1661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Primecoin GPU miner orders on: April 04, 2014, 03:12:30 PM
I PM'ed the hardware ID and what card I'm going to run it.
1662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Primecoin GPU miner orders on: April 04, 2014, 02:48:04 PM
XPM payment sent.
1663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RIC] Riecoin, new prime numbers POW coin, CLIENT UPDATE v0.8.7 AVAILABLE on: April 04, 2014, 02:31:07 PM
Since there's a gpu miner for XPM now, it would be conceivable that RIC is new for a gpu miner.
1664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Primecoin GPU miner reservations on: April 04, 2014, 02:10:49 PM
Reserve me one license, I just got done trading for 65 XPM.

Do we get the miner and the license via link in PM, once the payment go through fine?

1666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Official] Cryptsy News and Info thread *moderated* on: April 04, 2014, 01:31:07 PM
Is anyone else having problems getting on to cryptsy, haven't been able to get the page to load at home for 24 hours, no problem getting it to load from the office though? almost like my home ip address is blocked? any ideas?
Thanks

What browser do you run? Some times Firefox and Chrome can have issues with Cryptsy, I personally like Firefox. Try IE.

But is does sound like you need to flush you dns cache and clear the cache on your browser?
1667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: With Scrypt mining gone, what is the next big altcoin for gpu mining? on: April 04, 2014, 01:23:13 PM
The reason I put forth harsh words is because this ASIC FUD is relentless and baseless at the same time (for now, we'll see if KNC delivers).  Can people point to spikes in overall scrypt hash to back up any of this?

Disclosure:  I don't own any gridseeds, just an R270x and two R280x's, performing marginally well @ 1.8 Mhs scrypt

FUD is always going to exist, regardless. Facts are always needed to stop FUD.

Spikes haven't happen yet, but have to wait till this big ASIC's come out. A lot of people do forget that Scrypt coins out number SHA256 coins by a large margin and there still a large abundance of Scrypt coins to mine with ASIC.

I only have a 7970, 7850 2GB, 6970, 6950, 6950 2GB and 2x 5870, about 3.2 mhs for Scrypt. I too don't own a single Gridseed or any form of ASIC Scrypt miner at the moment.
1668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Primecoin GPU miner reservations on: April 04, 2014, 01:04:24 PM
I'm waiting to trade some BTC for XPM. I'll let you know when I have the XPM to buy one license.
1669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Primecoin GPU miner: 1.2 chains (6.7 XPMs) / day on: April 04, 2014, 12:56:42 PM
there seems to be a bug with the mining time i noticed it was jumping around the place going backwards then back upto where it should be at, which seems to throw the time from 215 down to sub 200 and also throw out the ch/day.
It'll be fixed in the new version.

What's the recommended cpu for the miner? I only have one AMD Phenom II x4 810 (Unlocked cache), AMD Phenom 9550, 2x Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300, Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 and Intel Core i5 750.

From what I'm seeing is that the miner has two parts.
1670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What PSU for (4) Gigabyte R9 280x Rev2 Gpu's? on: April 04, 2014, 09:09:37 AM
You should be ok with that Corsair AX1200i. Each card use about 250 watts, unless you have it super OC'ed. If OC'ed, then a 1400 to 1500 watts PSU would be needed or a secound PSU to cover the overhead.

Are you working on getting this on an exchange market? Maybe Poloniex or Mintpal, then Cryptsy later on?

What's with the DNA validation for the store? Sounds a little too much there. I feel like I'm either applying for a top secret government job or being a subject for a lab experiment or STD testing . LOL
1673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AMD HBM technology, is it going to help keep GPU's relevant in Scrypt Mining? on: April 04, 2014, 06:11:50 AM
Nope. ASICs are still going to dominate.

Obviously, ASIC's are design to be single application efficient. GPU's primary intent is to game, graphic content creation(ie Photoshop, Premiere, etc.), 3D modeling and play HD content.

Oh right, and that's why no one bothered to mine with GPUs, ever.  And any technology that would further improve on existing GPU tech would certainly have absolutely no impact on mining as it exists today.  Or...monkeys might fly out my butt.

This is AMD attempt to make GPU mining viable I guess. I know Nvidia is working on something similar. Just wait and see approach.

Monkeys flying out of buttholes sounds cool...LMFAO!!!...Bruce Almighty-ish....LOL
1674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you want to see most in a new altcoin on: April 04, 2014, 06:04:44 AM
A good launch, transparency of all the workings of the currency, energy efficient algo and security.

So, AMD is going to bring out HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) technology? In theory it sounds great, but you know how theory isn't event close to actual results in most cases.

1677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cgminer and MSI GPU overheat on: April 04, 2014, 05:24:22 AM
Is it an open setup or is it in an enclosure?

I have an MSI Twin FROZR III HD 7970 OC BE, I had to buy a Arctic Cooler Accelero 7970 for it to cool it decent to be inside a ATX Case. Also, I had to make sure I was getting more negative pressure in airflow, as positive pressure tend to lock in heat more.

The best stock coolers are on the Sapphire Toxic and Tri-x/Trixx. They are worth their prices because of the superior cooler they run.
1678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Primecoin GPU miner reservations on: April 04, 2014, 05:19:53 AM
What's the current total of licenses sold and left?
1679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: With Scrypt mining gone, what is the next big altcoin for gpu mining? on: April 04, 2014, 05:17:05 AM
Primecoin

Nice to see a non-X11 bashing comment from you...lol

I like XPM.... Cool

You know there are GPU miner for XPM already right ?

Yup, 1440 licenses to be sold initially at 65 XPM each per GPU. But it's for only solo mining at the moment.
1680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [RIC] Riecoin status update! on: April 04, 2014, 05:02:50 AM
Hi! I have a new status update for Riecoin:

I've been very busy with my (other) job, but that will change next week. Also, I met many cool people that are insterested in the project, more news soon.

- RiecoinFoundation is officially open and has a very cool website http://riecoinfoundation.org/

And we have 2 new exchanges accepting Riecoin:
- http://ex.nintencoin.com/

- efforts for stratum optimized miner are still on their way, also for a xpt/stratum proxy that would allow xpt miners in RIC stratum servers
- difficulty is still close to it, but not breaking world records just yet.... we need just a little push...

Thanks and best regards to all!
gatra

Cool to finally see an update of RIC. Hopefully the foundation will help the coin support in general.
