I just closed my long. I believe it's very little upside left, and not worth the risk, better to lock in profits.

I'm shorting when the crash happens with a 3-5% loss.   Cheesy Cheesy

Heading for ATH today ?  Shocked

I was about to say that I thought we were done for the day but looks like the China honey badger just had a quick nap.

I like how they are not letting anyone take profits..  Cheesy Cheesy  ... Very ruthless! Smiley

That is a good thing...

All fine and dandy... you can take your profits, but if you sell and you still want to have some bitcoins, you are going to have to buy back in at a higher price, otherwise you become a fiat baghodler and with fewer bitcoins than you previously had for the same price... ..

Well... exactly! ... I was talking about pulling a fast one on the trades. But in these circumstances anyone that tries to pull something on the trade orders can be left behind holding the wrong bag.  Cheesy Cheesy

Let's see if the weird exchange BTC-E can get over 1000 this time!

Well... it is almost... 1000! ... it was earlier but its not a "stable 1000$".

The times we live in make it hard to move money in some places! .. So I guess $997-998$ will have to do for now! Tongue

*Edit3:  The reason of this stagnation is the dollar getting stronger by 2-3% vs. other currencies. (this is from what I see from the currency exchanges)

Stronger dollar = weaker emerging market currencies (& most other currencies) = generally increasing bitcoin price (especially as Yuan weakens further).

As bitcoins price has really diverged recently from Yuan devaluation line, maybe a bigger deval is coming?

Stronger dollar in a bullish bitcoin run = bitcoin stagnation

Yuan devaluing = bitcoin stagnation

Clear? Smiley

I'm not sure if you are agreeing here or not. It's early here.

Are you saying bitcoin stagnated briefly because the dollar strengthened 2-3% vs other currencies?

I see it differently. The stronger dollar trend gives anyone holding another currency incentive to move out of their domestic currency and into something that holds value, appreciates as their currency devalues. This has been in play for a while and has contributed to bitcoins bull run. In saying that bitcoin price increases led by China usually precede a devaluation so maybe that is what you are getting at?

Yes... but only that currency grows in price per bitcoin. The dollar remains unchanged against bitcoin... But when the dollar devalues back, bitcoin gets the value from the other countries currencies (that was lost or regained), because bitcoin has more emotional energy and is praised more valuable than normal currencies. So if the market can hold the price after the pump and dump of the US dollar for example, then bitcoin will win in price a small percent.

Hmm...  But....  An asset denominated in an appreciating currency, is surely attractive to someone in a currency that is depreciating or expected to depreciate against it.

When GBP went down after Brexit, my BTC were worth far more

Yes... because GBP was versus all global currencies. But bitcoin is somehow versus all as well. (including precious metals as well)
And when the rest of currencies grew, bitcoin got boosted too!

But mainly BTCiTcoin is valued against dollar/euro and pixie dust. Cheesy Cheesy ... And usually if the dollar gets pumped while bitcoin rises, then bitcoin stagnates (goes sideways)... And if bitcoin suffers a correction or a bear market trend when the dollar gets stronger, then the bitcoin dip accelerates. But!.. the thing is that bitcoin has more emotional value, and it depreciates lesser than it should against the dollar. But... another thing that has not really happened yet, is that the west prices will go higher for bitcoin when the yuan asserts dominance or market majority. Meaning that the yuan will have more influence or bitcoin will be more pegged to the yuan than the US dollar, and when that happens... Well ppl in China will be tempted to draw US dollars or euro's from the West and bring it back in China as "investment money" that is tax exempted by their government, but it will be at a profit margin. But for now the China bitcoin price is higher because the West has enough bitcoins and they are trading from their own resources/stashes. But when those reserves will dry out... you will see the West going wild with 100-150$ over China. And usually China is more bullish and will make competition, and this will be just madness that will go for thousands and thousands of bitcoin till they get that $100-150$ spread.

@savetherainforest - 'Bitcoin will always go 10x in value every 4-5 years'

I damn sure hope you're right with that prediction buddy.

