Quantitative software, actually led to a lot of data inductive trading, investment is becoming convenient, a huge return on investment, a lot of people themselves through quantitative tools for learning, if the project has invested for the purpose, may be better quantitative software directly to market sales.

Did they announce anything why it was like that? Any explanation? Nope, Nada, Zip. There are two kinds of companies. Those that admit they've been hacked, and those that don't. Opinions are like assholes, they all stink. That's my stench. I use Polo for some coins, and i would like to know if i should continue using them.  Bittrex is the only other exchange I half trust. Their fee structure is significantly higher. We now "sweep" all accounts to USD, nightly (like many "day traders" in the equities markets do). And any accumulated coin is stored in our wallets on secure servers (something we know a little something about). |

Sold ZEC.
Withdrew BTC.

BTC/ZEC dropped to about half.
Lost $$$ on this, GROWL.

OMG, stop with this FUD about Poloniex being a scam. This is exchange with over 400 million dollars turnover every day, what are you even talking about.
Yes, they have problems. Yes, their support is really bad latterly. Yes, they need to communicate more with people. But all these are common problems for exchanges. Stop believing in every post you see on the forum, there are many people that want to discredit Polo or any other exchange.
So let's see. . . 2 Sr Members raise a flag or question a recent problem with an exchange and we're immediately trolls. Well this troll, a company who mines for profit, has coin sitting in a t address at Polo and their wallet is unavailable (going on 11 days). But the're still taking/accepting mined coin. They previously have responded to tickets promptly. Now we get automated responses which contain no pertinent information regarding the submitted ticket. And just for the record we are not a "new account" nor are we newbies to crypto currency mining. "You can ignore reality. They're change in behavior is the type of behavior that failing exchanges/mining pools exhibit. Time will tell if they "pull it together", but we're not taking that bet with our coin. Update: Just logged into our Polo account and underwent a login verification. Typically, this crap only occurs when exchanges are reacting to a problem and are trying to verify account holder information. |

Hi All,
Same issue here. Mined two LTC blocks and still waiting for my wallet to be credited. The blockexplorer showed the money getting to them and the money was in my wallet on explorer and confirmed. Never appeared at Poloniex and then earlier today they disabled Litecoin wallet and they now up again but still no money. It appears this is the norm.
I have opened a ticket after waiting and am now on day 2 waiting for a reply. Curious to see if anyone has had any similar issues when mining to Poloniex?
Does anyone recommend any other wallets that are good for LTC and DASH mining?
Curious to see if anyone has had there issues resolved.
Ironically Cody must have been working today as I received a reply for at ticket I opened on June 6th, but the MORE IMPORTANT issue was ignored.

No resolution here. 5 days and counting since ticket submission. We are mining to our Zcash wallet, accumulating ZEC. Another participant here recommended Bittrex for ZEC/BTC trading, we're looking into it. Typically, we expect to trade ZEC for ~09% - ~15% of the spot price of BTC. Less than 09% and we'll hold it and wait for a spike. Don't do LTC/DASH so I'm of no help there. Sorry. We traded (notice the past tense) on Polo because they're an American company (as are we) incorporated in DE. As such they're subject to American Corporate Law. We are not opposed to "lawyering up" and suing they're asses off, as we would with any other common thief. One of our attorney's, come to think of it, has their offices in Dover on the Capitol Green. They are very familiar with corporate law and class action suits, amongst other things. They are expensive, but they get stuff done in a hurry, and are worth every penny. Also have contacts in FBI Cyber Crimes Div. and Internal Revenue. For us, this WILL be resolved favorably just like our "interactions" with Mt. Gox and Butterfly Labs. Suffice to say, this is NOT our first rodeo. To those that PM'ed, thanks for the response(s). |

Polo has been down for us for 3 days.
Have a lot of coin (Zcash) sitting in limbo waiting for them to get their poop in order.
Created a ticket and got an automated incomplete response, i.e. they had no clue when their Zcash wallet was going to be functional.
Currently mining to our own wallet accumulating coin.
I need recommendations for other exchanges to trade Zcash to BTC.
I smell a Mt. Gox coming

God bless this topic, I enjoyed a lot. I am from and live in a Middle Eastern country. We have good electricity fees here for industrial sector. But industry is f*d up, business is f*d up , politics is corrupted, government is ruined totally, .... the worst corner of the hell, the Middle Hell.
I think btc is (or can be) a relief and mining is a door, the right one for us to begin entering to the btc world. We (millions of educated people here) need bitcoin community's help and you need ours as well:
We can and must take part in the decentralization agenda of the bitcoin community, by our energy, by our money, by our knowledge and human resources.
We can beat Chinese or participate in beating them, they subsidize electricity? We own the source of their electricity.
We should start and for this we need help. We can't pay 2K$ to buy an already retired off-the-shelf Chinese miner hardware and wait for the halving , the difficulty to raise or some btc price drop to set us up. I can't convince people here to invest in the darkness, they won't. We need a certain minimum level of mastering and enough options and space to maneuver. We have to customize, to have the ability and the option to customize the technology.
For the moment I am deeply interested in this 'sidehack project'. Unfortunately I couldn't be able to put together a good conclusive answer to my following questions (a lot of slang has been used, not a good practice for an international forum, though):
1- How can we define the ultimate, big picture target of the project today, after all discussions and improvements?
2- In what specific stage are we at the moment?
3- How can one contribute (financially, technically, ... )?
I am deeply familiar with Blockchain and bitcoin/altcoin technology and terminology but It would be highly appreciated if somebody please give me brief answers (from a technical/philosophical/social/economical/... perspective ) to the above questions using a formal plain language and literature. I need to know about this project's potentials to be hired as a platform for my plan to start a campaign for coordinating people's knowledge and financial resources here to take a role in the btc movement.
BTW, my response was not meant to be belittling, caustic, or condescending. So if I came off that way, my apologies. Your first couple of sentences pegged it. Problem is there's little we "small guys" can do to fight the 800 lbs gorilla. Wish there was. |

