This is between you and the manager if you want to know why you need to contact them directly. No one here can help you other than the manager.
182  Other / Meta / Re: [paid spamming] Newbie Bump Bots post and delete thousands of posts per day on: May 19, 2018, 11:39:15 PM

-snip-

Mods: am I trusted enough for you to nuke those accounts if I provide lists like this, without further evidence? If so, I'll process other threads too.
I'm curious to see how quickly the next batch of bots starts spamming after these are nuked.
If bumpbots can be nuked fast enough, the spammers' business model becomes worthless. That leaves them spamming without deleting posts though, but that's something for another topic.

-snip-

Can't Loyce just be made a mod already? It's obvious to me that they know their stuff and are making the biggest effort out of anyone else on the forum to deal with spam in the altcoin sub forum.

Excluding existing mods of course.

184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can the volatility of Bitcoin be curbed? on: May 14, 2018, 08:13:27 PM
The only way we're going to get a stable price is from people not using it as an investment tool, and a day trading tool. But that's not going to happen until we fall down substantially, so who knows if that's going to happen. We would have to push for crypto as a currency, and we'd have to make the news for our acceptance and real life usage instead of price increases.

Get people and businesses interested in crypto the currency, and not the investment

You might be right but this would also have negative effects on the currency and adoption. For it to be successful and reach mainstream as some people are looking for it to do it would require investment and trading. If everyone held Bitcoin it just wouldn't work as there's not much demand. It no longer becomes a currency but an investment to sell on later if there's no daily trading of it.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash keys question on: May 14, 2018, 08:09:02 PM
No. If it's already been removed then you can't reclaim it again from a different wallet. Otherwise you could duplicate coins and effectively destroy the Bitcoin Cash market. It's probably a visual bug and if you try and withdraw any of the coins there will be an error.

If not and you can withdraw coins then you need to report this bug as soon as possible to prevent abuse.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to be used as world currency? on: May 14, 2018, 08:06:44 PM
World currency is a little too far in my opinion. This hasn't been achieved before as every country has it;s own currency. What I do think we'll see is new countries being founded which accept Bitcoin as their official currency. Maybe then in the future we'll see existing countries adopt Bitcoin as an official currency.

When Bitcoin gets closer to being completely mined I think we'll see Bitcoin become more accepted as a collectible rather than a currency though. As more and more coins would of been lost due to personal errors then and get deleted from the system. eventually following this pattern all coins will eventually be lost. Making the remaining ones more valuable but in the very long term dwindling it's existence.
187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can the volatility of Bitcoin be curbed? on: May 14, 2018, 08:01:38 PM
No in our life time. The closer we get to the coins being mined completely the more stable in theory it should get.

It's hard to see Bitcoin having a stable price until all coins are mined. With the supply and demand and circulation changing it's not easy or impossible to have a stable price for bitcoin. Sometime we've seen wallets , exchanges and certain ICO's put a average price for Bitcoin or ethereum to exchange  other than that any tokens price will be on rapid changes when they traded in the market.

Until all BTC are mined it will still be volatile. Best shot we have to see how a stable price for a crypto currency would work is check out the price change of a token or coin that's already fully pumped to the market. until that happens this advantage and disadvantage is here to stay.
You had it exactly right within your first sentence. Bitcoin will continue to be volatile and unpredictable until all coins have been mined. So basically what we are saying it that within your life time you won't see a stable and predictable Bitcoin.
188  Economy / Economics / Re: South Africa has a huge potential on: May 14, 2018, 07:59:38 PM
Highly doubt this number is even close to true, you have to think of where this data is coming from. Of course, from a pro crypto website, they're going to try to promote clickbaity headlines, like this one, in order to get people to go to the site itself. Yeah, maybe some people will go ahead and invest in crypto (like in all countries during runups in crypto)

But there is no way that 1 in 2 people are going to get in on it. That's insane to think about. The data is obviously BS.

Almost all data that you come across will be to some extent inaccurate. Data also depends on the amount of people they actually took the data off. Obviously the more the better and closer percentage you get.

50% isn't to unrealistic if you think about it and if it's conducted in a city where there's more wealthy people then your likely to have more investors.
189  Other / Meta / Re: Who is able and willing to moderate the Politics & Society section? on: April 17, 2018, 02:13:18 PM
It's evident that FlyingHellfish is the most appropriate for the job. It shows in the reports and to have that many reports just in that sub forum is quite impressive. I don't think Vod has enough time to commit to become a moderator and doubt he would be willing to ignore scams from the point of view of a moderator.

190  Other / Serious discussion / Re: What is your stance on capital punishment? on: April 17, 2018, 02:09:42 PM
It is not paradise. They are still locked in and have strict rules to follow. I dont think there are many who would actualy want to spend time there even if the inmates are treated with respect and dignity.
But as the norwegian jail is focused on rehabilitation and not just punishment prisoners have a higher chance of returning to the society without commiting new crime.
It may not be paradise but it's a surely better than some of the third world country prisons you come across there's some very nasty stories about how the prisoners get mistreated or even run the prison themselves. In the latter case that means the strong feed off the weak and the more serious criminals are likely running the place.

