taking over auroracoin?

sounds like splitting apart the community...

That would not be splitting up the community. This is what Baldur wanted all along and that is what we are doing. There is nobody that is against us in this in the sense they are working in another direction.

Our new forum is hosted on auroraspjall.is

Very nice and I understand, but society need last stage airdrop - only this way make sense for auroracoin. What you think, any chance to realize?

I personally think that the last stage is not that important. The claims have been very few and a lot of them have been the same people buying up the claims from others cheap and selling on Cryptsy. What I do think is important now is for Baldur to do one of the following.
  • Renew the domain
  • Hand over the domain to the group
  • Give the group a link to the claim site that we can use from a new website we are making
  • burn the rest of the premine.

All the members from our group have sent Baldur a request for this and we are now waiting for a response or action. I have never doubt Baldur to burn the rest of the premine but it seems that it might have to happen sooner than planed but we will see.
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: December 22, 2014, 04:04:59 PM
Facts:
1. auroracoin.org domain has expired and in social media we don't have any info what next
2. last stage airdop is not realized - premine adresses still have auroracoins
3. www.aurorapr.co.vu is not official auroracoin website, we don't have any info from official social media about this situation.

If auroracoin die now, thats be very sad, because I believie in this idea and I start create software solutions for aurioracoin, but I waiting for last stage airdrop.

Anyway, shit sometimes happend. I still waiting what next with last stage airdrop and website www.auroracoin.org

There is a group of people working on taking over the Auroracoin project. We have not announced it officially as we have been organising and doing some ground work like working on an isk-aur exchange in Iceland, updating the core code and many other projects that will make a strong foundation for the future development of the coin. We have set up a forum since the official one was taken down and since the website has been taken down we are working on securing a domain and setting up a new page. You are welcome to check out our new forum and ask all the questions you have there. Our new forum is hosted on http://auroraspjall.is

this is another adress that received 5 airdrops today
51000 coins from airdrops in total:

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/aur/address.dws?AYEkRf9fNbLVkCTjHBpKHZD1X578TaYK6g.htm

this one received 11 airdrops in 3 days:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/aur/address.dws?Ack19fieKXnBJBowaZpSAkpgub9FTdorFM.htm

It looks like these people have access to multiple I'd numbers and are claiming them illegally.

Think about it, is it possible that someone interested in Crypto is using one address to claim 11 times. Perhaps he/she is getting social id # from his family and spouses of the family, its not a conspiracy.

Also a lot of people donate their coins to some charity. So those addresses should see a lot of claims being sent to them directly.

185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: November 29, 2014, 12:08:11 AM
I have created a facebook group for everyone interested in helping with the development of this coin in one way or another.

Anyone interested please send me a pm.

ha!
So we have to just trust Balduro he is not claiming for himself millions?
Are you kidding me?
And him being so anon and not around does have nothing to do with that, right?

was diggin around the chain und guess what? Exactly what i anticipated: the group of people claiming is rather small. There is HEAPS of adresses claiming many times.

This adess is second layer:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/aur/address.dws?AXuwBHwM44NZ2cuYqB3a3hWk8XVC4zo4n2.htm

25000 coin in airdrop collect in this adress. And that popped up from 3 minutes scanning the chain!
This adress actually received 71k coins from airdrops!

Dude, can't be serious.

The chain must be full of such adresses. This explains of course why everyone is deaf to the warning and reasoning to cut the airdrop.
Biggest scam in altcoins to date!

EPIC proportions of this scam. It's staggering!

If some address is getting 25.000 AUR I'm sure this someone is paying 40 people in their school / workplace 2.000 ISK for their social id # and is claiming for them.

There are also a lot of people on Facebook paying people directly for their aur claim. My guess would be that this address is owned by one of those people.

i'll be checking back here tomorrow. Hope you got Balduro or someone else who is in charge in here to answer some questions.

I try to answer what I can of your questions but up till now you haven't really asked any real questions except in the form of FUD so I didn't really think it was worth an answer. Thought about explaining to you how to read a block explorer but then your FUD just kept on rolling so I decided not do. If you do really intend to have legit questions that really can be answered then please do.

no, my exact and most pressing question is: who is controling it? Who is checking on things being legit? How do we know beyond a doubt balduro is not claiming 5 million coins for himself?

Thats better Smiley

All good and legit questions.

Who is controlling it?
The person or group that calls itself balduro. Other than that I do not know myself.

Who is checking on things being legit?
I know just from my environment that a lot of people here have claimed. Actually the claim rate for this third phase of the airdrop was extremely slow to start and it wasn't until it was blasted on some facebook groups that the claim rate started to pick up for this phase.

Just look at it this way. If this was really a scam balduro would have sold the premine on the market in the beginning when the price of the coin was in the tens of dollars. He would have had more out of this for just a fraction of the premine than he would have for the total supply today. You can still check the premine addresses and see the amount untouched matches the amount that should be left taken into account what has been distributed so far.

Regarding the transactions you pointed out in the block explorer it only shows that there were 13 claims handled in that block which is not really abnormal. The large amount you saw being transferred is easily explained. When an claim is done the mechanism that takes care of the airdrop clearly sends 636 coins to the claimers address and the rest of the coins from the origin address to a new address. So if you look at the transactions carefully you can see that the receiving address gets the same sum of coins that were sent from the origin address minus the 636 coins and that this address is the origin address in the next transaction and the same thing happens all over again.

