1641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | Funding the future with the future of currency on: September 14, 2014, 02:52:56 AM

if my understanding of the multisig is correct, the non-creators (djnocide and Armis) don't need rawtransaction info, as secondary authorizers we only need the 'hex' info because that is all we actually sign.

Thats right. I think I know where this is failing. The error occurs at the very beginning when I create the rawtransaction. The problem is the 'listunspent' command doesnt return with the multisig address & balance even though coins have been sent to it & have been confirmed by the network. Again, this is suggesting a possible problem with RPC calls in the wallet. If I run the getreceivedbyaddress on the address I get a 0.00 balance also. According to http://uscyberlabs.com/blog/2014/06/14/how-to-bitcoin-multi-signature-address-wallet/ this means the address isnt registered in the blockchain. I'll need to look into this further.

huh, but your earlier result was 'true' which means you found success.  I thought it only needed the single change from '1' to '2'.

When you said: "have been confirmed" how did that occur?   It's hard to understand that the RPC (Remote Procedure Call) failed if the transaction took place?  Are you able to see it via the Transaction ID on the blockchain?  Are you saying that you have proof of payment but no payment in the destination wallet?

Remember, you are not providing specific details for us to see, and since you are on both sides of the transaction we must assume that when you speak of a specific address, key, wallet, or command that it pertains to the intended and correct address, key, and or wallet.

Hi Armis, I've sent you a further PM. Essentially, sends to the wallet are confirming, which are visible in the 'sent to' transaction list (sent from mine & other wallets). So the money is arriving it seems (though this is not 100% confirmable without a working block explorer).

The problem is I am not getting the required data I need (showing the multisig wallet balance & other info) when I run the 'listunspent' or 'getreceivedbyaddress' commands, which are required before I can create a 'spend' from the address.

Thanks for all of the communications, I think it adequately outlines the help we need to solve this problems.  Hopefully someone reading this will enable us to get the help we need to solve this problem.   I'm sorry we have not found success in this endeavor as of yet.

I did as you instructed about 30 different ways none of which worked.

After viewing the following videos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIbUSaZBJgU
and
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSA1pwlaypc

I got some insight as to what may be the cause of the problems, I will pm you with those.

Ok, thanks for the PM.

I did create several multisig addresses in testing so its possible your right.

I have created a new multig address as per below which shows 2 sigs are required:

{
"isvalid" : true,
"address" : "3PBBYdzFgbQLAa3G7EBceztXBS5LBnuY1U",
"ismine" : true,
"isscript" : true,
"script" : "multisig",
"addresses" : [
"ERft1iSzs1FR3zRudmJMn58BmxoeHshwRh",
"ELLm3P3SAdEMgkQ1k4wgRDyAT8fRLT1kw3",
"EM98cArBr62Fgugk9nFP8mCfTWcPGGBiXW"
],
"sigsrequired" : 2,
"account" : "EMC2 Multisig"
}

I'm going to send another rawtransaction to this address & sign it, & will then PM you to test.

btw, I take it you didnt see the 0.01 transaction appear in your wallet prompting for signoff of the payment?

statement in red is true.

if my understanding of the multisig is correct, the non-creators (djnocide and Armis) don't need rawtransaction info, as secondary authorizers we only need the 'hex' info because that is all we actually sign.

Armis/djnocide,

I have tested again using the new wallet & am close to getting multisig working.

Can either (or both) of you open your EMC2 wallet & go to console>command & enter the following:

signrawtransaction '0100000001729040024947fe9f46b78fc65b5d05c962118287b9fbe3973d0813410289788a00000 00000ffffffff0140420f00000000001976a9148070b263a71a2efabe4d5b31d0ed8e7e1a9c0043 88ac00000000' '[{"txid":"8a7889024113083d97e3fbb987821162c9055d5bc68fb7469ffe474902409072","vout":0,"scriptPubKey":"a9141dab86596f0bb0da3690c469a0596dc54da8fbe687","redeemScript":"52210294fbc3733687f774e5059d059c97cbc35972c63d35161c6eef80f9b389c240dc210230bc6 c53410e9f54726d2c34e3a7cdf8e5073ba3e46f1a3d955adaac4dbffbf321028de9b81443e46507 81cd260165008eef1138e4e8f1ab094ad35fe74def88199353ae"}]' '["yourprivatekey"]'

If entered correctly, it will come back with something like:

{
"hex" : "0100000001729040024947fe9f46b78fc65b5d05c962118287b9fbe3973d0813410289788a00000 00000ffffffff0140420f00000000001976a9148070b263a71a2efabe4d5b31d0ed8e7e1a9c0043 88ac00000000",
"complete" : true
}

This is a test send of 0.01 EMC from the multisig wallet address we created. If this works it should release the funds from our multisig wallet and send 0.01EMC to a wallet I created on another machine.

