182  Economy / Economics / Re: Greek on-line merchants? on: July 07, 2015, 01:21:39 PM
any one know if there is a greek centralize payment system or processor like a paypal but greek, it would be easier for then to offer bitcoin integration then going to every online merchant.
183  Economy / Economics / Re: pump and dump on: July 07, 2015, 01:18:48 PM
I also dont understand this.

If i would have that money i would buy step by step bitcoin worth of 1 million dollar.

And after 5 years the price will be easy at 25.000 Dollar or more and i make from 1 million - 100 million dollar.  Smiley

that if your estimate is correct, what if five years from now, bitcoin prices will come down?

Anything could happen, what if we see a down year of 150 to 200 each btc, is only really to the new adopters and supporters at some point to keep up with the price the market is defenndly volatile and open to manipulation to anyone with a good thousands bitcoin.
184  Economy / Economics / Re: What can greece central bank do? on: July 07, 2015, 03:34:39 AM
The Drachma will devalue sharply from day one and adjust downward to the real economic ability of Greece. Assuming a different outcome is delusional.

I don't think so. The Greek central bank will try hard (at least in the initial few weeks) to limit the devaluation of the Drachma (by buying Drachma from the Forex market). But everything will depend upon the volume of Drachma banknotes which they print. I hope that, at least in the beginning, it will be in small volumes. So it won't be that hard for the central bank, to control the exchange rates.

I dont even think they could print drachma because one the rules to join the Eurozone is for the countries to stop printing local notes and destroy their printing presses.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: July 07, 2015, 03:21:40 AM
I still have this big problem with bitcoin and my self, i had a chance to buy thousands of bitcoin when price was under 50 usd and i passed the offer because i thought mining was going to be good enough.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Silk Road's Ulbricht Win Appeal? on: July 07, 2015, 03:17:28 AM
The fact that they didn't charge the investigators who stole the Bitcoins until after sentencing makes the trial illegitimate. Unfortunately the people in charge of deciding whether there should be a re-trial are the ones who facilitated the use of tainted evidence in the first place.

There is a lot of political pressure behind the trail so no wonder so much evidence in his favor was not allowed during the trail, just imagine hes lawyer talking about corrupt agents taking drug money for them self.
187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trending in greece! on: July 07, 2015, 03:13:39 AM
Bitcoin increased by 400% in the past 2 months I read. Because Pypal is no longer available, and Greeks gotta use some kind of payment to pay online. This is going to help bitcoin over all.

Not just that. The current financial crisis in Greece helped bitcoin because people are excited about Greeks going to use bitcoin as an alternative so they bought large sums of coins for future reference.

Well lets hope the coming crisis in china will make bitcoin blow up, from what it looks like the crisis in Greece would look like a tiny cloudy day from what if beginning to happen in china http://money.cnn.com/2015/07/06/investing/stocks-market-china-greece/index.html?iid=hp-toplead-dom
188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison on: July 07, 2015, 03:10:17 AM
Will president Rand Paul pardon Ross?

i dont think a pardon is need it here, let him get a fair trial with out any corruption from the government or any political pressure and no pardon will be needed.
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we stress testing again? on: July 07, 2015, 03:07:41 AM
Looks like the transaction spam might be slowing down a little bit, I'm only seeing a few transactions per second now. Some serious strain on the network though, looks like the peak transactions per second was 212 (!) according to this page.

is looks likes things have slowed down, i wonder if they are trying to break the 200k transaction mark has all time high, i dont know if it was just me but i saw more the 200 transactions per second i thought is way 457 at peak.
190  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: July 07, 2015, 01:19:53 AM
Why would anyone pay for porn?  There are tons of free porn sites online LOL

Because free porn is something you could always get, the point of paid porn is better quality and a more extensive material when it comes to wants and needs.
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins still unconfirmed after 5 hours? on: July 07, 2015, 01:17:33 AM
After looking at the transactions chart could we say that this stress test is looking to break 200,000 transactions or at lease get close to it https://blockchain.info/charts/n-transactions?timespan=2year&showDataPoints=false&daysAverageString=1&show_header=true&scale=0&address=
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we stress testing again? on: July 07, 2015, 01:09:02 AM
Just went over 500 transactions/second again. This is the past 5 mins

193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins still unconfirmed after 5 hours? on: July 07, 2015, 12:38:51 AM
Hi I just sent 2.43 btc from localbitcoins to another wallet at 7pm it is now nearly 12 and it is still showing up as no confirmations on blockchain.
Don't think I've ever had it take this long in 3 years, any ideas what the hold up could be?

Here is a link to the transaction - https://blockchain.info/address/13okt3FMVCmbDsQQ3oXsvYroArTjVYj1xc

Thanks

Mine too - https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/e2438c4261288088e4a4fade7e137b9880095add5b335311fbdb4983b178884d

Seems like another stress test is going on. Backlog is building up on mempool. Most of the last blocks are 900+ KB.

Most defednly is building up on sections, makes me wonder how long this the test will keep on going, i did when down a bit hopefully is not a 24hrs stress.

195  Economy / Economics / Re: Can the US win the currency war? on: July 06, 2015, 10:09:52 PM

196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we stress testing again? on: July 06, 2015, 09:50:59 PM
I guess a bigger block mb size will help in cases like this, is stress testing really a good way to point out to others that bitcoin needs bigger size blocks, then it comes the dilemma of miner saying one size and core developers an other.
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we stress testing again? on: July 06, 2015, 08:46:26 PM
oh, that explains why I'm waiting too... didn't they run a stress test recently? why another one now?  Roll Eyes

It could be random testing to see how the environment reacts, we sure react when its been more then 1 hours and have no confirmations Tongue, hopefully there is a better explanation to the transaction spike.
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Silk Road's Ulbricht Win Appeal? on: July 06, 2015, 08:40:56 PM
is hes lawyer is good enough this case could go to the supreme court and we know that takes times at lease there is always hope for an over ruling of this kind of sentences.
