1741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People are not only gambling to win but they are buying entertainment on: July 14, 2022, 09:03:04 PM
Yeah, this is what gambling is all about. It's a form of entertainment that you have to pay to enjoy. You pay for all those adrenaline rush. The more you pay the more you can enjoy. The profits are something like "rewards" for lucky players. One of the most expensive form of entertainment to be honest. Unfortunately, people (like any other things) can get addicted to this entertainment and might end up spending everything on it.

The reason for that is because most people are not looking in the same angle where gambling was created for entertainment, you pay for that entertainment you want just like other things but gambling is rather the most expensive thing to be entertained. If that will be the sole purpose of it then I bet these people will be just fine if they are only looking for entertainment but we cannot really deny that there's these other people that is looking the gambling activities as a way to generate income.
1742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons why people avoid KYC in gambling casino ? on: July 14, 2022, 08:39:17 PM
chances are they will persist and be willing to do anything because of their previous belief they are already safe with the site. but this will certainly be a pros and cons later if the gambling platform enforces kyc. well at least 10% of active players will probably opt out first to consider having to do kyc.

I think if that time comes, other popular and reputable gambling sites are also having a mandatory KYC.

Therefore that 10% might stay and won't probably be out of that said site. Imagine that a site with the big name already enforced KYC means that the regulations on most crypto gambling sites are now strictly implemented. For me, it's not that really a big deal if things turned out like that since nothing we can do in the first place.

But as much as possible, the KYC should not be forced to be strict at crypto-gambling sites since the no-KYC is one of the big reasons why we choose to play here.

Certainly that is the same reason why we chose to play at these sites but I'm afraid that sooner, the authorities will put more pressure into these sites to enforce and implement strict KYC even before we decide to withdraw out funds. I can see that these sites will start to ask our information up front while we are trying to register on their platform.
If that will be the case, then for sure there will be lots of gamblers who will opt to the most trusted and reputable sites.
1743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you guys invest meme coins now? on: July 14, 2022, 07:02:20 PM
It makes no sense...
Why I should, in fact, the reason I come and invest crypto is to make money, not to lose it. If you are aware of their background OP, you can also tell yourself why?

Though Shiba Inu has in good business already but being known as a meme coin, that can be uncertain thinking for a long-term investment. That can't be considered as the potential coin as sooner or later, that can be like other meme coins IMO.
Well, some meme coins have been giving good fortune for those who take risk investing in them, but all those things are just temporary. The reason why we are here in crypto is to look for long term investments, and meme coins are simply exclusions. I hope OP you are not only here for quick rich stories, but because you have faith and patience that long term investments like bitcoin and established altcoins will paid off in the end.

Threads like these and asking about memecoins are frequently popping into the discussions every now and then, these coins are classified as sh*t coins because they don't have any utiliity and use after all. Those people who had been riding with the hype last time are somehow lucky because they got what they wanted but for the others who unfortunately lost the investment because they rode the wrong bus that time.
I get that these coins are still counted by others in their portfolio, but personally, I'm taking a safe distance because the risk is just too much to bear especially when we have Elon trying to manipulate it.
1744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You See Or Tell If A Fight Or Event Is Fix ? on: July 13, 2022, 09:37:44 PM
It could be on basketball, boxing or horse racing, or any kind of sport, after being in a particular sport for many years can you see or tell if a fight or event is fixed, there are upsets but in the back of our minds, there's a possibility that the match or game is fixed.

Yes, I can assume that a match is fixed based on the performance of the team especially if it happens to be a well-known team with good players playing against a team that has fewer quality players or a team that is in poor form. Using football as an example, when a big team with an odd of 1.20  is playing against a smaller team that has an odd of 30.25 is playing a football match when the big team is having all the possessions when the team has created so many goals scoring chances but fails to put any goal at the back of the net even when the team is awarded a penalty, it is obvious that the game is fixed to end as a draw since the small club can not score.
It's hard to spot if a game is fix to be honest, there a ways to fix a game, it's not only on intentionally losing the game but point and total shaving is very popular in sports betting, however, it's not proven so if you are a bettor, you have to be clever when putting a bet, stay away from the public favorites.

That will depend if the favorite is likely to be the winner and the chance of other party to win is somehow smaller than the favorite, either way, we will likely have some analysis and nearest speculation of the actual result but that won't determine our success because as you've said, there this other factor called point shaving and intentional losing.
1745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 13, 2022, 09:15:05 PM

Yeah, but there also an issue before that. He was already asking for a max contract right after they given CP3 his own at 21-22 season. I think that's when the problem started with the Ayton relationship with management and coaching staff.
Who would not ask for it? They are the Western Champions and fought for the Finals, he might have thought there should be perks on what they achieved but it was not awarded.
I have no doubts this big guy will play at his best if only offered the contract that he wants. He may just want security for himself.