I would argue that some inmates don't want to leave prison. Sometimes it's because it's what they are used to and what they've grown up in. People often call it "being institutionalized". Some of course were sent to prison when the roads were much quieter and there was only a few cars around and the world being as it is right now with qualifications are needed for pretty much everything you can understand that they may not want to come into a society which they aren't used too and will get shunned because they have a criminal record. It's quite well documented that prisoners that have been released prison commit a crime just to get back in because they can't fit in. This was shown on Shawshank redemption. It may only be a movie but it takes it's influence from real life stories and if I recall it was based on a true story.
191  Other / Meta / Re: Soliciting opinions on how to deal with suspected merit abusers on: March 27, 2018, 10:33:52 PM
I think that admins need to state publicly that merit trding or selling is against the forum rules. At the moment, it seems that the only offence is for a merit source to sell merits.

Argh, no, don't do that! Not all trading of merit is merit trading, so to speak. I've merited people who have merited me because we were participating in a thread where we were all trying to solve various mining issues - I solved one issue and got merited, then the same person that merited me solved another issue so I merited him*. Of course, I freely admit that I was more inclined to merit someone who had merited me - that's just human nature - but said individual did, indeed, post something merit-worthy.

* - I was merited on this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2046072.msg30157009#msg30157009 & I merited the person who merited me for this post in the same thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2046072.msg30407678#msg30407678
That isn't selling merit though and I don't think selling or trading merit is the problem here. If there's a plausible reason why you've merited someone and you don't continue to do so then I'm sure trading merit to someone for helping you with a problem is fine. Unless it's a really simple problem and then it could become fishy but that's why it's very difficult to enforce merit being rewarded. People are going to give others merit who help them with their problems. By the way that response that you merited looks okay too me.

But the act of selling/trading merit out of gain should be banned for all members and not just merit sources.

In case you guys wondered, here is the overwhelming, undeniable evidence presented by the UK
during the meeting in the UK embassy, totally secret and all
https://www.kommersant.ru/docs/2018/UK_Briefing.pdf

feel free to try and find a single,I repeat a single piece of evidence pointing to Russia
oh except for  the:

We are without doubt that Russia is responsible. No country bar Russia has combined capability, intent and motive.
There is no plausible alternative explanation

•
As of Sunday 18 March, we count over thirty parallel lines of Russian disinformation

seriously, you got to be missing half a brain to believe in this (or be Theresa May,but I highly doubt she believes in this either and is not mutually exclusive,by the way)

They are using the awful reputation that Russia has been given over the years to make claims without backing them up. Let's just have a look at their bullet points and try and answer them without being too bias here.

Quote
Novichok is a group of agents developed only by Russia and not declared under the CWC
This at face value looks pretty bad on the Russian behalf. However I think we are forgetting that no one was caught in the act of this and this may have been obtained another way. Just because a nerve agent is only developed in one country doesn't mean that the formula isn't known by anyone else. Okay so maybe they've traced it back to Russia via other means and have evidence that they aren't providing that it came from Russia. But they haven't presented that so all we know is that Russia is the only known location that this is developed and it's likely that's where it came from. This doesn't prove that Russia used it.

Quote

explanation

This is bullshit. I'm not sure what they are talking about the capability to pull something like this off but it seems pretty amatuerish to me. Someone has poisoned a family with something which is traceable rather than dealing with it through other means which wouldn't be so easily traceable. Why would Russia use something which is developed only in their country.

Motive? There doesn't need to be a obvious motive or even a motive at all. People murder each other every day and it only takes someone within Russia to not take a liking to the victims to try something out. This doesn't mean it was sanctioned by Russia.

Then they bring up past "malign activity" that Russia has done/been apart of and try to suggest that there is a pattern. No there is no pattern in that whatsoever. I'm not going to defend Russia in any of these because let's be honest a lot of them were incredibly awful. But has anyone noticed that they've included the poisoning of sergei and his daughter in this little image? Yet I don't see 100% proof here and more speculation because of the origin of where the nerve agent comes from.

I'm sorry but we as the public should not accept assumption and should demand that a proper investigation is taken out and that EVIDENCE be provided instead of being spoon fed what they think happened and what is plausible. They haven't provided any evidence and are using the public perception of Russia to paint a picture and get the public to dislike them further. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas why evidence hasn't been given and we've been given this very brief (in terms of context) briefing.
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could bitcoin change our Future? on: March 27, 2018, 09:35:03 PM
Bitcoin has already changed our future. How? Well there's multiple ways but here's one; It's encouraged hardware manufacturers to come out with specialized equipment for mining Bitcoin which in turn has resulted in an advancement in technology in terms of computing power. Let's also look how the blockchain is being implemented by many different businesses there's been talk that several top level universities are going to be hosting public records on their own version of the blockchain.
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Share your BTC knowledge for Merits. How to earn Bitcoins on the Internet? on: March 27, 2018, 09:31:31 PM
Without investing it's quite hard and normally requires luck with the free rolls on a lot of the gambling websites. If you have nothing to invest at all then you need to look at the skills that you have. It's quite obvious when you have programming skills that you can offer those to people. But there's also other things that you could look at. Maybe you are a lawyer and could offer legal advice or you are a fitness guru and want to share your progress which you could make a blog about and then sell workout routines for Bitcoin.