Please PM me if you have any questions and/or with the results.

1646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Report To The EMC2 Community on: September 09, 2014, 04:16:56 PM
Report To The EMC2 Community

A week into this new management's administration, we have experienced ups, and ups, and ups, and also some downs -- all in stride.  Although we are up to the task we know our goals can be realized faster with more assistance from concerned EMC2 community members -- please volunteer some of your time.

Review, Reconcile, Rethink, and Rebuild

did
Analyzing -- we looked at all major systems, did comparisons, and ran probabilities to get a good idea of what the true condition of EMC2 was, particularly how it was viewed: in the world of science, in the CC world, and in its own community (introspective).

Assessing -- we determined that in the world of science einsteinium.org was irrelevant,  in the CC world EMC2 was insignificant, and in the EMC2 community as a whole EMC2 was hopeless.   However, we also determined that EMC2 could regain some core strength if it focused its limited resources on vital areas, most specifically market value.  It was then determined that if we could responsibly (no market tricks) increase the worth of the coin by 25% in the span of 3 days it would signal the faint heart beat of a coin regaining consciousness.

Planning -- we determined that with the focused attention of at least 3 committed community leaders it was possible to stop the financial hemorrhaging that was dooming the coin, we believed that if we could show the community that the coin was no longer bleeding that it was possible to reverse its immediate condition over a permissible time.   Little did we know that the community would respond so positively to the management change.

Executing -- to date 97% of all relevant EMC2 management material has been provided.  The transfer essentially enabled us to provide a clean break from the past, and create a fresh new beginning.  The official website is the only relevant item not within our control.   Although there remains a trust fund reconciliation issues you (the community) have all of the info we have on it, we are working with what we have access to, of course we will report any material change upon occurrence.   If you look around you will notice some small but relevant changes including by not limited to: pg 1 of EMC2 ANN page, and delisting of 2 non performing exchanges from www.coinmarketcap.com.

In an effort to safeguard EMC2, particularly at this extremely sensitive time of redevelopment we created The Guardians program (see earlier post for more details), this program is a vehicle for those who want to sell large amounts of EMC2 safely, quickly, and privately without negatively impacting any of the public markets.

Mining is a major fundamental component of every coin, we recognize that and have added a new mining pool.

doing
One of the hardest things to do in a voluntary relationship is to get along.  Our team is multinational as well as transcontinental, we regard anonymity, and yet are of one mind with respect to the redevelopment of EMC2.

We spend lots of time reading messages, not just from one another but also from various forums and mail services -- we need volunteers to help triage messages.  Sometimes intriguing offers are presented, in those cases we look into them and discuss them.  Only after a comfortable degree of examination do we consider it for adoption; so far many presentations have risen to that level a couple were rejected, many were approved and now awaiting funding, and some others are in the finalization process.  We are constantly considering opportunities for EMC2.

When we did our analysis of 'EMC2 needs' vs 'available human resources', we determined that although our force could handle the coin's actual needs, we new the challenge would be in the 'wants' of the community.   We knew the community had grown accustomed to some communication luxuries that our human resources could no longer afford.   In addition to volunteers, we are looking into tools that would allow us to post a single message that would travel through multiple media simultaneously.

The EMC2 valuation report is the first tool to help protect the community against damaging pump and dump trickery.  On a weekly basis, or whenever PND red flags are recognized we will present to you our opinion as to what we believe EMC2 is worth and why.   Over time the report will be less frequent, we don't want to infringe on an honest and free open market.

We are actively compiling a list of contractors (developers and others) to assist in the building of EMC2 please help us add names to the list.

The Report To The Community is provided every 3 to 5 days, once the coin reaches specific level of stability it will be a weekly publication, at about 1000 sat it will likely become a monthly message.

will do
We are constantly cleaning up outdated info not just text info but also some of the graphics as well, this pertains to all of the mediums that voice the EMC2 message within our control.

