any reason why the walletpassphrase command doesnt seem to recognize my pword properly? keeps say password is not correct. However, the unlock wallet button accepts the password fine but not sure that it only unlocks the wallet for minting...i think sends can still be done which is a problem for security.

Thanks to the dev for following through with it!

Hey guys, IMPORTANT PLEASE HELP! I have shut down my vms and am unable to stop the masternodes from running. I fire up the wallet on my local machine and initiate masternode stop but all I get is darkproton@ubuntu:~/Desktop$ ./darkcoind masternode stop "password" Not implemented yet Hmmmmmm.. unsure what to do.
[EdIT] I can provide a list of ips that are no longer valid if it helps
[/EDIT]
The code should expire your masternodes when they stop pinging the network. It usually takes about 25-35 minutes. Maybe that's not working though? I'll check on it Thanks man. You need a list of my ips? Got them, thanks I'm having the same issue. I've even transferred the 1K DRK out of address 0 and into another address in the wallet, but my MN still displays in the list.

finally figured it out For some reason the MN list is showing the public IP broadcasted by my home router, it's not showing the elastic IP of the EC2 instance. Any idea why this is happening? When setting this up, did you start darkcoind normally on your remote computer? IE: ./darkcoind ? When starting your local server, did you start it with the masternode=ip:9999 then unlock the wallet, then start masternode - all on the local wallet? Does your remote configure have your ip address in the right spot? Finally, do both wallet config files have masternode=1 in them and the proper needed ip address "addnode=25.25.XXX.XXX"? Those are the main things I can think of??? yep, i followed all these instructions, my home router IP is shown in the list still instead of the IP of the EC2 instance. Ok, well it seems like your local wallet is not hooking up with the EC2 Have you possibly started your local darkcoind first with a normal start up, like ./darkcoind before doing ./darkcoind masternodeaddr=ip:9999 ? If so, you must stop your darkcoind, and start it up from the beginning with ./darkcoind masternodeaddr=(ip_of_remote_server):9999 THEN, you need to unlock your local (hopefully passphrased wallet) Then do the ./darkcoind masternode start passphrase something got messed up in the steps, we just have to figure out where I do this all the time, it's common to get a blind spot, sometimes it's better after walking away from it for a few hours i'm using the windows qt wallet locally, only darkcoind is on the remote server. Do you mean that if I have in the past ever started the window QT wallet without the -masternodeaddr=<remote server ip:port> switch that I need to install a new Windows QT wallet and start it with the switch. Or do you mean I just need to close the Windows QT wallet and then restart with the -masternodeaddr switch? thanks!

Those are the main things I can think of??? Your local config needs to have the lines: addnode=23.23.186.131 masternodeaddr=(REMOTE IP:PORT) server=1 daemon=1 masternode=1 rpcuser=s9f0asjv0dsa9f rpcpassword=09dsafus09dafusdafas Your remote config only needs: addnode=23.23.186.131 Wh1teKn1ght your missing "masternodeaddr=" in your local config file. Edit: Take what I say with a grain of salt. This is working for me though. Double EDIT: you only need in your local config file addnode=23.23.186.131 masternode=1 masternodeaddr=IPADDRESS:PORT thanks for trying, i added the 'masternodeaddr=<remote server IP:port>' line to the local config but my home network IP is still in the MN list instead of the Public IP for the EC2 instance

ok, so this is what it looks like now: addnode=23.23.186.131 addnode=50.16.206.102 addnode=50.19.116.123 addnode=98.165.130.67 addnode=54.242.50.205 addnode=50.17.98.53 addnode=54.225.43.37 listen=1 server=1 daemon=1 logtimestamps=1 maxconnections=256 masternode=1 testnet=0 rpcuser=random_user_name rpcpassword=random_password hoping it works....guess i'll wait the half hour and see. Thanks for you help so far! edit: I don't think it's working, i just noticed a new masternode show up in the remote server and in my local QT wallet list, but mine still does not show up on the remote server so it must have just done the ping but mine is still not showing in the remote server list. Now how does your remote darkcoin.conf look like ? addnode=23.23.186.131 listen=1 server=1 daemon=1 logtimestamps=1 maxconnections=256 masternode=1 externalip=YOUR_SERVER_IP rpcuser=random_user_name rpcpassword=random_password
? same as yours it seems: rpcuser=random_user_name rpcpassword=random_password rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 listen=1 server=1 daemon=1 logtimestamps=1 maxconnections=256 #-------------------- # change ami_public_ip to public ip address which you connected by s externalip=54.186.164.9 #--------------------- #------------ masternode=1 addnode=23.23.186.131 #---------- Let's wait. still nothing...i'm guessing we've run out of options at this point?? could it have anything to do with not using darkcoind on my local setup? my local setup is a Windows OS so i'm issuing all the commands in the Console window of the QT wallet...as far as I am aware there is no darkcoind for Windows.

nope, waited all through the night and still doesnt show up in the remote server list, only in the local QT wallet. Doesn't it need to show up in the remote server list to be valid? or is the local QT wallet good enough?
my elastic IP for the remote server is 54.186.164.9 if it helps
I don't see your IP in the list. Did you start the masternode on your local QT too ? Yeah, i started darkcoind on remote server, then started QT wallet locally with 'darkcoin-qt -masternodeaddr=54.186.164.9 :9999then unlocked wallet then enter masternode start, says "successfully started masternode then enter masternode list and shows my IP at the bottom of the list but IP never shows in masternode list on remote server Are you sure that you have to specify the port ? Try without it. i think it's needed because without the port, it says "not capable masternode" when i try to start it How does your local darkcoin.conf look like ? addnode=23.23.186.131 listen=1 server=1 daemon=1 logtimestamps=1 maxconnections=256 masternode=1 like so: addnode=23.23.186.131 addnode=50.16.206.102 addnode=50.19.116.123 addnode=98.165.130.67 addnode=54.242.50.205 addnode=50.17.98.53 addnode=54.225.43.37 masternode=1 testnet=0 i'll try adding this bit and report back: listen=1 server=1 daemon=1 logtimestamps=1 maxconnections=256 edit: when i add this it says "to use -server option you must set an rpcpassword"... Add this too rpcuser=random_user_name rpcpassword=random_password
ok, so this is what it looks like now: addnode=23.23.186.131 addnode=50.16.206.102 addnode=50.19.116.123 addnode=98.165.130.67 addnode=54.242.50.205 addnode=50.17.98.53 addnode=54.225.43.37 listen=1 server=1 daemon=1 logtimestamps=1 maxconnections=256 masternode=1 testnet=0 rpcuser=random_user_name rpcpassword=random_password hoping it works....guess i'll wait the half hour and see.
