yea, a rechargeable megacoin debit card reader would be a great innovation!  I am trying to mine MEGA but i cant seem to get the top hashrate out of my cgminer version 3.3 If I set intensity to 13 it tosses HW errors and if I reduce intensity to 12, I only get 800Mh/s (missing last 400Mh/s)  ? anyone have this problem or have a solution for this problem??? -digeros |

Here is some more info: The currencies they currently have on their exchange are BTC, LTC, XPM, XRP, ZCC and YAC - MEC will be the 7th. Here is part of the initial contact I got from them: "we would like to add MEC/CNY exchange to our website. We support six kind of coins now, and are looking for the 7th quality coin. We think MEC is really good but lack of chinese exchange. BTER add MEC/BTC on their site but nobody trade MEC on it. We want to promote MEC again, consist of adding a MEC/CNY exchange, writing a investment analysis topic, and posting up some advertisement on our website." I know the website has been around for a while and they seem to put a lot of work in with news articles etc. I don't actually know how long their exchange has been running and from what I can gather volumes of trade are not massive... Yet. However their interest in Megacoin, in my opinion, does show that more and more people are starting to notice Megacoin as a real contender. I also think Kimoto producing the Chinese Megacoin wallet and website has probably been a big part of their decision. China is a huge economy and digital currencies really seem to be gaining traction over there from what I can see. If Chinese users / investors start buying Megacoin we could see the price rise quite nicely in the not too distant future. Anyway, one step at a time and all that..  Very exciting news. Nothing wrong with that, better to be safe than leave it in an exchange and see if somebody is capable of stealing it.
Even without theft, I would lay odds that you'll see a cryptsy outage sometime soon. I think they are getting more customers (and bots) than they can handle. The trading engine is obviously overwhelmed. As an example, watch their MEC auto-sell orders get executed. You see 1 MEC sold...then 2 MEC...then 1.... (obvious auto sells). The thing is, it is currently taking cryptsy several minutes just to clear these out at a given price point. BTC-E or Gox would blast through orders like this without even blinking.
Anyways no slam against cryptsy, they just need to get to work and improve, and the sooner the better.
I have noticed the Same delay and not just on MEC but also lots of other Cryptsy coin exchanges. It could be that they are starting to overload their processors (running all those wallets and just keeping them all up to date must be just one of the Pains in the A** for those poor bastards, plus all those micro transactions from the auto-selling mine and sell folks) The quick and dirty solution would be to set a MINIMUM TRANSACTION SIZE on the EXCHANGE. HISTORY: Back in the day of REAL marketmakers in lightly traded NASDAQ stocks, Marketmakers would never sell less than a 100 share lot because less than that is not worth the fee. -digeros |

I read somewhere that this coin can be mined directly from the QT wallet. Is this correct? TIA
like most coins u can but it uses cpu to mine so hash rate will most likely be way too low to find a block. I bought this was scrypt. Why can't I solo mine from the client and use my Dual GPUs? I have about the same rig as you (Windows Dual Core plus AMD 7970's x2) and my returns for MEC mining were so small I just decided to mine something easy and sell it off to BUY MEC. I set my machine to mine (load balance between a solo server and a pool server) all night and didn't get one block or even very much on the pool. I can't figure out the optimization requirements for this coin. I would like to mine it (as that also supports the network of the coin) but have not really figured it out. -digeros |

I always expect quality work from Kimoto but I must admit, the performance of the new difficulty algo so far has exceeded my expectations!
YES GREAT WORK!!! Once i got the new client... the Blockchain was lightning fast. solo mining for the first time to see this new algo in action ---- looks super smooth!!! BRAVO!!! . less volatility is always good for the faithful as it avoids the DIFF spikes that bring in the MINE-WHATEVER MINERS hashrates that can be so disruptive to a network and blockchain progression. -digeros PS.... Are there any tips to optimizing the solo mining server version ... I get a lot of "POOL 0 not providing work fast enough" ... Can I hack windows 7 to dedicate memory, or cpu or whatever this Sort of Special SHA-256/Script hashing needs to speed it up.
