81  Other / Meta / Re: AI Bot on the forum? on: June 24, 2018, 06:53:39 AM
Maybe he is getting bored playing with alt-account and back using his main account,

*kidding,

But seriously, somehow I always think that nullius is alt-account of some High Ranked, 'ancient' member of this Forum. Only to show that Merit system actually works.

A high ranked old member that supports the forum? Most of them left because of the spam issues. I do not think that he is an alternate account but he obviously has read the forum for a long time.
82  Other / Meta / Re: Has the Merit faucet dried up? Solutions? on: June 21, 2018, 03:19:25 PM

The fact that they have no knowledge is not a problem. Its their willingness to learn about it and ask the right questions and participate in discussions intellectually which will then be rewarded with merit points/

If everyone was as knowledgeable as the developers of bitcoin then there would be no worthy discussion on the forum.
Yes, and according to the script, after the discussion, merit sources will favor + merit for those who answer, help (senior members) .... in the discussion, not for questioners (newbie, jr ...).

Although after the discussion, people who ask questions and learn what they need to know will understand everything (may not be understood at all). But that does not mean that they will be distributed merit for asking good questions!

It is the difference between having knowledge and having no knowledge. Just as in real life, people with good knowledge, graduates from big universities, etc... will find it easier to earn better jobs and salaries than those who only finish high school.

That is something that needs to be addressed. I will admit though that I have not seen that many unique questions and most of them are just repeated questions that have been answered several times already.

Graduates dont find it easier theres several different studies which support this and only prestigious degrees actually allow you too. Engineering for example is much more sought after than a degree in history.

I think at least 70% of the users of this forum have no or very little knowledge regarding Crypto in general. Their only purpose is to join Bounty, Airdrop and cheat those things to make money.
Those people have crushed the few who really admired Crypto. And a newbie, despite having a good post, a good idea, a high help response ... can answer questions or solve problems for those people ... but will not receive any merit.
This forum is also very classy, I can feel the contempt of senior members with newbie (though not the majority).
Therefore, do not expect the senior members to share their merit to the Newbie, Jr ... if there are also just a few rare exceptions like you for your great efforts.
Not everyone can do the same, because of the limited knowledge and ability as well as the rigidity of higher level members.

The fact that they have no knowledge is not a problem. Its their willingness to learn about it and ask the right questions and participate in discussions intellectually which will then be rewarded with merit points/

If everyone was as knowledgeable as the developers of bitcoin then there would be no worthy discussion on the forum.
84  Other / Meta / Re: Has the Merit faucet dried up? Solutions? on: June 21, 2018, 01:10:41 PM
Merit definitely improves the quality of the forum. But getting it task is not easy. Align this situation could be through regulation (Merit for the time of activity on the forum). What do you think?

This would defeat  the purpose of having the merit system in the first place. Before the merit system this is how ranking worked through activity. It is suppose to be not easy to get merit as it is suppose to promote good quality posters and reward them for that.
85  Other / Meta / Re: Common shared account for bounty management allowed? on: June 21, 2018, 03:23:58 AM
How are bans (and subsequent ban evasions) handled in case of such shared accounts?

Bumping this old thread because the account created by OP/their friend is currently affected by such a ban,
and I'm unsure about the ban evasion happening as a result.

I would assume that by sharing an account you are accepting the responsibility of everyone that logs into that account and any alternate accounts that you have or anyone that has accessed that account would then be considered ban evading. Otherwise it would just be too difficult to prove who the person was posting at the time of the ban.
86  Other / Meta / Re: How long I can have sMerits? on: June 21, 2018, 02:51:27 AM
About this decayed merit. Previously I'm a sMerit decaying supporter, however now that I have some sMerit to spend, I have a different opinion. It's rather difficult to get merit, therefore, I treat sMerit with extreme caution. I gave the majority of my sMerit to the one who is worthy of it, so my spending rate is a little bit slow. And this will make sMerit build-up in this account. I'm a bit reluctant to spend it just because it has a deadline.

I doubt if decaying merit if introduced would be on a tight deadline. I would think it would be wiped every year or so allowing more than enough time for someone to get rid of their hard earned sMerit.

