It's not that Network hashrate has doubled overnight, it's that DOGE went through it's first halving.
This is the way most Cryptocurrencies reward early adopters and/or increase the value of the coin.
The reward is random, but where the other day the reward was between 1-1,000,000 DOGE coins, it's now going to be 1-500,000 DOGE Coins. And then while later it will be 1-250,000 DOGE coins and so on.
What it is supposed to do is make the coin more rare, which should increase the value of the coin. If you think Market cap, which alot of people believe in, There use to require X number of dollars in the DOGE currency to keep it at its current value. Now that amount required is half what it used to be, so it should allow the entire value of the coin increase. In a perfect world/vacuum it would take a coin worth 250 Satoshi, and eventually make it worth 500 Satoshi.
It's not dead yet, but from seeing the network hash rate and difficulty diving you would think it was.

Ok once you're in Appdata, make sure you go into the Maxcoin directory.
From there create a notepad document named maxcoin.conf
Add this in the Notepad file
rpcuser=maxuser rpcpassword=<password> rpcport=8669 rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 server=1 addnode=maxcoin.cloudapp.net addnode=maxcoinus.cloudapp.net addnode=maxcoinasia.cloudapp.net addnode=maxexplorer.cloudapp.net addnode=213.179.202.19 addnode=91.121.8.25 addnode=213.192.56.163:8334 addnode=107.170.15.110:8668 addnode=131.111.33.245:8668 addnode=137.116.204.146:8668 addnode=138.91.116.247:8668 addnode=144.76.107.81:8668 addnode=144.76.113.132:8668 addnode=144.76.238.140:8668 addnode=148.251.11.196:8668 addnode=162.251.118.42:8668 addnode=187.104.154.105:8668 addnode=162.243.98.115:8668 addnode=94.226.111.26:8668 addnode=108.166.119.210:8668 addnode=54.242.57.209:8668 addnode=109.204.130.61:8668 addnode=62.24.83.120:8668 addnode=107.170.0.102:8668 addnode=37.139.10.249:8668 addnode=62.210.162.235:8668 addnode=54.80.38.63:8668 addnode=54.196.40.143:8668 addnode=23.97.130.72:8668 addnode=95.85.14.92 addnode=95.85.38.7 addnode=95.85.41.61 addnode=95.85.40.179 addnode=95.85.42.240 addnode=95.85.43.202 addnode=95.85.43.189 addnode=95.85.25.162 addnode=107.170.246.18 addnode=107.170.245.188 addnode=107.170.245.192 addnode=107.170.10.242 addnode=192.241.174.133 addnode=95.85.45.177 addnode=213.179.202.19 addnode=91.121.8.25 addnode=91.121.8.25 addnode=wombat.dar.sh addnode=188.226.147.81:36424 addnode=84.229.7.198:8668 addnode=187.104.154.105:51331 addnode=54.204.58.216:53712 addnode=54.213.139.176:53099 addnode=54.193.94.239:41078 addnode=50.17.172.165:60285 addnode=54.193.60.193:56916 addnode=151.225.12.223:53949 addnode=2.82.203.159:65250 addnode=137.135.71.140:1176 addnode=82.196.7.83:39193 addnode=68.230.151.179:50492 addnode=188.226.146.70:8668 addnode=213.192.56.163 addnode=148.251.11.43 addnode=188.226.147.41 addnode=187.104.154.105 addnode=137.226.216.235 addnode=94.23.18.51 addnode=162.243.98.115:8668 addnode=94.226.111.26:8668 addnode=108.166.119.210:8668 addnode=54.242.57.209:8668 addnode=109.204.130.61:8668 addnode=62.24.83.120:8668 addnode=107.170.0.102:8668 addnode=37.139.10.249:8668 addnode=62.210.162.235:8668 addnode=54.80.38.63:8668 addnode=54.196.40.143:8668 addnode=23.97.130.72:8668

