As Gold is a centralized commodity whereas Bitcoins aren't. No one really knows the real value of Bitcoins, time will decide taking into consideration many factors which will affect the economy of Bitcoins.

I would say bitcoin is more centralised than gold.

Mining is now centralised.

There are also few whales out there that hold a large % of the coins

Is Donald Trump A Racist or a Bigot?

The answer is it doesnt matter, the reason Donald has achieved so much success is that the majority of America is sick to death of being pushed around by the minority.  Getting called racist if you dare object to latest Islamic/minority demands, constantly chipping away at the Amercian way of life.

Donald Trump is the personification of a majority of people that are now saying enough is enough, get into line or go back from where you came.

Poke the sleeping bear too much and sooner or later your going to get your ass handed to you.

And its not just America, the whole of Europe is beginning to stir and say enough is enough, close the borders and ship the rapefugees back to the shit hole they came from.

The time for sympathy past when you were welcomed then decided to rape and rob the local population.

1725  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] a lot of 1oz Minted Gold Bars (PAMP) on: April 16, 2016, 04:51:48 PM
I highly recommend using escrow and getting these bars tested before releasing payment. Fake 1oz gold Pamp bars are abundant and widely available from China.

agree, although the op seems well established here

His trust has an indication that this may be a sold account.  I don't see any real proof that this is true, but any potential buyers should be aware of this possibility.

Good call.
1726  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: April 16, 2016, 04:46:25 PM

Yes I accept that, gold can't be taken by you wherever you go but you can do that with bitcoin. Similarly gold can be stolen, but bitcoin is secured, so I pick bitcoin.

And how many bitcoin have been lost to hackers (personal and exchanges)

How many have been defrauded here - check the scam accusation thread.

Find me a gold stackers forum with a scam thread anything like here - bet you cant.

There will always be far less burgulars in your local area looking to rob you than a world of hackers hiding behind a keyboard itching to steal your wallet.

hard to choose. realistically speaking, no investment is ever 100% secure. maybe i'll just convert half to gold and half to bitcoin.  Grin

with gold most people know that you won't have any outrageous profits. with bitcoin you can. especially if you have enough patience to keep holding your coins for several years. that's why i always prefer bitcoin over any other kind of investments. i know my trust in bitcoin will pay off greatly at some point in the future. the only thing i have to do is holding. easy.

But for each chance of an outrageous profit there is an equal chance of an outrageous loss.

If things were a dead cert like some on this forum like to make out then every hedge fund and large investor would be ploughing in billions of $.
1731  Economy / Auctions / Re: thug life on: April 15, 2016, 09:26:13 PM
Around 13 btc for 3 $100 bills, wow.  These are really nice but my range was way lower.  Wish he made more so they could go for a little cheaper...   Undecided   either way beautiful pieces

Dont worry they will soon come when the seller realises what a killing he's made off the original 3.

Expect some different valued notes and 3 butthurt initial buyers  Tongue

1733  Economy / Collectibles / Re: BIG silver coin trade! on: April 15, 2016, 03:38:56 PM
precious metals are always measured in troy oz (unless using metric or tolas),

1 troy oz = 31.1g

there are just over 32 troy oz to a kg.

Doesnt really matter, its 1 kg of 999 silver Wink

The world looks to the States to help police the world and in doing so allow America to have more say and power over issues. Right or wrong turning away would be very bad for them, its already showing cracks.
Besides it was just a practice flight. Cheesy

America likes to act like the world police confiscating gold and natural resources as you go.

1736  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: April 14, 2016, 12:10:09 PM
Have you tried stock trading? I've heard many people getting a lot of profit from doing it.

What this has to do with the topic?

BTW.. if you are interested, then you can try gold trading using the stock exchanges. There are two options. The first one is the ETF (Exchange Traded Fund), which is also known as "paper gold". The second option is to trade in gold futures and options (F&O), but I should warn you that it is a very risky option.

Not a fan of ETF's, you are only trading promises not actual metal.

At least with bullionvault you are trading allocated gold and can take delivery of the physical metal if you choose.
1737  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: April 14, 2016, 06:43:37 AM
Since im new into investing and bitcoin is somehow easy for me to deal with and bitcoin has a faster pace when it comes to trading.

You should check out bullionvault if you like trading -

Gold can be made from brown beer bottle glass in a microwave. People have been doing it for years now. The electrons change the glass into gold and other precious metals. Some companies and governments probably makes tons of gold this way secretly. Then they tell you it's rare which is a lie. Precious metals are a scam.

Bitcoin will also fail in a few years IMO.

Retard.

Glass is made from silica, gold is an element.

Every day the movie Idiocracy becomes closer to reality.

Bet you also think we live on a flat earth too  Grin

Calling me a retard doesn't negate reality.

Proof of the process: making gold from glass...

https://youtu.be/ISeusr6H2Rc

The guy to first figured it out burned through 600 regular store bought microwaves. He was a PhD in engineering and chemistry and devoted his life to it.

But he is not turning glass in to gold, he is extracting tiny amounts of gold held within the glass - there is a big difference (notice the microscope shot of the gold he has managed to recover from a shit load of glass)

They are also able to extract gold from sea water and human shit (I shit you not)

The big catch is that none of the above methods are any where near cost effective.

The guy claims to be able to turn glass into gold with high industrial yields but is posting vids on ebay begging for funding - he would fit right in to lending section on this forum lol  Roll Eyes

p.s. here is the follow up vid with process refined :

Maybe you are right, it's your money and of course you can do with them whatever you want but as you know the price of gold is not that stable too. In fact it has dropped more than 25% since January 2013.

And bitcoin has dropped more than 65% since Nov 2013, you forgot to mention that Wink

At least gold is up 17% Y2D

you forgot that gold has droped 40% since its last ath, so no gold is in negative right now compared to its all time high

Gold is doing 25% better than bitcoin then Wink
