Let's get this off the table. It will never ever happen that I become some kind of project manager. Xtester is already head of the marketing team so no change necessary there. Your wish cam true - Boom ! We don't need any kind of project manager. Marketing used to be our weakness but now there is loads of stuff going on and we have a dedicated team in place. The rest has always been managed by the core devs. All decisions there are made by the core devs and no single person will approve anything since that would be utterly retarded in a decentralized movement and for the simple reason that they know it best. This is no different that how things went when UP was around. Please stop with this topic now as there is no way in hell it will ever happen. Ok, so the devs are leading the management of the project as well as developing and maintaining the system, is this what you are saying? Also, thought you would be a great project manager btw Well it's pretty much everyone shares opinions and in the end there is an agreement. This has made things on the orginizational side slow in the past but we'll try to settle any non technical problem within 2 days from now on (a rule that xtester brought up btw. ). Of course some things will always take longer as they depend on external factors. I'm confident that this structure will drive NEM forward faster than any single project lead ever could because the people that know it best make the decisions and not some moron that thinks he know's best  . |

What if 2 people claim to have lost the password to the same account ? How could we ever know who's lying ?
What stops people from claiming to have lost a password to a bunch of inactive accounts they never owned hoping to get lucky with 1?
An account being inactive for x time doesn't proove anyones ownership.
I have forwarded this to the rest of the team anyway to get their thoughts on it.

There should be a handout created for NEM targeted for people completely new to digital currencies. It should be brochure like, easy for anyone to print out. Make it as simple as possible, explain the idea of digital currencies as a whole and then what approach NEM is taking. People involved in the swarm team could print these off and post them locally on bulletins or hand them out by hand on streets, campuses, local events.
Going further, we could put a message inside some of the brochure offering free X amount of NEM (we could include what market value this would be in $) for anyone potentially interested in getting involved with the project. We could make the brochures unique by serial numbers and have them redeem them after creating an account on the Nem forums.
Does this seem like a realistic marketing idea?
No. Bitcoin itself is only used by a million people around the world. Getting people to use crypto currencies is an education campaign and a simple brochure (even with measly freebies attached - which I don't like) would have a very low effectiveness rate. I've seen the marketing strategies used by Litecoin and Dogecoin. Back in 2013 they were spamming on large internet forums like Bodybuilding but it wasn't an education campaign "why you should use cryptos" but more like "hear about dat Bitcoin chyieet? Well throw money at Litecoin and make $$$$" However unethical it was for LTC / Doge people to pass off their coin as a money flipping opportunity, I don't think anyone on their forum ever writes: "hey guys, remember in 2013 when you were passing off money flipping opportunities to random people on the internet?". That method they used was effective in the sense that Doge was able to hit $60 million and LTC is still the Prince to BTC and I was around (albeit not registered on BTT at the time) to see its' raise. Ironically it was those LTC money flipping threads on websites like Bodybuilding that made me lurk on Bitcointalk. People don't need handouts or brochures. People need simple and impossible to screw up mobile apps. Agreed. Make a stupid simple mobile app that feels low intensity and designed to be social instead of institutional and your value will increase organically because of the viral effect. If people go "what is this thing in the top 100" on the store and its stupid simple when they run it because they heard about it from a friend, it will happen naturally. You get it in the top 100 in the first place just by making it a social currency by using gamification or some other simple / fun app that ties in to the real block chain. Maybe it's currency for an MMO game on mobile or whatever. As long as your API is solid, people can tie in to it in a variety of ways with viral apps on mobile. If it isn't easy and it isn't mobile, you'll never hit critical mass. You could have a variety of different apps that do different things (maybe one is a game, maybe one is a "friends bar tab" app) but both use the real block chain underneath. The same dollar that buys bubblegum can also buy a Ferrari, and that is the point. The more uses it has the more value it has. The mobile app well definitely have to be developed in stages. At first the focus would probably be for sending NEM to other people as in the beginning there won't be merchants to accept NEM. After time that will hopefully change and that's when the app has to change to act as kind of a POS system or work together with such systems. More important - and harder - than just having an app is giving that app utility. I also don't see too much need for a mobile App before a couple of months after launch (yes I said it - after launch ) Of course this is only my opinion so might cause a heated discussion. |

I would kindly request you to send this over to the one who's in charge. I made an investment, which means that one of the unfilled stakes is mine. I've seen another thread which told that there were several stakes which weren't claimed. Very well i will take this to the board but I can tell you that the decision will not be any different. Taking you back would create a precedent and everyone that was removed would request to be taken back so for that reason alone there is no way in hell that is going to happen. I will ask all of them to post their opinion here. No stakes have been claimed yet so there can't be any unclaimed stakes yet. Whatever you have read it was either speculation about the future or utter bullshit. Like I said I'm sorry but you'll have to acceppt the refund. First of all your saying in sentence one that you will take it to the board and your last sentence you allready gave me an answer. How can this be? Taking me back? You should never have removed my comment, so I was never gone. I invested in your coin, with that money you guys could create this coin, Now your saying that an early investor is getting a refund? Yes, I am as this is something I can do as stakeholder but who lacks dev skills. I must confess the sign-up process was a nightmare, but I think people are aware of this anyway. For the record: - First activation email never received.
- Second activation received, but embedded link sent me to main forum page instead of activation page
- Confused from setp two I then tried to reset password, in case this was the problem, was told account existed but not activated
- Repeated activation, followed link in email, back to main forum, remembered that the reset password page had a final box for activation code
- Followed link to reset password and entered activation code, it failed
- Next link in activation email stated if having problems follow second link and enter activation code provided.
- Second link in activation email also dumped back at main forum page
- Finally copied the link text from the second link of the email and pasted into browser, this time I'm directed to a page with a single box for activation code
- Copied activation code from activation email and pasted into box in browser, voila I am activated and account enabled!
In conclusion I would suggest the embedded URLs are getting mangled in the email so when you click on them they are truncating and users are being directed to unintended locations KC I've forwarded it to the forum admin. Thx for providing feedback instead of being silently pissed of |

This will pay for the tx fee and act as bookkeeping.
2) Send pm to xtester with patmast3r in cc.
The pm needs to include the tx id for the 1 NXT payment. Don't pm us saying "I payed 1 NXT. Send my token". INCLUDE THE TX ID!

We'll issue tokens once a week. Current plan is to issue tokens every monday. Plz send your request at least 24h in advance otherwise you'll have to wait for the next monday to come along.

I would suggest that you check this in advance with the moderator in BTT to avoid any possible problems. (thread locking, account locking) I remember that (K)ora distribution thread was locket when users started to post their BTT id in it. Maybe it will be better to have such thread on the NEM forum it will bring more users there and maybe some of them will stay and join the movement and won't be just interested to dump their stake. Yeah, I already sent out a pm but I have a feeling it is going to be a problem. If the answer is as expected I guess we have to move to our forum. Interestingly I couldn't find a specific rule that forbids posting addresses or alike. It seems that it's about insubstantial posts. |