Something that everyone can do though if they are part of this site is earn via writing articles about anything via steemit: https://steemit.com/

Basically you write articles that other people can upvote and the more upvotes you receive the higher the amount you earn. It becomes really addictive once you start getting people following you and upvoting your content.
195  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Is anonymity a good thing for Bitcoin? on: March 27, 2018, 09:11:18 PM
I like the way you are thinking about this rather than just agreeing with everyone else on the matter of anonymity. Personally though I would probably disagree with your point that some things just need to be public and others private. I value coins which have as much privacy as possible.

Yes it does have it's draw backs but there's ways of countering this. Only deal with registered businesses which the identity of the person is known. In many countries it is now law to register any businesses whether that is a Bitcoin businesses or one trading in other currencies.

Developers can't do everything for it's users and requires diligence from it's users and them making their own decisions.
Quote
Just a thought - I'm sure there are plenty of privacy advocates would be horrified - but remember, I'm talking about a very narrow, completely transparent use case.

It might be a more popular opinion than your leading on here. It's not limited to privacy advocates but at the end of the day Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are normally used because they are transparent in that they are traceable via the blockchain but don't give away any personal data which I think is something which should be encouraged in all fields.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: March 01, 2018, 06:22:05 PM
The new buy / sell template has been released today!

For those of you using the BitBay Marketplace Client (and that should be all of you Cheesy) simply open the client and a pop-up will tell you how to update to the latest version.
If you need any help with the update, please head over to the official forum @ https://forum.bitbay.market and we'll help you out.

Here's our latest Twitter campaign for those of you who haven't seen it yet: https://twitter.com/BitBayofficial/status/969209822435520514

Thanks!

Very nice to see progress being made. The price on this coin reacts very well with the market, when the market is optmistic this coin gain value very fast,
the price is a little down now, from the all time highs, but itīs maintaning a good price, not dumped like other coins Smiley

Drops are to be expected with any coin. Bitpbay has always had these drops and much more significant ones in it's history. It's a shame that this sub forum has gone haywire with spam because this is being drowned out by the rest of the garbage posted here.

ICO would hurt the project. Big advantage right now is no ICO. Year ago? perhaps, but there is no need to chase dead trends.

Besides icos only bring in people looking to earn a quick buck and will cause much stability issues which could cause the project to lose it's value that it's worked so hard to get.
197  Other / Meta / Re: What you need to write to get Merit on: March 01, 2018, 06:19:59 PM
the merit system shouldn't discourage users to share their view on things either. You make thing someone may not agree with your post? Do not worry it's not like down votes are a thing in this forum yet. As long as you are posting up to date relevant information and most importantly original content then you should expect to pickup merit points along the way. You shouldn't expect to gain several hundred merit points in a small time frame unless you have contributed greatly.

The merit system it working as a whole although it has caused a few little problems here and there like for instance many people are copy and pasting older topics or older replies and trying to pass them off as their own. This is quickly being regonised and dealt with either by defaulttrust or the moderators.

maybe what we should consider is a system where people who do not have merit can flag a post up for review by a merit source. I think this way merit sources wouldn't have to worry about finding posts actively and can rely on the rest of the community to find them and their job would only be to distribute them fairly.
198  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ''provably fair'' on: March 01, 2018, 06:14:36 PM
The name "Provably fair" means it's already been publicly disclosed that their code is fair and therefore proved that it is fair. Now I'm now sure how this is checked and how we can assure that their code hasn't changed since releasing this information but thats why I would only ever recommend gambling on registered companies or sites like stake.com
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is anyone active on Steemit? on: March 01, 2018, 06:10:48 PM
putting your steemit in your signature space might help you get those extra viewers. I don't write for steemit but am always looking for quality content posted about altcoins. I'll check out your account and hopefully you have got some good content.

How much do you earn per post?
It usually hovers between $1 - $5, but I've only been blogging for about 1 month. I don't really post too much about altcoins, mostly very diverse content.
I'm already part of a campaign on this forum, so my signature space is taken. Might consider changing it in the future though.

What is steemit can you please explain what is it? Because it keeps on my mind and i research about it but its still hard to understand the purpose of that

Users can write articles about cryptocurrency and possibly other topics and receive money per view? I think it's per view but could be mistaken there. Generally people post guides on how to do things but I think reviews may be allowed too.

It's a good little earner if you are good at writing and have a good knowledge of the subject.

Any kind of topic is allowed on Steemit. There are people who use it liek Instagram and post personal blogs and pictures.
The earnings are per upvote, not per view.

Yeah I only ever read topics about alternate currencies and Bitcoin. I don't own an account there I just read by visiting the page. I'm guessing only members who have earned on the site can up vote topics? I'll consider looking into it and participating myself.

I guess this can't be used as a full time wage but more of a hobby which pays so if you enjoy writing informative posts or anything of that sort then it could be beneficial.
