1681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Brasileirão 2023 - Brazilian Championship Serie A on: January 04, 2023, 01:08:46 AM
Looking forward to the start of the Brasileirão, today I was reading some random news about this championship when I came across this:

"Players of the Brasileirão elect Casagrande as the worst commentator of 2022"
He got 25% disapproval from the athletes Tongue
And I thought that after "shut up galvão" no one could overcome him, I was wrong.

In any case, it's been a while since I've watched Rede Globo on TV, lately I've been turning to paid channels (pirated Cheesy ) or Youtube.

How do you intend to follow the championship in 2023?
1682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys bet on sports or casinos more? on: January 04, 2023, 01:00:47 AM
I'm curious as to what the ratio is for users on this forum in terms of sports vs casino betting.

I personally bet on sports 95% of the time because you can actually make money on it.

Slots and other casino games are a waste of time in my opinion.

I can't understand why people would waste their crypto on casinos where the odds and algorithms are stacked against you.

I also prefer sports games, they are more profitable or a way to lose money more slowly than gambling.

Sports games provide a smaller profit, but it is much easier to predict your result and consequently increase your earnings.
In games of chance, with a lot of discipline it is possible to limit losses and with a little luck to win money, but it is something much more complicated.

However, I respect those who prefer luck-based games of chance, as they are infinitely more fun, in addition to having a huge variety of styles and modes to play.
But, one must have the wisdom and self-control not to fall into temptation.
1683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 04, 2023, 12:56:12 AM
We don't know until when Ronaldo is playing before his retirement. He is going to be like one of the longest playing footballers together with Ibrahimovic I guess. If he doesn't retire until the age of 40 then maybe we might see him returning to Europe for playing for a short time period. Especially to play in the Champions League, he would be more convinced. But these are all just assumptions of course. For example some people have said that he would join Sporting but it hasn't happened.

I believe that Ronaldo only accepted this challenge because he received an offer that was too good (financially) to refuse.
He will have a life of luxury in Al Muhammadiyah, a neighborhood located in the center of Riyadh, but which functions as a kind of city, where wealthy foreigners live according to European rules. There, he will find the best schools for his children, in addition to a better quality of life, with less traffic jams and pollution.

But even so, Ronaldo will face a somewhat challenging scenario in Saudi Arabia, because despite Al-Nassr being the second club with the most titles in the Saudi Championship, this is nothing compared to what he had in Europe.
The stadium, for example, has a capacity for only 25,000 people, quite different from the more than 70,000 that Ronaldo was used to.

I believe that in a short time the spotlight towards Cristiano Ronaldo should be turned off, and he should quietly retire.
1684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Factors that contribute to form addictive gambling. on: January 03, 2023, 11:57:04 PM
What other factors do you know contribute to form addictive gambling?

Casinos, as well as malls, usually don't have windows, and the reason for this is obviously to make the player not so easily notice the time passing outside.

I believe that cryptocurrencies are one of the factors that has greatly contributed to the rise of gambling addiction.
  • First, because it is much easier to withdraw money from your wallet or exchange than from a bank, which usually has stricter withdrawal limits, especially at night.
  • Second, because many here have extra income in cryptos (subscription campaigns, for example) that help feed this addiction, because often the money for the month would not be enough to continue playing.

Obviously, cryptos have brought us many benefits in gambling as well, but we must be careful not to fall into temptation.
1685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: January 01, 2023, 10:57:32 PM
The difference is that we are not really interested in things taking 3 hours when it can be in 3 minutes. Sure amazing movies such as Lord of the Rings would have been awesome even this day, because it shows not just clear and understandable story telling, and won 11 oscars if I am not wrong, but also it was packed with amazing scenes back to back.

However, if you want to talk about some feelings for 3 hours, I am sorry but it is harder to get box office. Still not impossible, maybe after they get an Oscar they could get high box office, but do not expect beforehand. Now we have this invention called smart phones that show me more in 30 minutes than I can see in 100 hours of award movies.

So, those tiktoks and reels may not be good for us because we are older, but kids aged 20-22 and under grew up with them, and that is all they knew and that is why they have much much lower attention span, and we had less than our parents, soon we won't even have movies that are 3 hours long but 30 minutes long on digital platforms like netflix and disney.

You said very interesting... smartphones.

In the past people still left the house a lot to go to the movies, their intention was to spend an entire afternoon or evening away from home.
So, it's okay if they have to wait half an hour in line for popcorn, another half hour to get in and three hours of movies, because then they'll still spend a few more hours at some restaurant or bar with friends.

