964  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is science a religion? on: February 19, 2017, 08:29:34 PM
But big bang is something that has not been proven to exist. Because of the kind of thing it would be, it probably will never be proven. But, even if it were prove possible, if can never be proven to be the thing that started the universe.

According to the definition of "religion" - http://www.dictionary.com/browse/religion?s=t - everyone has religion, even atheists. For the atheists, atheism is their religion.

Cool

But the "Big bang theory" is a scientific theory, scientists are constantly looking for evidence to support or disprove the theory and look for alternatives.

You dont hear the religious state "the God theory" or "Jesus theory", you just blindly accept what is written in an old book and never look for validation.

Science has created modern society not religion and as more people become educated those that follow religion continue to fall away.

Every bank on this planet has been found guilty of money laundering, fraud, mis-selling products.

So WU are not alone.
966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [KMD] Komodo speculation on: February 19, 2017, 07:29:57 PM
This was first ICO that didnt make me profit and was not a scam.
The only reason for constant price of KMD is the ability for BTCD holders to swap their BTCD to KMD for next one year. They should have limited this time period to 3-4 month max.  Angry

Price may keep stalling around ICO price for whole 2017.

Except over 80% of BTCD has already been swapped I believe.  Can't see the process dragging out that much longer.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1504342.msg17259034#msg17259034

for BadAss.Sx everybody is an asshole and scammers

He goes to forum to make a coin to dump so he can buy cheap, that's why he is doing with Dubai coin, see below

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1512202.msg17138757#msg17138757

BadAss.Sx know this coin will go over $1 and want to buy cheap, he is a trader fuder he can not prove this coin is a scam, then he will sell all his Dubai coin when reaching $1, but he wants to buy now cheaper.

He can not bring any evidence of this great coin and project be amazing and will take the world by surprise in a few days

Why not have the balls to post with your real account instead of some just joined shill account?

970  Economy / Collectibles / ART - Mighty Mo - London Stock Artist Proof 1/1 (red) on: February 18, 2017, 09:04:19 PM
Up for sale is my Mighty Mo - London Stock, Artist Proof 1/1 edition in red

Who is Mighty Mo?
Quote
Mighty Mo spent his early years as a Street Artist, covering walls across North London with his trademark monkey motif.

Today the artist also works across East London, alongside fellow Nelly Duff residents Sweet Toof or Cyclops, and exhibits worldwide.

Reason for sale is that it doesn't really fit in with the rest of my pieces.

Wow. So next Friday I can expect my Komodo to be paid out? Um, that's pretty unacceptable. Why the delay? I would think it would be easy to do payouts in batch once a day. Even the most basic companies can do payouts in batch on a nightly basis. I know. I used to work for one. I'm assuming you're just trying to prevent dumping?

Pay outs were done more frequently initially but as the claim volume has dropped the frequency of payouts has reduced.

If it was done to prevent dumping the initial payout frequency would be lower.

are you implying that gold is more rare than bitcoin? can gold be lost like bitcoin to make it more rare? gold is completely mined, bitcoin is not and will take other 100+ years to finish, bitcoin don't occupy any space can be put in a usb stick, in fact you can store 20B, the marketcap of bitcoin, of value in a usb if you had all the btc, all this make bitcoin a better choice for me

Dont even know where top start on this post.

Are you implying that gold is more rare than bitcoin?

Bitcoin - Made up of infinitely divisible numbers with lines of open sourced code that can be copied and changed overtime.  If bitcoin achieved mainstream adoption and the devs decided to increase the bitcoin supply they can do so with a few key strokes, 21 million coins available today could be 100 million tomorrow.  You may say this will never happen but you have no control over it!

Diamonds: made from the 6th most common element in the universe and readily manufactured for industrial use.

Gold: Produced in supernova nucleosynthesis from the collision of neutron stars.

Can gold be lost to make it more rare?
Yes, shipwrecks containing tonnes of gold over the centuries have been lost, non recycled electronic goods, non recoverable satelites etc all reduce available gold.  And before you say these could be potentially be recovered then in theory so could lost bitcoin if the private key was generated.

Gold is completely mined, bitcoin is not and will take other 100+ years to finish.
Gold is not completely mined as there are gold mines currently operating.  Gold will continue to be mined long after the last bitcoin has been mined.

Bitcoin don't occupy any space can be put in a usb stick
Directly maybe, indirectly bitcoin takes a huge amount of space due the infrastructure required for it to operate.  Power grids, servers, internet, mining hardware etc.

975  Economy / Economics / Re: Visualising Gold's Value And Rarity V bitcoin & others on: February 18, 2017, 10:12:05 AM
You can't accurately estimate the total gold mined in human history since there are much of gold hidden in people's vaults or as treasure buried.
There is at least 2 times more gold than in those pictures mentioned.

You have no data to back that statement up and just plucked a figure from the air.

Spotted this on Zerohedge and thought it was a great vizualisation :

With all that value coming from such a small package, sometimes it is hard to put gold’s immense worth into context.

The following 11 images help to capture this about gold, putting things into better perspective.

1. The U.S. median income, as a gold cube, easily fits in the palm of your hand.

U.S. Median Income as a Gold Cube

2. A gold cube worth $1 million, has sides that are 2/3 the length of a typical banknote.

3. All gold used for electrical connections in the Columbia Space Shuttle would be worth $1.6 million today.

4. Trump’s entire fortune of $3.7 billion as a gold cube would be shorter than Trump himself.

5. As a gold cube, the entire value of the Bitcoin market would fit in a hallway.

6. The fortune of the richest man on Earth, Bill Gates, would take up a single traffic lane.

7. The world’s entire annual production of gold is just a 5.5m sided (18 ft) cube.

8. Take the 147.3 million oz of gold out of Fort Knox, and it’s only slightly bigger.

9. All gold held by the Central Banks pales in comparison to the Brandenburg Gate.

10. All gold mined in human history is dwarfed by the Statue of Liberty.

11. To pay off $63 trillion of global sovereign debt, you’d need a gold cube the size of a building.