A EMC2 Budget will be created, most of the line items are already in place however since the income side of the equation is so uncertain the expense side is difficult to calculate.  We believe that as projects are funded revenue will become more stable and reliable.  We are also considering non-taxing revenue streams.  For example we will create a store that will allow for the safe purchase of goods and service with EMC2, we will also have an escrow service that will allow for the movement of EMC2.

We believe EMC2 is spread too thin across the public markets rendering it vulnerable, in that light we are trying to communicate with AllCoin, and Atomic Trade exchanges to have EMC2 delisted only at their exchanges.

There will be many times in which we will present the community with voting opportunities, as such we are designing voting protocols and procedures so that when those times arrive we will be ready.

We are experiencing some technical difficulties at the finalizing stage for the first of a few multi-sig wallets for funds disbursement by mgmt.

We are reaching out to Poloniex about our sponsorship of a EMC2 giveaway, we believe this is a healthy marketing tool for EMC2.

We want to provide ongoing outreach to schools for project and sponsorship opportunities, we need volunteers to maximize the effort.

The voter approved POS conversion initiative will be implementation as soon as funds are responsibly budgeted for the effort.   There are a number of other code changes that will occur at that time as well, like reducing the number of confirmation needed to clear wallet funds.

wishlist
Our wishlist highlights items that will make our jobs easier ie:  comprehensive blockchain explorer, and paper wallet generator, of course our greatest wish is for volunteers.
1647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / The Guardians on: September 08, 2014, 12:19:58 AM
The Guardians [name subject to change] is a group of EMC2 holders who are committed to the structural integrity and financial viability of EMC2.

It is a private list of individual investors who can be called on to buy EMC2 at a moment's notice when large volumes of EMC2 are offered up privately for sale.   This system will serve to blunt the effects of malicious dumps that often result in panic sell-offs.

It will start rather open, but will eventually be prioritized based on dependable and ability:  track record of program performance, tenure of unused funds, amount of unused funds, community engagement (volunteer),  and response time, financial ability.

For example, someone has a personal emergency, needs cash but doesn't want to hurt EMC2 with the cash-out, they contact us, we view the avg rate on all three exchanges, provide a pro forma quote so that the seller knows exactly what to expect, if he agrees he sends coin to us in the increments requested.  In that same time we send a message via tweet to the Guardians informing them of the quantity of coin available at price certain.  The first affirmative responder will have the opportunity to buy the amount they indicated up to 2/3rd of the lot; the 2nd person will be able to buy the amount they indicated up to 50% of the balance, and the 3rd person will be able to do the same, any leftover will be offered to the next responder.

The whole transaction may take from 1 to 8 hours, depending on amount of funds involve and availability of escrow admins to facilitate the deal (we need 2 of 3 admins to sign for out going payments), from the time the seller agrees with the quoted rate.

This tool is likely to be rarely used, however it will serve as a financial security feature that checks unjustified negative downturns inspired by malicious intent.   In other words, if you see a big drop in price someone likely dumped EMC2 on the market to provoke a selling frenzy (panic sell) -- your response should simply be to just buy up the cheap coins and continue with the day.

This will start as a free service [tip address provided], whenever it changes to a fee service the fee will be lower than if it was transacted at Mintpal, Cryptsy, or Poloniex.

Please contact one of the admins if you want to be considered for one of the 9 remaining seats.

1648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | Funding the future with the future of currency on: September 07, 2014, 05:20:53 PM
In the last vote, we decided EMC2 will be changed to POS, I want to know now what is progress?
If you can not change the POS as soon as possible, so now the price is likely to be downward.

Afeizhai, thanks for your message and concern.

EMC2 is operating with new management, we are reviewing everything and budgeting accordingly.  Any major upgrades that have not been implemented are either paused (ie: POS conversion), or under review for functionality (ie: new wallet).

There are three ways POS will be implemented:
1) it is included into the budget,
2) a benefactor (such as yourself) provides the funding to pay for the project,
or
3) a developer performs the job free.

Our new budget has not yet begun to form,  when that takes place we will take a responsible look at when we can implement the POS conversion.

Given our week long tenure, our current priorities, and the absence of a budget, the POS conversion will not occur anytime soon.

If a developer is willing to do the job free, they could start immediately.
If a benefactor is willing to fund the project we will create a job listing to find a contractor for the job, once we have a suitable candidate s/he will start immediately after contract.

EMC2 will need at least 10 BTC for start. Believe me, it is very hard (nearly impossible) to find coders which will support it for free (or for EMC2 coins).

Your pricing is way off base, I have a short list of developers who will create a whole new coin for a fraction of what you have quoted.