I do not see it getting introduced though as its not really a big issue imo.
87  Economy / Reputation / Re: Quickseller receives 20BTC, does not do work, keeps $ **not disputed!** on: June 21, 2018, 02:16:51 AM
I sent them his info, the report from his coworker, the ripoff cache and the 4chan archived thread

If they can't come up in finding a crime they may investigate his online activity, I will make a report to some of the major ISPs in Canada just to draw more attention to it

That site is complete bullshit that does not provide any bit of proof what so ever. The only thing it does do is claim that Vod is and does not back it up with anything. Just because something is on a website does not mean it is valid.

Also the comments section looks like complete bullshit to me too. None of the comments are verified via ID and could very easily be faked. Just have a look at it and you can post a comment if you wanted too.

ISPs? What are they going to do? If there was any substance to any of these claims Vod would of been in an ongoing investigation with the authorities and if a few people from the internet can gather 'evidence' then the authorities would of already nailed him.

Give up spreading false information. Its the lowest of the lows to accuse someone of something like this.
88  Economy / Auctions / Re: Sr. Member account on: June 21, 2018, 01:45:00 AM
I'm not interested to buy account, but can you tell me, how this account can be potential Hero Member if it doesn't have 500 Merit.
And I'm wondering why nobody didn't gave you negative trust rating to you. Or is it OK when trusted user selling bitcointalk account?
I brought this up the other day: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4476583.msg40300093#msg40300093

Since then it appears that The Pharmacist has now removed his negative rating that I swear I remember seeing on there. I'm not sure why he's done that?

89  Economy / Reputation / Re: Quickseller receives 20BTC, does not do work, keeps $ **not disputed!** on: June 21, 2018, 01:11:33 AM
Vod is also a pedophile not only a shitposter, I saved the cache of the report on ripoff and already reported him on the following websites:

http://www.solvecrime.ca/
http://vancouver.ca/police/contact/report-a-crime.html

I suggest everyone to do the same make a research yourself on google or ask me in pm

And what evidence have you supplied to them? Because I might be missing something here but it looks like you are blindly following the accusations rather than validating the proof (there is no proof)

Your negative trust that you left on Vod doesn't back up anything either and just makes people laugh at the poor attempt of slandering someone. All those comments on that site scream out fake.
90  Economy / Reputation / Re: Quickseller receives 20BTC, does not do work, keeps $ **not disputed!** on: June 21, 2018, 12:31:04 AM
The specific reason I do not want to state publicly would not affect my reputation, and would make Vod look bad....although I don't particularly like Vod, I think this is the right thing to do.  Given sufficient pressure from those whose opinions I value (and Vod), I may change course. I would give particular weight to Vods pressure because it involves him personally. I will give no weight to what idiots like o_e_l_e_o and suchmoon have to say.
Quickseller dude you can't claim that you won't state things publicly which would make Vod look bad when you have already called him a pedophile in public and may I add without any evidence to back up that claim at all. Not only have you made a bold statement but you have not backed it up with a single piece of evidence either.

Then  you have the audacity to say you won't state anything publicly because it would make Vod look bad. I'm sorry but  Huh Huh Huh Huh

91  Other / Meta / Re: SPAMBOT hunting: report spambot promoted threads on: June 21, 2018, 12:24:50 AM
Can we not just ban certain phrases to avoid this problem? Maybe not the "What will u do with unsold tokens?" but other phrases such as the "great project" or maybe setup a bot which automatically deletes these sort of messages.
92  Other / Meta / Re: Has the Merit faucet dried up? Solutions? on: June 20, 2018, 11:44:26 PM
So it will take me a year atleast to become a merit source. Nice.
Not really 4 months is not even half of the year and I would think that looking in depth in someones merit history to determine whether they are meriting to the standard of the other merit sources is a pretty time consuming thing to do. theymos probably checks for several other factors too.
93  Other / Meta / Re: Has the Merit faucet dried up? Solutions? on: June 20, 2018, 11:07:01 PM
(*) merit sources pump newly created merit into the system, but are also making up for the mass of airdropped initial merit which has not even started to see the light (600k initial sMerit airdrop and only 171k merited in txs - and from that we should substract the part that came from merit sources and halved merit, so at least 450k roughly is static).
Perhaps the initial projections have not been met, since most of the airdropped sMerit has not been placed into it’s initial run, and thus merit sources are relied upon to make up for it with an overhead in work.
That is the merit sources job though they are the ones which should be actively looking for posts to reward. Anyone else who earns sMerit or has their initial sMerit might not have the time to merit so that 600k will not be fully used.

