1701  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is this address format (e.g.: BTC.443860.3.56318) a good idea? on: December 23, 2016, 01:35:41 PM
In the future we will hopefully have confidential transactions as proposed by gmaxwell and then it will not be possible to know what amount of BTC is being moved around, also we will have coinjoin and other privacy stuff. Wouldn't this make your format incompatible with those transactions? or you can still get the information needed?

Also I think in the future we will have some sort of "email" format where you can give to people and when they send you coins it automatically receives them in newly generated addresses for better privacy easily instead of the complex long addresses. I think Bitcoin should have this "email of money" instead of trying to look like an annoying bank account (I hate when I have to share bank account details because the numbers are so long and one mistake and you are fucked)
1702  Economy / Speculation / Re: And 2016’s best-performing commodity is ... bitcoin? on: December 23, 2016, 01:27:47 PM
I feel bad for all the people that I have tried to warn over the past year and a half. I kept telling them how obvious it was that bitcoin would go to 1000+ again and surpass the ATH towards a new unseen high, but they just wouldn't listen. They would say bitcoin is a scam and it's dead because "it cant scale". A lot of idiots have bought the big block nonsense and are now missing on those measly gains.
Oh wait, I don't really feel bad for them at all. Merry christmas!!
1703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 207: Rousey vs Nunes Prediction and Info Thread on: December 21, 2016, 05:32:31 PM
Only 10 days to go for the fight, still haven't firgured out what to do with this one. I didn't bet any fight in UFC 206 because I didnt saw it clear except for the Urijah fight where i thought he could win but I wastn sure 100% so I lost an opportunity to make money.

Now with this new fight I cant honestly predict any of them.
1704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC on FOX 22: VanZant vs Waterson Prediction and Info Thread on: December 21, 2016, 05:10:51 PM
I should have put money on Uriajah Faber, I knew that he wouldn't lose for his last fight, but I avoided this event completely. Im saving money to gamble in the Ronda vs Nunes fight, and im still yet trying to guess who is going to win.
1705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Price Is At Lowest Point, It Is Time To Buy And Later Sale - Make Profit on: December 21, 2016, 04:55:16 PM
bitcoin to $806 right now and still rising, i doubt that any of the altcoins specially an altcoin like ETH which is known to go down when bitcoin is rising, can ever rise during this time. so my suggestion is to stay away for the time being because prices in ETH market are falling fast and will continue falling fast for the foreseeable future.

but it will stop at some point and have some small come backs before falling more.

We hit the 830 dollar mark today, now it's correcting a bit but this is a very healthy rally. I would not last long outside of bitcoin, it's a bad idea to sell for anything. If you have BTC just keep them, risk/reward ratio is simply not worth trying to make more BTC right now by betting on some altcoin that may break the next morning.
1706  Economy / Economics / Re: I have 12 BTC in my Account, How should I invest this?? on: December 21, 2016, 04:38:31 PM
As we see, holding and waiting is the best method, we are now heading towards 900 dollars per coin. We went from 765 to 830 in a matter of days... just buy more bitcoin and keep holding, is really that easy, don't try to play on the alt market because you will most likely get scammed by those damn shitcoins.
1707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If bitcoin prices rise up to $100,000, will you still gamble using bitcoins? on: December 21, 2016, 12:47:07 AM
I would be finally rich when bitcoin hits 100,000 dollars, some say rich people like to gamble, in my case i would rather spend it on a nice house and live a stress free lifestyle with no work, commuting and other bullshit. I hate working and I hate having to commute everyday. I hope BTC rises to the sky soon so I can abandon this boring torture of a lifestyle otherwise i'll just blow my brains off when I turn 40.
1708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can gambling help you with your life? on: December 21, 2016, 12:28:01 AM
Lossing 1 BTC may not be devastating for you but it would be for me and for a lot of other people in here that are humble btc holders and work hard everyday trying to get whatever is left to get before we go for 100k per coin and its impossible to make any more entire BTC units. Thing is, I never gamble any more cause it causes too much mental pain to lose for weeks after.
1709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Holyshit! HUGE Litecoin news: Segwit & more updates to be deployed Jan 1st! on: December 20, 2016, 08:11:22 PM

Segwit is dead upon arrival, the Chinese mining pools are never going to agree to it.
https://coin.dance/blocks (it needs 95% to activate by Nov 2017, it will never reach half that %)

SegWit only needs 75% of miners to agree to it on Litecoin. I think we'll reach that easily.

