1681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: March 17, 2014, 02:45:40 PM
Hello, i'm an average Joe!

I understand nearly nothing in this thread cause i have no experience with programming and cryptos, exchange and so on. But i can feel positiv and negativ energy and in this project, i can feel a ton of positiv energy. That's the main reason that led me to buy NXT, hold it for long long time, and believe in it! I don't know how many average guys like me read this thread, but i think there are some and there are going to be new ones day by day. For Joe's like me THIS is the most important thing and could also attract new investors!

Just wanted to let you know  Smiley

It makes fun and happy to read and follow all your hard work! I try to support and do my part by liking and sharing on socials all the time.
Thanks for your good work!
Im seeing this here, and the competing protocols, where lots of seemingly theoretical detail is swapped/discussed/argued, with absolutely nothing to offer average Joe, other than a hope that the devs and close others, can actually deliver the very incomplete DEX's out there.

Theres obviously an expectation issue to account for, but currently it feels like a collective wall has been hit, with people looking at each other, hoping the other knows how to get over said wall.  Undecided

Unless you have been intimately involved from the start, how can you know that with certainty?

At this point i would be very shocked if Sam and Garr are not just the same person...

where is the proof, the transparency?

And then you go full circle, back to Garr's auction shilling days.

Garr cant be honest with his own capabilities right now, and doesnt understand how far away he is from being the business man he would like to be. Any investment here, is an investment in a young individuals journey of mistakes and problems, that many here, have experienced many times over.

Best thing would be take this away from Garr. If only to save him this farce, following him for years to come.   IMO

Hello everyone,

I apologize greatly for the late response. Garrett has been in San Francisco for the past few days, and I have been off the grid without internet.

We can make very little excuses for the low hash rate you have seen in the last few days. As before, the problem was a result of CT hardware that isn't working properly, combined with a lack of attention and quick response on our part. Garrett was focused on securing the new, cheap-power location. This is important, but of course so is keeping the hardware online. He should have been focused on both of these tasks. Garrett is very aware of his mistakes, and is committed to fixing all of this immediately.

In response to allegations that Garrett has been stealing from Cognitive: I can assure you that this is absolutely untrue. Mismanagement in some areas -  perhaps yes. But stealing or any sort of criminal activity, absolutely not. While my word may mean very little to you, I can tell you that I have access to the shop where all the hardware currently resides, have helped with the setup of this hardware, and that all of this hardware has been hashing for Cognitive, and no one else.

It is our promise that Garrett and I will work our hardest to fix all of this as soon as possible.

- Samuel

I smashed a third gen iPad against the wall.
I wanted to do that, because of those resource hungry charts that Ukyo refused to turn off by default.

Anyway, you really should show your wall more respect.  Tongue

1687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Anon136's Silver Bullion NXT Gateway on: March 14, 2014, 12:04:00 PM

I guess it will be sold only in US.
What about the European market ? What do you need to make your Silver Bullion available to Europe ?

its going to be us only at first. after that i will explore options for other parts of the world.
Can possibly set you up with a trusted UK re-seller, if thats the route you take.

Good to see you connect with Newliberty.
1688  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: March 14, 2014, 11:15:00 AM
or maybe... upgrade the classic to metallics then give metallic preorders 2. Aren't they like 15 bucks worth of materials and labour?
It will be perverse, if the metals become generally available for sale, while the early classic orders cannot be released because of the present delays (and look to be at least 6 weeks from a finished production run) with the cases. That scenario would question the sense in making an early order, together with the fact that the coming general sales will probably be less in BTC than those early orders.

Lets hope Trezor can do something here.
1689  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Ukyo.Loan - Paying 0.05% daily. on: March 13, 2014, 09:14:50 AM
Personal Loan to Ukyo
...
Description:
I have been presented with an interesting opportunity that I would prefer to not sell off other investments for.

At the time he claimed to be working to get the necessary state-level MSB licensing and was preparing to have WeExchange take over the USD side of Mt Gox's businesses.

I am sure that this is the reason why he needed the loan.
I doubt that was the case, then they should have been able to start up with those states that don't need licensing much faster and the cost/timeframe for the remaining 43 states don't seem to match the loan size or time frame passed with what cryptsy and btcquick mentioned about the licensing subject.
But maby the ide with such possible project on weexchange is only to present the project when there already registered in all states and when they could work on the whole USA market. If that was the thought to act as a payment gateway to the FIAT/USD market in the USA then other actors in the btcsector than the now defunct mtgox could benefit from that in the future.

If there actually is such thing in the process then there's a huge trust issue for weexchange/Ukyo to work on now after how things have been handled the last couple of months.
Ukyo did have an intention to integrate with Gox around last summer. I was shown a mock-up of the integration page by Ukyo back then. But that project seemed to just die, with the Bitfunder problems starting a few months later, so not sure if there is a link there or not. However, i do believe it inconceivable that Ukyo did not have funds on Gox.

I'm surprised no one has hired me yet to investigate this guy. If you're willing to do $50, I can provide you with his full SSN, full assets, any bankruptcies he's been through whether dismissed or not, any liens and judgments he's received an full details on those. I can provide a 10 year address history and his current address, if he owns his property and all the details on that. Also, any vehicles he currently and has owned in the past and all the associated details on that, from the VIN to the license plate #, make, model and more. I can provide you with a verified cell or home number, perhaps both. I can provide any criminal history he had since he was 18yo. I can also list any corporations under his name and full details with that and finally his relatives, their contact details (I won't do their addresses, but will provide their names and phone numbers. And probably more details too.

