1741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] a new coin based on Litecoin - CHNCoin on: May 01, 2013, 10:10:22 PM
I have pretty much everything configured to solo mine, now i'm at the last step : configuring the solomine bat file.

Could someone be so kind as to post good settings for an AMD 7950 ?
I have three of them installed.

I've only used GUIminer-scrypt before, I'll read the the manual later but righth now I just wanna copy paste something and have my three cards run solo Smiley

Anyone, please ? I'll send 500 CNC as a bounty if you can help me set it up.

Using this pool right now. Seems to work fine, and I'm getting less stale shares than with Blastbob's pool. Could be because I'm in The Netherlands....

What I would love to see next is a stratum pool Smiley
Bobs is stratum if you ask my miner.

Switched back to p2pool.chnco.in because that Frensh pool wasn't paying out anything even though many shares were excepted. guess they were orphans.

I'm using GUIminer-scrypt and after reading your post I selected "yes" in the stratum dropdown....and I'm still connecting.  Didn't change ports though. I wonder if it improves anything.

Bob, stratum isn't actually functioning, is it ?

( I have no idea how that works anyway, I just know it leads to "moar moneys" )

I have setup a CHNcoin p2pool node on my 100mbits dedicated server located in France.
It is based on : https://github.com/CHNCoin/CHNCoin.git and some small javascript/css modifications.
One more p2pool is still good to have !

Point your miner to : http://chn.bounceme.net:44397

I want to thank the editors and creator of this spreadsheet !!

Also I'm begging them to convert it to CHNcoin, as this is now pretty much redundant and I'd love a chance to use this sheet for CHNcoin trading.

Feathercoin was not the death of litecoin, and CHNcoin won't be the death of Feathercoin.

I buy for 6LTC/1000CNC or 60FTC/1000CNC. pm if interested.

That's some very lazy math raf Smiley

1749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] a new coin based on Litecoin - CHNCoin on: May 01, 2013, 02:02:31 PM
It won't start... what other setteings should I use other then the ones provided ? I can mine FTC just fine with LTC settings, does the same goes for these coins ?

What Port do i go to ?
1750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CHNcoin will be the death of Feathercoin! on: May 01, 2013, 12:25:07 PM
There's a difference. The dev for FTC actually takes active part in the community growth and participates in public discussion. As for CNC, well we haven't heard from the dev since he released his post, which only made his total post count 7. Not to mention his account was only created yesterday as opposed to bushstar who has been in the forums for almost a year.

Don't forget he's Chinese. He's probably part of the Chinese crypto community. I've lived in China for a few years, and they are VERY sensitive for hypes that can make money. Money is their religion.

We need a pool up ASAP so we can mine before this coin skyrockets.

I think it won't kill FTC, at least not quickly. But we have to join quickly because solo mining is a giant pain in the testicles right now.
1751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] a new coin based on Litecoin - CHNCoin on: May 01, 2013, 09:32:02 AM
Are people getting any positive results out of p2pool ?

Wow why did you dig up this old thread ? Let it rest piece bro
1753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FTC] In 16 hours, the fun could be over :-) on: April 30, 2013, 06:12:59 PM
According to his recent posts Perhan the topic creator recently sold all 45k of his FTC, banking on the price dropping soon. I'm sure he is unbiased with this topic though.

heh heh heh
1754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FTC] In 16 hours, the fun could be over :-) on: April 30, 2013, 06:10:18 PM

Let the dump-games begin :-)

OK, I understand we're going to be mining a lot less FTC, per miner. But why would that cause a dump ?
I think FTC is going to keep up with LTC, growth wise. The way it's been rising, I woudn't be surprised if it hit 0.1 LTC.
This may be wishful thinking though.

That's why donating is not really selfless. See it as a tiny investment to give TacoTime the chance to make his plans real.
1756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MC2: A democratic cryptocurrency based on a hybrid PoW/PoS system on: April 30, 2013, 04:40:52 PM

<snip!>

Here are some ideas I can propose and others here tell me what you all think about it.

Proposition 1: Suppose we all pledge X amount of Bitcoin to the project as a way to reserve shares in the project. A certain percentage of transaction fees early on can go to paying for the development of the project itself and toward paying the share holders. If done right then this project could get hundreds or perhaps even thousands in Bitcoin from initial investors on top of Kickstarter. The price of the shares should be cheap early on for early supporters but slowly rise in price later on for people who decide to come in with big money late. The point of this proposition is to somehow find a way to tie in an economic incentive for people to pledge X amount of Bitcoin or cash to the project, if it can accomplish this it will generate more than $50,000 easily.

Proposition 2: Suppose we don't use a transaction fee model but instead use a sort of privileged mining model where those who want to mine early must pay to reserve a spot on the mailing list? The problem with this would be accusations of premining so it's not the best solution.

Proposition 3: Allow investors to be among the first to BUY these coins prior to them reaching the exchanges. This would likely generate some interest but I don't know how this would be set up.

I've been thinking about this a lot the last few days and I think it's best to keep things simple. Percentages of transaction fees really is not transparent to people who don't understand cryptocurrency yet ( even people who do haha ).

K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple, Stupid ( no offence, just a nice expression !)

Your proposition 3 is the most appealing, to me at least. Have you used Kickstarter ? We wouldn't call it "buying" an MC2, ( or Netcoin ) but it could be like this.

Pledge 5 USD and get a big thank you, and your name on the credits list on www.netcoin.org
Plegde 10 USD and get the above, plus 1 netcoin
Pledge 20 USD and get the above, plus 3 netcoin
Pledge 50 USD, etc, etc.

So how do we get those netcoins to rewards kickstart supporters ?

Simple, we also have a "supporter/donator" system HERE in the community. Members of this board and the future MC2/Netcoin board can pledge to donate  the first 50 coins they mine, for example. There would be no reward to this except for your name on a list that you can brag about, and the sweet feeling of making a valuable donation to the future of cryptocurrency.

The kickstarter supporters won't get their coin RIGHT at launch of course, but this is fine. It never works like that on Kickstarter.

If we ( I mean you, TacoTime ; ) use this altered version of Luckybit's proposal 3, we would avoid any smelly premine, avoid making stuff to complicated, and have a lot of extra people rooting for the popularity of MC2/Netcoin.
More publicity is GREAT for a coin, look at what happened to Feathercoin.

Why would any reasonable person do it without any reward to it? (I suppose an unreasonable person would choose that option) You're basically relying on an altruism model but if that could work why not just ask miners to donate their GPU's to the Bitcoin foundation?

You're going a bit overboard there pall.

Maybe you're not the type to make a donation, but I sure wouldn't mind to give away the results of a day of mining to the cause. You're saying it's unreasonable to do something selfless ?

1758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC/FTC exchange via Google Docs [Bid 41 LTC | Ask 50 LTC] on: April 30, 2013, 07:48:59 AM
Most scammers are not so smart.

Building a GOOD alibi to scam will take many hours. You need rep, you need a lot of posts, you need at least a couple of days forum time.
And then how much can you steal ?
20-30 USD worth of coins ?

So much work for just a few coins. Only worth it for people from third world countries that have babies to feed and not enough money Smiley Or people with a grudge against society and no pride to speak of.

Note to scammers : just buy a rig and mine, more fun and honest work.

Guys, if it looks to good to be true it probably is. Do a search on a username when someone offers you a deal,  the feather trade is SWARMING with scammers right now. I suggest everyone use a rep thread. And when evaluating someone's rep thread, make sure the people leaving comments are reputable too. phew.... lets not get scammed guys !
