1721  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is a part of war now, like it or not on: March 09, 2022, 11:11:05 AM
Lol! No! Crypto has literally nothing to do with the Russia - Ukraine conflict. Just like any other good community, the crypto community is doing their part to help affectes people. That's it!

World's first crypto war - is completely unrelated and makes no sense at all! It's a war to maintain Russia's sovereignty against the NATO and US aggression. Ukraine has now announced that they will not join NATO. Hopefully the war situation will now normalize.
1722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Police can confiscate refugees' valuables. bitcoin not affected... on: March 09, 2022, 05:08:29 AM
The possibility of exception is just another sign of the hypocrisy and racism that exists among European regimes. We still haven't forgotten hundreds of people including children who froze to death outside their borders during the past couple of years because of their country of origin.

Can't agree more! Europeans are by nature racist. There are definitely exceptions but I have seen hardcore racism in countries like Poland and Romania where I had visited them for international process transitions for my employer. In Poland, the trainings used to happen in polish and we used to have an interpreter. But while writing emails, it was always in English which proves the trainer knew English but never chose to speak to make it easier for me and my team.

I am sure not all Europeans are like that, especially in UK and Germany.  But recism and discrimination is real in Europe. Anyone who had visited them from Asia for work purposes, will surely agree with me!
1723  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Stop Accepting Visa & Mastercard Cards in Russia on: March 08, 2022, 04:09:21 PM
Binance will stop the acceptance of visa and mastercards in russia. Does this mean that they do not want the russians to convert their money into crypto or are they planning to completely ban the exchange for the russian users ?

CZ told that this move was not in their control meaning there was external pressure on binance for this action ?

More details:-
Binance To Stop Accepting Mastercard, Visa Cards in Russia

Lol! Visa and Mastercard has banned their services in Russia and that's why Binance has no choice but to reatrict visa and Mastercard for their Russian clients. It's not a choice of Binance, rather it's a part of the ongoing sanctions.

Please change the thread title to correct the perspective. Otherwise it sounds like Binance has banned these all, which is obviously not true!
1724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Police can confiscate refugees' valuables. bitcoin not affected... on: March 08, 2022, 02:58:30 PM
If your context is the current war between Russia and Ukraine, then have a look at the news below,

https://www.thelocal.dk/20220303/danish-government-likely-to-exempt-ukrainians-from-controversial-refugee-jewellery-law/

What you have suggested is definitely helpful for people who don't want to fall prey to such a demonic and inhuman legal provisions. Cryptos can certainly help here!

Cryptocurrencies can be decentralized but centralized exchanges and centralized wallets are not decentralized, only centralized exchanges and wallets is what I are talking about. For people that are using decentralized wallets, there is nothing because the have the control, not the exchanges. But Russians can turn to decentralized means though.

Even from Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao himself saying that cryptocurrencies won’t help evade sanctions.

But from my own perspective, Russia can possibly evade sanctions if they turn towards full decentralization or exchanges refusing to ban Russians from using their respective platforms. Like for instance, mandating all businesses to accept crypto payments by using non-custodial wallets.

No matter what CZ says, it needs to be noted that CZ denied blocking Russian accounts from Binance through a rightful decision. So not sure why he thinks that cryptos can't help Russia evade the sanctions.

Russia can certainly try this. But considering the global sentiment is against Russia right at this moment, it may not be beneficial for them. Their internal economy can be supported by cryptos but the global trade won't go through crypto route.
1726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Ukraine war on: March 08, 2022, 06:29:00 AM
Is the price of gold now increasing? In fact just yesterday I sold gold at a price below when I bought it yet with a discount. But in my opinion, the decline in the price of bitcoin will not last long when the war is in progress. I think that many parties need bitcoin as a means of payment, for example, tools of war, weapons and so on.

Yes, gold price is increasing and silver is also following the same pattern. However, it slightly differs from country to country. It also depends on the form of gold you have used and sold. If you had paper gold, you might have enjoyed the complete price without any making charges. However, if you had physical gold, making charges has been deducted from the final price. That's a common practice, at least in my country.

