I bet 2 BTC for the exact same service, only with the following message:

"Spekulatius was here, watch: 'Bitcoin -The Documentary-'"

Same payment method.

My address to pay you from: 17VFj1zUxaRPx4raxyQybpfRgxM3HLsuYB

Sorry Tuxavant, its a great idea Wink

P.S.: Ill also accept a message in block # 209999 (last block with 50 BTC reward), same conditions.

You know you don't really have to up the price right? The owner of 210000 block can sign as many message as he wants. You are kinda being a dick and ruining it for the rest of us who want to make the offer for 1 BTC or maybe even less.  Grin Grin

1665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WordPress.com accepts Bitcoins on: November 24, 2012, 11:30:59 PM

lol, wordpress needs marketing? it's only like 90% of the blogs online uses it? it's unlikely for a user to know bitcoin, but unaware of wordpress. Bitcoin is far less well known compared to wordpress.

Established brand names need marketing too. How do you think one stays on top. Here's an example. Why did Google leave China?

Google left China because the Chinese government hate it, and actively ban its services, not because of any marketing reasons.

Lol. Google refused to comply with the Chinese government. That refusal is marketing. You fell for it.

'If you want a free and open internet ...'

How do you think they get the American public to sign petitions that help google choose the rules?

Give up and pull out from the 2nd largest economy in the world, for marketing? That doesn't sound right.

It does if you know that the government plans to intervene to marginalize you anyways. You might as well make failure look like taking the high road.

Well then your point is invalid, you said they pulled out for "marketing", but now you are saying they pulled out because of the Chinese government, and marketing is just an after thought. Which seems to me you are agreeing with my original point that Google pulled out China because the Chinese government hate them and banned many of their products.

There's still google.com.hk though, with google.cn linking to it.

The underlying services are still banned, no google cache or sensitive keywords, your connection will get reset by GFW.

1669  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stability of bitcoin? on: November 22, 2012, 05:57:45 PM
remember that not accomplished expectations is the major risk event if the herd do believe that the price will rally and it don't rally there are big chances to go below that 2 USD low

The herd doesn't know about Bitcoin.
there is always a herd

If you mean people that bought at USD30, even they will be proven right.

Trust me, every person that bought at $30, has sold by now. No one could've held the investment all the way down to $2 and not have sold.
1670  Economy / Speculation / Re: what the heck triggered that spike? on: November 22, 2012, 04:30:29 PM
and there it was, boom!

what happened?

Someone bought ~36K BTC. In one big bite. (More than 420000 USD worth.)

For someone to buy 36k BTC, then that means some other people sold 36k BTC. The reason for price to rise is buyers out number sellers. A trade for 36k BTC doesn't mean anything, could happen in a crash too.
1671  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Difficulty decreasing? on: November 19, 2012, 03:42:13 PM
I can tell you right now that btc price will not double overnight, the decrease in inflation rate is tiny compared to 10m+ coins outstanding. On the other hand, it'll add up over time, and have an effect on price months later. Difficulty decrease is likely, due to all the people quitting due to being unprofitable. Eventually an equilibrium will be reached again.

1673  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stability of bitcoin? on: November 18, 2012, 05:38:28 AM
Positive news happens to be cancelled out by negative news. With multiple ponzi schemes exploding on
GLBSE, and then GLBSE itself exploded, I'm surprised the price didn't go down further. Anyway it seems
some kind of equilibrium happened, with positive news cancelling out the negative news, and we happen
to have a stable period now. Don't expect it to last forever though, a storm is coming.
1674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WordPress.com accepts Bitcoins on: November 17, 2012, 08:42:32 PM

Just read their press announcement. The bitcoin option isn't meant for users like you. This is for people who have trouble using CC and paypal. If it truly is cheaper they would be smart to offer a discount paying with that option. Like you said there are probably other issues like their contracts with the CC company though.

Sounds like it is mainly for marketing reasons then. Bitcoin, apparently, is hip.

1675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WordPress.com accepts Bitcoins on: November 17, 2012, 03:47:25 PM
I think this news is great! We need more big players accepting bitcoins to make bitcoin mainstream.
Hopefully this is the first big player of many to accept bitcoins - I can already see the exchange rate has gone up since this announcement!

I bet the next big deal will be wikipedia or reddit announcing acceptance of bitcoin.
1676  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Consensus-based society with provably-fair voting on: November 16, 2012, 02:44:40 PM
The regular people lacks the expertise and information to make an informed decision on majority of the government's operation, this is why we have to elect professional politicians to do it.
1677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time for a renewed push to get EFF to accept Bitcoins? on: November 16, 2012, 02:41:06 PM
I think the EFF is a pretty sharp bunch, are watching from the sidelines intently, and will accept Bitcoin when they decide the moment is right.

I agree, and appreciate all that the EFF has done for our society in defense of freedom. In not accepting Bitcoin, they're just trying to protect themselves so that they can continue doing great things. I truly think they have their (and those of whom they protect) best interests at heart.

However, I believe their fears are unfounded. On top of that, their actions have scared away others from accepting Bitcoin. If they had never accepted Bitcoin in the first place, and just said "maybe in the future" there wouldn't have been any problem, but the way they went about it almost certainly scared some potential big players away.

Protect themselves from what? Wordpress.com is a commercial company, their accounting is under more scrutiny, and apparently it saw no problem in accepting bitcoin. EFF is a non-profit and yet it's afraid to to accept bitcoin?
1678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WordPress.com accepts Bitcoins on: November 16, 2012, 01:54:58 AM
This is actually pretty big news, not "wikipedia accepts bitcoin" big, but big nonetheless.

Oh look, they agree on some issues, surely we are voting for the same thing now. Let's ignore their implementation difference, also ignore their disagreements on other issues, I tell you they are the same because only if they disagree on every single issue, then they can be called different.
