1681  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: MilesJohan scammed me for $100 on: February 01, 2015, 12:23:26 AM
Yes, i read his Trust and it seemed a little fishy, but ignored it and proceeded anyway.
That was my first trade here, so lesson learned.
Would have been much worse if I sent all 3 cards like he requested.

When he started taking about his "broker" i knew I was in trouble, lol.

1682  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] Vanilla Reload [W] BTC on: February 01, 2015, 12:17:29 AM
I would just like to state that after reading your negative trust on his account that I AM NOT AN ALT OF HIM just to be clear. He actually has sold me bitcoins for my paypal.

I would like to clarify this as well. MilesJohan is not an alt of mine, and he only sent me bitcoin yesterday for my PayPal as well.

Since I really don't have proof that one or both of you are his alts, I did not post negative trust feedback on your trust page.
But I still reserve the right to be suspicious of you two.

I am going to lock this thread now. If MilesJohan make payment or any status update, I will post it here.
1683  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 3 BTC for Vanilla Reload Bitstamp +3% on: January 31, 2015, 11:55:09 PM
I traded my 2x $100 vanilla reload ($200 total) to Xetsr for BTC.
Deal went very smoothly, no problems, very fast. I should have gone to him first. I will next time that I need btc.
Thank you very much.
1684  Economy / Scam Accusations / MilesJohan scammed me for $100 on: January 31, 2015, 11:30:58 PM
Hello, yesterday I was trading 3 vanilla reload cards, each with $100 on them.
I personally loaded the cards yesterday and checked the balances.
Eventually, MilesJohan contacted me through my thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=941463.msg10314936#msg10314936

WARNING: It is possible that the two other positive trust associated with MilesJohan are his alts or mains, maybe his "broker", to build up his trust to green.
Both were done back to back and revolved around small amount of $ and paypal.

Below is the private message conversation we had that ultimately led to him scamming me.

yes mate i chargge 7$ over the price of each bitcoin..
You are correct Smiley

Ok I guess that is fine then. 1.287 btc
We can do the trade in 3 parts if you wish.
You first for 0.429, then my card number with $100
and then repeat 2 more times?
Do you still want pictures of the receipts?

yes mate still need receipts,
I will not be going first as you can check my trust for my previous exchanges with no hassle..
send all 3 together and provide me with your btc addy,
Regards

I'm not comfortable doing all three at once. I'd rather do one at a time.
You still interested? I'm taking the pictures now.

im not going to scam you man, my account here is from 2013 and is high status , which i would like to keep...
also previous trade done yesterday for 13btc . check my trust..
Yes please take the pictures and send all 3 codes and you bitcoin address,
Regards

No sorry, i'm not comfortable with going forward with this trade.
We do it in 3 different transactions, or nothing.
Your 13 btc trade reference does not mention 13btc or show any tx and stems from a $30 something dollar paypal transaction.

ok i willing to accept 1 code at a time if you wish.

how do i send you the picture of the receipt and card?

if you can place them both side by side with codes showing off your mobile and email to
joshrichards8619@gmail.com
once approved i will send your bitcoin and we reapeat again.
Send your addy mate

Here is my addy: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I have emailed you the first card

mate u sure that code aint been used already?

no man, just bought them few hours ago.. just scratched them for your pictures.

cool just it wouldnt proccess for my broker,,,he trying again now

if the card doesn't work, i think you need to get a more trustworthy brooker.
how long does it take to normally get approval and move the funds off card?

the code he sadi is not working Sad... usualy around ten minutes. i have another guy who is online who accepts and also puts his funds in escrow, if you wish to send another code there will be no % rate as i will cover the fees because of the last problem with the last guy.
cheers

I just checked the balance on all three cards.
the one i provided you now claims being redeemed.
the other two do not, and have full balances.
It is impossible for the code not to work for your broker, I expect payment for that code from you to my btc addy already provided.
it is not my problem you used a "broker" to facilitate a common transaction.
please send the agreed upon btc to my addy.

So i should assume your silence shows your intention not to make payment and correct this error?

i will have funds for you in 8h from now, i will personally pay from my own pocket
Regards

I have heard nothing from MilesJohan since his last pm, shown above.