Bitcoin is definitely a good choice for the people affected by war! But considering its volatile nature and also limited acceptability is probably keeping the people away from it. Rather they are looking into gold and other metals for capital safeguard.
1727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Alts Follows Bitcoin's Fall? on: March 07, 2022, 04:08:51 PM
When bitcoin rises, the altcoins keep the price and if when the bitcoin falls the altcoins fall even more. Why do altcoins usually follow bitcoin?

When the king moves, his sidekicks are supposed to move to the same direction. That's exactly what happens in the crypto market as well. Bitcoin is undoubtedly the king of the crypto market and enjoys the first mover advantage. It's the same thing happening for ETH as well for the smart contract capability.

Don't we have better, faster and cheaper coins available in the market. We definitely have a lot better coins but no one was able to beat bitcoin in any way.
1728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying BTC vs Mining it on: March 07, 2022, 02:26:40 PM
How about this for an improvement: BTC mining vs. BTC possession. Moreover, what is the reason?

In other words, if I had a 40k right now, should I buy a model such as the Antminer L7, for instance? Purchase a single bitcoin, if that is your preference.

With your budget, buying bitcoin is an one time affair. But buying mining rigs will become a recurring expenditure for you. So if you are willing to manage this day to day operations of bitcoin mining, buying mining rigs will be better.

However, if you don't want to go through all thise hassles of bitcoin mining and don't want to pay recurring money towards hige electricity bills, buying bitcoin makes more sense! So there's no straight forward answer available. It all depends on your situation.
1729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and her sisters: Why do most governments hate her? on: March 07, 2022, 07:00:02 AM
Can anyone make digital coins? I don't know. What's its circulation mechanism? And who's her guarantor? I don't know.

That's how a pedestrian says on a street in Cairo, echoing questions that many might think of. But what if governments make these coins? The verse may turn.

In general, most countries in the world deal with popular digital currencies, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

https://www.nwscoin.com/2022/03/bitcoin-and-her-sisters-why-do-most.html

As a government you would also hate things that you can't control. That's the simplest explanation why governments hate digital currencies decentralized in nature. They can't control its creation, its circulation, its usage and moreover they can't track the transactions. So there's no way for the government to love such a technology that takes back the power from their hand and gives it to their citizens. It's no fun for the government and especially the central banks.
1730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Global Bitcoin/crypto debit card project on: March 07, 2022, 05:32:48 AM
Hi i am studding the possibility on launching a global Mastercard crypto debit card, this card is going to be target to countries that don't have access to the popular crypto cards that are available in the US and Europe.

We wonder if anyone outside of the US or Europe would be interested in owning one?

Thanks

From the adaptability perspective, a global crypto debit card will bring in convenience in the entire ecosystem. However, the crypto community is very conscious about KYC and similar things, so to launch a global scale crypto debit card, may not get much traction among the bitcoin puritans.

However, personally it will be a great convenience for me because everytime I want to use my bitcoins, I have to first convert it to fiat and then use it. So if there's is not KYC and the card is prepaid in nature, I would love to use one for my convenience.
1731  Economy / Economics / Re: Regulation seem like the only option left on: March 04, 2022, 06:06:11 PM
Will there ever come a time that the government reaction to crypto will be encouraging for the people? Lately the head if international monetary fund Christine lagarde stated that regulatory action from the international community on crypto is inevitable ..what do you think

Regulation is inevitable! It will come our way sooner or later, but we won't be able to avoid it in any way! Now there is a difference between regulatory action and regulation. Right now, the crypto has reached to a position where regulatory action seems quite unlikely. Rather we will have some sort of framework and regulations available for all of us to adhere to. Definitely it can't have a holistic effect but IMF and international bodies will try to bring as much population as possible within the regulatory framework.

I believe that will be good to some extent for the growth and adaptability of cryptocurrencies in long run. But yes, people may not like regulations around KYC or taxation. But not all regulations are user friendly in it true essence. So we will have to see when it will come. But it is inevitable!
1732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc price controlled by they might satsoshi on: March 04, 2022, 02:20:46 PM
Lol! These kind of statements actually becomes the laughing stock for the community. If I am not wrong, CME group runs a derivative contract that is not backed by physical bitcoins. It just uses bitcoin price as an indicator without actually holding any bitcoins. Greyscale is the one actively invests in bitcoin.

