New question : CG miner reports that difficulty is set to 526k. This seems overmuch as the current difficulty of CHNcoin is 8. How do i change this ?

CGMiner reports what the network is saying.  If it says 526k, then it's 526k.  Are you sure you're on the right pool/network?

M
.. and in case he are mixing coin pools ... read the first 3 lines of the README Smiley

It's funny you've quoted README's two times now without solving anything, kind of like you're telling me to RTFM while actually you don't really know what you're talking about.

Here's the answer https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=195259.msg2030732#msg2030732

still puzzled by your avatar though

Keep up the good work Paul !
1683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CHN coin difficulty??!! on: May 05, 2013, 12:43:33 AM
A pool is definitely the best way to go now. You'll get regular payments instead of having to rely on entirely on luck to hit the 88 CNC jackpot. I've been mining on blastbob's pool for about 5 hours @ 1.2 Mhash/s and received 30.33 CNC to date.

Sure it's possible that I could have found a block by myself in that timeframe but it's equally as possible I could have found nothing because it all comes down to who submits the block first. There's no prizes for coming second. The calculator doesn't take into account the blocks you find that are orphaned and worth nothing to you.

If I take that 30.33 as an average, that works out at 145.56 CNC for 24 hours and selling that at bter.com for BTC and then turning it into fiat at BTC-e would net a nice healthy $45 and that's if I didn't hold out for favourable prices.

You have an extra 600 khash/s so you would potentially earn 33% more than that on a pool. Those kind of profits are definitely worth sacrificing the potential of hitting the jackpot which will definitely be few and far between at this stage.

Thanks for clearing that up mate/
1684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CHN coin difficulty??!! on: May 05, 2013, 12:02:51 AM
Why is it to high ? The calc says that it will take an avarage of 5 hours, meaning that I'd make an avarage of 420 coins per day.
Is there another factor I'm not considering then ?
1685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CHN coin difficulty??!! on: May 04, 2013, 11:57:00 PM
Aha I was wondering this too.

Does it pay to mine solo with 1.85Mhash at this difficulty ? How can I tell if anything positive is happening ? CGminer keeps detecting new blocks and I have a super high hashrate but I don't see any feedback that Im making progress.

Awesome man ! Thanks ! I guess now I have to be lucky too.

thanks in advance for replying.

Hi guys. Quick question : i'm trying to solo mine CHNcoin and when I run my freshly created solomine.bat, I get error -61. WHat does it mean and how do I er...." decrease TC or increase LG" I don't know what those two settings even mean.

Is it because overclocking software was started at boot or some other process is interfering with CG miner ?

thanks in advance for replying.

Thanks Kano. Your avatar is fascinating, by the way. Is that a picture of you trying to provoke your audience into thinking you are about to sever your forearm with a katana blade ?

Anyhoo.

Turns out I didn't set the MAX ALLOCATION too 100%. That fixed it.

[quote author=Uchmanpj The dumbest part of it all, is all of the sellers on Bter. There's literally no more than $6-7000 in supply right now. If they collectively waited for even an hour, the price would double. That said, the idiocy on most of these exchanges shows how much money there is to be made from inefficiencies...
[/quote]

I still made a lot of money in just two days, so I'm not complaining. ( too much anyway Wink I'm doing it be folowing my gut feeling though.

Can you give a few quick tips on how to better exploit these inefficiencies or maybe give me advise on liturature to read up on ?
1690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS] CNC might soon be traded on Bter.com on: May 04, 2013, 05:53:47 PM
Funny. After reading all you guys negative replies I changed my mind and sold my entire stash for 25 LTC per k. 7k.

which would now have been worth 21 BTC !

I'm never listening to you guys again Smiley
1691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC / CNC Exchange: Google Docs #2 on: May 04, 2013, 05:51:41 PM
Haha it's funny. I created a thread yesterday explaining how CNC would skyrocket after hitting Bter.com. It got so many negative replies that I changed my mind and sold my entire supply of 7k.

DOH !

I'm never listening to you guys again hahaha

1696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC / CNC Exchange: Google Docs #2 on: May 03, 2013, 10:53:41 PM
Wow the last three guys who PM'ed me were pretty obvious scammers. Juniors with 7 posts, refusing to send 25 bucks worth of CHN in big trades first... pffff....

By the way, I'm on the good guys list but only 2 of many 6 or 7 trades are listed and the total volume of the last two trades alone is 7k.
Check my sig thread for at least partial proof. The old FC/LTC sheet has the rest.
1697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looks like we already need a Google Docs for BitBars.. on: May 03, 2013, 10:24:31 PM
Ah just like the good old Feathercoin days.. Remember it back then? (like it was yesterday)

It WAS yesterday :-D
1698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][CNC][P2pool] Blastbobs unstable p2pool CHNcoin server(s) on: May 03, 2013, 10:23:57 PM
I'm still using this simply because it's the most stable pool I could find after trying them all. Those pushpools pay out crap for some reason.
1699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] a new coin based on Litecoin - CHNCoin on: May 03, 2013, 10:21:51 PM
Sorry to spam this here but I'm looking to buy 10k for 21 LTC per K. PM me.

You know, if you had not turned me down last night, you would have saved me from being scammed out of 700...

Sorry to hear that man. Did you put the scammer on the list ?

I keep warning people about scammers... there seem to be a lot. Don't send LTC first to people without a good trackrecord. I've managed to not get scammed A SINGLE TIME by being very careful. And maybe  a little lucky Smiley
1700  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER ALERT WikileaksDude is a scammer on: May 03, 2013, 09:37:49 PM
The thing is, with the new altcoins you don't really have a choice. But yeah, only do business with people who have proven to be trustworthy