Yes, considering his contributions way back and how he really does his best to help the team.

But on the business side, I can only say that Suns management is also considering other possibilities before they can give
that offer. The problem already smoke out and the relationship is no longer good, letting go Ayton and let him get the desire
contract will also allow Suns to hire new replacement.

There's a team that will go after Ayton, he is one of the top 10 big men in the NBA, and with his good shooting range, I think he will be a very valuable asset. IMO, he is deserving for a max contract, if Suns could not give that, then there's no reason for him to stay.

No doubt, Deandre Ayton will be an additional and valuable asset to any team he goes into and he deserves a team that will give and feel him valuable. So, if the Phoenix Suns are going to let Ayton go then I can say that it's their loss and I doubt they can get a good replacement for Ayton this coming season. Maybe in the next years but not now.

I've also read an article earlier that Ayton is still looking for another options aside from the fact that we had now and if the Pacers can't give him a 4-year contract then Ayton will still remain as a Suns.
1746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for a crypto that won't depend on BTC anymore on: July 11, 2022, 12:18:57 PM
The majority of investors and traders are increasingly understanding crypto fundamentals before investing, is there any crypto that moves itself according to its fundamentals both now and in the future?
I think the entire market depends on the movement of bitcoin, and there's no altcoin that can move the other way and will not follow the market sentiment. As long as people are investing, and trading, the market will remain volatile and since bitcoin is the strongest asset, it will always take the lead due to its high dominance ratio.

As of now, the dominant rate of bitcoin is high again, it's currently 42%, while the total altcoins have 58%.

It's what people think about the future of bitcoin.

If it's only due to real demand, then the price is already stable now.
look at the price movement of bitcoin, it's very volatile, that's because it's an speculative asset and we are not yet in the stage that real big demand is happening.
1748  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you regret buying before the dip on: July 11, 2022, 08:25:50 AM

A quick question for anyone here who purchased bitcoins say on June 9th just before the unexpected dip began? Do you regret your decisions and are you confident that bitcoins will bounce back?

Well, if I intend to trade it short term, I might regret it a bit but if I will hold it for the long term, I would never think of regretting it as bitcoin is still cheap since it's lower than its ATH. Based on its history, it will always bounce back and will create a new ATH, so what we have to do now is stay patient and take advantage of the cheap price as it does not happen all the time, who knows, it might be the lowest dip this year.
1749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: July 11, 2022, 07:17:10 AM
I'm not a hater but even though he won via knockout against Ceja before. I'm not impressed with his performance in that fight. Now, he shouldn't have aimed for a KO against Vargas or maybe should have focus on getting points until half or more than half of the match before aiming for KO. Also, he should improve his stamina. He isn't old yet. Sure he can get back to his best form.

I was also not impressed with his performance against Ceja. Magsayo has never been very good in making points. He has a powerful punch though. But if that punch fails to deliver him a knockout, he is facing the risk of being outpointed and lost. When Magsayo finished that fight against Ceja by knockout, he was actually losing in points in all of the judges' scorecards.

This is the same with his match against Vargas. The only difference is that Vargas wasn't knocked out.

Lack of follow-up on his side, he should go for the KO when Vargas knocked down but he did not give everything as if he was leading in the scoring. Magsayo has to learn how to finish a fight, he should follow the style of Inoue that once he saw his opponent get hurt, he will use the opportunity to finish the opponent.
1750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 11, 2022, 06:26:41 AM
Wiseman looking good for the Warriors in summer league. He’s blocking shots, catching alley oops and creating and draining his own 3’s. He’s looking like he may fill a need for the Warriors next year if he can stay healthy. Scary that they won it all without their best prospect. They might be an even better team next year.

And they still have Kuminga and Moody, bright prospect as they have the experience from last year's champion ship run. And then Wiseman being healthy, and their steal drafts with so much potential, young team plus their core, yeah, could be a more dangerous GSW team and the league should take notice of this. And even though they have lost so much of their second unit specially Payton Jr, someone will have to fill it up with this young guys at their 20's, and it's scary.
We've seen how the Warriors management develop their players and if these 3 will develop more in the future and will be an all-star then we will see a next generation "Big three" of the Warriors.

Wiseman has potential but his injuries hinders him to unleash his full potential on the court. I just hope that he will be more healthy next season so he can contribute to the team. Kuminga is an athletic player and many believe that he has a bright future with the Warriors and it's the same with Moody. Overall, the future of the Warriors is bright and we might include Poole and Wiggins in the conversation if they will not be traded.

