and keep you housed and suited. Or if not, consider tapping into the free giveaways so abundant in the game, or deposit yourself.

(The salary concept is a short-term hack, but amounts should be indicative of the future.)