With 500+ coins on the market today, developers are beginning to auction off their services, especially when it involves a coin they have no respect for.   There are a number of different classes of coins forming as Oldminer alluded to in the EMC2 market value analysis above with his comparative statement.   All coins are not the same, and developers are pricing their services accordingly.

When a coin gets to the point of being universally regarded support comes in many different ways and directions.   EMC2 is a good coin, with a tortured past that brought us to this point.  The new admin is 5 days old, we are committed to buffing out the tarnish to restore the luster we know is there.

EMC2 experienced its first jaring "pricing adjustment" since the mgmt change.   I don't know why it occurred, but I do know that it started at Cryptsy and reverberated to other exchanges.  We are taking steps to mitigate the harsh effects of larger volume sell-offs.

1650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Celebration Report To The EMC2 Community on: September 06, 2014, 01:16:04 AM
Report To The EMC2 Community

Celebration
We reached our first goal: 50 sat across the board (Cryptsy, Mintpal, and Poloniex).   This is important for a number of reasons, it indicates a 100% increase from the point of "EMC2's rebirth" (quote from Lovethecoins), more importantly we see it as a testament of confidence the community has in this administration -- thanks.

Investment
Well it seems yesterday's 'EMC2 market rest' facilitated today's massive surge.

Mintpal was the first to break 40 sat, but it was Poloniex that outperformed with trades that broke 100 sat.   It all started with a single move: EMC2 was at 31 one second, then at 101 the next -- pure insanity.  It wasn't a fluke, oops, isolated trade, there were many 3 digit trades.   As if to make sure this was reality, I gathered up some of my recently purchased 35 sat coin and listed it for sale at 104 sat, to my surprise it was gone 'in abouta hour' -- at that very same time EMC2 sold at Cryptsy for 33 sat.

Question: if EMC2 SOLD for: 55 sat at Mintpal,  102 sat at Poloniex, and 42 sat at Cryptsy all in the very same hour, how much was EMC2 truly worth at that time?

The overall average for the day was a whopping 70 sat, with a volume of just over 5 BTC.

But WAIT, all of that was by 5pm EST, since then Cryptsy went bonkers reaching a high of 149.

Valuation
We believe a well informed investor is the best hope for our EMC2 community, we also believe that pump and dump schemes are plaguing the CC industry destroying many good coins and financially damaging many CC investors.   In that light we are taking a proactive stance to provide information we believe will provide a safer investment climate for the community.

Periodically, we will provide a brief assessment of what we individually feel EMC2 is worth at the time of the report.    Our opinion could be based on many things or nothing at all (gut) but we offer it with true sincerity and care.

The question is: "What is EMC2 worth today?":

Oldminer said: "I think EMC2 is currently way under-valued & oversold, so I'll go with a current value figure of 250 satoshis ... @ 35 satoshis (or even 90 satoshis) it is well under-valued & oversold, in my opinion. The current bottom line price for EMC2 should be 250sat, when compared to other alts in the market. Take for example, Casinocoin @ 258sat, Emeraldcoin @ 965(!), Argentum @ 610, & even Luckycoin @ 305sat. Even if we set a base valuation of 250sat for EMC2, its still worth less (in some cases 50%-75% less) than all the junkcoins I referenced above."

Djnocide said:  "I think emc2 should be between 45 and 55 satochi. Why? we brought back stability to the community, things are starting to move forward but it can't be valued much more by the simple fact that nothing really big happened to the coin, yes we brought stability but we don't have a new wallet, algo, we have no articles, no promo, no candidates for the vote.  So until one of those is done, the price shouldn't be much higher than that."

Armis said:   "I'm comfortable with a 35 sat figure because it enabled us to move from our mournful state to a state of rehabilitation with some regard for our immediate past experience.    I too feel EMC2 is undervalued, because of its potential, and especially when compared to other coins, but I also feel it isn't "ready" for 50 sat today because anything higher casts the cautious skepticism away that I believe is necessary at this stage of our redevelopment.   35 sat to 149 sat in the span of 24 hours, in light of all we went thought for the past 6 months should give us pause."

Projects & Bounties
It's said 'money isn't everything' and also said 'money makes the world go around' -- well we have some EMC2 money to spread around the world.  Please tell us where you want to see YOUR tax money go.

If you have a contest idea that's fair let us know, if you know of a science channel on youtube that wants EMC2 sponsorship let us know, if you know of a science teacher, professor, or professional that wants to partner with us to do something special in the field of science let us know.

