Instead we'll ask everyone who holds Jinn tokens to give us their contact information (we'll need this in preparation for the legal transfer of profit-shares in the near future anyway) where we'll answer more intricate questions, without opening ourselves up for scruitiny from every angle imaginable in public.

Of course it's not an investment, it's a software token.

Please, clarify how a "profit-share" is *NOT* an investment.  How can you honestly sit there and say that people didn't purchase Jinn as an investment when you told them they would be legally transferred "profit-shares"?

No one has 'changed the terms' even once.

IOTA should not be considered a cryptocurrency, even if it may have been described as that by us or others previously.

Really?  If the terms haven't been changed, why is IOTA no longer considered a "cryptocurrency"?
1722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Centralized NXT IS BEING DEAD on: December 03, 2015, 06:38:27 AM
Troll - NXT is not dead. Bitshares, IOTA, etc clone the idea of Nextcoin
Bitshares was born befor NXT. Cheesy

Bitshares PTS was launched after NXT.  Bitshares was originally going to be PoW until they saw the success of NXT's PoS algo and then they altered it into their own corrupt, rigged version called DPoS.  Try again brainiac.
1723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitShares Emancipation Proclamation on: December 03, 2015, 06:34:59 AM
Best to just ignore this troll, every single one of his posts are filled with confused false accusations and strawman argumentation. Sadly he's a pathetic loser without a life who tries his best to fill his days by trying to show that everyone else that is doing something productive is in reality just as unproductive as himself. It's sad, but typical mentally ill behaviour. I will ignore him from now on and let his psychiatrist deal with it.

Don't worry about me.  I'm fine.  Calling anybody who dissents "mentally ill" is a classic propaganda tactic of the communists.  Iotatoken/Triangle/Uniqueorn/David Sonstebo is a raging international communist.
1724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Jinn/IOTA - What is really going on? on: December 02, 2015, 09:46:01 AM
This is an unmoderated thread to discuss Jinn/IOTA and to figure out the truth of what is really happening.

Originally, Jinn assets were sold on the NXT exchange under the premise that they would turn into legal "profit-shares" that would be distributed to the asset holders.

Then it was decided that these Jinn assets wouldn't entitle their holders to a share of the profits, but instead they would be redeemable for a cryptocurrency called IOTAs.

IOTA - JINN SWAP
Quote from: Triangle
We are happy to finally be able to share the details surrounding the JINN to IOTA conversion. The JINN tokens will be locked at the fixed value of 0.0063 BTC, the reasoning behind this is that we offer this conversion primarily for those that did not understand what they bought when they bought JINN. This was the value on the time of the sale and thus ensures that absolutely no one lost anything on their purchase of JINN tokens.

Then, it was declared that IOTA wasn't really a cryptocurrency.

IOTA should also not be considered an investment.  There is absolutely no guarantee that the IOTA that you purchase will increase in value. Instead you need to consider that over time it may decrease in value.

Yes. It's *NOT* an investment.

Why does David/Uniqueorn/Triangle/iotatoken keep changing the terms of the arrangement with investors?  How can he say that people haven't lost anything when what is being given to them, "a non-cryptocurrency, non-investment", is different from what was originally promised, "profit-shares"?

Still angry bro?
1726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitShares Emancipation Proclamation on: December 02, 2015, 07:01:40 AM
The Larimer Gang is now emancipated from their responsibilities to their investors and now free to sell the Bitshares' IP to the highest bidder while liquidating any of their remaining Bitshares to the suckers.  Enjoy watching your Bitshares plummet to zero satoshis.  YEAH! FREEDOM!!!111eleventy
1727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ideas for Iota usecases? on: December 02, 2015, 06:49:57 AM
IoT toothbrushes will be able to sense gum disease, cavities and so on via sensors, not to mention analyse your saliva for things like cancer, while also tracking your brushing. There are plenty of IoT use-cases for toothbrushes.