They won't be traded if the Warriors area already satisfied with the current roster, maybe there will be some trade that's going to happen but I'm pretty sure it does not involve moving a lot of players or we can say that it's manageable by the organization and that they'll be able to keep the most important players particularly the big 3.
1751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 10, 2022, 09:01:01 PM
They should just invest in younger stars that could be a potential asset to the team in the few years to come while LeBron James is there to teach the younger generations because 2 to 3 years from now, LBJ will eventually retire and leave the team.

They already did. Count the seasons where they surround Kobe with young stars until retirement. They let these young guys control the Lakers after Kobe's retirement and still what happened? Totally a failed investment and guess what, they only made the playoffs when Lebron James came to them.

Because that's what happened, the Lakers shift strategy by involving big names on their roster as the young lineup didn't work for several seasons.

The Lakers are not building a super team but if those big names show interest in playing with the team, why should they hesitate to work on that?

So should they stop on investing on young assets that could potentially make the team dangerous in the years to come? Of course, that's why it's called investment because it's not a guarantee that they would bloom and will make the LA Lakers a heavy team. That is also why I've said that they should invest now while LBJ is still in there team to guide and teach the new generations.

It's already proven that a bunch of post-prime players aren't going to make it, hype will just surround them at the start but eventually it will be a big mistake. 1 or 2 star players will suffice and others will be a role/support player.
1752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: July 10, 2022, 07:31:48 PM
There is only one reason to explain that, Canelo Alvarez cannot really afford to have an additional defeat in his record that is why he denied GGG a trilogy last 2019 when it was first proposed. Sure the jury will be on his side trying to cover and help him in terms of score just like what they did recently against Bivol, but what if Canelo will be knocked out? I don't think the jury can still help him if that is the situation.

LOL.. the easiest way for Golovkin to win would be to knockout Canelo. But the big question is whether he can do it at this age. If it gets to decision by the jury, then it is going to be tricky for GGG. And the indications are not very encouraging. Even during the fight between Canelo and Bivol, there were accusation of bias from the judges (obviously favoring Canelo). Anyway, at this point Golovkin doesn't have much to lose, and in all probability he will not make much noise even if he is not satisfied with the scoring.

Everyone could argue about those accusations because it was really clear and frankly true that the judges was in favor to Canelo, but then again, even if Canelo was favored he still lose the fight and the judges cannot of course make an exemption that time as they would surely face heavy charges if indeed they will proclaim Canelo on that said fight.
Back to this fight, that question will remain a question until GGG proves that he can still give Canelo a hard time and defeat him even at his age. Nobody would know for sure as an upset or worse KO is always a possibility even if the chance we're talking here are so slim.
1753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 10, 2022, 06:54:44 PM
That's a big challenge for him, he has to start over again but it's never too late for him, he has the heart of a champion, it's just that he struggle to keep the weight in the division where he was a champion.

Yeah, but Casimero is already on his prime years and he just wanted a couple of fights already. So if he will start all over at the new weight class, it might be too late for him to get another belt. The perfect time is when he won it against Tete, then defended it against Duke Micah and unfortunately he can't do it against Butler. And there are no fights for him this year, so another chances squandered.
It's really unfortunate because he is not that young already to start over at the upper divisions but I seriously think that he does not have much of a choice here but to start again and try what he could do in super-bantam or featherweight where his weight is not an issue. He was a given a but it's sad that he just wasted it because it is pretty clear that he is struggling on his weight, so best thing to do is move-up.

Yes, he is in his early 30's, fighters prime age, he could be destroying anyone in his path and could have set up mega fight with Inoue. But we can't bring back the clock, he will have to accept and then go back to zero, climb his way back in to super bantamweight, 122 pounds (I think he can still bring his power in this weight, but 126 pounds might be too much for him. He needed to get back at least one fight maybe late this year or early 2023, just to bring back his confidence.

He's indeed unlucky but he needed to face his consequence if he still wanted to get his name back at the top, it will be hard for sure because he is going to climb the ladder again and this time it will be in a different heavier division. He needs to get his career straight this year and have the fight before he waste another year of requesting and thinking his mistakes.
This got me thinking, if Magsayo and his camp really knows that it will give him this much struggle to reduce weight in bantamweight then they should have made a decision long ago because they literally wasted time and effort.
1754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You See Or Tell If A Fight Or Event Is Fix ? on: July 10, 2022, 05:50:13 PM

I cannot really say if that's somehow true but who knows, right? I just think that your figure is quite high considering that it is a big game, I think it's just 40% or lower than that but that specific games doesn't much require crowd or large group of spectators because rigging big leagues or big games is really risky for them as they know that there would be lots of organizations who will watch it. That said, bets on that specific game are also soaring high, so that's why they can't just risk their motive with that kind of games.
The recent match between India and England. I think that match was fixed.
Both the team looked so lousy on the field. And rather it appeared England is going to win the match very easily and the end was different all together.