Probably... But... I am not sure it will be an exact 10x ( or 1000% ), and I think there will be a law of diminishing returns working against that. So it will probably be from last time 10x, the next one will be 8x or 7x from the previous ATH, then it will be 6x or 5x, and so on and so forth ... But it is still uncertain if it wont go the other way! Meaning it could be 11x or 12x, then 16x or 17x.. etc. Smiley

Yaaaayyyy!!! ... OMG!!! We are having correction...  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes

Or this is the beginning of another year long bear market. Remember that? Imagine.

Nope!!! ... I was right and you where wrong!   Roll Eyes

*Edit:  Btw... there is no such thing in BTCitcoin as "bear market" ... that is just nonsense! Bitcoin will always go 10x in value every 4-5 years.  Sad

Someone just dumbed 700 BTC on stamp to force the price from $1023 to $999, and then the price is already back to $1010, and no one else seems to be following (on Stamp or other exchanges)

Huge dump (for them) on Stamp and the other exchanges barely dip. Already most of the way back up.

Looks like some desperate bear just lost money with a ploy that didn't work.

Bitcoin Bozo. You can knock him down but he bounces right back up.

Very bullish.

Reminds me of this... I had like just 2-3 of them round on the bottom and kept getting up if you tried to push them on their sides. And I guess the biggest one would be BTCiTcoin and the rest are the alt-coins.

Hail Matryoshka! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Some people said the price woud drop when it passed the $1000..instead it's holding strong.

We're going up much more!

The correction has already happened...

And now we are going somewhere very high... especially since China is so f^cking ruthless. ( everything seems to be bought out on a upwards trend... just like a f^cking accumulation Smiley )

But the next correction will be after 1500+ ... somewhere between $1500-2000$. (this month or next)

*Edit: And by correction I mean there will be a period of going sideways and hodling.

*Edit2: And the real correction will be very strange after 2000+ ... between $2000 - 3500$ ... when some people will decide to just bail on their bitcoin for a period of time or for good. And then after it recovers back... it will probably just try to find some stability and grow like 1-2k per month till it goes to 30-40k.

MUST WATCH FOR EVERY CRYPTO ENTHUSIAST WHO WANTS TO KNOW WHERE BITCOIN IS HEADING IN 2017
News URL : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVAI07f-5M0

Just skimmed through it.  He predicts $600/oz silver in 2017, heh.  Didn't see his BTC estimate, just said "higher".

He said BTCiTcoin would be "80808" in dollars or yuan! But not exactly with a specific timeline. And he also said gold will be 20.000$ when the DOW will be 120k (120.000)

Looks like he stole my numbers for monetary reset.  Same value for gold, same value for silver, and same value for Bitcoin because I said Bitcoin will likely get stuck in the $10k-$20k range without either widespread usage and deployment of LN or a block size increase.  So that would be around a 17x for gold, 10x for BTC, and 38x for silver.  Bitcoin will perform better as an "emerging technology" until that event occurs, though.

Well... as I said before.. and I explained my prediction: "The countries with the best internet infrastructure will be first."  ... Meaning that those countries will develop BTCiTcoin based businesses and will probably expand their wealth to the other neighboring countries.

Btw... I see many news sites having their "bitcoin news" on their front page! Cheesy Cheesy ... This will go high AF!  Cheesy

But he might be right since he got the last time right the part when he said 408, then 448, then 408 again then 428... something like that nonsense... Smiley

And the "80808"  .. them chinese will probably be emotional attached to those numbers. And the dollar would probably be devalued 300% from the current value. The same goes for the yuan, since they must maintain a competitiveness between currencies with the trading system to balance the imports/exports.

Because as you may know a strong dollar means more exports for China, and a weak one would mean less. So the Yuan needs to be at 1-5% divergence pegged to the dollar if they want to maintain the same number of jobs for the population, the same productivity and economic growth. But, this will be probably till China finds a bigger fish to sell their stuff too, or they will go through an "Ethic Revolution", where they are not forced to sell "cheap fast goods", but move in to more expensive with a higher added value production. I mean.. for example I wish I could buy some leather steampunk chinese handcrafter wardrobe... because reasons when I want to look like an asshole for Halloween or at fancy parties or ball room masked parties.

Fun stuff!!!  Cheesy  Cheesy ... Also China announce some big infrastructure thingy, developing new train, highways, electricity grids... (hmm... maybe high speed internet optics as well??)