Volunteers Needed
We need writers, social media experts, researchers, outreach pros, and video producers.   If you decide to do unsolicited projects of any kind please post what you have done together with your EMC2 wallet address, we will be randomly selecting individuals for small remunerations.
1651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / We Need Volunteers on: September 05, 2014, 07:04:30 PM
Are we still using #emc2 for the "official" IRC channel, or is there another that should be used?

In an effort to maximize our limited resources and to provide the most bang for our efforts, Bitcointalk is EMC2's official news and info medium.

Although we appreciate what Reddit, Twitter, IRC, Facebook, and all other ancillary outreach mediums can do, we're equally cognizant of our energy limits.

The solution is volunteers, the more volunteers we have the further we can extend the EMC2 message, the faster we can accomplish EMC2 goals, and the stronger EMC2 will be.

We need volunteers, please volunteer to 'man' the IRC channel, or volunteer 4 hours a week.  We need help, please tell us how you want to volunteer your time.

1652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Report To The EMC2 Community on: September 05, 2014, 03:21:52 AM
Report To The EMC2 Community

Priorities
Our new leadership team will focus our efforts on three priorities:

1)  Market value of EMC2,
2)  EMC2 projects,
and
3)  EMC2 brand awareness,

it is on the performance record of those three priorities that we will know if we are performing well.

Although the milestones are yet to be etched, given the circumstances of our redevelopment I think there will be cause for celebration when EMC2 market value across the board reaches 50 sat, 100 sat, 200 sat, 500 sat, and 1000 sat; likewise I believe special celebration should be had when we issue our first grant, paid out 100K EMC2 in awards, and 1M EMC2 in awards; lastly, when we see EMC2 signage at a science fair, or sponsor a science channel on youtube, hear our CC mentioned on 'Science Friday', or is a recognized form of payment at Science Olympiads we will celebrate and know we are performing well.

Investment
For the first time, the EMC2 markets took a rest from its rather fast and steep upward climb it settled in between 34 an 35 sat.

Cryptsy had the lowest overall prices throughout the day, almost 10 - 15% lower than the prices at Mintpal; however most of the trades were very small (hundreds to thousands), where as Mintpal had higher prices that went along with higher numbers (ten-thousands to hundred thousands).   Poloniex was uniquely interesting they had the highest high price (42 sat), and the lowest low price (31 sat @ almost 100K EMC2 -- right place right time), most of the meaty trades were at about 35 sat.   The overall EMC2 market avg was 34 sat, Cryptsy and Poloniex had the low numbers, Mintpal had the higher numbers; so as it stands right now if you want to buy cheap and save on fees go to poloniex, if you want to buy wholesale at higher prices go to Mintpal.

Remember this is a sensitive time in EMC2's redevelopment, study the market before you jump in.   Our EMC2 valuation opinion is scheuled to be incorportated in this report soon, we include it to help discourage pump and dump trading schemes.

Projects & Bounties
Folks we have money to give away, most of the funds are for projects but some is for brand awareness, and bounties.

If you have a contest idea that's fair let us know, if you know of a science channel on youtube that wants EMC2 sponsorship let us know, if you know of a science teacher, professor, or professional that wants to partner with us to do something special in the field of science let us know.

Volunteers Needed
We need writers, social media experts, outreach pros to contact schools, in-house outreach rep, researchers, focus group members, graphic artists, video producers, and many more.

Also, if you decide to do unsolicited projects of any kind please post what you have done together with your EMC2 wallet address, we will be randomly selecting individuals for small remuneration payments.

Good job Armis!!! Community could defiantly use some activity on twitter pretty quite over there Smiley

On behalf of the full team (oldminer, djnocide, and myself) thanks for the encouragement -- you know this isn't a one-person operation by any stretch.

Now let's turn the accolades in your direction, I know what you can do, you're an inspiring force that is needed on our marketing team.

As for twitter, facebook, and all other social media outreach, with you on the team you'll have the green-light and license to burn-up the track.

Our team needs people like you heading up segments of the EMC2 org, people who are both: committed community leaders, and productive self-starters who are able to design and implements strategic plans for massive success.

Please let me know the extent you want to be involved.

