281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Official AnonCoin thread - Client Update!! (Native I2P, TOR nodes) on: August 10, 2013, 08:54:39 PM
ummm wow! that network grew fast...lol I guess everyone is happy to finally see the difficulty change!! wooot

 I think i just solo mined a block into the ETHER... my ports were mixed up and the block was found and accepted but never arrived in the wallet.... Where would it go???

Orphan, Its running under 10 second blocks at the moment. Lets hope none of the pools fork..

I am thinking of creating  aLogo for this coin but to differentiate it from the Anon hacker group I want to add a sort of Slogan to the anoncoin logo:

  • "AnonCoin - Currency of the Darknet"
  • "AnonCoin - The Darknet Currency"

Any Ideas,,, Anyone??? thanks.  digeros
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Philosopherstone - PHS | No Premine | Mandatory update 1.2 before Aug 9. on: August 10, 2013, 01:06:03 AM
digeros, what block is your client on?

We are currently at 8415:

{
"blocks" : 8415,
"currentblocksize" : 1000,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"difficulty" : 0.75582133,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : false,
"genproclimit" : -1,
"hashespersec" : 0,
"networkhashps" : 26487206,
"pooledtx" : 0,
"testnet" : false
}

Yes use a lot of nodes once you are synced, but too many bad nodes can make you download the wrong chain or unable to sync.

Edit: Digeros, you must be on the same chain as us since your nodes are the same as mine. (Again, I think this is the correct/official chain)

update:

{
"blocks" : 8544,
"currentblocksize" : 1000,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"difficulty" : 0.47088875,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : false,
"genproclimit" : -1,
"hashespersec" : 0,
"networkhashps" : 15196882,
"pooledtx" : 0,
"testnet" : false
}

so I am only supplying 1/15th of the mining hash rate so I could not have created a fork.

RUning Version 1.2 since the launch
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Philosopherstone - PHS | No Premine | Mandatory update 1.2 before Aug 9. on: August 09, 2013, 09:29:23 PM
so version 1.1 syncs all the way up to current block 8444... 1.2 does not

I have been running V 1.2 since it was released and have been connect to the PHS network for the last week with a mining wallet and a retaining wallet on another computer  - both agree on block @8444 now

and I think that I have been connected to the network by a large number of peers @50 on average in the early days to @ 25 now.  so, I doubt that My blockchain is the forked one.

284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Philosopherstone - PHS | No Premine | Mandatory update 1.2 before Aug 9. on: August 09, 2013, 07:49:27 PM
I am on Windows too and on the same chain as Trid (which I believe is correct).  We are synced and network hash is increasing.

{
"blocks" : 8390,
"currentblocksize" : 1000,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"difficulty" : 1.16889024,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : false,
"genproclimit" : -1,
"hashespersec" : 0,
"networkhashps" : 41726100,
"pooledtx" : 0,
"testnet" : false
}

I think the nethash you guys are seeing at 6100 is the historical quote, ie the networkhash was ~71mh/s on that block when it was made but no one is mining at that block currently (I don't think you could, but not 100% sure).

Has anyone tried to create a new wallet.dat and connect direct to a node?  If that was able to sync, then you could dump your private keys and import them into the working wallet.

I redownloaded 1.2; got rid of everything except the .conf which contained only the single line "connect=188.252.16.109" and with one connection, it goes fine until it hits 6084; est. total blocks 4193. Then the log chokes slowly with those ERROR: CheckProofOfStake() things. It's consuming 0% CPU, so it's not doing much. Also, the greenbar disappears, but I never get the green checkmark, and it still says (out of sync).

Plus, I've mined on the 6084 fork and got some blocks, about 10x faster than I should, which obviously means this is the correct fork. Wink

Gonna reredownload 1.2 from another source, maybe one is corrupted.