Nowadays people don't go out to see movies in theaters anymore (not like they used to), they prefer to watch 40 minutes of an episode of their favorite series, or 5 minutes of a youtuber's daily story, or 5 seconds of a funny video of a tiktoker.

The way we have fun in front of a screen has changed a lot and movies need to adapt to this new reality.
1686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers that don't understand basic gambling concepts. on: January 01, 2023, 10:51:03 PM
Do you have the same perception as me?

I think a lot of whiny threads of people telling how they ended up losing a lot more than they expected would be minimised if people understood these basic concepts. Although knowing the theory doesn't guarantee it 100% because we sometimes get carried away by emotions.

I am sure that some of those who think they understand these concepts but in reality do not will comment on this thread Grin.

Something I've noticed over the last couple of years is that the amount of people starting to play gambling has increased a lot.
These are people who, most of the time, had never made a bet before and found in casino advertisements a way to "make money" easily.

Techniques like Martingale give the player the false illusion that he will win forever, as defeats don't seem to exist, but it only appears later and when it seems to the player, it is brutal, taking all of the player's resources at once. turn.

Sooner or later, everyone ends up understanding that in the end, the house always wins, and anyone who wants to make a profit from it needs to know how to lose wisely, control their impulses and not want to win everything at once.

The media is speculating about Zidane

Zidane at Corinthians? Until a few days ago I swore that this was a very unlikely hiring, but then this week I read something even more absurd....

The CBF (Brazilian football confederation), which has been looking for a coach since the end of the World Cup, seems to be interested in hiring Zidane to lead the national team, and it just hasn't done that yet because Zidane dreams of coaching France and is first awaiting a response from them.

Zidane has been without coaching a team since 2021, so if it doesn't work out at CBF, he might join Corinthians to maybe get closer to Brazilians.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5432447.new#new

1689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: December 31, 2022, 01:41:13 AM
We shall discuss everything from qualification, preparation, and then the commencement of the actual Fifa world cup in 2026.  Smiley

Honestly, I thought this increase from 32 to 48 teams was very good, but making groups with only three participants, and ranking two in order to take two thirds of all teams to a direct elimination duel is insane, in my opinion.

Obviously this is not defined yet, but I would prefer to see 12 groups with four teams each, so that fewer teams qualify for the second phase.
And you, do you agree?

I also have another question.... how do you imagine that Argentina, current champions, will perform in the next World Cup without Lionel Messi and Ángel di María?
I think Argentina need to be concerned early on about how they are going to deal with this deficit in their attacking team.
1690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting strategy question on: December 31, 2022, 01:30:44 AM
1 - will you take that bet?
2 - if so, what % of your available funds would you put at stake (i.e. funds you're willing to gamble and afford to lose)?

Yes, I would accept it as long as the amount contributed is obviously within what I would expect to lose.

Usually I prefer to place bets where the winnings are smaller, I like to play more often, with less risk, losing my money more slowly and being able to enjoy the game for a longer time.
But, I confess that it ends up getting quite boring and boring after a while.
So, a riskier bet is always good to speed up our adrenaline and who knows, maybe provide us with a pleasant surprise.
The percentage varies, I usually play this type of game when I still have about 30% of the resources I usually allocate to games during the current month.

In sports games, which are my favorites, I tend to bet a high amount eventually in favor of a very unlikely outcome, which, if it comes to fruition, ends up paying a considerably higher amount.
They are similar scenarios, in different types of bets.
1691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling For Fun - What Does This Mean To You? on: December 31, 2022, 01:23:35 AM
So over to you now, what does gambling for fun mean to you as a gambler,? As I know that this phrase might mean different things for different people, would like to know what your understanding is on this.

Playing for fun doesn't mean you always have to lose money.
Even in games that don't involve money, who likes to lose? Of course, nobody likes it.

Playing games of chance for fun to me means having moments of great pleasure in which you gain a great deal of unexpected value, lose all that value, and then gain it again.
That emotion is what captivates me to keep playing.

Obviously, there are days when things go really wrong and I get really upset, but playing for fun is having the wisdom and ability to know when to stop, so that next day, next week or next month you're still having resources to go back to playing and have that emotion again, without having that weight on your conscience that you are sacrificing your financial life to maintain an addiction that should be something pleasurable.

Eu conheço  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Eu felizmente estou duplamente protegido desse hack.