Whenever I see such discussions about Satoshi's identity, I just think of one question - what will you do with Satoshi's identity?

Let's assume, suddenly one day Satoshi makes an appearance with proper proof. What will you do after that?
1733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: According to Bill Miller, the collapse of Russia's currency is good for Bitcoin on: March 04, 2022, 11:35:59 AM

Bill Miller, a billionaire investor, says that Russia would likely turn to Bitcoin to reclaim control of their resources. Western sanctions have now blocked Russia's foreign exchange reserves. Bitcoin is frequently regarded as a superior "digital gold" that can partially or completely replace national currencies.

What are your thoughts and opinions on this? I would love to hear it!

Bitcoin can support Russian economy  - possible!
Bitcoin can replace Rubble - impossible

It is very much possible for Russia is adopt bitcoin post war days to take its economy back in track due to various sanctions. They can even encourage mining activities within their territory to fight the bad times.

But if there is a question of replacing rubble, that's not going to happen! Russia has several resources available that are valuable to the rest of the world. So Russia can simply stop accepting any other currencies except Rubble for any export.
1734  Other / Politics & Society / Re: FIFA and UEFA has suspended Russian Football teams. on: March 04, 2022, 04:31:18 AM
Western countries are eager to impose ban on Russia in whatsoever manner possible! This sports ban is just a part of it! There are obviously many countries who are not willing to play with Russia or keep any association with them at this moment. But do you think Russia deserves this?

If invading to Ukraine is the reason, US should have been banned from the world for invading Iraq and Afghanistan. Look at those countries now, they have completely collapsed due to the aggression from US which was initiated in the name of war against terrorism. Today's Russian attack on Ukraine is happening as NATO wanted to include Ukraine in their group despite not being eligible.
1735  Economy / Economics / Re: Decentralized assets might be the saving grace after the war on: March 03, 2022, 05:59:10 PM
When ever the thoughts of war rings many seems not to look after the effect it will likely play on the economy and the cost of restructuring damaged property even the devaluation of local currencies. It's sad Putin took laws in his hands by invading Ukraine and i guess the outcome now might not be what he actually expected and at the moment where Russia has gotten different sanctions it will be wiser for Russian citizens to switch most of their assets to decentralized cryptocurrencies so they have a link to bounce back to after the war.

Can't disagree! There is a huge possibility for the Russian people switching their savings to alternate investments like Gold or cryptos. We have see buying pressure in the crypto market since last couple of day. While it is impossible for us to guess if the volume is coming from Russia or Ukraine, but people are buying bitcoins for sure. What will happen after the war, only time will tell. But consider the fact that Russia supplies 30% of Europe's natural gas, so it's not as easy as it seems!

Quote
For Ukraine i guess NATO and other world organizations will make donations to help rebuild the nation but for Russia it will be starting up a new economy from what ever is left having tampered most of their reserve to build sophisticated weapons which has served as a treat to other countries who wished to help Ukraine. But i feel the numerous sanctions so far might serve it's own purpose to help curb the attack on Ukraine

# let peace lead
#Putin should consider the lives he has wasted

I don't see NATO entering Ukraine after the war because the chances are very high that Ukraine will become a part of Russia and will be controlled by Russian military. I know this is not the most favorable outcome that we all want, but can't deny the fact that Russia is far more powerful than Ukraine. Also now since US said that they will refrain themselves from the war, it's highly unlikely for Ukraine to get NATO protection. There's a lot to unfold. Please wait and watch!
1736  Economy / Economics / Re: Can current sanctions Ruble inflation stop Russia? on: March 03, 2022, 03:41:46 PM
We can already see the effect of the western countries on Russia. But considering the fact that Russia supplies almost 30% of Europe's natural gas, it won't be easy to break them. Also you will have to consider that Russia is a big exporter of weapons. So no matter whatever sanctions are imposed on them, Russia will find its way out! May not be quick but definitely possible in long term.