I wouldn't trust just one connection... use a bunch of nodes then the nodes have to aggree on the blockchain... here are my current connection IP  add to config file

Something is definitely screwed up -- I'm shutting down the mining until it's straightened out. I added the original nodes back in...lost some coins...some coins moved from balance to stake...difficulty continues to just jump around like crazy (like I mentioned yesterday, sometimes dipping down as low as 0.0002xxx) -- I'll wait until it blows over. In the meantime, the people that are rocking and rolling should get hooked up with a low difficulty.

I've been on 1.2 since it was posted -- a bit concerned.

wow hate to say it but you may have mined on an aborted Fork... I did that on Bit bar.. and when I reloaded the blockchain my mined blocks... were gone without a trace... spooky I know.  But coins that move from balance to stake are now minting stakes that will pay dividends... Much better than coins that evaporate--- read up on POS coins and commands like walletpassphrase and reservebalance  - peace digeros

6084 now, I was farther along before I rescanned and did all that. Now I'm stuck at "last received block was generated 2 days ago" when I hover over the progress bar.

I'm still not up to speed 100% on the PoS stuff I guess -- how is this affecting difficulty? Is this why current difficulty fluctuates on my client from something like 0.00027 one second and then rockets back up to the current difficulty? Because despite which difficulty is displayed in the wallet, the actual network diff is accurate in cgminer. For example, right now my wallet shows a 0.0003125 difficulty despite cgminer reporting the accurate 337K diff (which is roughly 3.7, I beleive -- didn't do the math but you get the idea.) Is the PoS stuff driving the overall difficulty up?

I have PHS in my wallet that I pool-mined and deposited as far as 7 days back...and I have PHS blocks I solo-mined from 6 days ago onward. My current "Stake" remains at 0.00 PHS and other than the spare change attached to a few of my solo-mined blocks (which I assume is just from transactions) I haven't received anything outside of the standard blocks.

This is a mildly foreign concept to me despite the fact that I briefly read up on it. Is there a simple explanation...or is my wallet configured incorrectly? I don't have a problem reading up on it more when I get the time if that's what is required but if somebody can easily explain it I'd appreciate it.

Thanks for the Entry ----  I have THE SAME ISSUE....  Transferred about 1500phs into my wallet from a pool on the 1st and seeing no stakes yet...  Any Help or Info is welcome...  Left wondering...

I updated to V 1.2 wallet is encrpyted but unlocked by walletpassphrase  but  NO JUICE ... So, John?Huh
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Silver Rounds or Silver Bars; which do you prefer? on: August 07, 2013, 07:12:46 PM
I like the ideas of scrap coins, now that there was a choice, so thats how I voted.  But I do love the allure of silver bars.

I like the idea of Bars because they are easier to store in cigar boxes etc.  But I would also like to be able to buy these Max Keiser Ethical Silver

292  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Bitfury is looking for alpha-testers of first chips! FREE MONEY HERE! on: August 07, 2013, 02:31:26 AM
would this heatsink also be placed on the backside of the chip?
Yes, the bottom layer is kept clear from
components, so the heatsink will fit
snugly. Just like the USB Block Erupters.

Not sure if it will be fixed with bolts or heat
conducting glue.

intron

Bolts would be best, it allows hardcore users to swap for thier own heatsink designs more easily and with no damage to the unit (unlike removing glued components)

CAn I still get in on the TEsting?Huh... I used to do computer testing for Digital pre-press enterprise systems as well as building games and websites.  I have running 20 Blocker Erupters for a few months now and am comfortable hacking with hardware. I can create good bug reports.  - digeros

Wow @ the network hashrate:
1.35 GH/Sec.

Yup, difficulty and net hash is going up because PoS blocks are coming through now.

