Wasn't there a separate thread for all the COViD discussions.....

Actually this convoy thing is supporting the immutability argument which makes it a different animal all together.

"Fortune favors the Brave"

crash imminent, bitcoin is now dead for the next 2 years confirmed

edit: not worried about bitcoin, since 1btc = 1btc, but all others, nfts...and all that pile of vaporware

Seems appropriate.

As we have Haiku Sunday and I am completely unfit to create such non-rhyming poetry, I deem it appropriate to post about Haiku OS which is basically the successor of BeOS and has a vivid history.
They released last week their third beta of the initial release and those of you that are interested in alternative operating systems might want to take a closer look. I reckon fans of MacOS in earlier times might find it appealing.

Quote from: What is Haiku OS?
Haiku is an open-source operating system that specifically targets personal computing. Inspired by the BeOS, Haiku is fast, simple to use, easy to learn and yet very powerful.

I gave it a whirl in qemu and on real hardware and I am thrilled by its clean and simple design and it's performance. A very refreshing experience and I will keep it on my watchlist.

A nice, sunny and funny Sunday to all of you, may the 45k be with us!

EDIT: screenshot added

I still have the original cd for BeOS on release I got mailed.

I installed Haiku again last year to see the improvements and chatted with one of the devs for a while, what other OS can you install and have a dev lurking for a chat!

A private investigator who does missing persons searches and accepts Monero posted here, or somewhere, offering his services.  Anybody has a link?

I saw that in a reddit post.

Pretty good critical analysis of blockchain tech. Monero solves many (but not all) of the problems discussed. It gets a brief mention, but clearly David hasn't taken a close look.

Hey all you Texans (there tends to be alot of you guys in this thread) I have a question for you.

Is SmartEnergy the name of the company that scammed everyone during the blackout last year?

I just got a unsolicited offer from them to switch over offering credit and seem to remember that is one of the companies that screwed you guys over.

it has an average score of 1 (out of 5), FYI.
I would never use them, but one time I used a company with many negs (not on my own volition) and it turned out OK in the end.
The main thing-do they bill right and do they process payments correctly? If a few people say that they don't, then i don't even consider it.

Thanks, I have no intention of using them but I'm wondering if they got away with fucking all those texans so now they are trying to move into other states.

But I still don't know if thats one of the companies that did it.

I would think a company that was fucking people over while the people they were supposed to be serving were literally dieing would have been shut down by now, not expanding.

So that is really why I want to know if thats one of them or the one. I'm not even sure if it was multiple companies.

It's funny that company (and places) names in US are now turned completely Orwellian doublespeak.
Examples: Sunnyside-biggest s-thole in Houston, Haverstock hills, New hope, Brigid's hope, Magnificat houses, etc., etc. All below par.
So, if you see something like "Shiny Hill Village apartments", stay away.
So, by this critetia, a company that calls itself "Smart" is likely to be at the bottom of the barrel.

Once the politicians got away with stealing away our constitutional rights by calling it a "patriot act". the companies jumped on the bandwagon.

It's amazing how stupid the general population really is.

But at this point all of this is nothing more but baseless speculation. Smiley

Dude has everything. Goes out on top. GOAT forever.

Versus gambling for one more SB ring or a possible injury or just having a bad frustrating season and tarnishing his stats/reputation/etc.

I hope Gisele puts her foot down and keeps him retired. As for money, he can still make many millions with ads and merchandise and maybe working in broadcasting or coaching or whatever tickles him.

All true and valid points but logic sometimes doesn't come into play when pride and competitiveness comes into the equation.

In the end I bet he will choose with emotions.

Q:
How it’s possible they were so stupid to keep their private key on plain text on a cloud service?

A:

Actually this looks exactly like someone that would be stupid enough to be used as a cutout and get busted but whoever was actually behind it is not stupid enough to use cloud storage.

Possibly they were setup with a deal involved to be the "masterminds".

Yeah, I'm sure if they dangle enough cash then he will play or maybe he just wants to hear the fans all yelling for him to play.

But in the interim he can slack off and work on getting that middle age paunch.

I don’t think money has anything to do with Brady coming back what so ever. In fact Brady has been one of the most reasonable professional athletes ever when it came to contracts, often taking less so that others could have more / be signed to make the team more competitive. I personally really hope he comes back for one more.

True that, but everyone has a number. Smiley
1718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: February 09, 2022, 06:41:25 AM
I personally think Brady does not want to keep his off season regime up and knows he will not be as competitive if he plays next year without it.

He's a pretty honest guy IMO.

Does Brady’s being honest imply that he has really retired as he has announced in social media or does this imply that he does not know what he will feel in 6 months and he will take things as they come?

In any case, what are everyone’s bets for the superbowl? I want to take everyone’s advice and combine all of your analysis in sportsbet.io’s bet builder hehehehehe.

@South Park. I reckon Brady’s activities for the next 6 months might give everyone a clue if he is planning on going back or not.

I'm leaning Bengals but that may just be because I'm rooting for them.

Pretty evenly matched teams except I think the Bengals receivers have a little more depth and the rams have a better pass rush and of course burrows can run.

He’s said on his podcast never say never, I believe today. He said he doesn’t foresee anything changing with his decision but let’s be honest you can’t ever say never for complete certainty. So he’s leaving a window open. Guy still a top 5 QB in the league and I imagine deep down he didn’t want to leave with so much left in the tank. We shall see.

In other news one of my appreciations of many of you whom frequent this thread is our mutual disdain for that clown Stephan A- any of you catch him threatening tiki barber lol https://nypost.com/2022/02/07/stephen-a-smith-slams-tiki-barber-over-giants-brian-flores-comments/amp/