You obviously have not thought deeply on IoT yet. Any purchased object that is always needed, like a toothbrush, will sense when it is close to needing replacement, then self order. Expect to have IoT capabilities on every can, packet, and bag in every supermarket within 10 years. Who likes grocery shopping?

In what type of make-believe reality do you guys live in?  99.9999% of the people in the world are lucky if they have teeth and can barely afford a regular toothbrush let alone an IoT Toothbrush that detects gum disease, analyzes your saliva for cancer, and reorders replacement heads.

Yet somehow everyone seems to have smartphones?

Come from Beyond is claiming that Iota only requires a 16KB microprocessor to make txs and broadcast. That kind of hardware is dirt cheap.

Come-from-Beyond also claims that he doesn't have a smartphone.  Most people live hand-to-mouth and can barely afford their cellphone bill.  The only reason most people have smartphones is because to function you have to have some type of communication device and they are almost exclusively all that is available for purchase and supported anymore.  There is also a "coolness" factor that has been superimposed upon them by the manufacturers.  Good luck attaching a "coolness" factor to a toothbrush.

What you have here is an international communist (Uniqueorn/David aka Triangle/iotatoken) who is trying to convince everyone to invest (although he claims that "it's *NOT* an investment") in an IoT currency (He also claims that it's not a currency) which will allow the preorder of toothbrush replacement heads for a toothbrush that only the 1% (him and his politburo buddies) can afford to purchase.  In what type of screwed up world does this make sense?

This was most likely during a time when they weren't particularly intending on scamming.

They planned it from the beginning.  They always planned it from the beginning.
1730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ideas for Iota usecases? on: December 01, 2015, 06:05:03 AM

I figured I would make this thread to discuss possible uses for this technology. It is being targeted for release at Christmas, and they seem to be sticking with that deadline.

I have met some IoT entrepreneurs, for example, who have worked on creating wireless IoT toothbrushes. I am thinking that Iota could be perfect for ordering replacements with the simple click of a button. Perhaps the toothbrush could have some charging station, and you can easily order replacement toothpaste, floss, etc. very quickly and efficiently.

I think that there can be some massive profits involved with anyone who sets up a payment gateway to convert Iota on the fly.

Any other ideas?

Inb4 PoB ... Proof-of-Brush

"Wireless IoT toothbrushes"  This is probably the dumbest idea that I've ever heard.

1736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Are you doing something to get crypto coins adopted by the public ? on: November 17, 2015, 07:20:38 AM
However, now I do not put my reputation on the line, with people whose opinions I value, to join in the middle school sandbox that has emerged in this toxic community

Way before i had butt heads with you Spots i had the same conclusion.
When i came here i was not sure i should get involved at all.
and back then compared to now (or the peak of popularity) things got way nastier.

This level of toxicity should be banned in my opinion. For the most part people who want to start using bitcoin don't know really what to do with it after they have acquired them. Much less if they would own any altcoins. This forum would be a perfect gateway for those people. But this shithole has nothing but scammers written everywhere.
I myself have a pretty thick skin for this shit, but it's quite hard for the average person to do anything in cryptoland if every clickbait ends up being a scam. If they're new to being scammed on the internet, then this is pretty shit news for them.

We need to create a community that promotes cryptocurrency without the toxicity and scam that we see here. However that will take atleast 5 years minimum to develop.

Supernet will be destroyed if it leaves NXT.  If I was a SuperNet holder or holder of any of James' assets, I'd be dumping them like crazy.

It would rather be the other way around, if ever. I believe Nxt will suffer more, the api changes have impacted other projects beside SN. I'm happy to hold more assets than Nxt.

Enjoy losing all your money.

The only rational explanation is that you're trying to raise fud about SN in order to buy more assets  Cheesy  SN doesn't need to rely on Nxt api in order to deliver, there are alternatives. For now I enjoy buying more cheap SN assets.

Yes... that's exactly what I'm doing... keep telling yourself that.  Roll Eyes

My face when I heard that Craptsy was insolvent.

But srsly, they've been running a fractional reserve scheme for years.  I can't believe people still use these centralized exchanges.