Probably need an update here to sort out the PoS and PoW difficulty..

my getinfo says

cgminer Diff went from @ 85K  last night to 900K  this morning..... What would cause such a DIFF SPIKE?  Is this something of an error in the code?  Or was this to be expected when POS shares come into generation.

diff gone down to
"difficulty" : 7.23243027,

Huh Is this caused by overlapping POW vs POS difficulty waves that will even out as the block chain becomes more mature and each cycle moderates the difficulty difference between the POW diff and the POS diff?Huh
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Philosopherstone - PHS | No Premine | Mandatory update 1.2 before Aug 9. on: August 06, 2013, 07:02:44 PM
What happen to my PHS after re-sync the wallet

Those stakes are coins that will generate POS shares and create the interest as the coin age matures.

For those that missed it :   if you have locked your wallet with a passphrase you will have to unlock the wallet to allow it to communicate with the network to generate these STakes (for these interest bearing coins).  To do this you have to use the Console and enter::::

Walletpassphrase "passphrase"  9999999 true

This unlocks the wallet for 999999 seconds for the generation of POS stakes.

So If I dont lock the wallet, do I have to enter the command line ?

NO, that is why your wallet automatically generated your Stakes when you updated the wallet.

Yes this is one of the best coins out there Smiley
I agree I thought that GrowthCoin might be competitor but with that fast 45sec block generation (VS 2 minute blocks) and 64PHS a block vs. 100GWC per block.  This coin is far more rare and unlikely to be blast mined like growthcoin is at the current time.... SO I am sticking by PhilosopherStone for now.  But what I would really like to see is a productive entrepreneurial use for this awesome savings tool called a PhilosopherStone.  Something like FineArtAmerica.com where I could buy artwork for philosopherstones or something like a KickStarter.com for Art or Engineering projects using PHS.  Also we could use a BitMit.net for PHS.  With an inherent interest rates projects have a real ROI figure to work with (although Art may have no ROI).

I, for example, am sitting on a patent for an innovative vertical axis turbine that needs the engineering and testing for a more full size model producing electricity... (for running a server farm...mining currencies Wink)

PS if anyone is having problems getting the Blockchain for PHS here my node list... just paste this list into you philosopherstone.conf an you will be good to go

this coin is worthless garbage

Lulz! Jr.

you're on some good drugs if you think this coin is special. 100% annual interest is 100% annual inflation.

i dont know it exactly, but thats only if all coins are held one year?
so i dont think your sentence is right.

ok, its potentially 100 percent annual inflation. this coin is fucked up from the floor up. by my calculations, over 780,000 coins already exist. when it comes to cryptocoins less is often more in terms of value Smiley

r3wt

first of all that would require all coins not to move from anyones' wallet for a WHOLE YEAR - very unlikely.  ONLY true savers would receive that whole interest rate. The Crisis with this coin that I have is that the block rate is so FAST and seems to be being hashed at incredible rates by (seemingly) chinese with HUGE HASH RATES like the top 10 guys on the pools have 56Kh/s to 14Kh/s  that I just can't compete with, as well as other pools in china cranking it out, so SOLO mining is already out of the water now that difficulty is bouncing up against 1,000,000.

perhaps you prefer philosopherstones with a lower rate of block generation  check it out slower block generation, 50% annual interest to POS stakes.

=> Best: 100, mining Bitcoin

few days ago worked normal.

THis looks like a great tool but can I configure it to only mine the Coins I am interested in (ie. Bitcoin vs. Bitbar vs. NameCoin vs AnonCoin vs PhilosopherStones (once on an exchange))

http://cryptocoinexplorer2.com:5555/

I have put up a live alpha/beta of Explorer III.

This is a PrimeCoin Explorer.

-At this stage only the basic explorer is online, none of the extra features are active yet.

-Search function is not implemented yet, however the URL scheme is simple, and searching by hand quite easy.

-There are a couple of known bugs - for example the transactions on some blocks do not show correctly.

-Spent output field in the transaction page is not implemented yet

This is strictly a testing stage, so expect the explorer to be up and down as bugs are fixed and features are added.

Thanks for all the great work  any possibility that you could add Philosopherstones and Growthcoin Huh  POW/POS coins with interest bearing wallets by coin-age.
