1721  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 7.5GH 3 Complete Rigs 5970's,5830's, 5870 on: May 31, 2012, 06:37:37 PM
Sale pending to gigavps, all 3 rigs for $2850 not including shipping.
Is that the final offer for the whole farm? Not parting anything out.

I made a mistake and actually do not have 7.5GH currently. I am not selling the 6950 which was factored in or the 5970 that will be going out for RMA.

Getting everything packaged and ready to go, Thanks gigavps for a quick sale!

Should have waited for more bids my man.  I would have gone 3K for all 3 rigs.

The total deal is $3,175 in BTC. There was another 5970 I left out in my calculation.

Maybe next time yochdog!
Good snag, awesome deal, happy mining gigavps!

1726  Economy / Currency exchange / [Canadians!] Canadian Tire Money for Bitcoins exchange! And vice versa! on: May 29, 2012, 10:05:50 PM

Hey!  I am going to start a new service: buy bitcoins with Canadian Tire Money, or buy Canadian Tire Money with bitcoin!

I'm going to set the fee rate at 15%.  This will likely change depending on demand, but I think that is a fair price for this service.  Could go up or down, we'll see.

For a return shipping method, we can go regular 1-stamp mail but I would consider that to be very risky, so perhaps for very small quantities.  For around $10 we can ship it Xpresspost and it will have a tracking number and insurance.  If there is another method you wish to do, or if you want to exchange in person in Winnipeg, MB, that is also ok.

If you are mailing me Canadian Tire Money, then you will receive your bitcoins and will not have to worry about return shipping!

Send me a PM, post in this thread, or email canadiantiremoney@bitcointrading.com if this service interests you.

Canadian Tire Money is as good as money up here in Canada, since you can buy anything at Canadian Tire with it (except tobacco, lotto, and gasoline BUT you can purchase a Canadian Tire gift-card and use that for tobacco, lotto, and gasoline!), and the money will always hold the same value and you can use it to choose from thousands of items from lawn mowers to sports equipment!  Also there are hundreds of locations so you won't have to travel far!

How do you guys thing the k10/k20 tesla's will do. K10 is dual 680's and K20 is big kepler.

Fail again most likely. Nvidia are a bunch of retards for letting AMD and their shitty drivers be the only mining GPUs.
I think the mining community is too small for nVidia to focus on.  Thankfully!  If the whole world was mining the difficulty would be pretty darn hard.
1728  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Need a fan for Sapphire 5830 on: May 29, 2012, 09:41:14 PM
since I have a 5830 here that needed the same treatment, I proceeded to change the fan.  The only 92mm fan I had was an Antec 3-speed, which is allllmost what the 5830 wants but it still got into the 80's so I had to find another fan.. and then I found this tiny little screamin' fan, I think it's like a 2" from a server, and I mounted that on the heatsink array as well and it's doing a great job!  2 fans + an hour of time = problem solved!  I'll post a pic of it as soon as I can.
1729  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Need a fan for Sapphire 5830 on: May 29, 2012, 08:07:27 PM
I have a better solution.  What I did with a 4770 and a 6870 when the fans died, is I took off the plastic shroud (you have to take the whole cooler off) and then reattach the heatsink without the fan, so it's just a big heatsink.  Then you can zip-tie an 80mm or 92mm fan to it, and you'll find the card runs at like 50 degrees now, total upgrade!  And it doesn't cost anything!
1730  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Need a fan for Sapphire 5830 on: May 29, 2012, 08:02:25 PM
28,- for shipping is &%&$&, i pay for a standard shipping from China about 2-3$

So 28$ is absolutely No-Go.
I don't think that's the right fan?  That looks like a reference one.

we need one or two of those as well, i think if we can get an order together we might be able to reduce costs.

Try OperationFabulous.com, you'll probably make more that way, people bid 0.25/0.50/1.00 BTC per day sometimes.

1736  Other / Off-topic / Refilling a laser printer toner cartridge question. on: May 29, 2012, 07:16:33 PM
Hello peoples!

I am thinking about refilling the toner cartridge in my HP Laserjet 1015.  It's a cheap POS but it prints pretty decently.  I was actually going to give it away to a family member but the toner cartridge is empty.

A couple years ago, I bought 4 big bottles of toner for my HP Laserjet 2200 (and a snazzy hole-melting tool), they look something like this: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/6-Toner-Refill-280g-HP-2100-2200-96A-CANON-L-50-L50-FX7-/170482031552?pt=BI_Toner&hash=item27b1855bc0

My 2200 died a horrible, horrible death and now I have four bottles sitting here collecting dust, and a 1015 that needs toner badly.

Do you think it would be ok to put the 2200 toner in the 1015?  I paid like <$5 for the 1015 so if it kills it i'm not overly concerned.

As I type this, I found an eBay auction that offers "universal" toner that would work in both models, mine never said universal in the listing but I have a feeling it is the same stuff.  http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1000g-BULK-BLACK-TONER-REFILL-HP-LASERJET-1100-1020-2100-2200-2300-4000-4100-/190605309613?pt=BI_Toner&hash=item2c60f636ad