Search "tldoctor" on this forum (that was my old user name) to see the testimonials that others have given. The person that hires me, will need to disclose their real name, age, city and state for me to take the case. They must also email me a reason of intent. For example, "I plan to use the data in court against the person to recover stolen money." That way I'm in the clear for providing all these details.

Anyone that wants this service, feel free to let me know. Turn around time is about 48 hours, but most cases, I can do right away. Also, this isn't data found on sites like spokeo or wherever. I use my licensed collection agency's tools and access to get the data and my experience and skill to verify it.

Eric
Search for Jon Montoll, Weexchange, and Bitfunder threads. Pretty sure some people have had enough of the aforementioned, and would consider taking up your service offers, if you are genuine.

So, our man Lawsky, is opening the doors to prospective Bitcoin businesses, like exchanges etc. Although i believe Ukyo is applying in another country, why would Ukyo now need to jump through foreign "red tape" to be in a position to return our funds?
http://www.coindesk.com/new-york-accepting-applications-digital-currency-exchanges/

OR, if you believe no more funds will be returned, you have the choice to fill the void that incompetents leave behind.......

http://www.coindesk.com/us-securities-regulator-finra-warns-bitcoins-investment-risks/
"......FINRA, likewise, suggested it will be monitoring events in the digital currency space.

The regulatory body ended the release by encouraging those who have been defrauded by a securities professional or firm to file a complaint with its representatives or to contact its support lines with tips and information."

1693  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Moving Forward/Resolution Process on: March 05, 2014, 10:43:49 AM
Danny made the point to me recently in a PM, that he is owed what sounds like a considerable sum from Jon/Ukyo/Bitfunder/Weex. And i believe him.
However, we have recently been shown that it matters not, what connections, or skin, or 'knowledge' you have in this game, where you are dealing and relying on someones word.
What i mean is.....how much did Eric V and Charlie S have under Gox's control?
How many days before Mark was forced to bow, was Andreas and Charlie saying that insolvency was not an issue?

Dont get me wrong, im not judging the people named here per se. Its how they approach their judgements, is what i question.

So just relying on Danny's involvement is flawed and based on hope alone........UNLESS WE SEE EVIDENCE OF REAL PROGRESS!

Okay, I see the point now.

Sigh. I did indeed follow the gox saga (before it started, to everything in between like reddit posts, podcasts, Charlie, Eric, etc.)...

Those capitals were meant for Ukyo, not you. Apologies if you took it so.
1694  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Moving Forward/Resolution Process on: March 05, 2014, 08:47:01 AM
guys, i need ukyo's company registration paper ...because I am going to find a lawyer to get back our BTC back. if anyone knows ,please share it with me ,thanks !!!

Sincerely: good luck. Please do so =)

I don't personally have much hope getting my btc back but :  a) it would be really satisfying to at least, through the process of a trial discovery, have Jon Montroll tell the truth about what happened and what he did        and b) if he just got away with stealing all this money with absolutely no repercussions it would be sort of depressing.

If I wasn't a pretty poor guy I would gladly donate to this cause. (Unfortunately I'm pretty poor, which is part of the reason losing my bitcoin was so distressing here.) If it did work and our money was refunded though I'll give you whatever I get back to you for launching the suit.
Has Ukyo published the contact details of his lawyer yet?

+1 Dev

Dev you have been open and honest from the start. Admitting liability and working your hardest to fix this. I have lost BTC in C-Cex and here now. But I must say you have been far more open and honest about not only what happened but how you plan to remedy the situation. Your message about the issue I think also deserves a lot of credit, whilst C-cex has been better than Mt. Gox, I fear their reputation will eventually see them close.

Good work Dev, I will certainly keep using your exchange. For all the users moaning - I suggest you go play on the regulated stock and Fx markets or STFU!

It's funny that you mention them because there's no mention of any problem on their website, either: https://c-cex.com/

Mt. Gox, Coinmarket, C-Cex

Sensing a pattern?
No. Its all in your head.

I suppose you cannot come up with an intelligent or logical argument so personal attacks will suffice.

"You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe!"

Let's get back to being constructive, though we do not agree on all of our constructions. (But I suppose the lesser of us will continue the personal attacks while avoiding the elephant in the room.)
You can stop typing now. Thanks

busoni, you need to shut down Poloniex now and try to make your users whole from your own funds and debt. Do not continue trying to run an exchange. Your post mortem indicates that you do not have sufficient programming ability to handle other peoples money - no mention was even made of database transactions, which are a basic "database programming 101" topic. Your proposed fix of checking for negative balances is wrong and indicates that your code is almost certainly riddled with other exploitable bugs.

Please do the right thing and refund everyones outstanding balances, then wind up your operation.
Appreciate your input Mike, and understand why.

I think talk of databases would be lost on who it was intended for. But the way Busconi communicated the info should be the start of a template, yes?
1698  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC Stolen from Poloniex on: March 04, 2014, 09:37:07 AM
Busoni is a man of his word.  I lost some BTC in the XCP hack, and he paid it back in installments just as he promised.  His response to both these events has restored my faith in Poloniex.

I'm amazed that still some people have their head stuck in the sand. Ya, ya, just hold on guys, Jon Montroll is going to just come back one day and give you your stolen money back lol. Keep on waiting !

Exactly what I am going to do. Squirm all you want.

Cryptocyprus has more BTC lost in this debacle than I do, says he'll be the last to get paid back, and he thinks he'll eventually get it back. I'd listen to him more than you.

And what the hell is it with this "trust rating" system on these forums? It must be utterly full of shit because I have a -4 reputation and never did anything other than post stuff here. Is it some kind of "I disagree with this bozo so I down vote his trust rating" thing? Pankkake, how wonderful.
