Well dear, unfortunately merit has become a political tool, people use it as leverage to support their like minded community members and oppress their adversaries.
It could be used in a discussion to inadvertently or otherwise to silence a few selected, because if you are unaware of some facts and see people are meriting my posts against someone else, you'd  automatically assume that I'm right and telling the truth in that said discussion.

But I'm not wrong about the collision, if you hash the Shakespeare to derive the address, but if you manage to get a hold of that address on bitcoin network, you'd have yourself a SHA-256 collision. Thanks to the nature of 160 bit hashes in bitcoin, we can now safely collide with a 256 bit hash only by looking in 160 bit range.

Well, you say we can't do RIPEMD-160 directly on public keys, well I have done it and have got valid addresses, FYI, all the "theories" about the possible collisions are inaccurate, almost all of the Y coordinates could be used as X coordinates for other addresses, and vice versa.

I just gave you an attack vector, which has nothing to do with bitcoin, it just happens that bitcoin has put itself in the middle of 2 hash collisions ( rather who ever designed them did ).

OMG, Alberto guess what? I just discovered a new formula to attack 3 targets at the same time, there is a way to break ECC, SHA256- and RIPEMD-160 in one try, here is the procedure:
We perform *RIP-160 on public keys, and save the resulting addresses or just their hashes, and then we go after finding just one of them and when we find that one, we'll have a SHA-256 and a RIP-160 collision, but unfortunately that would break the ECC as well. Though in order to demonstrate how serious this attack could be, for the involved parties in development to see and think about the solution, we need to do this with all our forces combined.

In regards to private key collision, are we talking about 2^96 different private keys, 2^96 different public keys which only result in a single RIPEMD-160 ( Address )?

Would that mean 2^96 bitcoin public keys hash to the same SHA-256 hash value? I guess there are indeed 2^96 different public keys that their SHA-256 collides, because we can't mathematically derive 2 different addresses from 1 hash.

However there is also an option to directly use RIPEMD-160 on your public key and get 2 different addresses, but the blockchain doesn't know how to verify your ownership of the new address unless you tell the nodes/ miners to do RIP-160 directly and skip the SHA-256.

Now with the idea explained above, it opens up a window of collision attack on hash-160 and SHA-256 algos. In such a way where if you perform RIP-160 on your pub you would get an address e.g. ( 1digaranXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXsomething) then knowing the private/public keys of that address is equal to knowing that the SHA-256 hash of the pub key of that address collides with your original public key on RIPEMD-160 algo.

If I'm wrong, good for all, but if I'm right then this should be taken care of because if I could get this right, others might have already figured it out.

Officially moderating scams will cause false sense of safety, where people assume scammers couldn't operate while the reality is the opposite. DT members being the decentralized moderators of scams is the best course of action where it leads to no liability for the forum itself.

How many smerits per month would get you going? I haven't checked your sent merits and I'm not fit to have an opinion regarding your application. As to whether or not you should be accepted.
However not getting any attention from the only person in charge of merit system could mean a few things.
1- admin doesn't feel the need for a new source especially in a local board.
2- he doesn't wanna hurt your feelings by directly rejecting you( don't know why this man is this much nice and kind ).
3- he doesn't want to make you a source quickly because others might expect the same in the future, so you should wait a bit longer and persist on it.

Various reasons, bitcoin is not ready for mass adoption.
Price should be high and stable enough to make it profitable for miners and less costly for nodes.
The concept of lightning network/off chain solutions is great, you just need to trust them enough and use them for small amounts, that's the idea of off chain network anyways.
People are already paying the fees, though they are not trusting a third party when using the main chain, but if a solution such as LN is well known and trustworthy, I can't see a reason as to why people shouldn't use it.