Wait, what sport or league are we talking here? I'm not sure if I did follow but I think I'll just leave that to you whatever that is and I'm confident that you quite know the sports well to have that kind of speculation. Hopefully that's not a big league because I'm confident that big league games aren't easy to get fixed, you need to have huge guts to consider fixing huge leagues which is by the way spectated by thousands to millions of people.
1755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on How to Manage Gambling Addiction an Open Discussion. on: July 10, 2022, 05:30:55 PM

Yes, that is indeed true and it is been already proved but as you said, it really takes some courage for that habit to change into something positive. However, that 90 days is already long enough to make a new habit. There's a new study that it only needs 2 months or 66 days approximately to change that habit. Nevertheless, days won't be counted if that certain person is ready to change his/her routine for good and also, it would really help if he or she will take a safe distance to these activities as well as friends or family that's also into gambling.
The courage comes from within. It is hard to leave the bad habit though they are easy to adopt.
But once you decide - stick to the your goal and have a go getter attitude. I hope once a person makes up his mind and strive for it there is no stopping at all
That is the hard part right there because addiction is not an easy thing to drop but you have to endure as that is your choice and you yourself have brought that into you. The important thing now is that you already have some courage and the strength to take some further steps to leave that addiction, the road may not be easy as it seems but as I said, you got to endure it if you are really that determined.
1756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 08, 2022, 08:03:57 PM
There is still a long time for the 2022-23 season to start. It is going to be underway on October 18, 2022. Lakers have a long time period ahead to think about the new team composition that they should be building for next season. Their lineup was really inadequate last season and Lebron had to do all the work. This caused them to have a poor season and say goodbye to the playoff round before even it started. Lebron must be waiting for proper trades to be motivated to continue playing for them.

The LA Lakers should just stop from trying to build a super team again, it is already proven that it won't really matter these days because what can you do with a bunch of aging superstars if they cannot even do what the younger teams can do and they aren't the same anymore unlike what they can do when they are still in their respective primes.

They should just invest in younger stars that could be a potential asset to the team in the few years to come while LeBron James is there to teach the younger generations because 2 to 3 years from now, LBJ will eventually retire and leave the team.
1757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: July 08, 2022, 07:27:32 PM
Can't really say that Canelo alone has all the advantage in their 2 previous fights, GGG was much younger that time too that's why Canelo really struggled in the those 2 said fights. The first fight was declared draw and the 2nd was a majority decision in favor of Canelo but that fight doesn't show that Canelo is more dominant that's why a trilogy was called years ago but Canelo didn't let it happen as he quite knew that the score might be settled to 1-1-1.

The trilogy fight was originally proposed in 2019, but Canelo delayed it for three years. I don't know why he ran away from the fight, as he knows that the jury is on his side. Look at the fight between Canelo and Bivol. Bivol completely dominated the match, but according to the official scorecard, it was a narrow victory for him. The same happened with Golovkin for his first two fights as well. He didn't got as many points as he would have got, and as a result lost the second match to Canelo. This time there will be a lot more scrutiny.

No I can't tell it unless it is too obvious. I've seen goalkeepers (football) acting super stupid before and there was no other explanation for those games. They were fixed. Since I don't watch the other sports like basketball, boxing etc... I don't know anything about those games so It is extremely hard for me to tell anything about them. If you are a regular watcher and a fan of those sports, you could probably tell though. If the favorite side/player acting stupid for no reason > the game is fixed
Now in the modern world - thing are more covered up there are new techniques and ways for the match fixing. But I am sure every big game has a big game behind it. To me almost every match if not approx 80% matches are fixed. Do you agree?

I think its very hard to change behaviors that turn into habits. Considering the fact that our body literally produces hormones that will effect our psychological health if we keep following our routine. Gambling as a habit is no different. Best way to finish this habit turning into addiction is to cut your brain wires symbolically. You should stop yourself producing that harmful hormone making you slave.
I agree - there is 21/90 rule. It takes 21 days to make a routine and 90 days to make it your habit.
Once you are trained for 21 days - you are good to change your routine. But it take a courage - a real courage indeed.
