Maxcoin was one of the worse launched and dev support is still poor. You would assume a qt wallet would be out before a launch. Plus the devs didn't really give the public transparent information on it. I'd rather mine LTC, DRK, VERT, HIC, HVC and other coins than Maxcoin.

Seems about the same hash/$ price ratio as the KNC miner. Not sure of the power consumption, as the KNC is about 800~1000 watts, supposedly.

Is this miner only for solo mining at the moment or does it work with any of the current XPM pools?
Only solo ATM. Oh ok. Do you still need any more volunteers to test the miner out?

Will there be a HVC miner optimization for non-GCN cards, ie. HD 5850, 5870, 6950, 6970, etc? They run slow, barely 4 to 4.5 mhs.
Any plan to optimize the PTS miner?
For HVC, probably not, unless AMD fixes their compiler for VLIW, which is unlikely. For PTS, yes, but it is quite low on priority list. Looks like AMD isn't focusing on improving VLIW any time soon. Mantle and the open API is their focus with the GCN technology. It would be cool to see a new PTS miner. What cards are suggested to use the "VIP" password? Would it be worth to use it on a single 7970? I also have a 7850 too and would that work ok with that?

No need to post this, you posted in another topic. The point is what will people turn to while ASIC Scrypt miners flood the market. I give you due diligence to pointing your facts/opinion, but no need to over do it please.

In reality, everything can be eventually ASIC mined eventually. But I have not heard anyone taking anything with more than one algo in an ASIC project, I could be wrong, but I'm human. I meant by high memory constraints, I meant higher than what Scrypt requires.
|
|
|
Instead of just copying what quark and other coins have done, I think there should be long term strategic change in the hashing mechanism to make it truly ASIC and bot-net resistant.
We can't just keep hardforking Litecoin again in the future when people start building ASICS for X11.
It will be quite a while before someone figures out a ASIC for X11 or any multi-algo. ASIC's also aren't good with high memory constraint and multi-algos at the moment. ASIC seem to be more efficient with low memory and single algos. People copy ideas from everybody eventually, it's improving on the idea that is important, ie. cars, etc..... Evolution and adaptation is important in everything in life, same with cryptos. I fully back the idea of the hard fork.
|
|
|
2 of the algos are already GPU mineable with SPH miner. Seems like it will be a matter of time when SPH miner with have this algo mine-able too.

Yacoin is missing from the list.
Such as all the other scrypt-jane variable N-factor coins.
Adding it to the list in a moment....Thanks Funny someone picks "None". Guess someone hates GPU mining...LOL

|
|
Great idea to keep LTC decentralized, X11 is a good candidate. There's a lot of more power efficient algos than Scrypt and Scrypt-N only is ASIC resistant but GPU hostile. Heavy, Blake, Fugue, INK and others are also a consideration too.

|
|
I find that BAMT or Windows 8/8.1 does best for GPU mining. Which OS is best to gpu mine with?
|
|
|
Just a poll to see what everyone thinks will replace GPU mining after the ASIC completely take over Scrypt Mining.
Personally I mine X11 or HVC. But I like Fuguecoin hash rates and hope someone can fork a coin from it mix it in a new algo with X11-ish concepts.

Hope fully someone with the time, skills and drive to continue this project. As the original developer seems to ditch this like a hoe to the curb. This does have potential.

Hello, this is my rig Mother board: Gigabyte 970 a-ud3p cpu: amd athlon II x2 270 Memory: 8gb psu: evga 1000g2 supernova 80 gold grafic card 1: GV-R929OC-4GD-GA grafic card 2: GV-R928XOC-3GD hdd: 2.5 sata 80 gb
But i can only get 859 kh/s with the 290 and get only 721 with the 280x am i doing some thing wrong i am using msi afterburner with this setings grafic card 1 290: core 980 memory 1499 grafic car 2 280x: core 1049 memory 1500
i read that the 290 can get 890 kh/s and the 280x 760 kh/s what am i doing wrong i can't get more than the values i put above
Your on par with most other miners. Just make sure you cooling for the GPU are good.

first off your new, ditch cgminer. A lot of people may say im wrong but start with guiminer. My 7790 runs @ 875 core 1750 memory 265k 24/7 never over 70 degrees. Get guiminer, input your info and try 800/1500 thread concurrency 8000 worksize 256 1 vector 1 gpu thread and see how it goes at intensity 16 if your monitor is running off it. Make your you have the latest non beta drivers also, not more than one overclocking software present (trixx, afterburner etc). Trixx is much more effective than afterburner on my 7790, afterburner screwed me up a lot. Report back. edit guiminer-scrypt
Guiminer is just a front-end interface for either cgminer, cudaminer or pooler's cpuminer. Guiminer is buggy and gives false readings or freezes. Hi,
I have an issue. I have a 7790, however, I can not get the hash-rate above 125. If I set the intensity above 11, all I get are HW errors. Also, I have not been able to set TC to more than 3584.
Here is my start line: cgminer --scrypt -o xxxx:xxxx -u xx.xx -p xxxx -I 10 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 3584
I am running Memory at 1500, and core at 830.
I have a core 2 Duo, and 1 GB of RAM. The card is directly in the PICE slot.
Thanks
Matt
Have you tried to make a conf file? You can enter more options and fine tune it. Usually 4GB works best in my personal experience, 64-bit or 32-bit OS. Just nice overhead to have just in case the system needs it. Don't the 7790 core OC to 1Ghz easily? TC could probably run better at 8000~8192 and gpu thread at 1 (-g 1). Gpu thread at 2 (-g 2) works good on the 5970, 6990, 7970, 7990, 280x, 290 and 290x.

Out of your selection, it would be MSI. The Sapphire Toxic and Trixx are the better cards.

When will blakecoin and heavycoin be incorporated in the miner? Since XPM is about to have a miner, will that be also a possibility in this sph miner? I like this miner because it's like a swiss army knife...lol

I only have one 7970 and 7870, 2x 5870, 2x 6950, and a 6970. I'm down to test with all the cards, even though only the 7970 and 280x are officially the ones that work on the miner. Let me know if you still need someone to test the miners for the cards I have.