Report To The EMC2 Community

Change
About the EMC2 trust funds:

our purported balance is ~ 2096895 emc2 we see this on one computer, however on a different computer the same wallet details a different balance ~ 1844675 emc2, here is the data, you are invited to help us reconcile the balance:

The data: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_VOqFbZUziON3dUTWo0dE91QXM&usp=drive_web
http://chain.einsteinium.org/tx/3d47c9aa7cc7e3ef12f5885cd91574d2ee6e7cb491a3cbcf44f15a322f397302

We sent 12.3456789 emc2 from the trust fund to the trust fund, as a control and to time stamp our official control of the fund see transaction here: http://chain.einsteinium.org/tx/7962850c736e73387477053a04ab3b4b8e62d5fd5e31e36f4fc88d580f798e2f, however we are not able to provide a targeted description.  We want to be able to identify specific payments; at various times we will use the block chain to perform internal audits and or to document specific EMC2 history.

We are working on the multisig function once that is in place we send the full balance of the fund from the fund to the fund to document the fund balance at that point in time.

Investment
We are experiencing a second day of higher trading volumes, however today's prices have increased 30% on average.   I see today's gains as permanent, meaning it is highly unlikely to see EMC2 in the 20's again.  With that said, please exercise extreme caution at this sensitive time.   We are working on our EMC2 valuation protocol, this will enable us to share our opinion regarding the market value for the coin; this tool will help to discourage pump and dump trading schemes.

Projects
The EMC2 trust fund audit is complete, now we need worth individuals to give it to.   Tell us about a school that is doing something good for science, here's a science trivia fact -- The Bronx High School Of Science (a New York City public school) has produced more Nobel prize winners than any other high school, public or private, in the world.   It would be great if each one of the  specialized science schools had an EMC2 CC club, right?

Volunteers
We need YOU.

Nice to see this coin seemingly starting to head in the right direction.  Sadly I had to dump my small holding of this coin a little while back but will be keeping an eye on it in the hopes that things turn around for you guys soon.  Best of luck.

Thanks for the love and luck.

Indeed, please keep that eye on us as we enter the first stage of redevelopment.

We will provide you with tons of opportunities to reenter the EMC2 market.

I'm happy with the reorganization and takeover, but let me try to help with insight/idea now.

The way I see it, we're still missing an important part for the team. A Dev. And apparently that's a very difficult spot to fill. So bouncing back on previous idea, should we consider becoming the baby child of another successful coin? I'm sure there's at least one of the big coins would be interested in having what emc2 stands for and its donation model under its belt. That would also at least ensure having one developer at least half dedicated to the coin.

Thanks for the encouragement.

I have talked to 4 coin developers, one of which owns some EMC2, essentially a coin is only as good as the community behind it.  Once the EMC2 community is responsibly reorganized WE will be the "big coin" you speak of.

This ship is slowly but surely turning around, you will see it in many ways, I invite you to volunteer to experience it close up.

Report To The EMC2 Community

Change
The management transition is almost complete, the EMC2 trust fund wallet had a few hiccups but we are sorting them out, our prelim audit found a sizable discrepancies that was aged back to May, we will report our full findings shortly.  90% of the social networking credentials have been transferred, the official website is yet to be reconciled.

Investment
It is clear that the EMC2 investors are gearing-up for increased values, this is evidenced by the higher volume trading at the lower prices.  The number of transactions are low but the number of coins per transaction has increased dramatically.  As for the market value trend the overall average has remained the same: Poloniex still had some artificial highs but came down to earth, Mintpal values increased, and Cryptsy's values increased.  So today's overall market value was ~26 sat.   Please exercise extreme caution at this sensitive time, once the transition is finalized values are expected to increase dramatically.   An ongoing part of this report will be an EMC2 valuation -- our opinion as to the current market value of EMC2.   We provide will be providing the valuation to help discourage pump and dump trading schemes.

Projects
We are now accepting EMC2 grant nominations, once the EMC2 trust fund audit is complete we will begin issuing grants.   Do you know a science teacher, are you aware of any science fairs scheduled for this month, please let us know.   Do you know of any merchants that sell science goodies, put us in contact with them.  We want award recipients to have a place to redeem their grant for science stuff.

Volunteers
We need volunteers: we have lots of social networking things to do, lots of writing to do, lots of people to contact, lots of research to do, and lots of things to read -- please give us a hand ... an ear ... couple eyes ... and/or  some of your hours, it will be much appreciated.

Great to see that things seem to be moving again for the better.  I wish I had more time to help out, but right now I don't.  Keep up the good work!

Thanks for your words of encouragement.