Waiting/pursuing a stable supply of "state-of-art" SHA256 hash chips. 3- How can one contribute (financially, technically, ... )?
3a: Financial: Design, produce, and make available a reasonably priced 12nm-16nm SHA256 hash chip. 3b. technically: create a driver module for that mythical chip that can be forked into the cgminer development effort. Stated simply: if sidehack had a stable supply chain for a hash chips, 3 months out, the community would have a miner that would "BLOW THE DOORS OFF" anything offered by any other manufacturer. And I believe this is what frightens the current ilk of suppliers. It's not a technical issue/problem, it's a power/control over the BTC mining environment issue/problem. I guess it would technically be possible to have a "0nm" chip based on some futurisitic quantum design that takes on an entirely different form than anything currently.
The problem is, it becomes a 0.01nm chip upon observation and self annihilates  Or thanks to quantum fluctuation the gates decide to often be somewhere else when observed eg read or written to  [/quote String Theory Miner: That's where the vendor takes your BTC and tells you your miner is in dimension #11. Once again, this is stuff I can bite into. My 40+ years experience in the IT community was mostly coding and network design/trouble shooting. 0 experience in chip fab. Last degree was a business admin degree. So I tend to look at things from a cost/benefit perspective. "Perfect would be one, which is in your neighbourhood or at least in the same time zone." " www.uniquify.com (did the design for Hastfast) www.open-silicon.com (did the design for Cointerra) Both are located in CA. Probably not the best examples looking at how the stories ended. " Maybe they learned from their "mistakes". Another one in US (also CA) is www.esilicon.com"But in principle I doubt that any of these companies would implement a 0.1 J/GH ASIC for you below $1M for design services (this does not include the mask costs), if they are interested at all." Big money doesn't scare me. Big money outlays with a high likelyhood of a negative ROI does. "The reason for this is that there are no low hanging fruits anymore. If you want to be successful with a new BTC ASIC, many custom CAD monkeys have to work really hard, because any competitive ASIC has to be implemented based on custom digital design techniques to reach 0.1 J/GH. It is easier to reach this target based on 16nm, but probably not impossible in 28/22/20nm. Anyway it would require very high effort, compared to the first ASICs which hit the market in 2013." Paraphrased: It's a bitch to implement a competitive design in 16nm, and hence, expensive. Given the $13/chip price (versus $4-$6 that was hoped for and assuming they are ever available for sale to the general public, i.e. sidehack et. al.) this "loosens up" the requirements of initial cost outlay. i.e if a comparable (or enhanced) design could make it to the street for, say, $8-$10 / chip (and a whore-ish attitude to sell them to anyone in any quantity) that sounds or "smells" like a business opportunity to me. My initial projections of $2M to get 500,000 chips in hand, based on the best information at hand, is/was obviously WAY LOW. But the MSRP of that concept was in the $2-$6 each range. If the MSRP gets bumped up to $8-$10 each, then the requisite increase in initial outlay could be warranted. It'll make reaching the "critical mass" initial funding more difficult, but might not be un-doable. Maybe I'm over simplifying things here, but if 500,000 chips costs $8 each and one marks them up $1 each that sounds like 12.5% ($500,000) gross. In an E-business sales model most of that drops to the "bottom line" (net) and could be used to "seed" the next project. |

... it would be better to cooperate with a IC design service company at least for the first project. You bring the chip concept and architecture, they help you to design, manufacture, package and test it.
Recommendations of companies that have experience in BTC chip design? From my point of view, it is almost impossible to build up the required competences from scratch, despite you hire some experienced IC designers in your company.
Had a hunch that chip fab was a "black art" with few knowledgeable participants. We cannot support a $500K budget for tools much less the employee expense to operate said tools. Where is your company located?
North Central US (North Central Minnesota, near Leech Lake to put a finer point on it). Considering the ~$1,000 per die prototype expense, the packaging seems cheap. Is there any advantage to not packaging the prototypes? |

Since it's obvious I couldn't find my ass with a map in the chip fab world, how about clarifying a couple of things: 50 prototype dies, unpackaged, untested
"unpackaged" means the bare die with no carrier? right? 48,000EUR for up to 3mm2 plus 16,000EUR per each additional mm2.
"3mm 2" is the die size? What is "... the required CAD/toolchain" to design (tape out?) something like sidehack was proposing? We, as a company, have a couple of other chip concepts outside the crypto currency world. If the cost of the S/W isn't to prohibitive and we knew what we were looking for/pricing we might spring for it. Thanks in advance. |