No thats the joke of the Wallet. When they copied the Blakecoin wallet, they didn't check to make sure they changed all the names from Blakecoin to Maxcoin, so when you encrypt the wallet, it displays a warning that if you forget your passcode, you may lose all your Blakecoins. It's still the Maxcoin wallet. It's just a joke of a wallet.
|
|
|
Go to C:\Users\your profile\App Data\Roaming\Maxcoin Open Notepad, create a Maxcoin.conf file, and add the nodes.
It's a mess.
If you really want a laugh, once it's sync'ed up, go in and lock your wallet. You better watch out, your Blakecoins might be lost.

Most screwed up coin that I can think of. BTW Bitcoin world, The coin has pretty much never been CPU mined. It was GPU mined by devs from the beginning, and by almost everyone else after the first few days. Go here and download the revised CGMiner and Cudaminer programs.: http://dwarfpool.com/maxProblems off the bat: - No windows wallet - When they finally did release a Windows wallet, the wallet itself isn't set up to configure itself, like almost every other wallet out there, so in order to get it to Sync, I had to make a .conf file (Not something a non-technical "investor" is going to want to do) - When they copied the wallet, they didn't even take the time to check to see if they changed the names of the old coin through the code. For instance, when you encrypt your wallet, the Wallet lets you know if you lose your Passphrase, you won't be able to access your BLAKECOINS. - The coin is in a constant 75% attack, with 1gh having approx 75% of the network hashrate, yet no one seems to care??? 1gh doesn't even have an advisement to please use a different pool . Every other coin freaks out when a pool gets 45% of the hashrate. Pools stop allowing people to join, and actually push some people out. Yet with MaxCoin it's business as usual. I believe it's the worst coin ever launched. But I still mine it. Lol. And why you might ask. Because to many people listen to Max and do everything he says. I remember sitting with LTC at $2, and BTC around $200, and when Max told his followers to pump, BTC jumped in less than a week to $1000, and LTC followed to $50. He has tweeted that he wants to pump Max to more than BTC's value, if he does, I am going to Disneyland.

I do have to agree, we need more focus on the coin. I don't think we need a name change to make it take off, it needs people bumping this thread, a website ect.
The biggest problem we had was things were going good, then we had all those problems with the chain going off the rails. The problems were eventually fixed, but no one took the time to relay that to all the people. It has never taken off since then. The coin started with alot of activity from the Devs, now since the coin hasn't had any problems technically, the push ect for the coin just tappered off to nothing.
Changing the name won't do anything without a decent backing/push to get in the public eye again.

Lol, that's what I was saying a while back about piles of merge miners not having enough IXC in their accounts, at the current price to warrant then taking the time to download a wallet and transfer from their pool. If the value goes to $10+, then I think some of them will start taking notice and taking the time to harvest their IXC coins. Until that time, you will need to find other interesting ways to get them to move those frozen coins around.

I would definitely ditch those American IXC slogans. You want to appeal to the world, and that is totally the wrong way to do it.

Had a sale in Europe, so I can now confirm that the Steam codes do infact work for European customers.

Alot of people are taking the money they are making and buying more and more cards. It's very feasible. We use to have a guy on netcodepool that had over 300 Mhs. He had a huge miner farm. The ASICS might be here, but they are no better/faster than GPU's. The only saving is in power consumption.

http://cryptofolio.infoThis site works well for watching your portfolio value. If you Bookmark the link with your personal UUID#, you can go back and see the value of your coins with a click of a button. I have also been playing around with this site. https://myaltcoins.com/ which seems to work decently as well. Neither has volumes though.

I have seen far more insulting coin names then that. For me I would have to say I would put Rape coin at the top of the list.