LN needs Segwit to work.
LN is Offchain transactions, with instant transfers that will keep the fees for themselves.
(Banking Cartels moving in)

I don't know what sort of BS you've been listening to. But LN is very useful for things like atomic swaps.
So that means instant swapping of Bitcoin to Litecoin in a consumer-friendly manner. Very important if you ask me.

What makes you think that Litecoin will reach 75% easily? In Bitcoin we are struggling to get 30% because people is fucking stupid and they take ages to get with the program and start updating their software, and of course we also have illiterate morons buying the Roger Ver anti segwit propaganda which doesn't help.

It would be cool if Litecoin can bypass all of it being a tiny coin compared to Bitcoin and get segwit going, but im not sure if Litecoin will have sidechains which is a cool feature that will be perfected with segwit.
1710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Price Is At Lowest Point, It Is Time To Buy And Later Sale - Make Profit on: December 20, 2016, 08:04:23 PM
ETH price is on lowest point, it is time to buy and later sale, make good profit. See all info here - https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum/. Am I right or not ?

It mainly depends by bitcoin's behavior because if it goes to ATH and above it's possible to see ETH under 700K sats or less.

Very thought call indeed. You may think ETH is right now at its lowest, and it may look like a good buying point, I dont disagree in principle, but I think it's pretty safe to say that bitcoin is going to experience a new ATH during 2017, and it may go wildly high, more than we can imagine just like last time. If that happens, 2 scenarios are possible:

1) Everyone solds their ETH for more BTC
2) BTC going sky high puts interest in crypto in general and both BTC and ETH go up

Place your bets..
1711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Zcash worth to invest in it? on: December 20, 2016, 07:48:39 PM
we will only know after december. until slow mining ends the price won't stabilize.
The technology itself did not impressed me, but maybe after we find the real price for zcash i could put some money in it.

yes true..after december when price hit 20$ for 1 zcash or even 10...for all i sugest to wait!
The price drop of Zcash is really disappointing , really thought this could compete with the price of bitcoin and with the team they have i thought it will sustain for a longer time, but things are not the same now and the price keeps on dropping like that it is hurting to see my equipment i spend for mining the coins is just a waste.

What did you expect? super inflated initial price and super short supply at the begining. Now the coin is going to keep stagnating for ages. It was a scam that was perpetuated by the usual suspects (Roger Ver, Barry Shillbert etc), it's always the same people pumping crap on Twitter so they can make more BTC off people.

ZCash technology is very interesting, but coin distribution planning is just bad, I dont know what they were thinking.
1712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Maidsafe is future! on: December 20, 2016, 07:38:51 PM
I had a look at maidsafe project, frankly i doubt they will achieve their goals. If they do so, i wonder how the safe websites will work if someone shuts off his computer while lending power and space to the website. The project itself is nice, it would be the born of a new kind of network, like bitcoin and onion did, but still, many questions are pending for answers ...

Simple, multiple copies of the data exist, and when one copy goes offline another is created.

man, maidsafe project is not just a coin..this project is runing from 2006! its so big, they go slow..but when they will go live i hope in next weeks..then its will be huge...we all will love it...big companys will use it when they will see its trusted for use!

Did I read it right 2006 or you just mistype it,if this is true it will be very easy for them to set up adoption since they are already here for ten years, they should have made a lot of loyal customers by now.

