“The Ontario Provincial Police and Royal Canadian Mounted Police are currently investigating cryptocurrency donations being collected in relation to illegal acts falling under the scope of the Emergency Measures Act,” the RCMP order begins.

“Pursuant to the Emergency Economic Measures Order, under subsection 19(1) of the Emergencies Act, there is a duty to cease facilitating any transactions pertaining to the following cryptocurrency address(es).”

Trudeau’s officers list 29 Bitcoin addresses, 2 Ethereum, and 1 wallet each of Cardano, Monero, and Litecoin.

Let them bitches try to stop Monero transactions!

Is Monero under some heavy attack or what?
One pool had over 50% of hashrate and this is very centralized and dangerous.
If you are mining monero switch to some other pool asap!

Yes! I saw that earlier today.  Kind of inspiring, really.  The community is stronger than so many other projects.

There are currently 11709 Monero public nodes.  That is effing amazing.  There are only 15k BTC ones (Of course both of these numbers do not tell the WHOLE story).
BTC :15k
XMR: 11.7k
BCH 1k
BSV 36 (lol)
LTC 1330
DOGE 1450
ZCASH 285

Monero is so much more important than most realize.

you forgot

ETH : 1

Mining 32 cores on p2pool...  good stuff.  Join it.  We need more hashrate!

I'm too lazy, been throwing my spare cycles to solo for a year in the gui even though I'm getting about a third what xmrig would give me.

As soon as its in the gui i'll do it.

I got sick and tired of dealing with baby sitting mining rigs at least 5 years ago.

Wasn't there a separate thread for all the COViD discussions.....

Actually this convoy thing is supporting the immutability argument which makes it a different animal all together.

Oh yeah, the seizing of bank accounts and the utter stupidity of trusting some cheap shit Christian "donation" site run by people who can't seem to hire people to secure the... thing (maybe they trust in the LORD) points out why crypto is a good idea and is worthy of discussion.

However the "fake virus" crap (and the "Dude, you're gonna DIE stuff) should stay out of this thread. I sit on my hands myself......

Back to the regularly scheduled drama.

This thread has been full of drama for so long I doubt the lie it was created to watch walls.

Bottom line is this is definitely on topic.

*note I'm not making any argument for selectivity choosing whats discussed here, just like roach shit I just hit the ignore button.

crash imminent, bitcoin is now dead for the next 2 years confirmed

edit: not worried about bitcoin, since 1btc = 1btc, but all others, nfts...and all that pile of vaporware

Seems appropriate.

As we have Haiku Sunday and I am completely unfit to create such non-rhyming poetry, I deem it appropriate to post about Haiku OS which is basically the successor of BeOS and has a vivid history.
They released last week their third beta of the initial release and those of you that are interested in alternative operating systems might want to take a closer look. I reckon fans of MacOS in earlier times might find it appealing.

Quote from: What is Haiku OS?
Haiku is an open-source operating system that specifically targets personal computing. Inspired by the BeOS, Haiku is fast, simple to use, easy to learn and yet very powerful.

I gave it a whirl in qemu and on real hardware and I am thrilled by its clean and simple design and it's performance. A very refreshing experience and I will keep it on my watchlist.

A nice, sunny and funny Sunday to all of you, may the 45k be with us!

EDIT: screenshot added

I still have the original cd for BeOS on release I got mailed.

I installed Haiku again last year to see the improvements and chatted with one of the devs for a while, what other OS can you install and have a dev lurking for a chat!

A private investigator who does missing persons searches and accepts Monero posted here, or somewhere, offering his services.  Anybody has a link?

I saw that in a reddit post.

Pretty good critical analysis of blockchain tech. Monero solves many (but not all) of the problems discussed. It gets a brief mention, but clearly David hasn't taken a close look.

Hey all you Texans (there tends to be alot of you guys in this thread) I have a question for you.

Is SmartEnergy the name of the company that scammed everyone during the blackout last year?

I just got a unsolicited offer from them to switch over offering credit and seem to remember that is one of the companies that screwed you guys over.

it has an average score of 1 (out of 5), FYI.
I would never use them, but one time I used a company with many negs (not on my own volition) and it turned out OK in the end.
The main thing-do they bill right and do they process payments correctly? If a few people say that they don't, then i don't even consider it.

Thanks, I have no intention of using them but I'm wondering if they got away with fucking all those texans so now they are trying to move into other states.

But I still don't know if thats one of the companies that did it.

I would think a company that was fucking people over while the people they were supposed to be serving were literally dieing would have been shut down by now, not expanding.

So that is really why I want to know if thats one of them or the one. I'm not even sure if it was multiple companies.

It's funny that company (and places) names in US are now turned completely Orwellian doublespeak.
Examples: Sunnyside-biggest s-thole in Houston, Haverstock hills, New hope, Brigid's hope, Magnificat houses, etc., etc. All below par.
So, if you see something like "Shiny Hill Village apartments", stay away.
So, by this critetia, a company that calls itself "Smart" is likely to be at the bottom of the barrel.

Once the politicians got away with stealing away our constitutional rights by calling it a "patriot act". the companies jumped on the bandwagon.

It's amazing how stupid the general population really is.

But at this point all of this is nothing more but baseless speculation. Smiley

Dude has everything. Goes out on top. GOAT forever.

Versus gambling for one more SB ring or a possible injury or just having a bad frustrating season and tarnishing his stats/reputation/etc.

I hope Gisele puts her foot down and keeps him retired. As for money, he can still make many millions with ads and merchandise and maybe working in broadcasting or coaching or whatever tickles him.

All true and valid points but logic sometimes doesn't come into play when pride and competitiveness comes into the equation.

In the end I bet he will choose with emotions.