Apocalypse Pete's Store is now open. We accept Litecoins, Bottlecaps, Doge, Cryptogenic Bullion, Digital Coin, World Coin, Mega Coin and IXCoin. Our primary merchandise at the moment is Steam Games and Gift cards. Many of the gift cards are only available in Canada, but a lot of them can be used in Canada and the US. Also looking into various Game items to sell. Right now there are various packages from World of Tanks and World of Warplanes (North America Server). If we don't have the World of Tanks/Warplanes package you want, just ask and I should be able to accommodate you. If there are any other video games with micro transactions that can be gifted to peoples accounts, let me know and I will add them. Look forward to hearing from you. PS: The site is pretty much in Beta atm. Just trying to get a bit of economy flowing though a few coins, and not doing this to make much money. As sales come in, I will use the cash to improve the site, and possibly carry gift cards on hand so I can cut down costs. The current address is http://bottlecapstore.weebly.com/

Just want to verify a few things.
1) Did you set up your Worker in the pool. 2) When you set up the worker you should have a name that looks like user.name Make sure you have the period and both parts in there. 3) yep, run from CMD prompt til you get things figured out. 4) Make sure you run the .bat file in the same directory that your cgminer is saved 5) Make sure you have an older version of cgminer. The newer versions no longer hash scrypt. I use 3.1.1 myself but I think anything before 3.7 will work. 6) Just wondering, did you make your batch file directly from the .txt file? not sure why you have a .txt file in the setup.

If you look at the twitter feed at the bottom of the screen or follow cryptsy, you would see they constantly post problems to watch for, and Doge has had some problems lately, including them needing to shut DOGE down for a while they re-downloaded the blockchain. Be patient, if you want fast and reliable, go play on the stock exchange. If you want to deal with trading cryptocurrencies, then you need to have patience.

Yeah, I see no copyright infringement there. No one has a copyright on cola. Coke, Pepsi, RC, ect. Those are trademarks, but none of those have been touched. Home Depot also can't say they own the name home.

Delivers what? A buck ten ($1.10)? lol...
Come on Luke CoinWalker, pay this guy something decent. I've seen coin design contests and they're crap, this guy got it right on the first try. That's impressive.
Actually if IXC is worth $0.11, 100 IXC = $11 Not a huge amount, but don't shortchange the donations

All depends. If the dev pre-mines a small portion, and is seen actively using it to promote the coin, ect ect. Then sure. In the case of Stablecoin's pre-mine for the coin washing process he is working on sure.
But if I see out of the gate the dev disappears, or is keeping that pre-mine to himself, then I drop it quickly. In Stablecoin's case, I dropped a week or so after the dev went AWOL. It seems he has come back, but I haven't gone back there yet. Maybe when all the dust is settled over there again.
And speaking of pre-mines. In the case of Marinecoin, where 97.2% is premined, and the remaining 2.8% is mined at equal rate over next 1000 years, so that the dev can purchase a $15 billion dollar city, and rent out yachts to it's investors, I have to give a big NO

There are already a few that are made and ready to go to. People just have to decide where they want to meet. The few I suggested: http://cryptocointalk.com : which already has complete sections made for I believe every alt coin ever created. And they do an awesome job staying on top of the new ones. http://www.digitalcurrencytalk.com : Which is pretty much dead now, but who know, time for renewed interest? https://litecointalk.org/index.php?board=68.0 Or a closer based forum than BCT, tied to Litecoin instead of Bitcoin, that being the mostly unused Alt Coin subforum of the Litecoin forums.

Sorry, that's kind of what I was going with. It takes alot to get a BTC miner to sweep out their NMC pool wallet, and that is at $7. For a coin worth $0.11 it's going to take that much more to get them to bother.
Just wondering, does IXCoin have any stores that accept the coins yet? If not, I admit my store is extremely low volume, and it's general purpose is just to bring a possible market to coins, not to really make money, but if you are hard up for a first site, I could add IX Coin to the list of coins I would be willing to take. It's not alot, but if even 1 Steam game manages to sell, that might be a volume of about 500 coins, which looks better then 3-4 coins traded.