He is a Scammer.

UPDATE: See below, where the scammer makes his first statement to me since the event. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=942304.msg10326437#msg10326437
1685  Economy / Currency exchange / [SOLD] $200 in Vanilla reload, want BTC on: January 31, 2015, 06:45:02 PM
Hello,
I have $200 in vanilla reload. (2x $100 cards).
I have pictures of receipt and card with code, if you want them. They were paid in cash.

The only problem is that i need escrow (you must find and pay any fees) or you must pay btc upfront. We can do the trade in two parts.
I originally had 3x $100 vanilla reload cards, but was scammed out of one of them recently.
See thread in which i was scammed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=941463.msg10316937#msg10316937

I prefer to do preev's rate. Negotiable. Please pm.

Edit: I found someone who wanted the two cards. I am locking this thread.

1686  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] Vanilla Reload [W] BTC on: January 31, 2015, 07:15:42 AM
I began to do a trade for BTC with 3 $100 vanilla reload cards with MilesJohan.
Everything was agreed upon including price.

I then sent the first code with receipt in a picture to MilesJohan's email, that he provided in private message.

MilesJohan then stated shortly thereafter that his "broker" says the code has already been redeemed.

It is impossible since I checked all three codes. I personally bought them today and only just scratched them within the hour.
The two codes I have not provided him yet still show not being redeemed.

I request to be paid for the first card since it is clear that either he or his "broker" redeemed it and are now attempting a scam.

Currently, MilesJohan has not responded to my PMs and I am now leaving negative feedback.

Edit: He has now responded and claims that he will repay me in 8 hours. If he does so, he will be making good on our agreement and I will remove my negative feedback and assume that his "broker" really did rip him off or whatever.

Edit2: It has now been over 8 hours and there has been no message from MilesJohan or any payment in the addy I provided him.

Edit3: 15 hours since Scam He continues to sign on and off of his user name (MilesJohan) but does not answer my PM as to status of payment.

Edit4: I have placed an ad with our PMs in the scam accusation section:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=942304.msg10323702#msg10323702

1690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I told you so... on: January 30, 2015, 08:28:50 PM

This guy is Lord Troll. I just watched his vid, and he is basicly reading an article that is filled with half truths.
Quote around 5:30 : "...the issue is, however, that this wasn't supposed to happen. Bitcoin price was supposed to keep increasing as more bitcoins came on the market."
What?!?!
Now look at that quote/statement... does that make any sense from a free market point of view?
Supply increases on the exchanges, so the price should increase?

you must be new here. That is the stance that most bitcoin die-hards actually propagated all the time up until recently. That isn't made up, that is the actual gospel of the majority on here until just recently. People with a brain knew all along that was bullshit. Now you wake up to it and say it's trolling? No, it was the quasi official stance.
Or why do you think we have that high inflation on the coin? Just for fun? No, because some people had some, and i quote 'deep thoughts' about it and they came up with a model that supports inflation as a necessaty (for whatever moronic reasons). Bitcoin is broken on the fundamentals but people who have been calling that weeks and months ago were called trolls and now people turn around and say this would never have been said.
The majority of the community is contradicting itself and this shitcoin was a fail from the start with this rewardschedule.
Bitcoin is nothing more than a minerscam and wasn't designed to hold value ever. The specs fail royally as the charts will prove to you.

What are you talking about?
Supply and Demand.. too much supply, price goes down.
Are you trying to tell me that people thought otherwise? More supply, higher price?!?! Thats delusion.
I haven't talk to or read any thing from a respected member along those lines. It goes to the moon just for shits? Please....
If you think Bitcoin is a fail then stop posting on bitcointalk.org and go to your Hitlercoin forum and babble there.
You wrote a lot for saying nothing.
The OP is a troll and you are a troll..
1691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I told you so... on: January 30, 2015, 08:06:26 PM
The guy is an attention whore.
He gets his fix by talking nonsense sprinkled with controversial bits he found on Internet.
However, otherwise he is clueless about markets and currencies. Don't feed the troll.
you already fed him - too late.
yeah... eat this up while your at it.

1692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I told you so... on: January 30, 2015, 07:37:51 PM
I think now, most of you are ready to form a big long line to wait for your chance to kiss my ass.

