185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll - Mt. Gox Rollback - We Finally see our Accounts on: June 25, 2011, 01:27:01 PM
Hmm. I see a dozen logins between Sat 18 Jun 2011 02:35:11 PM JST and Sat 18 Jun 2011 02:44:26 PM JST from these IP addresses:

209.200.185.86
209.200.185.87
209.200.185.88
209.200.185.89

Apparently these addresses belong to Prolexic. I think this was about 24 hours before I was locked out of my account (my home IP shows up several times after this), and 38 hours before the crash.

Edit: Maybe this was me logging in while there was some kind of DDoS protection running? Around 2:45 PM JST, I was unable to stay logged in (I'd be immediately logged out after loading the main page), and around 2:59 PM I noticed I was unable to change my password.

Those are the same ones I had!

Has anyone Else seen this? These IPs do seem to be related to DDoS alright, a quick google of 209.200.185.88 leads to http://www.prolexic.com/ a company specializing in DDoS protection "5 out of 10 world's top banks rely on Prolexic"
Although Googling the others seem to bring up proxy sites?

Anyone know what this is about? my knowledge of this sort of thing is somewhat limited.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll - Mt. Gox Rollback - We Finally see our Accounts on: June 25, 2011, 05:51:59 AM
Other.  I have slightly more in USD and BTC - because it appears mtgox don't calculate the fees properly.
They're truncating and/or rounding at some point - so sometimes they effectively charge less than 0.65%

This is all well and good while it works in our favour - but it doesn't bode well for the trustworthiness of their system.

I find this very interesting, indeed a remark on the consistency of their system, although these are certainly extraordinary circumstances to say the least, well spotted julz.
187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll - Mt. Gox Rollback - We Finally see our Accounts on: June 25, 2011, 05:49:55 AM
I lost the btc I bought for $1 during the crash

I had trades reverted that i made at 12 after the event; Reverted, rolledback, i suppose you could say lost; But by right those coins were stolen, even if you decided to sell low, that panic sell was caused by something artificial and illegal within the system itself and i really believe all trades made after the event are invalid to a large degree, large enough to warrant this rollback.
188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll - Mt. Gox Rollback - We Finally see our Accounts on: June 25, 2011, 05:39:21 AM
Consistant good results so far, now if Mt Gox can just make good on getting us back to the point of withdrawing depositing and trading I may begin to consider starting to trust them again... maybe.

Also (due to the fact that its now a meme) Option two can also be expressed as:

fuck you mtgox
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Poll - Mt. Gox Rollback - We Finally see our Accounts on: June 25, 2011, 05:15:46 AM
Now, I am quite interested to see what kindof breakdown we will have.

I imagine that the vast vast majority have lost nothing whatsoever. And if this poll shows that fact alone then fantastic.
Since its a rollback even if any hacker made off with some money we will all be going back to a balance before the incident, am I Right? So any loss incurred will be borne by MtGox.

I'm just hoping this willl give us all a sense of how people have been affected thus far, and again hopefully show a positive result.

You can change your response based on the outcome of the appeal process if you've not yet Finished your claim.

EDIT: If you haven't checked your balances and log already, heres the link https://claim.mtgox.com/status.html thanks for reminding me zhalox!

Peace Out
190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wikipedia wants to delete Satoshi Nakamoto page on: June 24, 2011, 04:25:08 PM
I think he diffidently deserves a page, a small bio, some financial information, education, and a section on bitcoin. But the article as it stands is not wikipedia material, and yes his real name and as an extension of that, definitive information with cited sources are all very important.
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wikipedia wants to delete Satoshi Nakamoto page on: June 24, 2011, 04:15:06 PM
that looks like a detectives homework, not a wikipedia article.

Edit: and thus, yes i agree, it does somewhat warrant deletion
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lots of ignorance on the board on: June 24, 2011, 04:12:42 PM
You need to learn that right now, you've only given mtgox 1 week to secure a site from every hacker in the world. Hackers have broken security to the CIA, CITI bank, the UK census, Arizona police department, Sony, and others. To advocate opening mtgox before they're ready is the most ignorant idea conceived.

A week is still probably a bit short to implement a full enough rollback to restart trading, they couldnt possibly validate enough accounts. But besides that the main problem was that they first said 48 hours, and then postponed it day after day after day, these are timeframes that they themselves set, not anyone else. I'd be surprised if there arent even more time delays. They should have announced realistic times to get this operation completed to begin with.

PS use the one in my sig, i am also aiming for 100 (actually as much as i can get, but i dont pay anything, hah)
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt Gox opens in less that 5 hours. Anyone gotten a "Recovery Success" email? on: June 23, 2011, 10:37:55 PM
no.

They need to be more honest about what they're doing and how long its goind to take, they're acting like school children holding off finishing a project. We need a proper fucking time frame and some clear and definitive information, what hes given us so far is practically cryptic considering the seriousness of the situation.

It's OK to enter twice right?

Its better to enter twice, infact you should almost diffidently do it
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone received verification that the claim was successful? on: June 21, 2011, 09:44:14 PM
mtgox is down right now, my conspiracy theory; the domain was still compromised by the hackers, acting like Mark, phising passwords for more win.

Incorrect, since we contacted mtgox.com owner Mark with other channels too. And he is on IRC.

Unless he's entire computer was compromised - but then I really think he would be logging from some friends computer or a damn computer caffe already to tell us that Wink Or cell his hosting and fax them documents.

Hackers his door hacked down basement is and tied up him in there.
198  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Mt. Gox: If your coins were stolen, please write here on: June 21, 2011, 09:25:51 PM
Whats the story with the claims? I claimed about an hour after you started and nothing yet, but there was already threads on the other board of people having gotten their accounts back?
how about prioritizing  the folk who have half a years wages in your site, rather than randomly sorting out people with 20$ in there for the laugh?
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long do you reckon it will take until trading resumes? on: June 21, 2011, 08:35:49 PM
4 weeks 3 days, thats friday 22 july at some point... mark my words
200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone received verification that the claim was successful? on: June 21, 2011, 08:30:17 PM
Ugh! Getting this:

Quote
The password for this account is invalid, or this account is not currently under claim process.

Either because the new password I set prior to all the shenanigans was so strong that I'm not remembering it correctly or because of the latter part of that sentence, "this account is not currently under claim process." I'm not sure what that means. I'm pretty sure on my password. Don't know what's going on. I want my 3 BTC!

Im in a similar boat, with all the hype i changed my password the day before this happened, completley new one, so took me 2 tries to get correctly... i hope thats whats happening to you and you get back in.