Please ask a science teacher to keep you informed as to when the next science fair will occur.

1656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / 1st Report To The EMC2 Community on: September 02, 2014, 03:50:14 AM
Report To The EMC2 Community

This is the first of many regular reports to the EMC2 community, during management transition the reports will be brief, upon transition finalization reports will be comprehensive, and provided weekly.

Change
Positive change is coming to EMC2.   So far we received 4 of the 6 EMC2 management credentials requested of the previous admin.  I'm told we are in control of the EMC2 trust fund, as of moments ago, however we have run any controls as of yet, the public key is: EknqTC9XEuucZEhD3miDGnbJxBptcxhByA  I'm told the unaudited account balance is: 2087750 emc2.   Controls will be run in the coming days, and an audit is currently underway.   The automatic EMC2 block chain explorer tool did not provide the info we need so we must dig deeper for the information we need to do a proper analysis.   We hope to report findings in 4 days.

Investment
Overall, the financial markets responded positively to the news of Mr. Wright's resignation, the coin's value shot up 100% on average, Poloniex experiencing top gains of ~160%, followed by Mintpal ~100%.   The Cryptsy market was essential unaffected.   Volume was expectantly brisk.  In short values went from 20 sat to 60 sat.   I suspect the market to be extremely volatile during the transition period, please exercise extreme caution during this time.    Once the transition is finalized values are expected to increase dramatically.    A critical part of each report to the EMC2 community will be an EMC2 market value analysis and assessment, the board will give an opinion on what it believes EMC2 is worth.  This valuation will be provided to defuse pump and dump trading that continue to plague cryptocurrency investors time and time again.

Projects
We have reactivated the award program, we are now accepting nominations, I would like to encourage you to focus special attention to grade school science fair projects.

Volunteers
We have very many things to do, please volunteers you time.
1657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | Funding the future with the future of currency on: August 31, 2014, 03:47:23 AM
The developer stopped responding to me and I am at a loss. Since I am not a developer and cannot fund one, I am willing to donate 100% of my personal holdings to a new team / developer for the coin. That's 2 million EMC2 to whichever group is capable it doing something with the coin. Anything I can do to help, I will be around to give the information necessary.

Otherwise, I know a dev who will take 1 million emc2 to create a new webkit wallet for the coin which would then work alongside a new website which hosted crowd funded projects.

Honestly, I've invested a lot of time and money into the coin and have reached a point of depression when it comes to trying to fix the sinking ship. If I had time to work on the coin exclusively, I could piece together a solid team and bust my ass around the clock. I'm just not in the financial position to keep spending money on something without getting results.

I can step aside, resign, hand over a few million coins. Or I can get the webkit wallet out and start deving the new site. Either way, I'd love to see a new community effort and people stepping forward to make things happen for Einsteinium.

The last few attempts to bring back the coin have hurt my pockets and my reputation, as well as the coins value. Because of my failure, I leave my role and fate in EMC2 with you guys. You are the deepest supporters. Let me help do whatever I can to make this all work out.

Armis, djnocide, and Oldminer collectively represent the new leadership of the EMC2 community, on behalf of the community we accept Ryan Wright's resignation from duty effective immediately; relief of his fiduciary responsibilities will become effective upon the proper transfer of all trust funds, trust keys, social media codes, EMC2 management records, and all other info relevant to the maintenance, management, and/or control of matters pertaining to EMC2.   To begin that process kindly post in this forum the public key(s) for the wallet(s) in possession of EMC2 trust funds.

The community will be kept abreast of transition development a daily basis.

Thanks mstrongbow, but as it turns out one of my former associates (he did the gold pieces) decided to do the job.  I posted it on oDesk, got about 20 responses, he wasn't the lowest bid but I value loyalty greatly he got the job, I trust he will do a great job.

I'm still looking for someone to print 2 or 3 game sets; your rates appear reasonable so I'll request a bid from you when the file is finished.

1660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking For Truly Knowledgeable Individuals For CC Article Interview on: July 17, 2014, 06:14:21 PM
A reporter is doing a story on the proliferation of  alternate crypto-currencies, and the future of alts in general, if you are interested in being interviewed on the record (real name and phone interview) let me know immediately so that I could pass your info to him.

You must be seriously into alternate CC (min 10 hrs a week engagement), this would be an excellent opportunity for community leaders to speak intelligently about their respective coins, and CC industry in general.

