Perhaps Satoshi saw something that he had not anticipated and realizing what was coming, he panicked and decided to leave.
I'm still a noob, but could you give a reason why Satoshi would have panicked over not anticipating mining pools? Are you saying 51% attack stuff or something else?

What i really enjoy about the responses in this thread is that many answers do not work for a prepaid visa.
Very annoying.

In my honest opinion alternate cryptocurrencies are a joke because a new cryptocurrency gets created every week.
A few months back new altcoins were being created every other day. Big slow down since BTC has gone down in price.

I have seen it some times but I have never known why that happens
Agreed. I have seen this with Blockchain.info's blockexplorer as well. Its either an error with the block explorer, or the block was actually found first, but transmitted through the network in a weird way, thus late.. But I really don't know.

just try localbitcoins my bro
That wont work if he received the card as a gift. Most people on Localbitcoins want pictures of the receipt, paid in cash, not credit or debit. I haven't tried it yet, but this might help. They transfer to BTC address but with a 19% fee though. Worth checking out if you didn't buy the gift card yourself. https://giftcarddrainer.com/

It's a Poisson process, with a mean of 10 minutes. So... What is the probability that the next block will be found within 10 minutes from now?
63.212% Or within 1 minute?
9.516% Or 10 seconds?
1.653% Or 1 second?
0.167%

SCAM INCOMING I can't find a 201 North Street in Washington, D.C. on Google maps. If you put your BTC in those "shorter addresses", something tells me they are pretty much stolen. Humm... no one can steal your coins by only putting your public key into the service.. but the scam part is not the shortener part.. its the other feature, the address generator.. DO NOT make a new privkey/public key using their site. and definetly do not put funds into the privkey generated using their site.. I meant if you put your BTC in their address generated shorter addresses.

Great work, Kai Chang, Mary Becica and Stamen Design!
BTW: USER #1 is one of two Mt.Gox accounts that were trading. Interesting.

Marty McFly: [Doc has just been shot. Marty runs over to him] Doc! Doc!
Marty McFly: [Marty turns Doc's body over to reveal it is apparently bullet-ridden and lifeless. Marty begins to cry] No! No!
Marty McFly: [Doc suddenly blinks and sits up] You're alive.
Marty McFly: [Doc unzips his radiation suit to reveal a bulletproof vest underneath] Bulletproof vest? How did you know? I never got a chance to tell you.
Marty McFly: [Doc smiles and removes a weathered piece of paper from his pocket. Marty unfolds the paper to reveal it is a bitcoin paper wallet he had loaded up with 20,000 btc from 2010, taped back together] What about all that talk about screwing up future events? The space-time continuum?
Dr. Emmett Brown: Well, I figured, what the hell?