How do we know beyond a doubt balduro is not claiming 5 million coins for himself?
I know this is difficult to accept but you would have to take the word from some Icelandic people on this. Who can confirm what I'm saying regarding the distribution here. Other things can be seen in the blockchain.

I'm sorry if I didn't answer this fully for you but you are welcome to point out what you would like me to comment more on.

Hi!
Please add my pool in OP http://aikapool.com/aur

P.S. Almost all pools non-working! I ask to clean the list for miners!

We are working on getting access to edit this thread. If we do the OP will be updated or we will create a new thread for this coin.

191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: November 28, 2014, 09:15:28 PM
i am looking directly at the transactions as they happen. 636 are given out.

dozens last hour. Hundreds probably today

look at this block last hour. 4 million coin in it.
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/aur/block.dws?75919.htm

what's that shit? Explanation please?

one reoccuring number in all these blocks is 636 so i assume that's the airdrop amount. Don't give me bullshit because it won't do.

this block 13 times 636 in a single block
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/aur/block.dws?75888.htm

since when is your little 'phase 3' running? Today? Yesterday? And how do you know about phases of the drop when nobody is in charge apparently?

You're trying to play hide and seek here with a whole nation?

Where is the accounability for the airdrop? Where does one get questions answered about it? You think you can fool people like that?

The airdrop is explained here http://auroracoin.org/blueprint.php

Wow. Guess you need to go all in with your $6.500 and show the communists how capitalism works.

350$ invested is enough now to aquire a position that is sufficient to move the market, break trends, cause selloffs and so on later. 350$ invested is enough to gain decent control of this market for a good trader.

Later when the exchange is finished we will have a completely different market though. The real value of the coin will be seen then.

Of course I'm not saying that launching a market by it self is enough. There would need to be some active advertising and education for this coin and just cryptos in general happening as well. That should be the main focus of the auroracoin dev group. close to 20.000 addresses still have their coins from the original airdrop. That means that it would not be so difficult to get those people active given the opportunity to buy, sell and use the coin here in Iceland. When the exchange is ready we are likely to see much less if any leak of auroracoin from Iceland and have the ability to get people here involved.

You seem to have strong opinions and experience with cryptocurrencies and clearly an intelligent man. I would love for your constructive advice and discussion on these matters. Lets not go down to the level of calling people idiots. Yes? Smiley

Hi Skarfur, can you explain to me why you would discuss and argue with someone clearly in this only for personal short term profit, while others (like myself) have been going out of their way to support and offer help on the long term haven't even been shortly addressed? i'm slowly starting to lose interest this way, sorry...

Sorry about that LTEX. I've just had a limited time here the last couple of days and to answer you clearly needed and deserved a bigger reply.

193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: November 28, 2014, 06:30:48 PM
20.000 people claimed? In your dreams. 10.000 of those is balduro himself very likely. Why else would he be hiding? Why else would the drop not be cut down? I don't have any other explanation for this whole situation.
I would strongly recommend to icelanders to not invest any money in this since it is a totally shady shitcoin by now. Trying to get this adopted by icelanders is even unethical.

This is nothing but pump and dump, believe me swetheart.

Well I live in Iceland and I'm fairly sure that this claimrate is correct. We had a lot of discussion and media coverage on Auroracoin at the time of the initial airdrop.

someone else does. I'm just trading in the shadow of the smart money while you dream of pink unicorns.

Guys. I don't think we really need to be arguing here.

We all have the right to our opinions. No one who is active on this board has any power to change the airdrop anyway so no reason to argue about it. What we can do on the other hand is try to work on building a foundation for this coin. We can all agree on that, yes?

196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: November 27, 2014, 12:18:07 AM
The AUR price action on Cryptsy feels like coins are being dumped in quantity. Not that I'm opposed to picking up some cheap coins, but I wonder if more are being claimed than we think.

I'm thinking that the volume would rather indicate that someone was expecting the price to drop because of the airdrop and wanted to sell before the price went down. The volume is much higher than what has been claimed in this phase of the airdrop and the time when the majority of the coins were sold is between 6-8:00 in the morning here, which would make it very unlikely that it was someone from here selling.

197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: November 26, 2014, 08:44:15 PM
Hey molecular, is it totally impossible for me now
to get the coins of 2nd phase which I missed ?

Good luck, g

I have no idea. I'm not involved in running anything airdrop-related. I would assume, though, that airdrops 1 and 2 are over now and no more coins can be claimed from them.

All right. I´m seriously happy with my 636 AUR anyway.

This is gonna run for four months, right ?

Yes, according to the airdrop blueprint.

198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUR] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland on: November 26, 2014, 08:15:34 PM
hmm, 20$ up for grabs in crypto and 28 of 300,000 take the offer? weird.

Nobody has a clue that this is being distributed.

Yes, that is correct. Nobody knows about it as it has not been announced anywhere. This doesn't mean it's bad or something to have great concerns about. There are 4 months where people can claim this and during that time we plan to lift this coin up.

I agree. No need to hurry, you guys need time and the exchange will bring enough attention. I hope you can pull it off... it's no simple thing.

Smiley Yeah its no simple thing thats for sure. I'm also sure that it will get good attention when it's up and running.

Your work is an important "barometer" for this coin. Thank you for fixing the data output.

Thanks Wink (also to Skarfur)

keep in mind my stats can easily be gamed, though. It counts every transaction of amount 636 AUR, no further checks wether it's really an airdrop tx are done.

Just a thought. Would it be a big deal to compare the transactions to the pre-mine addresses?
