1721  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC on FOX 22: VanZant vs Waterson Prediction and Info Thread on: December 18, 2016, 05:58:41 PM
Paige Vanzant got dominated easily by Waterson, she should have searched for more striking opportunities before going on the floor, I think it was a disappointing performance, she can do better, we will see what's next for her, but she must win next time, otherwise she will retire just like Miesha Tate.

Anyone has a Sage vs Mickey link? I didnt get to see that fight.
Edit: whatever I just found one, im gonna see the fight.
1722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Idea for helping Venezuela using Bitcoin on: December 18, 2016, 05:35:48 PM
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_minimum_wages_by_country

Venezuela minimum wage is 17cents an hour..
no one is gonna pay an hours wage just to transact

bitcoin is no better for Venezuela than common currency. and you can thank your best friend gmaxwell for the fee war to make bitcoin lose its appeal in third world countries.

now do you see the problem of pushing a fee war.

Bitcoin would be useless with a big block size for venezuelans too since the nodes would be too centralized and they would be prone to government control.

The only way to make bitcoin viable in massive scale is lightning network, and for that we need segwit. You can thank those that block segwit for bitcoin not scaling faster.
1723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin is the sleeping giant on: December 18, 2016, 05:26:35 PM
Agreed with this, Litecoin will be the "silver" of the bitcoin.

people have been saying this for ages. other than an empty phrase rolled out regularly, where's the proof of the pudding? i agree that it's certainly one of the least disgusting alts and deserves to piss all over most of them, but money talks and it's not talking to ltc.

Money is talking to LTC  if it were not so, Litecoin would be more than dead. People are mining it because there's still value on it (at least a speculative value)

dude, you can say the same about any crypto...
i dont see a good reason to use LTC, if you want faster transaction there are better coins than LTC.

There's nothing special about Litecoin, other than it has that special aura around it about being the "original alt" and it has that also special view on it where people see it as silver of crypto. Im not sure if this applies at all, it may keep stagnating for life for all we know, but it may pump again..
1724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you like best about bitcoin? on: December 18, 2016, 05:08:21 PM
We can say a lot of positive stuff about bitcoin but the one that makes it so special is that you can send money anytime anywhere and with no wait because the damn bankers are on a holiday or whatever. You can also carry your wealth in between countries flawlessly no matter how much you got.
1725  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin on autopilot mode on: December 18, 2016, 04:52:12 PM
Indeed, all other altcoins already tried their best to take bitcoins throne but ultimately they all failed to deliver what's needed for that.

The rest of fiat currencies are just surviving out of network effect, but they lack the great features that make bitcoin special, they are all deprecated compared to bitcoin. Sooner or later we will shine and everyone holding BTC will find themselves rich.
1726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ◥◣ TALK◥◣ suggested POS coins on: December 17, 2016, 04:27:26 PM
Why isn't NXT even on the list? as far as I remember, back then NXT was teh up and comming "bitcoin killer" with their fancy layout and their new and exciting "POS" system, of course this never was a bitcoin killer but the hype was real and they got the first POS coin i'll give them that, so I wonder why it is not on the list.
1727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC on FOX 22: VanZant vs Waterson Prediction and Info Thread on: December 17, 2016, 04:03:44 PM
Paige VanZant and Sage Northcutt were the poster boys of UFC and they were given a decent push by the company for their looks and fighting ability and both had a loss in their career which dent their plans. Now they are back headlining the show and i hope Paige could win this match,Urijah Faber is my favorite to win the match even though Brad Pickett could knock him out with a punch and the match i am looking for is Sage Northcutt and Mickey Gall , they have their rivalries and egos and let the best man win.

I think Paige can still be the face of UFC if she keeps making good performances, but she cannot take many more loses because you can't make the face of the sport someone with more than a few loses. If Sage loes against Mickey Gall I think they will start promoting Mickey Gall more and try to make him a posterboy since he also got the all american jock look with the ridiculous jaw lol.
1728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any place to gamble IF the Mayweather vs McGregor fight will happen? on: December 17, 2016, 03:51:21 PM
I have a feeling that this will happen. We may never know but would it be possible that Conor and Floyd are really talking with each other privately? Do not forget that both these men are hustlers by heart and they that a fight between them is a big money maker.

All sportsbooks will be glad to lay some lines for this fight. I wish they open with Conor at +800 or something.

I think it's very possible.. they may be have private meetings and doing all this constant calling out and so on just to get more hype and that can only translate in a bigger payday, but make no mistake... they are real competitors, I think they really hate each other for real, Conor is getting a ton of fame lately, Mayweather hates not being the center of attention at all times, and im sure he wants that nice 50-0 record because it looks better than 49-0.
1729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most important criterias of choosing to invest in ICO? on: December 17, 2016, 03:32:28 PM
You should study what amount of ICOs have ended up with a price that's higher than what the ICO sold off at the begining. If im not mistaken, this is a very smart %. This alone shows how lucky you must be to pick up a good deal.

But if you still want to get in a ICO, investigate the project, learn about it, and very important: learn what the total supply of the coins will be. No matter how good a project is, if the inflation is too big, the investment will go down (look at ZCash)
1730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Clif High says Bitcoin is the future on: December 17, 2016, 03:19:40 PM
I have heard rumors that this guy may be Satoshi himself.

He is really smart and has intimate knowledge about Bitcoin, the markets, and the world at large.

Seems like a good candidate.