Who we are

Started in 2006 by Scottish engineer David Irvine, MaidSafe is a small team, comprised of: thinkers, inventors, tinkerers, PHDs, engineers and designers. Although based in Troon, Scotland, we have drawn talents from many different cultures and countries, reflecting the users that we serve. Despite this variety, we all share a mission: a desire to provide security and privacy for everyone.

https://maidsafe.net/company.html

Maidsafe project is indeed older than bitcoin, but there is a big difference between a project starting and having actual software. As far as I know, maidsafe didn't had any software in 2008 back when bitcoin was initially released in its most ancient version, so i wouldn't say that this is something that's remarkable, it's nice to say "my project is older than bitcoin" but what matters is who had the functional software first and satoshi had it first.
1713  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Convince me that SegWit is necessary on: December 20, 2016, 07:25:24 PM

I haven't heard one good reason to upgrade to SegWit. Just a bunch of nonsense about the network not being able to scale. Seems to be scaling just fine to me....

Is the whole network going to crash if there is a million unconfirmed transactions? I don't think so.

Where did all the SegWit supporters come from all of a sudden? Many users registering in the last month all of a sudden know everything about why Bitcoin needs SegWit.

Well, would you say that all the knowledgeable people (such as Andreas Antonopulos) are randomly saying that segregated witness is a must to be activated before we plan in increasing block size? those guys make a living out of knowing how bitcoin works, if all the best minds in the game agree that segwit is good, there must be something about it right? im not saying blindly believe the experts, do your research, but the fact the experts agree should tell you something already.
1714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can gambling help you with your life? on: December 19, 2016, 01:20:51 PM
Most people don't benefit from gambling, they only lose money. That is if you take gambling as a serious activity you do a lot. If you don't do it a lot and you just go there and have a casual fun session once a month or so, there's nothing wrong with it. You just ave your bets, take your wins of losses, and move on, then you get benefits.
1715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you consider trading as gambling? on: December 19, 2016, 01:17:49 PM
Most traders don't think they are gambling but they are. It is just a different form of gambling, but you are doing something that is requiring a lot of luck to be on your side in order to benefit from all those swings, specially as a day trader.

Long term trading is better, you can predict what will happen, not when.
1716  Economy / Speculation / Re: 778 resistance broken, 779 hit, time to fly!! on: December 19, 2016, 01:09:10 PM
We saw 794.34 dollars in bitstamp a couple of hours ago, this is the new resistance. We tested 794.24 after a 789 dip, now we are sitting at 789.22.. looking good, 2 hour graph looks like a perfect uptrend. 800 before next year before possible, I dont see why not.
1717  Economy / Economics / Re: More demonitization on: December 19, 2016, 01:03:57 PM
Nicolas Maduro which is the president or might i say dictator of Venezuela, said recently that he will let people exchange their money until january 2017, then the ban on the 100 venezuelan dollar thing bills will go in full force which is when we will see some serious shit, so I predict something to happen in january. The Donald Trump election oficially entering in the white house is also a big event to look forward to form arket moves.
1718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POS for BTC? ;) on: December 19, 2016, 12:50:31 PM
PoS has already been disproved and is a disaster. The nothing at stake problem was never fixed, it is always a bigger risk than a 51%+ attack on PoW. PoS will be the nail in the coffin for Ethereum after they go full PoS, we will see that in the next years. There is nothing better than PoW, Satoshi predicted it.
1719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government digital currency! on: December 19, 2016, 12:39:28 PM
I doubt anybody is interested in the crypto currency that created by government, the point of the government want to create its own coin is because the government want to control our transaction, so i still prefer to use bitcoin

Well most people are stupid and they will not even understand whats going on, so they will swallow whatever bullshit the government comes up with. Most people don't even understand the concept of decentralization and centralization, which are basic requirements in order to see a point in using bitcoin beyond speculation.
1720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: December 18, 2016, 06:16:53 PM
It's best that you start an excell spreadsheet and start tracking all of your investments and then compare it to your gains in gambling. Once you have the actual data of your performance then you can guess what is better for you. Some people make really bad investing decisions and ironically they are better off gambling in a casino.