@Distraction Hamilton had a chance to retire on a high note, but he didn’t and then failed to win the title and now I doubt that he can make a comeback and win it. Furthermore I believe that Max will be winning titles from now on and Leclerc at best might end up in the second position, but if Leclerc can win the title then only F1 races will become interesting otherwise the outcome will be too easy to predict.

Hamilton even shared the top of the list of all-time champions along with Michael Schumacher, amos with seven achievements.
Unfortunately in 2021 he tried to lift another trophy in that ′′ fight ′′ he had with Max Verstappen until the last corners, but ended up being overtaken.
And in 2022 he was even among the best, but he is far from getting the best placement in the Drivers' World Championship.

Let's see how it will be in 2023, as Mercedes' promise is a competitive car, and the demonstration of this evolution already at the United States GP, left Hamilton excited for the contract renewal.

Honestly, I can't imagine Hamilton out of F1 for now, this is his place, and he still has many years ahead of him to win another title.
1696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Attributing wins or loses during gambling/betting to Ego or Simply Intuition. on: December 30, 2022, 12:30:12 AM
Do you care to know if the bet made was attributed to your feelings of ego or you simply followed your intuition?

An intelligent person in gambling once told me that gambling is like drinking alcohol... which is safe to do as long as you follow some sensible rules like:
  • Limit the amount of hours you play. This will give you time to do other more important things in your life;
  • Quit while you're winning. If you continue, chances are you will lose, because the odds are always against you;
  • Stay away from high risk games where you can lose large sums of money very quickly;
  • Limit the amounts to be spent, so you won't have so much trouble if you lose.

Practically all of the points mentioned above involve controlling our emotions in order to be applied, so I believe that much more than intuition, it takes wisdom and a clean mind to achieve good results.
1697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would be an ideal KYC solution? on: December 30, 2022, 12:25:07 AM
Unfortunately, things are changing and it's not just at online casinos, but also at exchanges and any other service that deals with cryptocurrencies.

It has been a long time (two years or more) that people could find cryptocurrencies an easy way to purchase services and products completely anonymously, today governments are very attentive to everything involving cryptocurrencies, for two reasons:

1. Bitcoin has become a real threat to many state currencies, as certain (not rare) people have discovered that it is not very complicated to live on crypto income alone.

2. Hits, hits and more hits. In the past we had a lot of cases of hacks involving millions of Bitcoins, today the values have decreased, but their correlation in Fiat has increased a lot, especially when it involves large and well-known companies in the crypto environment.

Finally, I believe that this will get worse and worse, and unfortunately everything you do will be through identification and a lot of bureaucracy.

He struggled a bit at the start of this season, but over time it seems that he is starting to regain his performance, although until now Nunez has not been able to make much of a contribution in terms of his goal productivity.
The presence of Gakpo is indeed a breath of fresh air but at the moment the condition of their attack line is actually quite heaped up I think and Klopp needs several options for that.

Manchester United managed to win the first two matches of English football in the return of the World Cup very well.
First, Burnley and then Nottingham Forest, both very calm, in my opinion.
These are very encouraging results that make us believe that Manchester United is starting to see better days.

Consequently, it looks like Cristiano Ronaldo isn't being missed at all, so... either they've always had a striker deficit or they just don't need one.

I would say that Bruno Fernandes is playing very well, he makes the team play very well with the impeccable help of Eriksen and Casemiro.
The latter, Brazilian, was man of the field against Nottingham Forest and is the type of player who changes the level of a team, as he has been a reference in European football for years and remains in great shape.

Does Manchester United need a new striker? Yes... but I don't see that as a big problem.
1700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Two Gambling Stories on: December 28, 2022, 10:42:36 PM
First, in your opinion, what would be a reasonable amount to give his girlfriend? Second, assuming you were the apprentice in the story, would you abandon your training or would you have given in to the pressure to split the money with your boss?

Difficult questions to be answered, because even for law lawyers this is an answer that varies a lot from the personal interpretation of the case and the details of the circumstances.

In the first case, the right thing would be to give all the money to his girlfriend, after all, the man used money that was not his, did not warn (stole) and acted with extreme coldness when trying to return only the 10 thousand trying not to be noticed.
Obviously, the yield of this amount was the result of luck or the man's effort, so maybe he deserves some part, but in my opinion it would be less than 50%.

In the second question, obviously the apprentice should keep 100% of the profits, because he used knowledge he acquired, with his money and effort or luck. The boss doesn't deserve a penny.