Read 'em and weep: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2mJfjPiv20

What are you - a retard?!!!

All Hail Lord Troll.
1693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Topic about guy drunkenly sending 20btc - Coins came from bitstamp hack on: January 29, 2015, 02:31:50 AM
I get the feeling that drunken 20 btc guy is related to this--->https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=938476.0 guy. It is why I think this is a criminal gang who sees bitcoin muny, but has no clue how to 'puter. Or just retards trying random doors to see if one is unlocked.

Ahhh, to be in Romania in the springtime...

That guy in the thread you found....   Where are they coming from?!? LOL.
I'm sure these users are all connected in some way.
Pretty bizarre that total noobs (like complete ignorant noobs) are showing up with somewhat large sums of btc. (Or at least claim to have).
1694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Topic about guy drunkenly sending 20btc - Coins came from bitstamp hack on: January 28, 2015, 11:00:53 PM
So, what is the point of this thread? I thought its about helping the guy getting back his lost 20btc

Wrong thread. Thats the other one.

In this one, we are accusing him of participating (directly or indirectly) in the bitstamp hack.  Grin
1695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Demographic (Enthusiasts vs Fiat warriors) How to move forward? on: January 28, 2015, 10:20:54 PM
...are we all waiting for a fiat collapse for people to see the light?
This (the 2008-2009 financial collapse) is where Satoshi Nakamoto gained his inspiration for Bitcoin.
And thus, we might be reliant upon user base increases from current financial systems failing. (besides btc bubbles).

Humans do not change under normal circumstances. Change comes from unraveling of the norm.

So, when the next collapse comes, and people's 401ks get smashed or worse, I expect you will see 5 million new Bitcoin users who will attempt to understand its true purpose and join us.

1696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Topic about guy drunkenly sending 20btc - Coins came from bitstamp hack on: January 28, 2015, 07:15:59 PM
I bet that was one of the hackers (or the hacker), messing around to see if anyone here would notice the 20btc's origin.
Probably just testing people and rubbing it in.

Kind of farfetched that a Bitcoin noob would happen to buy 20btc cheaply on the darkweb, and then lose it immediately while drunk.
Sounds like BS.

That was the hacker trolling or testing. IMO.

1698  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 796 lost 1,000 bitcoin on: January 28, 2015, 05:00:15 AM
What does this mean? A little lost here

After translation from google, seems that a Chinese exchange called 796 was hacked out of 1,000 BTC, by hackers switching the deposit (or withdrawal) address.. or something to that effect.

"... after detailed analysis of various logs and audit records, we found the system to update a few days ago the existence of sub-module exploited by hackers, causing the user to mention the current address has been tampered with, coupled with hackers deliberately used a similar address with the original withdrawals address to confuse users and our manual review."

Here is the google translation link I used.

1699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: flatscreen tv on: January 27, 2015, 05:01:03 AM
so how do any of us expect the bitcoin to rise in value over long term when there is so much innovative competition that could add attributes in a new blockchain which would out-date bitcoin in efficiency in every way?

Other people are more knowledgeable to answer your question in more detail, but bitcoin's value is based on supply & demand, on a "currency" that, over time, is growing more and more scarce. (Around late 2016, at the halving, bitcoin's block reward will be cut from 25 to 12.5) That is how it becomes more valuable, over time.

As to your statement about innovation, Bitcoin can be "updated" and "forked" if the community all agrees to do so.
If we needed to upgrade to a higher form of encryption, instead of SHA256, we could.
Most likely, there will be no "innovation" that will replace Bitcoin outright.
Bitcoin will exist as long and people use it and miners mine it.

You might be referring to an Alt-coin surpassing Bitcoin. That is possible, but not likely since Bitcoin basically has a three year lead on all other coins.

Bitcoin is adaptable and will continue for many more years, IMO.

Edit: Also, Bitcoin currently is truly decentralized. Some of the "innovative" blockchain like tech, that is theoretically better then Bitcoin in the future, would most likely be run by a company like google or apple, or maybe even a government. That type of blockchain is not what Satoshi Nakamoto envisioned.

Why is this payment still unconfirmed with such a high fee after so many blocks?