A war is unacceptable in 21st century but there are some open questions,

1. Why NATO is interested in including Ukraine into their alliance where Ukraine doesn't meet the eligibility criteria?
2. Wht Ukraine suddenly started demanding 3 billion dollar as rent to gas pipelines going through their country?
3. Why Ukraine suddenly became interested in becoming a EU member after Russia started invading their country?

We are only seeing the one side of the coin. We need to see the other side as well.
1737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are NFT Tokens a Good Long Term Investments? on: March 03, 2022, 02:30:18 PM
Recently I recieved many airdropped from new projects of NFT tokens, Some are in good prices
like BAY and XPUNK, but many other NFT tokens are falling and rugged. But I know mostly of NFTs are based on hyped project,
and no one knows what will be the future of them.
Is it better to trade NFT tokens rather than holding it for longterm?

Don't plan to hold NFT token ever! They are not worth your time! If you can, rather trade on them to make quick money and move out from such token. You are correct in saying that NFT is hype and I agree on the same. The entire NFT market is based on hype so you shouldn't hold any such investments.

If you are thinking of coins that you can hold for long term, head over to CMC and invest in top 10 coins. They are worth holding for longer term.
1738  Economy / Gambling / Re: BustabitWin.com | Crash Game Bonus of 100% of the Deposit Amount 🚀🚀🚀💥💥💥 on: March 03, 2022, 06:31:42 AM
It's a straight forward copycat website of original bustabit in various aspects. The similarities have been pointed out by Logfiles.

Regarding the licensing perspective, I see Bustabitwin is not a part of the licensed Bustabit fraternity which can be checked from the below link,

https://www.bustabit.com/license.txt

Being a frequent player of Bustabit, I wouldn't fall for 100% deposit bonus! Also it seems the admins knew that they are going to get a fair bit of criticism. That's new!
1739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine Will Airdrop NFT in Exchange for Donation on: March 02, 2022, 05:57:00 PM
I get that they were just doing this "airdrop" to try and get everyone in crypto-space to donate but it feels kinda weird to me.
But hey, as long as this helps them to gather more donations, why not. Although I think it would be cool to have an NFT that shows you supported Ukraine in their times of need kinda like a badge. I wonder which chain they would do the airdrop though?
I live in Ukraine, but have not yet heard of donations in cryptocurrency. I am more interested in the situation on the fronts and military reports.
Ukraine has always had a positive attitude towards cryptocurrency, so it is quite possible that it is also used for donations.
In Ukraine, the digitized hryvnia is being launched on the ethereum chain, so I believe that this airdrop will also be on the same chain.
Ukrainians are now successfully resisting the invasion of 120,000 Russian troops. The enemy has not yet captured a single regional center out of 24. The Russians, in anger, are shelling residential areas, deliberately killing women and children. This causes complete unity and an even tougher rebuff to the aggressor.

So do you mean to say that these donation requests are fake and not initiated the your government? Is it possible for you to get a confirmation to the community members? Otherwise the money will go to a scamster and no real help will reach to the people of Ukraine. try to get a confirmation please!

What is happening in your country, is completely unacceptable in 21st century. Such kind of invasion used to happen during middle age and it's a heinous act by Russian military and most prominently, Putin. There is something called Karma and it will be served at the right time.
1740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance is refusing to block Russian customer's crypto wallets. on: March 02, 2022, 05:02:27 PM
Source: https://www.cnbc.com/2022/02/28/binance-will-not-block-russian-accounts-after-ukraine-request.html

Binance is refusing to lock account belonging to Russian customer's, what is your take on this? I believe that this might be a better move due to Russian Citizens that don't desire war still being able to move their Roubles to crypto for safe storage.

If Binance does it, the whole purpose of cryptos will be defeated. Crypto is supposed to provide us with an unrestricted access to our wealth. If Binance blocks access of a particular country, it will earn them a bad reputation.

I am sure Russian common population do not want war so they should not be the sufferers. Also CZ is a Chinese person by origin and China is one of the biggest supporters of Russia. That might be another reason for not taking any action.
