I tried to transfer xcp from blockchain address to counterwallet. I take private key from the blockchain BTC wallet under the option " Export unencrypted". When I imported the private key to counterwallet, it shows "Not a valid private key". Anyone know how to solve this problem? Many thank.
Try this.... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=395761.msg6145226#msg6145226

#4 and #5 have arrived in the UK. Both look perfect. Thanks Nightowlace, 999Fine and BlazedOut. Real nice coins. Will get some non serial numbers very soon.
Ditto #97 & #98, and they really are nice in the hand, and to look at. Thanks

1647  Economy / Securities / Re: Neo & Bee talk (spam free thread) on: April 08, 2014, 01:20:50 PM
@stereotype, assuming you're addressing me:  Because COG wasn't quite as pompous and pretentious as NeoBee, that is to say not quite as lulzy.  NeoBee is a veritable cornucopia of material, this horn of plenty never fails to vomit up new material.  This Cyprus Bitcoin bank is backed by comedy gold Cool

@DannyLMB:  Say that to my face, mofo! Cheesy
Without doubt, NeoBee is going to be your favorite play thing in the coming months, but we are about to witness good ole fashioned theft over on the COG thread. Not your thing?
1648  Economy / Securities / Re: Neo & Bee talk (spam free thread) on: April 08, 2014, 12:59:20 PM
@crumbs

Seeing as your running out material, just curious why you haven't moved over to the COG thread?

So i have a trade (selling XCP) that i cant seem to cancel. This trade didnt get fees attached, so now its just stuck?? Can i say that the order book/s(?) are confusing, also. Not a good experience for me unfortunately.

Cancelling in for orders with at least one confirmation, and with zero fees, it takes a long time to get that.
Sorry, i have no idea what you are trying to tell me.
I just wanted to sell a few XCP and im now in a process that i have no control over, and with no idea how to advance a simple order after 12+ hours.  Huh

There may be a small bug in Counterwallet. I'll look into it. (Your money's safe.)

I reported a bug with making orders with user defined assets:

https://forums.counterparty.co/index.php/topic,188.msg1753.html#msg1753

Miner fees don't get attached
Yep. Just found similar, i think...... https://forums.counterparty.co/index.php?topic=188.msg1781#msg1781

Thanks

1652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: April 06, 2014, 12:04:34 PM
It's really not that hard to secure your NXT account, even with the current setup.

1) Open your text editor, close your eyes, and randomly strike keys. Make sure you use a combination of upper and lower case, numbers and special characters. You  must have a minimum of 30 characters. Personally I just kept going until the end of a single line on my text editor's window.

2) Save this file buried somewhere on your filesystem. Obviously do not name it "mynnxtpassword.txt" and save it in My Documents. You can call it something like "en-us" or "random_program_serial". Remove the txt extension so it appears as an unknown file.

3) Your NXT password should be this string PLUS a simple password (such as one you commonly use) that you type in either before or after pasting in the string.

By following these simple steps, the only possible way someone would get into your account would be if you had malware on your computer that was able to read the clipboard AND your keystrokes. Extremely unlikely. If you are truly paranoid, you can use a virtual keyboard instead of typing in one part of your password.

For extra security, NXT should be installed on a Linux Virtual Machine as opposed to your main system.

How about finger print and facial recognition !
Could a keylogger know what characters are deleted and where they were in a password?
If not, generate random characters by whatever means, and then add say, 6 or more characters somewhere within the generated text, that you remember. Save it as above. So if the raw file is compromised, its not correct anyway. And by deleting the remembered characters when using the string, even if a keylogger is operating, it wont know where the characters were deleted from.

Ive missed something haven't i??

I knew I should have sold my shares when one of the employees told me the CEO bought a brand new Bently...it just rang alarm bells he would spend so much on a car only a few weeks into opening.

Damn....
Weren't they supposed to buy a bank as well?
1654  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on[Havelock] on: April 04, 2014, 11:06:59 AM
So......COG isn't being liquidated for the moment, but we still have a lot to clean up. We'll need to sort out a financial report detailing all COG's assets, outstanding CT units that have yet to arrive, as well as a new datacenter that is viable on costs.

We should create a board, and start to move forward on this issue. Other things to be considered are that the reserve fund and equipment purchases need to be managed better. With decent div's and better reinvestment, we'll be able to move forward.
Sigh. Just cant help some people. Cry

Meh, not worth selling shares atm, and not cleaning up the mess is just idiotic. Make it work or wrap it up.
I hear you, and i would bet thats the kind of discussion Goat and Garr had back in the hotel some weeks ago, but all past and recent performances surely point to the latter option by now. The necessary clean up is solely down to how much 'character' Garr possesses, or is prepared to give, going forward.

Ok bitcoin, I will go in the garden now to plant various bushes and I want you to stay exactly where you are while I am away, ok?
Don't move!

Ok, i admit, i might have uttered those very words to myself.  Embarrassed

Paper is pretty solid, and rather tangible I must say. I have a piece in my hand right now.

Money doesn't exist on the paper, it's a promise or an IOU, in contrast the amounts represented in the blockchain and assigned to various wallets ARE BTC. So the paper is tangible, but how real is the promise?
Ive heard about that weird paper money stuff....

information request
I saw somebody mention that there was a fault in KGW (Kimoto's Gravity Well) that allowed it to either be exploited or rendered it not fit for purpose, does anybody have more details? The new long term stable client is almost ready, but I don't want to push it out with a fault!

Dont know details myself, but its being discussed here.... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=552895.40