A reporter for which publication?
Some blog writers have been known to call themselves journalists.  Cool

Associated Press (AP)

can't get more legit than that, especially on the worldwide stage

Being a stringer for AP myself, I've never heard of AP reporters outsourcing interview subjects or sources to a third party.
So pinch of salt and all that.

your profound skepticism is noted, please also note that skepticism without cause is needless disruption

You could've ended with the first part of the sentence, and I would've had no reason to post again.
Instead, you chose to end it with a throwaway insult.
Of course there is reason to be skeptical here, of all places! Only a fool would think otherwise. This is Bitcointalk.
You seriously expect no skepticism by leading us to believe that you are an intermediary for an AP reporter?
An AP reporter that lacks the basic ability to find a proper and reputable source from the cryptosphere?
Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds to me? And you dare call my light questioning disruption?
If said person exists, let's hope his/her editor never come across this thread.

I could have ended it any way I wished, and you to could have not started the misplaced prejudice to begin with.

Your skepticism wasn't to advance knowledge but rather to test integrity, your line of questioning was an attack based on preconceived notions (as indicated above).

As for "cause" foolish reasoning isn't cause, cause should be rational, reasonable, and responsible all of which were absent from your causal argument.

The simple fact is your prejudice was unjustified, and your reasoning is for attempting to cause unjustified alarm was irresponsible.

As for anyone seeing this thread, it's a public thread created in a public forum for public consumption, it supposed to be seen.

Yes, you certainly could have ended it in any fashion - and you chose the worse possible way to do so.

My original question was met with a silly boast, so my skepticism was/is entirely within reason. Even Gavin Andresen and Charles Lee would jump at an opportunity to speak with an AP reporter, yet here you are claiming to be the intermediary of one.

My subsequent, entirely justified response, was met with an overblown verbosity meant to impress. Alas, it fails the basic test of comprehension and context (do you even know what causal argument means?).

Apparently you failed to understand the last line of my post, so let me simplify it: if your imaginary AP reporter exists, his/her career prospects would be greatly diminished if his/her editor stumbled upon this juvenile method of research.

Of course, you can greatly embarrass me by producing said AP feature article when it is published - but we both know that's not going to happen.

Again, you apparently bring a host of prejudices to the table, you not only see and hear what you want, you apparently process the info with narrow reasoning.

You started off on the wrong foot then place the other in your mouth, if that wasn't bad enough you proceeded to slip on your own silly notions and false assumptions causing you to fall flat on your face; instead of getting up to walking away in shame, you choose to dig in with more of the same.

Obviously you're an over zealous unbeliever that is clearly focused on being irresponsibly disruptive and unproductive.

That means when this is all said and done, you will not only see that you were wrong from the very beginning and every step of the way to the very end, but that there was no reason to be so wrong.

Let me explain the socioeconomic effect of what you are experiencing right now.

"Bitcointalk" is the center of many vectors and forces at the moment; the explosion of crypto currency has lead to a large education gap, which some exploit with cheap scams.

that's the darker side, the better side if we want to be positive is, the expanding infrastructure and general education.

there are many example; governments are quickly becoming aware that some sort of decentralized monetary system is very likely, they are of course (as always) torn between their citizens and their owners (generally banking corporations).

all that is very much a sideline however as the "citizens" (sisters) are to quote the song "doing it for themselves", as far as creating micro businesses and infrastructure little by little.

whats the future?

centralized monetary systems will stagnate and become more "extreme" (humorous and ridiculous) which will in turn drive more citizen toward alternatives.

if you want an example - a good one is "Stagflation"

Stagflation

is the best fried of crypto currency, the effect of higher "cost of living" which in turn squeezes both wages and profits for SME (small and medium Enterprise )

this can also be called the "misery factor" - because the "stag" part of Stagflation also means "financial monetary experts" think there is "deflation" so generally move monetary policy that way.

all this drives SME to seek alternatives, and it will only take a few segments of the infrastructure to pay unhappy miserable staff in ratio say 30:70  30 a basket of crypto and 70 paper, and soon the market will figure out that the 30% is driving the business so that becomes 50:50 then probably 70:30 etc.

and basically fiat Debt paper will kind of be forgotten as the joke it is and will be remembered as "that joke we got punked with for about 100 years".

cool story hey?  i might get a job with AP !

: D

hahaha ... cool, but don't quit your day[trading] job

The part of your quote I highlighted in red I subscribe to with emphasis; I would also add that the CC industry need a lot more security on all levels, even woven into the blockchain.