I have seen some videos of him and I doubt he is satoshi, he doesn't seem to have deep technical knowledge of bitcoin, he understands it well and knows how it works and so on, but not at a technical level, which would be a requirement to be a satoshi proposal.

I still think Adam Back is a potential satoshi, he was credited in the whitepaper. I also think Nick Szabo is still a decent candidate. But Gmaxwell and PWuille are also potential satoshis... we can't know.
1731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government digital currency! on: December 17, 2016, 03:09:57 PM
You should look at a show called "Mr Robot", in season 2 there is an episode whre they talk about bitcoin competing against a government centralized currency called "eCoin" and how bitcoin poses a treat against them because that gives people freedom outside of the control of that governmental issued currency.

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4tcp17_mr-robot-clip-from-s2e11-talking-about-bitcoin_fun

Definitely worth the watch. This series is predicting the future accurately and people will realize this years from now.
1732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fucking Chinese - Part 2 on: December 17, 2016, 02:56:25 PM
What do you suggest that we can do about it? It's not bitcoin's protocol fault that the chinese are lucky enough to be in a position where they get tons of cheap ass electricity. So unless you manipulate the protocol and intervene, it is what it is and we can do nothing about it, unless of course you want to start applying interventionist politics and start regulating the marketcap like I said before.
1733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to win gambling with no lose? on: December 16, 2016, 04:08:53 PM
Simply put, its impossible, you can not predict the outcome of a gamble, that is part of gambling, this is indeed absurd in its core, you will never be able to not lose, losing is a part of gambling that it's inherent, and you should not pretend to change the laws of physics, which include an unavoidable % of losing in bets.
1734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC on FOX 22: VanZant vs Waterson on: December 16, 2016, 04:02:22 PM
@pereira4. Between Sage Northcutt and Mickey Gall who would you choose? I was surprised to see Mickey as the favorite in this fight. He is not a big favorite but I am curious what made him have the advantage among the odds makers.

Mickey Gall is young and he is very hungry for victories and raising to the top, but he lacks the experience of Sage Northcutt. I think it's a very difficult fight to predict. Fighters that are good but have small experience are often overlooked. I think Gall will have a great career, and he has real chances to win, but it's hard to predict. What I see is the guy looks like his jaw is made off cement so I think he can take good punches, not sure about grappling tho.
1735  Economy / Speculation / Re: 778 resistance broken, 779 hit, time to fly!! on: December 16, 2016, 03:48:37 PM
I am expecting bitcoin to break out of $800 at anytime soon. It can be a perfect Christmas gift. Although there are some speculations that in holiday season bitcoin will face some sell off but I think it is not happening this time. Guess we will have to wait and see how things go.

I think that we are going to see 800% before Christmas, we are only a couple of dollars away now, the resistance will be broken and we'll hit 800. 9 days to do until we hit 25th, 9 days is a lot of hours, we can hit a 19 dollar run minutes.
1736  Economy / Speculation / Re: 778 resistance broken, 779 hit, time to fly!! on: December 16, 2016, 03:18:23 PM
A nice dip! Bought some coins the past hours, no we are again to 781 and growing, looking really good, we will end the year with a very nice graphic, ready to start 2017 with a very nice uptrend. The 200 day average is looking fantastic, we are primed towards a big fat price rally, we will smash the last ATH and beyond. 2017 is the real deal.
1737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NOT Upgrading to SegWit who's with me?! on: December 16, 2016, 03:14:35 PM
Again, all experts agree: Segwit before blocksize increase, any other option is stupid. If anyone is listening too people that spend all day on forums talking but not getting anything done, and putting their opinion as more valuable than Andreas and the rest of experts, you are an idiot or you are making money by shilling BU and being anti-segwit and blockstream.
1738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government digital currency! on: December 16, 2016, 02:54:55 PM
It's happens.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/danish-central-bank-to-digitalize-national-currency

Quote
Denmark, a country where its population relies on cash less than most other European nations, is considering digitalizing its national currency. The central bank of Denmark is planning to issue its own Blockchain-based digital currency called e-krone as its reserve currency.

Denmark is the one of bitcoin countries friendly, which it's possible if they create own digital currency.

But there's the flaws for this implementation, it's can same as fiat, centralized, just in digital form.

Your thought?

Governments will never accept bitcoin, they may be neutral towards it at best, but never positive. Maybe in special places like Switzerland they will be positive and officially accept it as national currency, but in most places they will not, they will develop their own closed source crypto that is controlled by NSA. This is why we need segwit fast so we can have all eh privacy features that come with it. Anyone not supporting segwit is a NSA agent by side effect.
1739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to control emotion when you are on crucial part of gambling? on: December 14, 2016, 08:01:35 PM
I would not recommend gambling if you took coffee or any other substances that would make you more prone to taking fast non calculated decisions, so I would only gamble when you are not drinking or doing anything let alone any drugs.

Of course the fun is on casual gambling in vegas with some drinks but some people can't control it.
1740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC on FOX 22: VanZant vs Waterson on: December 14, 2016, 07:43:03 PM
I like Paige Vanzant because he looks like the typical college blonde hottie that you can never imagine that she is into that stuff. I mean that girl would be able to kick your ass and that is pretty weird cause she looks cute.

The Sage Northcutt vs. Mickey Gall will be good to see. Mickey Gall just won the CM Punk fight which was pretty hilarious to see since CM Punk had no idea what to do. Now we will see Mickey Gall against a skilled striker.