Merit sources are selected because they are active and know how what is a good post and what is not. The majority of us who have the initial sMerit either do not have the time or only look at certain boards where there is not that many good posts.
94  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: For Newbies Like Me : It's not all about the ranks and merits. on: June 19, 2018, 08:10:12 PM
Your posts are pretty good and you preach some good things that a lot of people do not follow and wonder why they do not have any merits. But you need to work a little more on your formatting as its still very difficult to read. Break it into more paragraphs maybe?
95  Economy / Reputation / Re: Quickseller receives 20BTC, does not do work, keeps $ **not disputed!** on: June 19, 2018, 07:34:53 PM
Briefly messaged Quickseller last night.

Has has ZERO interest in returning the stolen coins, and is just waiting for everyone to get forget so he can once again claim he has never scammed.  :/

I feel as long as you and some other key members are around and fighting against that he has no chance of anyone forgetting. I do not understand why you are still messaging expecting different results though.
96  Other / Meta / Re: One small Forum improvement on: June 17, 2018, 09:32:05 PM
I see this situation, that's why i offer this. It is a bit tiring to open and read so much worthless topics in most of forum brunches, isn't it?
It is just laziness. If everyone had this attitude there would be no posts merited to be able to filter out because they would be relying on others finding good quality posts. If you aren't reading the whole thread then your part of the problem.

You could call it like this if you want. As for me it is normal that the community estimate usefulness of information that is written here. I don't want to make unmerited post invisible (may be make it optional) but mark useful post a bit more.

I guess you don't agree that a lot of post/replies on this forum are not worth reading Roll Eyes(doubled, stupid, meaningless, just for bounty and etc)?

I agree that the at least half of the posts on this forum are worthless however in its current state there are not enough posts being merited to make this is worth while. Once there are more merit sources and more posts being merited then this could be a good idea.
97  Other / Meta / Re: Most of bounty manager's are too careless about scam ICO. on: June 17, 2018, 08:57:39 PM
First thing first, bounty participants are too careless when it comes to things like finding a legit ICO.If you are going to spend a few weeks/months advertising someone, you should at least take 10 minutes out of your copy-pasting life to check if they're promoting a legit company. Reputed bounty managers will do their homework but what if a bounty is managed by someone new to the forum? Their reputation/experience wouldn't count hence bounty participants shouldn't blindly advertise whatever they see.
That is because it's a very difficult task to find a ICO which is worth your investment. There is too many ICOs out there that are using underdog tactics like bumping topics using alt accounts that those are the ones which get the exposure. Unfortunately these are the ones which normally end up fetching a price because of the hype. They are also the ones which are most common to run away with the money after they dump their stakes themselves.
98  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to prevent 51% ATTACK on new coin on: June 17, 2018, 08:12:43 PM
Merged mining would be difficult with a new coin. Theres many different coins coming out and to be able to gain enough interest for merged mining to be a viable option it would require releasing the coin and gaining traction before doing it which means within the initial launch until the time you get enough attention and people willing to do merged mining it would still be vulnerable to a 51% attack.
99  Other / Meta / Re: Most of bounty manager's are too careless about scam ICO. on: June 17, 2018, 07:40:20 PM
Do you think that those fake future tellers that promise to bring back the person you lost or those people who sell 'magic' pills from all deciases to pensioners care much more about all those poor people who are going to be scammed, than those people who promote scam ICO? No. It's just business. Nothing is going to be changed.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't try to change things for the better. I do not think your example has much credibility too because future tellers are commonly called out to be immoral and scams. Unless they clearly state that its for a little fun but as soon as they go onto making promises and telling you are going to have misfortune its immoral.

100  Other / Meta / Re: Most of bounty manager's are too careless about scam ICO. on: June 17, 2018, 07:00:52 PM
Anyone can buy a Full Member account or above, or just hire someone to do it for them and this is what usually happens.
Then how do we tackle this problem? We have newly created accounts opening campaign threads which even if they were to be negative trusted or banned they would just make a new account and start all over again.

At least if they bought an account they would then have to buy another one if they get negged. I think very few people would be willing to do this and once someone has invested in something they normally take a little bit more pride in it and it might encourage them to moderate their campaigns more.
